So the 50% increased small nodes ascendancy for the warrior, is it worth taking? It seems really really powerful at first glance, the tree forces you to pick a ton of random +damage% nodes that all gets 50% more value. But I'm wondering how good they actually are? If anything I'd prefer to get more value out of defensive nodes but there aren't as many good generic ones to grab, I was hoping to armormaxx with it but...

It's not a melee skill, it doesn't have the melee keyword, it's a projectile skill. Melee skills belong in the trash unless you have 15 attacks per second and can teleport around

Jesus, the game is fundamentally fucked. If you target an enemy that's on the ground / smaller than you your character will fire in the ground and the shots will not pierce. I noticed this first with the crossbow shotgun shots that have a guaranteed pierce 2 targets and I was wondering why the shots wouldn't pierce.

The workaround is to target behind the enemy because then you won't fire into the ground, but that won't work if you're playing with a controller. Massive oversight for a game that's designed like a twin stick shooter.

There might be a few b8 guides but should be alright.
The game is oddly hard to fuck up, even if you don't like a build you can always look up something else (that uses the same ascendancy), the only issue is it'll cost a bit of gold to respec.

In a similar way, Monk's Bell does not get targeted by an attack, you got to shift-click next to it.

its extra content in maps in the endgame
you have 3 to 4 ritual altars with mechanics depending on the type of ritual you rolled on your map
all mobs that spawn inside the ritual altar on map creation have to be killed to arm the respective ritual altar then during the ritual they respawn and have to be killed again
they reward tribute
each ritual resummons the monsters form the prior rituals on that map
the resummoned monsters decrease in tribute value granted to you
so its best to first clear the map and all ritual altars and start the ritual where you have had the most monsters linked to the altar in order to maximize the tribute outcome
the higher the rarity the more tribute you get per kill
you can reroll(dismiss) the first favors page offered to you once per map but you cannot undo this choice
form my experience the favors have been greatly buffed in comparrison to poe1

king of the mists used to be able to be encountered with a special map that you had a chance on being offered as a favor at rituals in your maps not sure what they have planned in poe2 as you already encountered him during the campaign

oh also ritual is afaik he only place wohere you cna buy omens when offered as favor
omen is a item that is destroyed when used
you put them in your inventory and activate them with a right click
then it empowers the use of your crafting mats like orb of alchemy

when used the orb of alchemy with the omen provides all six modifierts when casting a nromal item into a rare quality one

thats all i know about ritual

I had no issues with spark, even early on, the low damage wasn't too bad because of how many sparks there were. iirc I used faster casting (might've been unleash) + faster projectiles.

it's especially noticeable when the console lock-in system kicks in on PC for some reason and the character shoots an enemy that's not even where my cursor is

It's just so tiresome. I was having a ton of fun with crossbows, didn't even care about any other classes, but an interaction that is THIS fundamental to the gameplay means the game has a lot of legwork ahead of itself. I joined EA because the game seemed surprisingly solid, but the paint is coming off quickly. I might replay poe1 one more time now or go for something else entirely, but I feel I'm done with poe2 until it gets out of EA.

It was okay. Campaign bosses felt really fair and punishes you for being greedy. There are some bullshit involved in the boss fights but overall a good experience. Normal maps in the campaign was good up until Act 3. Act 1 was short and full of interesting stuff. Desert theme in Act 2 was okay but the enemies there were starting to reach 'bullshit' territory. Act 3 was just bad. Map was too big and wasn't interesting to look at and the normal enemies were just unfair.
I feel like it's a type of game where you die over and over to learn which is something I don't really like. You need to have meta knowledge to make the Acts bearable and for new players it's going to suck.

As for maps it sucks. League mechanics (Breach and Delirium) is designed to go fast. But their vision for the game is for it to be slow paced. The two league mechanics doesn't really fit. Rituals are kinda awkward, no good loot in them and because the maps feels so claustrophobic that you have such a small space to work with. And when enemies dog pile you then it feels unfair.

For Ascendancy stuff I feel that it's overtuned to hell and back. It's just not fair. Enemies are so fast and you get really bad debuffs along with it.

I could go on and on but those are the biggest gripes I have with the game.

I am kinda new. I played back in 2014 and stopped at around 2017 and just came back to PoE2.

I love POE2. I have 150 hours in less than 2 weeks. I've never been all that into Diablo type games even though I've played about 20 hours of each, so I only played POE1 for about 10 hours. Now that I'm in my late 30s and I'm an old hag with no reflexes playing this type of laid back, easy genre is cozy and enjoyable. Making builds that nuke the map without any effort and committing warcrimes is really nice. I'm enjoying maps as an end game and grinding for that perfect build is a nice way to pass the time. I also enjoy that each map only takes a little bit of time so I can easily quit out if I need to.

You don't. Weapon skills scale on their own or are upgraded to your highest skill, I haven't figured which. However when I upgraded my galvanic shards to level 16 basic shot became level 16 as well all on it's own and when I used a jewellers orb on my galvanic shards my basic shot suddenly got more support slots as well.

Use your towers. Look for towers close together and clear them first while running the least amount of nodes with league mechanics in them. This way when you put in a tablet the effects overlap and stack together. Now run the league mechanics. If you have a boss node in there then run your juciest map there. They drop the most waystones.

That depends on your gear entirely. One lucky piece can shred the difficulty. I was spamming a single skill throughout cruel because I got lucky with a weapon roll in cruel act1. Same is true for normal mode btw. However, I agree since I just started a new game with a fresh character and I am really enjoying the slow pace. I think I'm gonna play ruthless ssf poe1 next.

I only bother egg salting them if I plan to use them on a boss node.
Basically transmute + augment for nodes WITHOUT league mechanics or nodes that haven't been buffed by towers. Then once I have buffed towers I only regal waystones that I plan to run league mechanics on. Then egg salt waystones for boss nodes.

A single spark projectile damage is shit. That's why you want to give it pierce since if will go through the enemy and hit it multiple times if it's in a small room since the projectiles bounce.

Blood mage uses both mana and health. Want to cast a spell that costs 200 mana? Well you gotta pay another 200 health. It's so bad. They spawn life remnants which can heal you but you're using your health pool so much that it barely does nothing.
it's really bad. the only way for it to be okay is to take blood magic node. It's what I did on my melee blood mage. But you asked for a good build and melee blood mage is just bad.

Magic Find has always been this good, even in PoE 1. It's just that PoE 1 has way more crafting systems to make serviceable gear compared to PoE 2 currently.
What people are actually upset about is that they can't reliably make usable gear. MF is probably never going to get touched because it isn't the real problem.

i usually get 5-10 t12+ maps per map, and 3-5 extra t15s if its a boss. also tablet effect is very strong and you should be running irradiated whenever you can (can add a league mechanic if you find a good group of towers too, just dont add multiple different mechanics its better to stack the tablet effect for one type)

does anyone else keep running into maps where sections are cut off with no way to access them, making them impossible to finish?
just now it even happened during the main campaign, the praetor's tomb is accessible but his wife's tomb is in a section of the map that is completely cut off with no way to get there

As I approach 158 hours into this game I can safely say that it has some serious issues
>Breach is the only activity that is cost effective
>Items plateau very fucking hard at the end game, and you will be fighting for marginal upgrades very soon
>There must be 5 uniques that have use in the game, all the rest is useless disenchant fodder, to make headhunter, one of the 5 uniques that have use
>Drop rates are severely fucked, no greater essence drops, waystone drop rates are utterly fucked and require you to dedicate your entire atlas tree just to have a normal drop chance, leading to only boss nodes to be worth your time and the rest is filler.

All in all, a severely fucked endgame, I couldnt recommend someone to play the game as is right now

It's why I stopped playing league. At the time I was only able to play an hour or so a week. Wasn't enough time to actually enjoy the game before my character gets moved and I have to start a new league.
Standard is okay, less league mechanics but I don't really care. And while my characters are in trade league (because I was poor at the time when I started I couldn't buy bank stash I just made multiple accounts and used those as extra storage) I don't participate in trade at all.
I would say try out a league then if you think you can tolerate making a new character every league then keep playing new leagues. If not then just stay in standard.

Waystones are fine once you have all 30 points, just spec out nearly the whole top section and then go down the right side

The only real problem is that none of the mechanics are rewarding until you buy some invites for the atlas points

Meh, I'm not exactly new, I played hundreds of hours of D2 two decades ago and I played probably 500 hours of poe1, but mostly on and off and never very seriously, mostly following fotm guides without any clear idea of wtf I'm actually doing. I'm not a newb, but far from having any clear understanding how to reliably clear pinnacle bosses.

At the same time D2 feels so utterly dated whenever I try to get back into it. It's like every class has the bare minimum, even when tweaked to the maximum possible in terms of interactivity.

T15 stones are indeed fucked, even with the atlas nodes it seems like you are supposed to push your magic find closer to 100% the closer you get to T15 just to get them to drop.

When I run multiple 300%+ waystone drop chance T13 and 14 maps and I get more T1-6 maps than 13+ something is severely wrong.

He's right though. If the generation algorithm has a rare chance of producing a bricked result that you cannot easily fix, you check the result (in this case, that the atlas is connected) and if it's bad, you just re-generate it.

you misunderstand me. i've played poe1 on and off over the years. the league mechanics are poorly explained (basically not explained at all in game). add to the fact that there are like 12 unique systems to craft and do other stuff on top of what the game launched with, let alone how to run that league content efficiently or even what the point is. it's overwhelming.
