I don't understand what I'm even doing wrong. I'm not even in t15s and whatnot yet. I'm still hovering around t10s. I have 15k Armor. Capped Resistance, including chaos. I have 75% block. I have over 5k HP. I'm about as beefy as you can be in POE2. I don't understand why I keep getting one-tapped.

I did trial of the suggmas at around 85 and it was fairly easy, you definitely want to get the increased speed boon asap and I'd imagine most of the run comes down to buff and debuff luck. The final boss takes FOREVER to kill if your damage is shit.

Is it possible to make a... Energy Shield Warrior (or Witch)? How can I get back Energy Shield quickly? I think there is something like 4% energy shield per killing shocked enemy. If I had 10k ES, that's 400 ES per enemy. Not bad. Capped Block on top of that would be monstrous at least for general mapping. Maybe Witch. But then that leaves me open for a way to apply shocked easily, which wouldn't work that well with things like Stampede and Armor Explosion. Kinda shit. Fuck me.

sanctum is pretty easy with capped honour res and even if you struggle with it, you can just get a lucky run that makes it a lot easier
i would advise you to look up the boss fight beforehand unless you feel like doing it twice because there is a near 0% chance of you beating it blind
also make sure that you can fight for multiple minutes without using mana flasks, this might require some reallocating of passive points into more mana regen (you can do it right before you go into the boss)

What about a MoM build.

Mana from kills is relatively easy to get. Same with Mana leech on Physical. Wait - wouldn't work unless you had a shit load of currency. You'd need like 400+ STR just for the weapons. Which would need to be going into Int.

Definitely, after min maxing my relics for honor res and max honor it made a gigantic difference, I'm at the point where I'm thinking of slotting in boss damage of some kind to help with the last boss to make runs quicker.

pro tip, use 2 medium relics with 2 or 3 added merchant choices and you will breeze through sanctum. makes it very easy to get boons like movespeed, see 1 additional room ahead, more dmg and less enemy hp

Looks like cast on minion death. Use the amulet that ignites you when you deal damage. Then take the node that gives your amulet stats to your minions. Use a low level Raging Spirit for less hp. When they attack they die, and they're very aggressive so they die often. Then just spam firewall.

Yeah it's fucking stupid, even with the best possible atlas nodes I couldn't sustain maps past tier 6 until I juiced up to 50%+ magic find. I spent two days without seeing a T15 drop from T13-14 maps until I bumped it up to 118% magic find.

it's using the ring not the amulet, and it's using barrier invocation not cast on death. It's a bugged interaction with SRS where it's not supposed to count re summoning them as dying and it doesn't work on any other minion

You can double cast spells that you wouldnt normally be able to if you socket them multiple times
Like Tempest bell, for example, you can put two down if you socket two tempest bell skill gems

I unironically hope they add Huntress/Druid and do a reset in January. Use it as a chance to remove/remake MF, balance ES/Armor, and do a few changes to end game. If they're able to do that for a mid/end of January thing I'd be really happy.
I think I am at the point where I need to take a break because I have way too much time in the game already with a level 94 and a level 93 character and like 40 divines in my stash.

I have a server running 24/7 and I check it often to see any hiccups. Whenever the game has a massive latency spike I would check my server if anything happened and it's all clean.

People are starting to figure out how bad armor actually is in POE2 and now they're trying to find ways to mitigate physical damage, without changing to ES completely and basically having to remake as a Witch or something else.

Cloak of Flames makes a portion of physical damage go through your fire resistance, which is a much better defensive modifier. It's arguably a end game phys armor chest.

That's literally what I signed up for with PoE2, yes. Every single trailer released was all about it being a slow-paced combo system. It's literally the point of it being a new game instead of just being some special new league in PoE1.
Gut the fuck out of 1 button builds and giga immortality builds. Doesn't matter the class, just kill it. Make me want to use multiple abilities and make it satisfying. Right now the game is too barebones to pull it off, but that doesn't matter. If they take PoE1's Atlas tree and put it in that system, it will be game of the decade. If they fail and it's just one button builds again, they've learned nothing for over a decade and I couldn't give a fuck, go next, both games are dead now

It was quite literally used the same way in PoE1. It fixed melee issues then too. The one and only difference between the two is that damage conversion is less powerful. So you get a bit less value, but it still doesn't matter because it's easier to get high max fire res than high actual armour

I literally ran Cloak of Flame Boneshatter Jug during the Wildwoods league where mobs were the strongest they've ever been but you got lootbombs for punching on in the middle of an absolute rapepack

In early stage poe, lightning coil was the t1 item because it mitigated so much phys damage. Just some dumb lore thoughts.
The Beyond looking creature swoops in and flies away, I'd assume given witch has Beidat stuff, means the Scourge is still at play.
I don't imagine Doryani is content with his failures, including failing Atziri. Given the only Vaal blood sacrifices that can be made are his advisors, himself and Alva he is slow to kill her given that will leave nobody to actually continue the Vaal Empire with a reborn Atziri.
But if beyond stuff shits up, and The Last to Die shows back up, that gives him 1 more member of Vaal blood who could be sacrificed from outside our time, and leave Alva either as a Vessel for Atziri or a "Eve" figure for the Vaal (whether she likes it or not.)
Some neat stuff possible in the future for the lore, even if its not a focal point.

DD is literally one button you fucking retard, and it has higher damage than everything else on that one button because it scales the damage off overbloated mob hp. Even putting down corpses is automated now

PoE also has infinitely more skills. When this game has even half the number of skills there'd be, objectively, more combinations of builds if they were all made to work with each other. But if any one of them can also be juiced so higher they can clear the game on their own, there's literally no reason to use more than one with them except to torture yourself.

its an aids playstyle anyway. i used it for a bit on normal monk as a power charge spender instead of bell. its fun to randomly fly around the map for a while but its actually a very slow skill because you have to walk back to loot so you are just wasting your time. you also flicker into archnem instakill effects way too often

Just got the game, been doing my old poe1 shenanigans and building for a grug smash 2h melee warrior build. Only issue I've been having is the trials. I feel pretty soft locked and I'm only on the first one in my normal run of the campaign (act 2 level 25 for reference). Depending on RNG I can get to boss with max honor and dodging his attacks isn't really an issue, what gets me is the constant chip from the volcanos/the shit that falls from the ceiling. I only have about 600 honor and that's with dedicated relics for boosting honor/honor res. I was considering just skipping it and coming back but I noticed I was feeling a little weak and looking at the rewards for completion it made sense as to why. The build I'm following doesn't really have room for getting myself better prepared and I also don't feel like just getting carried, since I'm early enough along should I just restart with a merc and ez-clear everything?

Investing into the maps you run is called "juicing" in PoE. And juicing is the key to getting ahead, because as long as you can beat the map efficiently you always get out more than you put in.

For me it's something like this, if I run a regular t15 it has a theoretical cost of about 2ex and I will get about 2-3ex out of it. If I get a good map with quant/rarity and 6 mods it's worth about 10ex, but I make 10ex per map and every 5 or so maps I find something worth 30-50ex and every 10 or so maps I find a div.

Happens all the time, but it's still more efficient. I think my build is worth about 15-20div right now, which is nowhere near streamer/no-lifer tier, but still far ahead of the curve.

Prime for stun then you Boneshatter them. Plop down Earthquake if you want but it's not mandatory. Then you Infernal Cry into Perfect Strike.
Literally playing melee will make you learn about the boss a lot more than playing ranged classes because you have such a short window to do your damage that you're forced to learn the mechanics.

Think it's worth the slot? I got one from a random drop and while I like the slightly faster movement and slightly faster movement and skill speed, not sure if it's worth the loss in HP and Elemental Resistance. When you reach multi-divine chests there's no reason not to 6L them (I'd use an omen instead of fusing spam/crafting bench). It's only really a big benefit when you're starting out because you don't have to keep your first shitty 6L around and you don't have to shop based on sockets, especially if you're doing an off-colour build.

This could work. Would definitely save me a great deal of points. Remove all the Armor Break and AOE for my Two-hander, put all of that into DMG and Ignite Magnitude. Then use that to drop my HotGs

Eh, I leveled 4 warriors. I like the totems. Especially on SSF league start. All you really need to look for is +melee skill gems and you're done. Then just stack as much damage mitigation as you can. Was a comfy leveling process compared to other warrior builds.

I finished the campaign and dont really feel like playing cruel so I think I will quit until later when the game is more fleshed out. I posted this one last night to no replies, it's a terrible idea anyway, Titan Freezing Salvo pathing into the Merc area to stack cooldown recovery (iirc it's 85% vs 65% inc recovery rate). Would probably be better for general grenades desu, salvo's kinda shit. But I definitely think there's some off-melee builds there for Titan waiting for us to find, 50% increased effectiveness of small nodes is huge. If it were closer to Int it'd be a mana/ES king.

Load up PoE 1 start running some atlas stuff I normally never did. Decide to try the Blight all bosses lane, along with the scarab that makes waves spawn much quicker. Get a shrine with the skele summons on the way back to do it, 2 lanes with insta third lane coming in, all right beside each other. This is great. Scarab shits out like 5 bosses at once plus a bajillion waves on other 2 lanes.

I didn't cry about the game or gameplay personally. Just wasn't a fan of the current map mechanics really (they chose league mechanics that were loot based and not crafting based I understand) but Ritual/Breach just were never among my preferred.
But the difference currently between having Magic Find and not is night and day, practically a different game. Once you get there it's fine, but the grind to that point was not fun or rewarding after a while.
If I was someone who didn't enjoy PoE in general I likely wouldn't have stuck around after the first 50 maps of getting fuck all. While walking with 0% movement boots.

The "designed with melee first" thing fell apart in the first week when they had to literally nerf a monster into uselessness because it's attacks weren't avoidable nor reactable at melee range.

And that's just the one in sanctum. There's multiple other attacks I can think of off the top of my head. The monkeys spin, a lurkers jump.
There's a lot of attacks don't give a lot of room to attack without being hit yourself either unless you're at max attack speed.
They also did this weird thing where close = bad 99% of the time.

There's one modifier that punishes range. Proximal tangibility. The other two that semi due is flask drain (just recently nuked into nothingness), mana drain (if attached to a fast enemy), and... Shit I'm forgetting one.
Anyways there's a lot of modifiers that shit on melee; Proximity explosions of electricity, ice, and ice, lightning storms, temporal bubble, hinder aura, every single on death effect (of which there are a very large amount), corpse explosion, chill/burning trails, etc. Fuck it, I'll add volatile plants too.

Theoretically you do. But the "crafting" system is such an unreliable shitshow that you're statistically unlikely to ever have fully optimized gear to begin with which makes MF effectively free. Once you have it, the currency you gain just from running maps quickly outpaces what you spent to gear up and, more importantly, the maps fucking sustain themselves.

It's visually distinctive by the fact it's not dead :^). But really, there is a minor transparency to it I think.
It should have a slow penalty to the monster. Not huge just maybe like 20% or remove the possibility of a haste mod. I haven't encountered a bad one yet but I can definitely imagine mobs who like to keep their distance getting it and being nearly impossible to catch.

I'm not switching between weapon types. I'm doing the much more boring but very reliable play where my build has two steps to it, like most builds do in PoE2, and I'm using different weapons for each step. In this case I'm playing lightning crossbows so I have one set that uses shock and electrocute nodes then one set that gets much more DPS on tree when I swap for shockburst rounds.

OR I WOULD BE, IF ONE OF MY WEAPONS DIDN'T HAVE 200 DPS OVER THE OTHER.

It isn't too bad going in blind with this one, it's pretty straight forward and respecing is easier (though it does get costly).
Just play what you want, basically everything is viable to some degree it's just a case of how fun it feels (there are lots of complaints about melee) and how far you can take it.
If you want some general skill/ascendancy suggestions you can always just mention how you like to play.

Melee in this game feels like it was designed for a completely different game. That is to say, Mace Skills.
Mace feels like it was designed with "THE VISION" in mind. I am extremely confident that Mace and Warrior were the first creations this game saw in terms of classes and balance.
It's everything else that feels like it was designed afterward, after they delayed for the sixth time, after all the pushbacks and time constraints. Likely code pulled directly from the first game.

this is what annoys me and it makes me feel like jonathan has never played elden ring. imagine if when fighting elden beast your screen was covered with 20 different effects, all if his attacks did twice as much damage and freeze or stun you, and tornadoes and a pack of several mobs were chasing you. then maybe I could see where he drew inspiration if that was the case.

Also why does everyone say Slam = Melee
Strike = Melee and so far most strikes in the game feel really fluid (both perfect strike, besides the sometimes janky hitbox and monk staff strikes)
"Melee" as in negative attack speed slams hit the entire screen. They are more akin to spells than anything. Just very slow cast speed ones

They're classified as melee on the tags, therefore they are melee.

That being said - I do agree with you. I didn't touch the Weaponswap stuff until I started playing my Warrior. Two dozen nodes for AOE and stun, another two dozen for pure single target. It's really helped my Warrior feel a lot better. I Stampede and my hits pop entire screens and several lengths away from the screen too. Then I weaponswap drop my hammer and maybe perfect strike the boss for a one or two-shot.
It's insanely strong. But with how slow it is, even with points in action speed and attack speed, it'll still never compete with other builds speeds. Even more so, Armor is completely fucking garbage, so it'll also never be tanky either. Which is complete bullshit.
