PoE2 is an utter mess and I'm tired of pretending its not.

Tired of my minions Infernalist, I've played for 100 hours with no rarity on gear and only found 1 (one) [uno] Divine Orb, no 6-L. I don't even have Vaal orbs anymore for T15 into T16 corruption.
Level 90 now and ready for a reroll.

Is warrior actually miserable to play compared to other classes? I hear that playing warrior boils down to basically abusing hammer of the gods or abusing shockwave totem with +skills. Is that really what the warrior offers?

What content is included?

Even in Early Access, Path of Exile 2 is a big game. It includes a significant campaign of Three Acts as well as a rich endgame. At the start of Early Access there will be 50 bosses, and around 400 monster types. We’ll be adding content to roughly double the size of the game during Early Access and into Release.

50 hours on sorc is like 150 hours on warrior.

like you can do everything in maps fine but its very slow and very boring and you are forced to stack as much armour/life/block chance as possible or you will just die.
which means you have to let go of more damage and magic find making you slower and poorer.

Warrior was my 1st character I played through the campaign and Early Maps, I didn't really have a problem.
But now having played other characters, yeah its pretty shit in comparison, it's strengths (heh) don't outweigh its weaknesses.

They need to consider cutting the slow windup animations for nearly all the abilities, what the fuck were they thinking with sunder.
Warrior was one of the first classes they made for PoE 2, so it was a showcase for all their gay new fancy animations. Needs to be re-examined and brought inline with the newer classes that are quicker and more snappy.

What has Alkaizer said about warrior thus far? I think Krip made something on why armor is bad. For me, warrior is fun but outside looking in, its shit compared to what other classes have been doing. That spark electrocute shit the stormweavers do doesn't even seem possible with warrior abilities etc. However, people also say that the warrior is gimped the most because the other STR based weapons aren't in yet. So axes don't exist and flails don't exist yet. So its hard to really mix and match with the warrior.

If you're starting from scratch it can probably help you get started, but otherwise I wouldn't say it's essential. Mind you shit like divs and excellent uniques can still drop throughout the campaign, it's just that it's not the most optimal way to get those.

Warrior was clearly designed before they even considered implementing WASD into the game, where all the spell and ranged classes were designed post WASD and their ability kits are far more mobile and responsive.

Its fine if the abilities are slow. Its bad if they are slow and deal no damage. I think what they were going for with the warrior is that they want you to sort of setup your damage. Like prime the enemies for stun and then boneshatter etc. Drop the earth shatters and then detonate with a warcry and then use your exerts for big shit while everything is stunned. In practice, it may not really work like that though.

You have to kill a shocked enemy* Which is perfectly fine because if you are doing lightning damage then you will be shocking enemies regularly.
Ice requires you to kill a frozen enemy which again makes perfect sense because you are naturally going to be freezing enemies if you are doing ice damage.
What I don't understand is why Ash requires you to overkill, specifically. If it follows the pattern it should require you to kill a burning enemy.

That's only part of the problem. The issues with warrior right now are:

All they need to do is make it so you can adjust your positioning and re-aim your slower attacks.

There is no reason while I'm doing my 4-5 second long Supercharged Slam that I have to be completely stationary, locked in place and initial attack direction.
I should be able to walk slowly around and swivel my characters attack direction so I can make adjustments to compensate for enemies moving during the windups.
The amount of times I would charge my slam or sunder and the boss would just walk 1-2m out of range and completely avoid the attack was infuriating.

I already did. never needing line of sight is godly especially in cramped maps like crypt and augary. that saves me from taking so much damage

and on unique bosses you can precast so there's 100 sparks waiting on the ground once the boss is finally damagable

also they all run MoM/EB so you have 7k mana, 2k mana regen/second, and just face tank everything

im trying to make melee blood mage and the game is tuned in the way that makes changing weapon for better ones every few level is mandatory, otherwise the leveling is just miserable in comparison to quarterstaff, bow/crossbow and spark
in fact your passive tree means very little in comparison to the weapon untill certain threashold many hours into the game

Noob here, I made a warrior and just killed Geonor, took me about 5 tries. But I will say this, we suck. There is a number of reasons, but the core boils down to;
>slow
A good portion of your Mace animation are hard locked to specific times or add time onto your already slow movements. Sunder for example adds more than a whole second onto your attack regardless of anything else.
>Bizare anti-synergy
The original idea behind warrior was to be closer to what they showcased in the original videos years and years ago. Slower, more methodical and brutal combat. You block on time, you stun your enemies, you use your stun breaking execute attack, you use combo abilities then explode those abilities.
In practice, these are not only time consuming, but don't work properly. If you stack stun, you will break their stun before you can use your actual dedicated stun breaker. Combo abilities that are that slow, lock you in place while other classes can move and shoot at the same time. It's a class that is at odds with itself.
>Garbage Defensives
Without health and without Endurance Charges, we have to rely entirely on Block and Armor. Armor itself though sucks. The mechanics behind it don't actually give you 80% defense if your tooltip says that, instead it's only 80% if you're fighting trash who would never threaten you anyway. That boss that one shots people is still going to one-shot you. You as a Warrior have the lowest EHP of all classes, when you're in the most risk of all classes.

So yes - Warrior is dog shit. I love being a big meaty Warrior man and I will continue to play Warrior. But I will seethe at it at every opportunity.

The only viable minions at the start are Raging Skulls.
If you want to run surrounded by the meaty skeletons who chop enemies with the swords and shoot arrows, you'll be disappointed - they are undertuned and game's engine makes their usage very clunky.
I hear different things about Reavers and Arsonists but personally didnt have much fun with them untill the endgame.

There's going to be massive balance shakeups after Christmas/NY is over. No one knows what state Warrior will be in a few weeks from now. Maybe it could be ultra meta due to changes or new skills/weapons being added. But the important thing is that you could have a high level Warrior by the time that happens and can reap the benefits without rerolling.

If you care about endgame currency farming/value, Warrior is extremely shit with Giant's Blood needing better than average items + MF. It can work but it's objectively harder than ranged.

Most fun was probably Gemling Merc, although that could mostly be attributed to adaptive capability making the whole process far less tedious.

I like the trade economy in HC in PoE 1. That makes it a lot more enjoyable than SC for me. Items have and retain a lot of value and I like that my decisions and gearing and build matter a lot more because I need to be able to not die. It has nothing to do with ego or anything. I don't intend to play HC on PoE 2 until the full game launches but I imagine it will feel the same.

Also it's much easier to design something that's anti-melee over anti-ranged. Even things that target ranged by their nature end up targeting melee too while the reverse is rarely true. The tradeoff is usually tankiness and/or better dps in melee range and none of those things are true. Hammer Warrior is basically a nuke-n-run hope the boss dies in one hit because you'll be running around otherwise for 24 seconds. Most of the melee bitching atm is justified.

All ailments scale with hit damage so it is kind of a stupid support to begin with because you can scale your hit damage way higher than you can scale your magnitude - especially if you build crit. I assume it could maybe work well with gas arrow because you won't be caring about the damage of the hit from that skill to begin with but I don't know for sure. I have not played with the poison skills too much yet.

Just slot it into various skills and check your tooltip damage, that's the best you can do right now until PoB comes out.

Ranger is the privilege class and has survived years in PoE1 despite much worse classes getting fucking massacred for being good just once. I just want Warrior to feel less shit. I don't even need to be comparable to other builds. I just want things on it to make sense. I want Armor to get a rework. I want the mace skills to be like twice as fast. I want at least a couple health nodes around our area or again, armor to get a serious enough rework that makes it worth it, especially given the amount of armour nodes around Warriors side to again, make Warrior worth it.

I don't need to be on the same level as Invoker or Deadeye or whatever else.

clocked 45 hours of PoE2 so far
PoE 2 is definitely a good game and im enjoying my playtime ( only played PoE for around 100 hours, so i dont have any special attachment to it )
i have leveled a warrior and a mercenary to level 20+, and started on witch with minions yesterday - want to have a taste of each class before investing more time

and i have to say that minions-path is by far the easiest at this point - it might change in act2 and further, but oh my, how im blazing through trashmobs right now! level 14 and approaching the manor now
seems to be the optimal way to go for grinding items - im sure i will have issues with tougher bossfights, but for clearing maps its great!

thats all i had to say, and now im going back to the game

Funnily enough, armor does noticeably affect the two trial bosses, to the point that the sekhemas boss does 0 damage compared to the random fucking sprites on floor 4. I can only imagine they handcrafted those fights but then just threw the entire map endgame system into their shitty algorithm. Curve definitely needs to be flattened for the big hits.

I didn't force melee, YOU forced melee by not bringing proper crowd control tools and focusing on run speed to keep enemies at bay. If you do end up in melee, then you should weapon swap and focus on stunning enemies to then....make distance. Stop acting like this is some unachievable gameplay loop in an ARPG. Make his corpse explodey nodes give more consistent explosions but for less damage and add flat +damage to undead and demons on them

Rework the "extra weapon skill points" nodes entirely, they're a meme

Attrition costs 30 spirits and scales better at later levels

The trialmaster does a 5k slam that negates 30% of phys resistance meaning with 25k armor you turn a 5k hit into a 4k hit.
Thanks GGG for this great mechanic that says the boss doesn't give a shit about armor and thank you for putting that mechanic on 90% of the melee hits. Amazing design.

Because PoE2 is the result of a Bootstrap Time Paradox, I guaran-fucking-tee it. All the shit happens in PoE1, we reach PoE2 and we don't have the juice to deal with the Beast now. So we're sent back to grab Doryani, who learns of the Beast's corruption and we end up releasing the gods we defeat in PoE1, we defeat the Beast but Doryani grabs it and fucks back off to his timeline, gives it to Atziri who then causes the fall of the Vaal empire and all that shit, basically looping in on itself. The end-point of PoE2 will be to stop the loop and Alva will sacrifice herself because she's the center of it.

BTPs are the lazy writer's time travel plot device, which is why I think it's almost guaranteed to be some manner of variation of a BTP.

Witchhunter is fun but half their nodes need to be overhauled. Sorcery ward doesn't seem strong enough to cost half your evasion/armor, the concentration nodes are useless, and nobody will ever take the weapon swap node.

But it isn't, you're using a considerably weaker skill because you're trying to stun not do damage and you yourself want that skills damage to be halved (which would be reflected in the stun buildup).
You don't understand the game at all and you're just having a sook that your shitty build isn't viable.
