Swapping out the aoe explosion witch hunter has for sorcery ward really ups the survivability but god it feels like shit clear wise. It wish the 4th ascendency point wasn't unlocked so late into the game.

It's sad how a core mechanic has been gated so deep into the game. By the time you get your final ascendency it's almost redundant as you should have already been able to clear t15s.

I took decimating strike then culling strike then sorcery ward. Previously I had the aoe explosion as my third but as I said the survivability was too low going into higher tier maps. Cull has been nerfed but I still find it somewhat useful against bosses and other tanky mobs.

My slot is already used up by the unique that let's you electrocute with lightning damage so that's not an option.

Power level is too high honestly. It's only hard to see because gearing is garbage but even mediocre builds delete screens and spend 10x as long in transit at they do actually killing things when they reach maps. You just end up hitting hurdles every so many tiers and then have to swap out 5 fucking gear pieces because resistance fixing is ass and you do upgrades in batches but then you'll melt things again

A pretty underrated part of using off-meta builds in PoE 2 is that corrupted uniques with boosted corrupted stats that aren't in high demand is pretty sweet. Certainly a lot more interesting than just getting like curse on hit gloves or cannot be poisoned implicit rings.

+skill level is a bait modifier though, it looks good on tooltip dps but it increases mana cost by so much that you have to move passive points to fix mana sustain so you end up losing damage again and its just not that great compared to attack speed

The problem is, in poe1 there was a bunch of ways to scale a skill out. Ancestral call, melee splash, gmp, ignite, totems, traps. In PoE2 you're basically constrained to the intended synergies and if the base skill is bad you're kind of screwed. Maybe i'm wrong but idk

its impossible to judge the strength of any build idea you may have without plugging it into pob because many of the skills and mechanics simply do not work as well as others
cutting down on all of the bloat should make balancing the remaining shit more feasible and thus make the game more intuitive and less reliant on being forced to play the entire game in a simulation before you actually play in the game

That's not my fault the playerbase is autistic and needs to simulate a build with every piece of gear and cluster jewel mapped out. Do you think that same thing isn't going to happen with 2? I only use PoB to map out a tree pre-league launch since that holds me over and helps me decide what I actually want to league-start with. Post league launch, I just use PoB to do rough drafts of my tree which usually ends up changing once I actually hit endgame and have to solve problems I didn't know about until I actually played the build, but I'm not a retard who has to copy streamers. The farthest I go is looking at poe.ninja for interactions that I never thought of. I really don't give a fuck what other people are doing since I consider Poe a single-player game with a community market.

It really is just a basic formula that can be easily tweaker whenever they want.

ES provides no actual mitigation other than existing as a large pool of EHP. The bottom tree classes have more access to armor, evasion, max res, and other forms of mitigation. We already see evasion being pretty strong. They just need to tune armor and it'll be fine. I legitimately don't get why people are dooming so hard.

CI only works if you have a shit ton of mana and the unique amulet that gives ES using a % of your mana.
So you can go Eldritch Battery for more mana, then Mind Over Matter so you can use that mana as HP, then you use Chaos Inoculation to get ES back.

i have 20k armour and i'm still getting DESTROYED
i counted the exact amount of skill points i invested in armour in poe 2 and applied it to a poe 1 tree with flasks and auras
in poe 1 i got 101k armour
so if they missed a decimal, which is what i think it happens, it means that armour is 5x harder to get but a single point is 4.16x more effective
i REALLY do think they missed the decimal unless they wanted to absolutely dumpster armour for some bizarre reason

The change in attitude is not the "doomers", it's people taking 20 hours on fucking campaign trying to discuss armour mitigation scores as if 80% is 80% because they don't understand scaling. The whole premise of arguments like "rarity find is overtuned" or "Witchhunter is weak" only exists in the first place on the foundation that people had to have played the game to arrive at that fact. The opposite is not true.

Most if not all of them have no idea that PoE1 updated it's armor calculations to fix the situation and have no idea how easy of a fix it is. This is the first publicly available version of a game that is most likely less than half finished, yes it's going to be buggy and yes it's going to be broken. The entire point of an early release (in this specific case, not all games nor companies) is to find these problems and fix them while smoothing out the rough edges.

Personally, no. It recorrupts an already corrupted map. So if you put in a t16 it will recorrupt and it might go down to t15. A t15 may go down to t14. It may reroll all mods on it. I'd only say yes if you do not care at all about what you put in, AND what you could get. So you put in any random t15 corrupted map over and over, and do not care at all about any mods you may get. I've strongly considered it as I have a sea of corrupted t15s. Still not convinced. I guess you could do the aforementioned, slowly build up a bank of t16, then unspec that node when you run 16s. Still risky (random mods).

Armor was never good in PoE1. It was good when it was supplements by Phys Damage Taken As X, damage taken as mana/recoup/regen, or Jug's passive to let armor apply to ele resists
Armour on its own has always been dogshit against the oneshots that kill most people AND the spam projectiles that just hit you a million times, and everything from like 50k to 200k was completely useless with the exception of certain Pinnacle boss hits just barely letting you live at certain breakpoints

No, Warrior with mace exclusively building armor is garbage.
>Quarterstaff Warrior has an insanely strong fire + stun build.

Combining all three and not even trying to branch out is what's shit. Should it work better? Yes. Is it shit? No, just retarded newfags who never learned any of this in PoE1 when this is always how the game has been. Intentionally building for slow as fuck attacks with a defensive layer that doesn't really work against the kinds of things slow attacks get hit by is going to get you killed

Hell, just buy yourself a Pillar of the Caged God. Stack STR. This will let you one or twoshot all bosses all the way until Act 3. It starts falling off there but it's still strong. Then just respec. You should be around level 40 by then. Two Ascendancies. You should be able to play whatever build you want by then.

If you don't want to believe it you'll find any excuse not to. But Mace isn't fundamentally shit. Reduced Duration is actually insane for Ghost Shroud but the only real skill that can make use of it beyond that is Earthquake. And as it turns out, it works. And Invoker's defensive layers could make any fucking weapon work

because armor functionally does not work like that. They just need to tweak the numbers but armor is fantastic against small phys hits and less effective against large phys hits, which in PoE 1 we would normally mitigate with flat phys reduction from endurance charges and other places.

It's likely that they will just shift a larger percentage of armor to work against large phys hits.

If you want to do that then when you get to the manor there's a miniboss that spawns from a statue, he'll drop a +20 life item, don't use that, you can always come back for it later if you really want it but the "current" build is to keep your life as low as possible and to subsist on ES + life regen since the form drains a percentage of life (min 1).
I dunno much about what succubus builds use desu. I remember leveling my witch with bone spells and it was so painful I swapped to minions (which was also bad), I leveled a sorc with spark->arc and that was fine (but there's an anon here vehemently yelling about spark being shit to level with so who knows). I really don't suggest starting with minions, I found myself not being able to see anything and getting randomly 1 shot by bosses because of that, but just taking the free ones from a scepter should be fine.

I spent 200+ hours in settlers league and it was rewarding and fun af. Poe2 was an absolute slog to get through (warrior) and felt more like a chore. After the honeymoon phase wears off POE2 will have a hard time competing with its predecessor

Waystones? You need the actual Waystone nodes on your atlas. I've been able to consistent sustain my maps all the way up to t15. Constantly getting maps that drop at a higher level too.

yeah and if you check out the early access endgame you would know that the rest of the campaign will be as glorious as the first three acts flavor texts by player character when entering certain maps, certain maps in itself being a revisit of yet to-come campaign maps
100% druid themed riverside or creek or whatsitcalled map
several story maps where there is clearly action going on like the one with the overturned and ransacked caravan
thnen the mines map with the lava and so on and so forth
so much good stuff
cant wait for it to be released

there is clearly stuff in other versions of the game that is not in this one (for example the cloud shadow layer in the tower map) for reasons
and other stuff that will be implemented
such as a filter for the tower atlas to highlight desired maps or map modifiers and direct lanes toward these maps
and in general a overview where you can zoom out farther when in the atlas map
it is plausible to not have this in early access but it highly likely to be in the full release version because not having this is fail
and how the rest of the game looks where you feel that they have a 100% completed check on their whiteboard or whatever they wont fail
you can hit some people with a fabergé egg to the head and they would not know the difference form a potato
too many fucking normies do too many normie sociel shit instead of shutting the fuck up and playing the fucking game for real
