As a witchhunters grenade spam, how should I upgrade my gear? Getting hard cock blocked on anything past T10 maps. Should I just be looking for gear that's the same as mine, just more extra hp? I think my damage is decent and I kill rares in a few seconds, but I got to survive not getting 1shot in the span it takes grenades to go boom, as I can't really offscreen stuff.

I am being 100% serious. Warrior is insanely easy to level. I did it in SSF. Didn't die once. Two-shot Geonor with found and "crafted" shit. Devastate, Armor Explosion and Area of Effect on Rolling Slam makes clearing laughably easy with a few points into AOE and or Stun and Herald of Ash. And Perfect Strike will one or two tap most bosses through the campaign.
Warrior is insanely easy and comfy to level. Just grab Cannibalism in Herald. You can usually find a 10 spirit neck in one of the neck vendors or just on the ground by act 2. Though I found mine earlier.

Never once had any trouble. By the time I got Stampede, my AOE could one-tap an entire screen and Warrior doesn't need any insane gear to level or consistently get stronger.

You people either never played warrior or you suck.

This is funny because it fundamentally undermines how your character behaves and there isn't really a counterplay. There's also the ascend that consumes primed to stun, effectively a trap ruining boneshatter

Everything outside of campaign isn't balanced in the slightest. Even with a good weapon I was still doing heavy stun bombs in campaign. It's only once you get into cruel where the meticulous scaling is thrown out the window and you start dashing around exploding the screen and get put into a loop of needing a better weapon to keep your armour break pops going

because statting it fucking sucks. no armour nodes on the monk side of the tree yet your weapon is 100% str, no evasion or ES on the warrior side of the tree yet your weapon is 100% not str. at that point you're just being a special snowflake for the sake of it. astramentis is basically mandatory to pull this off, and it's still going to be way worse than just following the jonathan approved paths

You can always just remove stun buildup nodes, but that will affect your boss performance because stun is the best defensive layer you have against them.

They should just make it so boneshatter applies if it will cause stun when used. It makes no sense for it not to.

Motherfucker the entire point of travel nodes letting you take everything means you can use anything easily. Just grab the 2x 25 nodes and you'll have zero issues wearing all 3 types of armor if you really want.
On Mace Monk you go evasion with mace, so you only need dex + strength. Every fucking build has like 200 of each by endgame anyway and the weapons don't need more than 150, and the stats themselves don't scale your damage beyond that. Same shit in reverse with Warrior. You only need like 133 Dex for quarterstaff and then you take whatever the fuck you want

It isn't even slightly difficult to balance two stats. Now if you were going Evasion/ES + Mace Monk it'll be a bit harder but that's fucking stupid, and even then stats don't mean anything once you get your requirements so who cares

If you're not using the outer ring for gems you're a fucking idiot anyway. There's a reason literally every renowned poe1 player is doing it. You basically path to the 25 stat nodes by fucking default.
Even then you're fucking stupid because stats. Do. Not. Matter. Once you have the requirements for what you need your stats are effectively worthless beyond that point unless you just really have mana issues, so you grab some extra int. Also you don't need god tier gear, what the fuck are you on? If you're really struggling that bad you get 25 stats on literally a single piece of your gear and you're solved for the next 20 levels, and in that time you grab a couple travel nodes

Kill yourself. Keep crying about how Warrior is so bad and then not knowing how the game works. The weapons are made generically-usable for a reason fuckhead.

In theory i would love a game where you have lots of skills and classes, kills stuff, get better gear, etc. But every single one of these turns into max your resistances and effective hp, with the end game overturned specifically for broken shitty expensive builds.

You can't actually dodge everything in these kinds of games. Eventually you get to the leaves poison, explodes on deah, freezes screen, slows you down aura mobs that you can only survive by preemptively blowing up the screen and having 100k effective hp.

Fuck galvanic, seriously, galvanic is conditional damage, when there's a bunch of mobs the chain lightnings do a mad damage, when there's one mob or they are spaced badly you're naked, good luck charging your plasma or something.

Go for the lightning infused, conductivity FRAGMENTATION rounds, it's basicaly same shit except it deals hit damage and actually applies shock. You aren't going to have to switch to your bow or panic charge the plasma in single target scenarios because you can just shock the boss with a Frag hit, then burst it the fuck down with shockburst rounds.

Galvanic sucks dick because it's conditional and unreliable
>sometimes it has mad clear
>sometimes it doesn
>no telling whether it's gonna work or not
>literally doesn't work for single target at all

The lightning merk kit is a paradox, because Shockburst is omegapowerful, but only when shocked, and the only skill that actually applies shock by default is plasma. Frag rounds with lightning infusion and conduction kind of solve it.

The lategame of POE2 is legit shit and I hope they change everything about it. I had fun struggling with the mobs in campaign, srafting my own gear for the power spike and so on. When i reached the maps its the same mindless zooming again, except much lower in quality

I'm pretty sure something doesn't work, the game is supposed to compile a shader for each mob and each effect once and then store it in cache so that it can re-use it quickly next time when you encounter breach/delirium but right now it doesn't save shit.

Unconditional buffs in POE 1 were so good literally everybody had them. If you don't run Malevolence and skitterbots you're just stupid, it's free damage.

So when everybody has it literally becomes the baseline, nobody is special for running malevolence/hatred/wrath/pride, literally every single build has it. and if everybody has it it's pointless, just remove it from the game and adjust the baseline.

Same as mobility skills, NOBODY plays without one, so you might as well give it to everyone as a part of the character.

The strength shield with x on block (Svalinn) interacts exclusively with spellcasting too. Templar or druid would have to bring interesting meta's or it'd be all spells all the time for everybody.

You could say that about all of poe2s design though to an even greater degree. You are now actually forced to take the dev intended interaction because it won't work otherwise. Poe1 at least had nuance - you could take malevolence on a spark build for duration, you could take haste instead of damage aura, you could take herald of purity instead of hatred if you had reservation issues, herald of agony as both a summon or to cap poison chance on spells. There's nearly no niche use cases in poe2

That's cause you're not supposed to go Stormweaver, you go Infernalist. Demon Form carries you through a lot of the Acts and has some enjoyable progression to it.
>1st ascend
You get cool power spikes you can't sustain (or even hope to) which let you burst down strong foes
>2nd ascend
You push to get a little bit of regen and permanently sustain 10 stacks, even if the damage isn't as nutty since it scales off stacks, you still get some cast speed, a ton of Gem levels, and an awesome dodge, so you can focus on building up Mana regen and investing in MoM EB.
>3rd ascend
Free to choose between Altered Flesh, Grinning Immolation, and Hellhound, they all have their upsides.
Then you'll progress through maps a bit, get your level up, and finally convert your setup a bit to full MoM EB with as much % Reduced Life and flat Life Regen as you can manage to reduce the degen and despec the 2nd Demon ascend. This is cause the lower your Life total (has to be more than 1), the less degen you take from stacks and thus the more useful flat Life regen is.

No it fucking didn't. You obviously take all of them with a inspiration, reservation implicit on helmet, and nodes on the tree, reserve 100% of your mana pool and play with eldritch battery/blood/lifetap or leave exactly enough mana for one cast and stack

Reservation efficiency on POE 1 was a 100% take same as the life nodes, literally every build used it.

Ther's a keystone that converts evasion to armor so the mixed bases end up giving you more armor that you'd be getting without them.

i think most people who are struggling in early game poe2 are like me: unwilling to dramatically modify playstyle to fit dev's intentions
the game is designed in a way where if you try to get "too greedy" (dev's personal definition of this) you just die. using spark is very slow. some players cannot tolerate how long it takes to set down both parts of the combo and then waiting for the stupid crawl animation to touch everything on the screen. we want to push the gas pedal and get rid of the small gaps. and the game kills you when you try to do this
people with patience will just do the combo and it just works and they'll be like "how fucking bad are all of you literal retards?" when it's really not a skill issue. it's a patience issue

Is there any point in pushing the rarity on the character above 400%+ if you're aiming for raw divine drops?
I had 281% inc rarity on character + 247% on map and with 2 breaches I got only 13ex+2c (and around 10ex on average from 80-120% rarity maps)

Rarity improves your odds of dropping a rare or unique item (and they are all shit, except like 5 chase items).
The currencies don't have rarity at all.

why is weapon swapping even a thing? they went out of their way to delete all of the "confusing" mechanics, like apparently they think colored gem sockets is too conceptually difficult for players. but they want players to micromanage different weapon types which have different skill tree variants associated with them? like, what the fuck? i'm a 4fig hours poe1 hcssf main, i'm basically as hardcore as it gets, and i don't understand this design decision at all. weapon swapping feels like max sweating for no good reason

someone did some testing and found that it's armor/(armor+12damage).
in poe1 it's armor/(armor+5dmg). it used to be armor/(armor+10dmg).
so it's technically worse than even the old formula but enemy hits are probably smaller in poe2.
but you also have quite a bit less armor in poe2 and you also don't have additional physical damage reduction which stacks additively with armor mitigation reduction.

its intentional, the idea is that you use keybinds to automatically swap weapons.
the intended, premade, ggg approved gameplay experience is that you have something like a +curse effect setup on your second set, set the curse to only be used with that set, you press the curse hotkey, it automatically swaps to that set, you use your normal skills, it swaps back.
weapon swapping has a like 0.25sec animation so doing this essentially adds a half second cast time to your situational second set skill.

The weapons are currently not in the fucking game, swords, dagers, spears and shit aren't yet released.

There's literally just one STR weapon and one Dex weapon. The Shockburst builds are switching to the bow for single target shock application and then back to shockburst for damage.

Hypothetically the Witch could switch between her pure minions build with a scepter and pure spellcasting build with a staff. The problem is that pure minions are unplayable right now and you have no reason to go full minions.

If every single weapon class has the same functionality, then playing all of them is going to feel the same and everybody is going to only ever use the swords just because the swords are faster.

If you could slam and charge perfect strike with a sword when why would you ever use a hammer?
Splitting the functionality introduces the tradeoffs and decisionmaking.

In game you go to the settings, I don't remember which submenu and you select it.
Item filter loaded successfully.
You can make your own or edit ones you download in a text editor but it's a pain.

Everyday i talk to people on other social media platforms, i realise how bad people are at basic mathematics.

first of all, rpgs have been doing this for a very long time, and i don't agree that it's some inherent flaw that must be addressed. one handed weapons should feel fundamentally different from 2h, ranged weapons should feel fundamentally different from melee, and so on. but should a giant 2 handed mace really feel that much fundamentally different from a giant 2 handed axe? to the extent that you can literally only crowd control with one weapon and you literally must weapon swap to the other one to do actual damage? this concept feels extremely contrived and unnecessary to me, which was my original point. ok thanks

i have my filter set up to show every potentially useful white or blue item, which i then slam "crafting" currency on. this gives you way more yellow items than just picking up rares from the ground, so you have a higher chance of "crafting" an upgrade.
if i really hated myself i would also store rare items in a stash tab so i can "reforge" (vendor recipe 3-1) them to effectively get 50% more yellow items. i just quit instead of doing that because it requires you to portal out 5 times per map to stash your rares.

Act 1 and 2 bosses are the hardest parts of the game outside of the anti gun ascendancy dungeons. Gear is 90% of your damage, tree is 10%, armor and evasion are 70% gear, 30% tree, es is 50/50, mom is 5% tree, 95% gear

After levelling my witch with the full meme ghostwrithe setup, i have to say demonform is pure kino and every roll should feel this good, you dont even need movespeed on your boots (sacreliege i know).

My issue with demonform is, that with the 10stack demonform shit you only get 180% spell damage and 25% cast speed, and +6 skill gems (eventually), which kinda just gets matched by a staff, so your kinda just using 2ascendancy points for the kino dodge.

Theres some reddit setups you can do infernalist, but as i found out doing softcore trade people are listing items with high flat regen for divs even when they are objectively ass otherwise. I blame mathil for this.

I would like if they changed the crit self damage node to be something abit more useful and make the infernal flame alittle less cringe with the flame balancing minigame. I think the ascendancy has potential to be my favourite but a few twinks would make it the most kino caster, but right now its abit of a memebuild ascend

i was excited to play dualwield titan because it was advertised as a legitimate playstyle and still is. many skills have interactions with dual wield that make them do fucking insane damage instead of just the innate dual wielding bonus of attack speed and block or whatever.
however this playstyle is not functional in the current state of the game, which i am voicing my complaint over. it is rather gay and rather lame indeed and you will not convince me otherwise.

thats a bit of an oversimplification but yes, its just javascript which generates a text file. poe1 filterblade has a feature where you can very easily make a filter that shows certain crafting bases. pic related is basically "show only the best pure es helmet and hide all others". making that work with poe2 would require wrangling all of the poe2 item bases into the website but that really should not be such a herculean task.

Actually? Yes, i like the idea. What's the power fantasy of swinging a giant hammer? To slam it so hard the earth fucking breaks, smash a goblin so hard it explodes. A fantasy of swinging the an axe? To cleave 10 enemies with one swing. The fantasy for swords is omnislash/judgenemt cut.

I don't think that clear should be exclusive to the axes and single target to hammers. Each should feel complete, but you also should be encouraged to mix and match.

You can play literally anything you want in Elden Ring, but switching to dagger for critical attacks if optimal. You can parry with your bare hand, but a small shield is optimal, you can even block with a greatsword, but a shield is much better and while some builds are better than other it's a sandbox and you are free to have your own fun.

It's a great design and i like it. Elden Ring permits you to beat the entire game with just hammer if you like it, cast spells with a magical dagger, launch your lance like a magical ATGM. flip over your hear with a mad berserk slash, blow freezing mist out of your sword, the special abilities are tied to specific weapons, but there's so many there's something for everyone.

I just picked % increased damage nodes and a few armour nodes and I am destroying the game since launch on titan
Not a single moment have i felt "wow the game is impossible" or even "this is extremely hard"
My damage fell off a slight bit during act 3 but i just slammed 2x fire damage sockets in my mace and I was going full power again

Later on, as per patch, they mentioned they want to add or change sections
The current layout is supposed to be the new player friendly one where you more or less play a class
There are like 4 fire spells right now so it wouldnt make sense to have a tab for fire only
Same for shields
But they did mention that once they have the basics and expected things in that they will expand on it

who cares how large a map is? 3 poe1 maps or 1 poe2 map wow same amount of mobs but poe1 you have to mess with your map device 2 extra times.

Actually I like it. It's the same feeling as Synthetik where the real killer if your hubris, the more powerful you get, the faster and more aggressive you play, the more fun you have, and eventually you lose control over yourself and get killed for having too much fun. You always keep it in the back of your mind that the mobs are inanimate scripted entities, and the real enemy is yourself.

But the backtracking ruins it.
having to go all the way back to pick up the last straggler and then do the league mechanics when the map is passed kills it.

Solution is - every map has a boss, you never have to kill all the elites and shit, and all league mechanics automatically activate when you get near, you can't come back for them later.

As you can see, lacking in any one of these three categories makes you unfit for Path of Exile 2, and dare I say, you probably should avoid Path of Exile 1 and stick to something like Diablo 4.

POE 1 had four types of shields.
>STR tower shields

which gave you evasion

They all counted as a shield and you could do shield charge with any of them.
Focus is no longer a shield so apparently they want to change that.

I think they will go for different skill sets for the different sets of shields.
Something like

>counterspell on the energy shields.

The problem with POE 1 was getting oneshot by a black arrow from a shitty little black skeleton in the darkness and never knowing what killed you.

So far I'm not feeling like I just died and I have no idea why. Killing a player for eating a well telegraphed attack is perfectly valid, killing a player for accidentally rolling damage reflect, or chos hits plus crit it bullshit.

However it's not all perfect. The game suffers from a horrendous case of pop-in, you may actually get bodied by the invisible enemies that didn't load yet, or step into an invisible delirium mirror you couldn't see.
The delirium is absolute bullshit, the fog obscures the normal visible enemies while the new delirium enemies fain to load and attack while invisible.

that shit is acutally a big technical fuck up they MUST refine before the release.

Literally unspect out of all those es nodes/mana nodes on the right side of the starting zone you have.

grab the large ES node and the minion node by taking the 1 travelnode from where you have already pathed to. Otherwise the rest is fine

You wouldn't be posting this way if you weren't failing at encounters. RNG is part of the game, and you can cope by calling it gambling, but you're GOING to find an upgrade, or at least the currency to buy the upgrade. In the mean time, stick to the content you can handle. You're not ready for T16. But if you try, just try your best to avoid being oneshot. See picrel for how I imagine you playing POE2.

Yes I have an M.2 SSD. I think this is a Vulkan issue, it seems that the game doesn't store any shaders and has to re-compile it in real time every single time. I can do several breach maps within one session, and the breach enemies will spawn invisible every single time, i just pause the game and let them compile their sharers for 20-40 seconds until it's done.

I'm currently playing with Vulkan because DX12 was frequently crashing at launch.

ok autistbro, let me break down the post to you. im going to throw in some reddit spacing to make you feel more comfortable.

my statement: the majority of the games "difficulty" does not require skill to overcome. it merely exists to annoy the player.

the example: the lever pull in augury. clearing out the adjacent rooms is not a challenge. it artificially slows down the player by forcing him to go forward, clear the rooms and then go back to the lever.
when people complain about the lever, this is what they complain about. they arent walking into the room unaware of the requirement to clear adjacent rooms, clicking on the lever and dying. they do the "mechanic" correctly and strongly dislike the process.

the other example: precursor towers. similar to needing to clear out adjacent rooms for the augury lever, you have to walk through the tower and click the thing to be able to use the tower. i assume you ignored this because even you can not confuse this tedium for a challenge. its a mechanic that only exists to pad out playtime and annoy the player.

we aren't talking about encounters. the loot system and crafting are not compelling in the slightest. the skill system has regressed to 'diablo 2 with extra steps', and the current endgame is pretty straightforward with the illusion of player agency. it's BORING. there isn't a reason to continue the game in its current state after finishing the campaign, however i did very much enjoy the campaign.

The obstacle exists to remind you that if you even think that it is an annoyance, then it means you're playing far too fast and should slow down. I'm not like you, a crackhead, who would be bothered by this.
