Here's how GGG can easily fix armor:
>it actually protects as much as the status window says % wise
>every physical attack you receive now progressively breaks your armor to some extent, so you can't just stand there like a retard forever
>taking your average one shot attack will fully break your armor for most builds, but it will still protect you as much as advertised from that one attack
>it takes a while to restore your armor from breaking, and it restores progressively rather than all at once (rate varying with nodes)
>warbringer nodes updated to adapt/compensate for the changes

It's not really surprising. Conversion was already pretty good in the first game, but when Armor is as bad as it is, it makes sense people would look for other ways to be defensive.

I honestly am one of the few that don't think there's anything wrong with ES. I just think Armour is fucking dog shit and needs a huge buff.

If you're just starting off, anything that gives you buffs to finding better Waystones. Something like this is a good start. When you get past t10's, you can respec to whatever you want, you should be able to support your own maps by that point.

Literally just copy poe1 system with fortify, life nodes on str side of tree, and damage taken as phys nodes. Then let str armor prevent mobs from pushing you around and allow the player to shove them

PoE 2 Appreciation post.

Everyone is complaining. Everyone is saying the exact same thing over and over.

You FORGOT it's EA and not a complete game

You FORGOT they went on holiday.

You FORGOT that game development takes time.

You FORGOT that everyone has already posted about checks notes endgame, ascendancy, body blocking, map portals, or whatever your mind body blocks you into not being able to counter with the systems.

You also FORGOT that you are playing their creation, not yours. Let them cook!

Let's be positive, it is Christmas after all.

I got 90 hours out of an EA game and enjoyed every minute of it. I'm consumed with trophies and achievements and for this game to not have ANY and have me dump this much time into it, is quite a feat.

I say GOOD JOB GGG, if this is where early access started, we are in for the best arpg of all time.

My friend who’s a dedicated PoE1 diehard hate my build though, he hates it to the core because “no flashy large animations that deals tons of damage”

I wouldn't do that until t10's, maybe even higher. I've had no issue sustaining maps though by just getting all map nodes on the atlas when playing early. But if you can get a reliable source of currency, then do it straight away. It's all about sustaining it when you first start off.

Unironically agree with this post. Playing in trade so I can trade with my friends, but ignoring actual trade economy, making my own build, and slowly climbing up the map tiers has been a great experience. Almost got to 3rd ascendency last night, and I know I can get it within a few more attempts. When I get burnt out mapping, I got more builds in mind and more alts to make.

Game is unironically great and only going to get better. See y'all in the new year and can't wait for the next patch.

Where can I find some decent Warrior leveling builds? Playing with a Monk and we keep triggering stuns so Boneshatter is inconsistent vs playing solo.

One-handed Mace. Not two-handed. Two-handed is for dropping HotG's. One-handed is for everything else.

If you're playing with people, yes, maining stun is a bad idea unless you have some way to trigger effects through heavy stun. For example, triggering Armor Break on Heavy Stun which triggers Armor Explosion. For this you need either Devastate Support or the node on the passive tree that breaks armor on heavy stun, then you just stack stun and armor break + dmg against broken armor, plus AOE size. Which is pretty much "meta" for warriors.

Basic attack is pretty much king though until you get Stampede. Make sure to support it with good Gems. But I personally found more enjoyment in Rolling Slam + Devastate + Armor Explosion. But Basic Attack is again, still better. For single target, Perfect Strike is absolutely king. I one shot a lot of act bosses with that.

Maybe 5ex but honestly probably 1. That's like a map starter item for fire spell builds which isn't very popular rn. For reference, I'm at T4s and I have a lightning staff with 100% spell damage, added lightning damage, 30% cast speed, 50% mana Regen, and +3 to lightning spells. I would probably price that item at like 5ex because even then it isn't perfect and has low rolls on it.

Since day 1 I've been itching to reroll into some sort of CI/EB/MoM. Every bastard I see who has done the same is Stormweaver Spark. Right now I have lvl 5 essence drain and contagion, lvl 5 bone cage, lvl 5 skeleton warriors (5 of them bc of a legendary scepter), and the bone shard charge attack (can’t remember the name right now)

The charge attack does solid damage but I have to time it between his flourishes and it’s been difficult.

The fog attack got me a couple times but I’ll remember that tip too.

I got the cold resist witch first time through, but other than that haven’t built any additional cold res. stack cold resist - you should have two rings by now minumum, use something like bone cage on the add phase and stand near the edge of the fog so you have time to dodge.
whatever element you are using, grab the curse for it. you will melt him, but cold resist is key for that part as it gives you some leeway.

this is my first arpg and i didnt look up any builds until endgame

noob here, how do i get better mana sustain on monk?
one i hit level 16 ice strike (+whatever from equipment) my mana costs started snowballing and i'm OOM after like 4 seconds
i do have a few nodes with decreased mana costs, mana regen, mana leech on equip (but it doesn't seem to do much because i mostly do elemental damage) and i constantly have to chug mana pots
at the moment it still works because i kill shit so fast that i don't run out of charges, but that will probably change when i go even higher in skill level

I like going into Act2 with 500-700 hp or roughly that amount

ES is a massive issue because of conversion/gain mechanics, not by itself.

Yeah if you want to invest massively into ES on every piece and on tree for 20k sure, but the problem is every build can grab ES as a massive EHP boost without investment. Just the top node and a few hybrids will push you to 150-200% ES on tree, then you can get all your base from Atziri helm on life based or Everlasting on Mana and just have 8k ES with no other sources of ES on your gear.

I only play true ethical SSF hardcore. I delete every meta unique I find because it is unethical to keep it. When my character dies, I delete every item in every stash tab because it's not true ethical SSF hardcore otherwise. I Vorici break every six-link I land because it is unrealistic to ever six-link an item in true ethical SSF hardcore. I skip the Labyrinth because Ascendency Classes are unethical powerhouses. Every time a Vaal Orb drops, I immediately use it on a randomly equipped piece of gear to increase the challenge. I've had global chat and trade chat disabled since I got my beta invite back in 0.9.2d, the Merveil fireball optimisation and curse duration patch, because player interaction gave too much advantage. I've sent at least 84 emails to GGG support over the years asking for unlimited ignore player space so I can make sure that no one talks to me when I'm in town. I read and listen to every lorestone, notes, books to fully immerse myself in the true ethical SSF hardcore experience. Every time I go into this general and read the word "meta", "trading", "blade flurry", "clear speed", "Headhunter", so on and so on, I make sure to thrust my giant vibrating dildo one to three times to punish myself accordingly for tainting my TESSFHC experience. I've stolen at least a dozen credit cards from my parents to pay for the 3,250 normal stash tabs that I have to show my support for GGG and the true hardcore game that they have developed. It deeply saddens me that PT left, he was the only one that spoke only truth. Why do you self-proclaimed SSF hardcores even try to pretend that you're truly SSF hardcore? You make me fucking sick.

Dunno why you guys are bitching so much about MF, its really just the 100% or so that makes a huge difference.

Past that you maybe squeeze out an extra 2-3 ex a map, whereas the bulk of profit is from breach stacking and walking out with half a div in breach frags.

Also if you have 0 MF you can farm ultimatum/sanctum for very high profits. Should average at least 1 div per run with 2x relic drop in sanctum and selling trialmaster fragments.

There's no known weights for poe2. The short version is, when you add a prefix to armor for example it's way more likely to be thorns damage than increased armor and if you do get increased armor it's more likely to be a low tier roll than high tier. Gacha basically.

Retard half the ladder was stormweaver since week fucking ONE. Because archmage is grossly overtuned, everyone knew it was overtuned even before the game came out, and GGG refuses to nerf it.

Archmage is literally a 5-6x multiplier to caster damage output and MoM CI builds get damage and survivability from same stat, and spark is a 1 button map clear.

look at https://poedb dot tw/us/One_Hand_Swords#ModifiersCalc but ignore everything other than the prefix/suffix table

The numbers in red next to the affixes are the weight of that affix and the red number at the bottom is the total weight. Click on % increased physical damage and observe how the weights go down as the tier of the affix goes up. When you add an affix to an item it every tier of every affix has a (weight for that tier)/(total weight in the pool) chance to be selected. PoE2's weights aren't known but I'd imagine the pattern is the same.

Naw, you can get d2 for free. Go download d2 and the dlc from their official website. the link is kind of buried but they let you download it for free and activate it with a CD key.
Then google "D2 cd key free" and click the first reddit link. keys can be reused. enjoy your free D2 experience.

Base of the game is absolutely incredible. It feels really good to play, it sounds and looks amazing. Bosses are the best in the genre.

It has kept the PoE feel, which I wanted. There’s some issues, a couple overblown by Reddit, but I believe in GGG more than any other developer. I’m so excited for what’s to come.

how do i not die on mace warrior?
i dropped giants blood recently for a faster 1h mace and some int for CoF
>3.3k life, thats with 120+ life on all gear pieces already
>capped block
>48% cloak of flame with 82 fire res, 68 chaos res, all else capped
>whatever little recovery i can get (cannibalism, leech etc)
mostly its fine but during breaches i still get bodyblocked while stampeding and clapped every second map

Unfortunately the armor formula DOES make it work really well against small hits, far better than % damage reduction, which is the majority of what hits you. Honestly if the coefficient in poe is 5, and we don't have determination or granite flasks, the coefficient needs to be 2 or something.

Yes. The red robe almost halves physical damage so funnily enough it also makes armor more effective because the smaller the physical hit you take, the better mitigation from armor you get. You could have 40k armor and the robe would still be better at physical mitigation.

Early game sorc is stacking spell and elemental damage, there's a lot of them. Endgame is just archmage. For defense just pick max energy shield nodes and 3 stun threshold nodes you'll be immortal.

I've been playing on ssf while I wait on my friend group to buy a key. They did today, and I found myself unable to merge my character or stash to help them with some leveling items.

I finally know why sorc/witch is such ultrapain to level
Ranger, Monk, Warrior and Merc all get like 100-150% increased damage of choice + benefits for free whereas Sorc/witch gets a lot of ES nodes but barely any if at all just % increased
You'll need like 20-30+ travel nodes to remotely get to something decent
Maybe a bit of spell pen which is irrelevant in early acts

Spells don't really have that. Tempest Storm maybe or Orb of Storms but they are nowhere even close to the power the other things provide

Pierce strikes once after piercing. But Spark has a different projectile rule. The same projectiles per cast can strike the same enemy after 0.66s. So if your spark lasts 2s, the projectiles from the same cast can only hit an enemy a maximum of 3 times. That's why spell effect duration and speed are important for Spark. Pierce just means more projectiles.

Tell me you're grinding currency like a jeet without telling me exactly that. You get regals, transmutes, and augments out the ass even on T1-3. You can try to roll a good item on almost every white you're chasing for. Get 3 juiced bases? Exalt slam time. You'll get something good after a few times of doing this. You can go a while without getting anything decent but it's hardly impossible to upgrade this way.

That or just full send and slam whites with alchs you casually pick up. This really isn't hard.

It's a genuine question. If the intent is for the game to be slow paced and challenging, then shouldn't that be swapped around? Make normal easier and faster then gradually increase the difficulty into cruel?
Because I'll be honest, it just feels like a cheap gimmick at the moment. When I thought I was misremembering my time through act 1 I rolled a new character. With access to gold and low level uniques the game is even faster than in poe 1.
I don't understand why normal has so much artificial difficulty.

I don't feel like this was the case at all. The only time I felt like I was getting rushed down was Act 3 in the Vaal maps leading up to the Black Chambers. But even then, my CC-heavy build was able to handle it no problem. Then I got to maps and got obliterated. Sometimes maps swarm you without even engaging in breach/ritual. Never had anything like that in campaign.

Obviously it depends on the build and different builds "come online" at different times, but that's the general idea

GGG could try to scale cruel to account for the fact that players get massive power spikes around that time, but like I just mentioned it happens at different times so that wouldn't work out too well, would brick builds that come online super late
