But druid/huntress were confirmed to be the first ones to be added by Jonathan himself (unless the plans change)
Druid was missing 1 of the 3 forms (1 is confirmed bear, 1 is the werewolf, last one is unknown)
Spear was essentially done but needed a balance pass and support gems ect.

I have my 2nd ascendancy. I took the Arcane Surge nodes and the +50% regen when moving. I don't have EB yet. Mainly because I'm so squishy and I need the ES.
I play SSF so I can't just buy my gear.
It's why I asked if it needs good gear to even work in the first place.

dont make poe2 into poe1

1 shotting screens of enemies is not fun and the majority of the poe1 playerbase agrees with this because they leave after the first couple weeks after getting their cosmetics, there is no gameplay keeping them there playing and its what poe2 needs to do differently to get and KEEP new players playing the game, it needs to be unique in its identity to poe1 otherwise why even play poe1 at this point if its 1 shot central for endgame they will nerf the fuck out of all builds and it will be for the good of the game act1-3 is the most fun part about poe2 and its because you combo enemies you dont 1 shot them, you deal with boss mechanics because you dont 1 shot them

you want this in endgame, the problem with endgame is the systems they need poe1 endgame systems with act1-3 gameplay e.g bosses in every map, league mechancs packed throughout maps good loot dropping from these mechanics similar pinnicle farming

thats the way forward for poe2 not this poe1 clone with nice graphics bullshit its boring as fuck

i wrote it on /v/ and im reposting it here for GGG devs lurking to see stick to the vision dont make poe 1 part 2 make poe2

The strongest defensive layers are on the summoner (infernalist) which falls off really hard, invoker (evasion phys DR) and titan (hulking form)
The highest damaging builds are HotG titan and Pillar Gemling, both melee builds, with stormweaver being meta because of clear and MF, nothing to do with defense or high damage, it's just very item budget friendly to run MF on

What I'm saying is that you're simply wrong

I don't think you understand - EB makes you way less squishy because now your mana and shield get combined into one huge HP pool, and now you no longer have to waste any time on shield recharge delay (and no longer have to waste passive points on recharge delay shield nodes)

as for good gear, I wouldn't call a low roll everlasting gaze that expensive, I managed to afford one before doing my first map.

it is the reward for playing
i am fine with it. it's also fine to stop playing after a new fresh
if the final goal of 2-3 weeks of 8hours/day of grinding is not spectacular (zoomie) I don't think that would be a good thing
The game is almost solely about character growth and poe1 played like dogshit, but the underlying systems made it fun
d4 for example actually plays quite well but it's everything around it, from skill balance and numerics to legendaries, set based progression, ancient items ect. that fuck the game fundamentally

I basically don't have any gear. My HP is around 700, ES is around 800 and MP is around 800 also.
What I'm worried is when I use Mana Tempest my MP goes down QUICK. So I basically lower my HP every spell I cast. Or do I just not run Mana Tempest?

How relevant PDR in this game actually? For a "melee" that explodes a screen of enemies with one storm wave and if you are ever hit, it's probably some kind of an elemental AoE

You drop it but you still do damage when it winds up. What I do is use it and if I can get a Perfect Strike off then that's just more damage+DoT. Or if it get's too serious and crowded just use Raise Shield and just not die.

50% less recovery seems hard, and if you can keep your life equal to the % of damage taken from mana before life it essentially serves the same purpose as MoM without the massive hit to regen
You can then also benefit from life regen and recovery effects like recoup by taking split damage

font of mana on orb of storms is great, the millisecond I see something high damage on the edge of my screen, I can orb of storm at my feet to immediately give me a big boost to mana regen

EB+MoM+font of mana+mana flask = so much regen you can face tank bosses in low tier maps with shitty gear

This is great when it works, but you're leaving out the on-death effects, the rare modifiers that blap you out of absolutely nowhere, the ranged shit getting behind you and deleting you. The occasional slam that you don't see because you're pixel hunting for glowing (not actually) red circles.
Perfect strike also leads to me getting killed very quickly and suddenly, very often. And thats with a one hander optimized for attack speed.

I mean nice when it works. Until it doesn't. And now you're dead. This is shit that ranged characters just don't deal with. Now that reflect is gone they just keep blasting and not give a fuck.

if you consider the time it takes your average non-optimal jobber to get there on a subsequent playthrough, lets say 20 hours? (poeggers will most likely do it within 8-10) and then the build popping off after roughly 30-40 (with popping off I mean Pillar Gemling-tier)
I think that's a fair amount of time to start blasting
You do some pinnacles and then you beat the game really
Maybe target some league rewards +- 20 more hours

I think this is a good time, if you want to go beyond that by either playing ssf or hc or ssfhc for a challenge or vibe or make new builds or just really try to wring out every possible power out of your build then that's just what I consider postgame and it doesn't really matter.

I completely agree. It's literally the point of them making a second game. PoE2 is not PoE1. One button screen-clearing builds are boring as fuck because the final goal is for them to literally all do the same thing with a slightly different explosion colour ala Mass Effect.
PoE1's redeeming trait was the diversity of the Atlas. The gameplay itself was menial bullshit that's the exact same between every build, with all "building" pretty much just being a balancing act to figure out how you can barely avoid being oneshot while getting enough damage to oneshot everything else yourself. The only reason I even came back each league is because I was hoping it was the league where they made melee fun, but every time ranged characters just did literally everything better, but at a distance, and there was zero fundamental reason to make a melee when the faggots with energy shield were always going to be tankier each league.

What do you know, it's the exactly the same as the current endgame and everyone fucking hates it. But at least PoE1 had the content depth to make it not as boring.

The only reason to get the 200k+ armor Jug shit back in 1 was explicitly for the pinnacle oneshots where it might help you survive, or altar modifiers of like "-50000 armor"
Otherwise everything past like 80k had fuck all real difference because of diminishing returns. At that point, you went for extra layers of mitigation instead of more armor

Effectively nothing changed, but actual freeze Monk was never really a thing past a certain point. You always put on Charged Staff because it basically quadruples your damage, and at that point you're more or less guaranteed to shock things
Freeze Monk and lightning Monk are the exact same shit unless you happen to want to run Storm Wave as your main DPS and be be ranged

Armour works better against smaller hits
Its why monk's Phys DR% is so strong, it's actual 40% reduction instead of 40%~ish (60% vs small mobs and 20% vs large mobs)
It also works better the more phys dmg taken you convert to other elements

spark flamewall sorc was way harder than any quarterstaff or bow build i've tried so far
everything kills you in act1-2 and i had to actually use +hp runes in my gear to survive
the dmg is sub-par unless you get a giga staff, but that's for all the builds (besides bows and minions)

I don't think you're too far off, this is basically the first major complaint mathil had about the game. even when playing weird off meta shit like hexblast demon or lightning warp monk or SRS comets, there's ultimately so little build variety, you are railroaded into the same nodes and gear a lot harder than poe1, and there's way less useful uniques that would help spice things up.

Normally I say the exact same things, but the imbalance between classes and possible choices you can make is staggering. Many parts of the game are literally unplayable if you lock yourself into an F-tier path, and many more parts are 50x slower and more miserable for the C-D tiers.

It's not an MMO where you do what you want and find your niche. There is strictly better and worse.

It was Lightning/Cold with Heralds
I swapped to using Combat Frenzy instead of Siphoning Strike and it's fine against packs because one Storm Wave will proc something for sure, but against bosses I have to electrocute/freeze to even get Charged Staff active and if I've already got them electrocuted/frozen I should just be beating them to death with Tempest Flurry and Bell

There's a lot of leeway I'm honestly willing to give them for EA, even with them having charged for it. Like survivability layers falling apart at the end game of Cloak of Flame is dumb but it's understandable. Imbalanced ascendancies, bad skill distribution, an imperfect tree, whatever. That's shit I expect to get fixed over time.

What I can't fucking understand is people who defend choices like rarity which is so fucking retarded it's mind boggling. We dealt with this shit before. Or things like the god awful crafting situation. Or the map system being so incredibly frustrating and intensely boring at the same time. there's so many interactions/bugs in poe2 that existed in poe1 years ago but got patched out, that they somehow reintroduced. like the 200% temporal chains just permanently freezing all monsters which breaks the game because now even unique bosses can't damage you. that's somehow still in poe2 even after all the patches, even though they had to patch that out of poe1 years ago

I really hope skin transfer tickets will allow you to permanently "absorb" any item in the game into MTX
Some of the armor looks really cool and I dislike the flamboyuant nature of the majority of the MTX in the game

I think its link to being interrupted while reloading automatically (dodge, stun etc.)
Then the automatic reload doesn't happen anymore, you can't shoot anymore and you have to manually reload it
that's the conclusion i arrived to after countless hours in maps

It would mean people who actually invest into strength get a good amount of life, but there's the possibility of nodes like Gemlings applying after increase% so they don't just go to the moon (not that it happens right now but it could potentially happen), and of course people who don't invest into strength just don't get life because there's not much to increase.

There probably was, there was a quest in the zone that no one was able to get to spawn and that was the theorized location of it. It's the same for the tools from the Maw Quarry of whatever it's called (except apparently you could get that one to spawn if you got enough items from the chest).

But yeah I don't bother with armor pierce, I do my armor breaking with the flash grenade using the break armor on heavy stun skill. Which also has armor explosion so if they're alive they're usually ignited. And I have the fire exposure on stun node.

Just now getting to T10 maps so I doubt its good end game but I'm having fun taking it to whatever conclusion it ends at.

I play Monk and I hope Charged Staff gets nerfed because you're forced to use it. At least the class is designed around the bell, but it seems balanced based on the assumption you use Charged Staff. Playing without it is fucking miserable vs pinnacles compared to other classes

New players are in for a rough time, PoE 2 suffers from meta chasing harder than PoE did in my opinion. You die, you lose your map and your content and can't progress as fast. Shit builds aren't just shit, it means you physically have nothing to farm. No light at the end of the tunnel, only hope is picking up rares to turn into 3.0 harbinger pennies while meta chasers bask in wealth on trade. Because of this I genuinely think PoE is easier for a new player than PoE 2. Even if you fuckup, there are portals, if you really done bad there is gold for a respec. Even if you can't run higher tier maps, there are essences. Even if you aren't efficient with your time, there are good layouts to spam. For trade players, PoE 2 seems like a net negative experience, economy wise.

Armor is absolutely fine and good except for the situation where the monsters can armor break you and you just die. That's pretty retarded. But armor is really strong and people are fucking retarded. All the big hits armor doesn't do anything on you're supposed to dodge. All the smaller hits it does do a ton on would kill you really fast if not for armor.

Galv shards is great, lightning is probably the best build since you have shockburst rounds for bossing. Plasma blast is actually really fun but the charge time makes it useless outside of opening a boss fight with it. High velocity with lightning infusion and scattershot is pretty solid for building shock
Frag rounds has decent clear but the cold skills suck balls so you have no burst
Hailstorm/rapid shot/armour piercing are garbage

Lot more stuff you can do to interact with your army and a lot more temporary minions to summon. Overall if you went straight bone and zombie you'd have tons of actions per second. Kind of engaging once it gets going.

But, if you just go SRS you get a far better results for less effort.

I can't even understand how anyone can think armour is fine. Like forget ES which is obviously overtuned, an evasion layer does the same job as armour in your described scenario but better mechanically because it's mitigating the amount of light hits you take. Both effectively reduce the incoming hit damage by the same amount in packs.

The issue is that evasion also reduces elemental hit damage so by default, it's just strictly better at the same value. The kicker though, is that evasion is far easier to scale in this game. Wind dancer is extremely strong as a conditionless buff and the upside on it makes it very unlikely for you to suffer consecutive hits and get mobbed.

Armour is just factually the weakest defensive layer by all metrics and by all evidence and the gap is not small.

The idea is to grab it and stack evasion so that you get the benefit of armour (phys reduction) without needing to invest into armour.
The prior node makes it senseless to use an armour chest piece, so you're meant to just stack evasion.and ES.

Deadeye is busted and shilled but quite a few crossbow skills actually don't benefit much from the ascendancy which was a smart design.

The bigger problem is that mercenary just straight up has zero synergy with crossbows on either ascendancy. It's really silly. In a lot of cases it has anti synergy even. Decimating strike can go dead on gas grenades or oil. Concentration doesn't work with ignite or bleed.

Titan is also better than merc on most crossbow builds and unlike Deadeye, Titan is not a God tier ascendancy. Chances are that of the 11 ascendancies they're adding that will be able to easily spec into crossbows, half of them will actually be better than WH and Gemling at crossbows. Maybe the only reason we don't see crossbow invokers is that they're too far to path comfortably

Wrong, it just doesn't have exclusive synergy with crossbows.
Explosions synergize with having to reload/cooldowns, so does cull, and most gemling offensive nodes (+levels, quality, being able to use 2 of the same supports) translate well to crossbows, letting you use 2x payload and such.

You are way too fucking stupid to be this contrarian holy shit.

Galvanic shards among others fire multiple small projectiles that combine damage. Due to this extra projectiles adds very little additional damage to the shots. Less than 10% more in some cases. And before you say anything like "the tooltip says it fires a bolt that splits", it's just flavor text. The actual game calculate 10 separate projectiles on fragmentation for example so you only go to 11.

Explosion does not supplement reload and cooldowns. Kill propagation does nothing to mitigate the mechanics on its own. It isn't synergy by any definition of the word even liberally. Neither contributes to the efficacy of the other. Cull is in a similar boat. You don't know what synergy means. In the latter case the gutted nature of cull in fact is anti synergistic because the entire grenade playstyle actually doesn't work with cull due to burst overwriting the mechanic and your dot effects not interacting with it at all.

Very few crossbow skills actually get good scaling from levels or quality. Levels can in fact actually be detrimental to some of them due to rising mana costs on the class with the worst access to mana in the entire game and a core mechanic that requires multiple instances of mana expenditure at once. You only really get multiple supports from gemling in most set ups, but several crossbow builds like lightning for example actually rely on a set up and payoff mechanic that doesn't overlap supports to begin with

Hulking form boosts small nodes. This means that titan gets faster reload speeds, bigger aoes and more grenades on top of plain damage scaling which lets it do shit like throw explosive grenades that literally cover the entire screen or get instant reloads on bolts. My only saving grace is my Persistent Buff allows me a support gem that grants 30% Mana Regen at all times, but if that buff doesn't work put later on, I might be screwed. Basically mandatory to have an auto refilling Mana Pot at that point. Just glad I'm figuring out these trap options now as opposed to the "full release."

Yes. It lets you stack Evasion and then get the benefit of armor too. It's arguably one of the best defensives in the game. Sure, Armor sucks, but this is a secondary layer on top of Evasion which is decent. Combined, you're now good.

The only way to leech off elemental hits and spells is blood mage ascendiary, which is a brick. Even then it's hp leech. To add salt to the wound leech itself is bad because leech resistance is stupidly overtuned.
