I've played Warrior 3 times. Gotten my main Warrior to T15's. The other two were testing the other Ascendancy (Warbringer) and playing a meme build. Which I didn't care for.

Rolling Slam is the best leveling skill.
Spec for Stun and AOE.
Put Devastate and Armor Explosion in it, also AOE size or more stun power.
When you get Perfect Strike, put timer and heft in it. These two skills alone will let you slaughter the campaign until you get Stampede. Ignore Sunder, it's a meme and adds over 1 second on your skills. It's shit.
You can get a passive Shattering Blow, once you get this, get rid of Devastate. Then get Breakage and Pile On (plus the two higher dmg nodes under it). With the surrounding AOE nodes, Devastation, Reverberating Impacts, Impact Area, Impact Force, you should be at the point by level... 40ish where you are wiping entire screens with a single Stampede. It's tempting to play Giants Blood, but that's a noobtrap. Use Weapon Switch Passive Switching on a Greathammer with Hammer of the Gods. One-hander and Shield is much, much better.

totem +earthquake pair well together for early game (one gives other bonus damage), i use totem + earthquake then spam auto attack while waiting for them to go off vs bosses/rares. vs regular enemies i mostly just auto and boneshatter, but i use totem if i need extra defences for whatever reason. of course @ lvl 16 i use warcry and perfect strike for bosses

Charges per second is good for campaign or super drawn-out fights, but realistically reduced charge use is going to get you the best value since it's the equivalent of getting like 30+ charges immediately

I didn't know you could just click "show all skills" and look at everything and pick shit that would be good

How long does it take to "gitgud" at building a character? How do you even decide what a character's main skill is? It seems like once you get to a certain point if you've fucked up enough it's just faster to remake the character. I plan to play Druid when it comes and i don't want to be following a guide every fucking league then again i don't want every character to be bricked at a certain point.

Read each skill, watch the video associated with them see which ones give bonuses to which. Once you beat the game and have access to most skills/supports you will understand better what to shoot for.

So, the way i'm seeing the game right now is, you level with LA + Rod regardless of class and then just respecc when you unlock all the skills.

I don't understand though why the fuck are we level-locked with skills, we could get everything by act 3 in poe1, but here we literally have to level ourselves to fucking 58 to unlock everything.

People had to do that for the launch of POE2 (And by people, I mean people that didn't have access to the betatest before that so people were already aware of certain absolutely broken interactions)

Crossbows don't really feel bad in late game aside from the reload bugs since you'll have enough speed by then that reloads are smooth. Probably they should reduce base reload times on weapons and adjust things around that.

Otherwise it's just an underbaked weapon group. The good builds are perfectly workable but underperform just because their ceiling isn't as high as the competition, and it's to be seen if the game will scale down towards crossbows or if crossbows need to scale up to catch up to the immediate competition in bows. The bad builds are just really missing tools. Cold bolts can't scale, fire bolts have no payoff, and phys bolts don't have enough support.

Now that the dust has settled I hope we can admit that POE2 is not good and needs some work. So many mechanics exist simply to punish the player and make the game an unfun slog.

>1 death per map allowed
>have to click a well for flask charges

I don't think poe2 has them yet but poe1 had 40 achievements you can get every league, at certain points you got free mtx, so a lot of people would get the 36th and quit.

Rarity needs to be removed
90% of the skills need to be reworked to not have random bullshit downsides like Rolling Slam and Sunder having +3 second attack times added to them

Ah I see. I've never played PoE 1 but people are saying like "You need 2k hours to make your own build", "You need to theory craft everything", "if you mess up your character is completely bricked". They make it sound like it's one of those second job type games. That's much more the case with poe1, it's quite hard to respec there, here you just need to grind for gold (pretty easy to do, assuming it isn't unusably bricked). They've also managed to idiot proof a lot of things desu, it's really hard to go wrong, at least for the campaign. A lot of the time the only reason you're roadblocked is you haven't upgraded your gear (very important in this version) or you don't know the boss well enough.

You see people mentioning synergies in global chat or here and maybe it sounds interesting and you look more into it and decide whether you want to shift in that direction
Literally the only permanent character choices are ascendancies and one sidequest in early Act 3, it is almost impossible to "brick" a character in this game

Huge for MoM builds but you're probably not grabbing that second node unless you're stacking mana or have nothing else to take.

I'm playing Glacial Bolt Merc, it's the only gameplay I've found fun and satisfying so far but I'm literally stuck at the Viper boss, she's not considered a large enemy so I can't make the frost walls explode on hit, she barely takes any damage if I force explode the walls with fragmentation rounds. The only thing that's deals consistent and somehow decent damage on her is my fucking basic attack which also takes a fucking long time, and by the time I get her down to maybe 20% hp I'm literally out of life flasks. Absolutely what the fuck can I do here?

I hate the minion gameplay, I've had enough of that in poo1. I tried playing around with Demonform but you need multiple uniques to make it work. It's okay in trade league but not in SSF. If you decide to use Demonform without the uniques then you're just maing yourself weaker since it removes your main and offhand equipment for like, 180% spell damage. That's nothing when you can easily get +8 spell level gems.

Bloodmage is also really bad. Not only do you need to use life along with your mana the Life Remnants you get doesn't even heal you enough. The only real way to play it is to take Blood Magic where you remove your mana cost all together. But because of that you kinda gimp yourself some more since you can't take Mind Over Matter for more defensive layer.

Right now I'm trying to play a bloodmage melee witch but it isn't really working out.

If you stack thorns on EVERY piece of gear than can roll it + use bramblejack + pick physical damage amp on the tree you’re still looking at max 4000-5000 phys dmg per proc meanwhile most abilities do 15000 damage per attack in mid late maps

Honestly my assumption has just been that armour is balanced around things in development that didn't launch with the EA because I think the devs are stupid enough to make that poor judgment but not stupid enough to totally fuck their formula knowing it was already a weaker layer in PoE1. Like it goes too hard for their intentions with uniques that're missing their bases like lightning coil or there's a phys reduction permanent effect in act 4.

There's a lot of shit floating around that's "wow this sure would be good if X existed" in general. The merc side of the tree is absolutely littered with dead nodes that don't play with anything yet.

Dying in maps frustrates me the shit out of me. I've lost 3 divs worth to it now. Lost one to an explosion I didn't see underneath CHEST FOG and then died in a profitable breach, wasn't picking things up because breach isn't normally a danger for my build, because I thought a gap in the map geometry was traversible. It was not and got me stun locked to death.

The thing is though, I'm also aware that they can't cleanly remove it right now due to how the rest of the mapping system is arranged. The entire system relies on failure states to function and just one extra life makes it infinitely easier to progress.

This is what chris thought for a decade and high tier maps were a rare thing and it was shit. People used to exalt their maps. It's so hilarious to make it difficult to actually play the game. I remember not being able to progress and running maps i would run a deficit, i would quit the game at that point. Personally I like the decision and the whole new gem system in general. I'm dooming on most of the regular topics but this is the only one that I consider a total improvement.

My problem though is that we really don't have enough supports. They want us to use multiple abilities but the current lack of support gems means that the absolute best builds are all the ones that can get the most value of a single well supported skill gem just like PoE1, or the ones with a lot of coverage that can all trigger each other... just like PoE1.

I could see if you had one and only one modifier that increased damage, then yea, theoretically everyone would go for that for every skill. But when you have modifiers that affect ability behavior then restricting it is moronic. If they decided to categorize abilities as primary/secondary/tertiary or attack/cast/channel, etc... and then they limited it to one use per category it would be a different story. But as it stands it's an asinine choice with a moronic justification. if it was just you saying it, then it could be dismissed as you just rushing to make a counter argument. PoE 2 is a pure RMT slop like WoW classic. The game is designed with RMT in mind. GGG forces you to use trade because SSF doesn't have any SSF specific buffs and gives you nothing except cock and ball torture. And if you accept their rules and play in the trade league, you will not have any progress without RMT. If you play PoE 2 for 3-4 hours of free time after work, you will never achieve anything without playing this game for 3 months every fucking day.

It's just one of those things where the supporting stuff isn't in the game yet. Templar in PoE1 used to use effects like that a lot for their take on minion builds where they summoned minions by beating the shit out of people. Mercenary/duelist is also getting a minion tree so they'll both be close enough to path into maces.

the best leveling setup for warrior from lvl 1 to lvl 100 is currently mace strike and boneshatter combo.
if you wanna do fancy things like eq you can do it but it will be janky and slow.
stampede is meta because it offers mobility and damage in one skill but it's shitty to use. you get stuck in mobs and it takes a while to get used to it. also you get ragdoll and pushed by mobs mid stampede or just straight up stopped.
I am playing dual 2handers mace strike avatar of fire. it double screen clears and use single target swap for bosses with perfect strike which for some reason one shots them.
the only thing I recommend is to not play warrior in the first place but if you do want to not enjoy your poe2 experience just go avatar of fire mace strike or stampede (titan each, the other ascendancy is a meme now after armour explosion nerfs).

I've heard he's straight-up bullshit and typically I go in blind (like sanctum, ultimatum) but considering this one is a big investment I had a quick look and I think I'm just going to pass on it, bros. He seems to routinely beam you for a lot of damage during the 'run here in the little circle' phase, and then he has the constant 'stand in this line or you WILL die' phase which is very repetitive and any failure (of which is very quick) = death. I easily done ultimatum, sanctum, and citadel bosses but this one looks fucked.

Gold find made barbarians actually a viable starter to do gold find runs.
D2s strength in endgame was how there were many different things to run that had different resistances/immunities so multiple builds could be the best at something. even nova sorc was a viable starter if all you wanted to do was farm countess

You're misunderstanding the problem anon. The reason certain builds have an easier time with MF on gear is that they don't need the prefix it eats up. They are not necessarily easier to gear than other classes, the issue is simply that they do not require an accuracy rating mod and therefore do not suffer for spending the same resources on the MF prefix. If removed, that prefix slot would still have to be replaced by the next best thing under the same rolling odds.

Consequently, this means there isn't any substantial difference in progression speeds between the haves and the have nots.

Yeah, I just lost Arbiter now. The constant meteors that drop down and you gotta go into the zone. They started to spread out far, far too wide and I couldn't keep up, even with blink. 30% MS boots. It's such a shame of how insanely expensive (currency and/or time) each attempt is. For me - I one-shot all act bosses. Both in normal and cruel. Because I got very lucky with some drops and gambling. Warrior was the smoothest time I had levelling because of that luck.

Waystone sustain is fucking god awful but if you're of a lower level, which is the likeliest place to run out of waystones, you can buy tier 1s from Doryani infinitely and throw them into the reforge at 3 to upgrade a tier.

If you're at a level where that's prohibitively shit to do, clear towards like a boss node or something with your shit tier waystones, maybe the 1s you buy, and then juice up your highest tier and pray for upgrades or at least a refund.

It gets better later on once you have your mandatory waystone drop nodes all invested and your actual map nodes have a high drop rate but it feels fucking awful for a long time. Usually by the time you get to tier 13 or so you'll always have a surplus. They seriously need to adjust it.

Have 2 weapons.
Make sure your minions are only summoned using weapon 1. Find a skill you want to use to summon your minions, I use Detonate Dead as an example, make sure it's also in weapon 1. This way when you use the skill it switches to your weapon 1 and since your minions are only summoned when you use weapon 1 they get summoned around you. Now find another skill and put it on weapon 2. And it's the same concept. You use the skill for weapon 2 and it unsummons your minions since you only made it so it's summoned using weapon 1.
Played around with it and Incinerate was the fastest skill to cast so weapon swap then casting the skill was quick.

Forgot to mention, it ONLY works when you cancel the skill for weapon 2. So if the skill for weapon 2 gets off then when you switch using the skill for weapon 1 then it won't work. You gotta get the timing right.

the damage mace skills do, do not warrant the insane duration and lock in place animation they have.
warrior also feel extremely squishy for some reason compared to other classes. standing still and casting a 1.4 sec skill wouldn't be a huge issue if warriors were tanks and could withstand the incoming damage for that duration.
I feel like ggg needs to pick one or the other. if they want warriors to be squishy pieces of shit then mace skill animations need to dramatically be decreased. if they want mace skills to have long animations to instill some sort of weight behind these attacks then they should dramatically increase warrior defenses.

Blight. It's basically a tower defense. Heist and Betrayal as well which are harder to explain. My really hot take though is that I enjoy Crucible which gave you special weapon modifiers and involved charging up a rock that would spawn enemies that murdered the shit out of you which most people hated.

Noob trap passive. 1h is for trash clear. You don't need more than a 1h. You don't need to stack STR on a build like this because +life is more valuable than +str unless you get certain things. It doesn't add DMG. Only a small amount of life not worth it. Makes it harder to gear. Just get base stats for your gear and put everything else in DMG and actual life. Warrior is also built for weapon switching. He gains a lot from that.

Gemling is good on it's own. The best part about it is that you can be just about anything. HOWEVER, they're also insane with stat stacking, which is near impossible in SSF.

So I don't think it's a good idea. No matter what you go, without the stat stacking components, you'll just be a gimped version of whatever else.

Either, here the flash grenade did it because rapid shot added more fire damage and armor explosion also does fire.

Fire and oil grenade is also a guaranteed ignite, bombard shoots two and I extended the AOE to create a big patch of burning terrain. Herald of Ash is also nice.

How can people stand playing flamewall srs? The flame wall blocks all the visual cues from the enemy. Why can't they let any fire spell summon the max amount of raging spirits so we're not forced to play flame wall? I miss POE1 SRS where you press the button and it summons 1-4 spirits at a time with no visual clutter.

Man it doesn't really matter since you can just avoid them and take different nodes but I can't get over how imbalanced nodes are on the tree for no discernible reason. I don't hate traps and mines, but I had the same epiphany while playing with grenades and it completely ruined them for me especially since they were promoted so heavily by GGG like they were some special, new playstyle. They are even clunkier than mines since crossbow reloading is so shit and you have to rely on explosive shot to detonate them. It'd be like if you only had one charge of detonate mines in PoE 1 that you had to invest into to not be completely shit and even then, it's still clunky as fuck. Bowsissies and spellfags are blowing up screens like it's PoE 1 while we're playing a worse miner that had its best build gutted on like day two or three. GGG are truly incompetent and I won't make excuses for them like "muh EA game."

I actually really like how bolts feel once you have enough attack speed that you reload in half a second. They did a great job distinguishing the feel from bows.

Problem is, the best crossbow skills still wildly underperform compared to nearly every other weapon's best tools and the worst crossbow skills are basically unplayable. I probably won't play them again during EA since I've tried every build on them I can think of for feel but I'm hopeful they won't be so fucking garbage on release.

The point is that the damage scaling probably shouldn't be what it is. Consider when they showcased xesht in the livestream versus people blowing it the fuck up in-game right now.

The "vision" is that you have to do mechanics and fight a war of attrition with the boss. That's not currently happening. If that were the case, slowing down, regen, freeze change and all those stats that are not damage would be useful.

The hammer will come down and it will be a bloodbath.

Evasion isn't really hard to scale. The base values are about the same as armour but for some reason the nodes give a larger increased multiplier and Wind Dancer is a fucking 75% MORE multiplier that's basically conditionless.

They can tune down our damage if they give us defensive options to make fights feel fair, but they won't do that. We have characters relying on a fucking life flask for recovery unless you play some broken ES build. It's just unacceptably amateur and ignorant of the entire genre.

The fundamental problem is that GGG is borderline autistic and doesn't understand human psychology. There's a term called Risk Aversion where people engage in risk compensation strategies when facing high risk. If your car exploded because you accelerated or braked too hard you would do everything as slowly and safetly as possible. The risk you have when you map or run pinnacle content is high, you lose a shit ton of your time (potentially several hours). Player then compensate by playing ultra high power builds so they can just negate mechanics. Why would people engage with mechanics when those mechanics are a direct threat to them. GGG expects you to play this cute little game of simon says and when you get it wrong 1/3rd of a work week gets flushed down the toilet. It's retarded

Wait, so how does damage conversion work in PoE2? If I'm playing Merc, and I pick a node that passively gives +20% Physical Damage, how is that applied to Crossbow skills that converts Physical Damage to Elemental Damage? Does it add the PhyDamage first THEN convert, or does it read that modifiers AFTER the conversion takes place?

Leveling with any damage spell works fine. You just have to keep upgrading your weapon to be spell damage, ele damage, skill levels. Same as always. Gonna feel weak with anything if you don't do this.

It doesn't convert the damage modifier afaik. If you took 20% physical damage and you skill did 50% phys and 50% cold, the modifier would only apply to the 50% physical damage
