Anyone think the jump between tier 8 and 9 delves is pretty big? On my ilvl 605 fury warrior I can usually do tier 8s pretty easily with zero deaths but I just died 7 times doing a tier 9

The miniboss (spider and dude riding the spider) gave me like 5 of my 7 deaths, completely wrecked my shit even going in with fresh cooldowns every time. Final boss I one shotted but it took a while, I'm just gonna stick to 8s until I get some more gear

is the illidan novel any good? I read the arthas novel recently and legit it was one of the worst books I have ever read in my enitre life. war of the scaleborn was really good though, would recommend.

I am a completionist but some things I have enjoyed:
- Getting KSH
- Zekvir ++
- Clearing all delves at rank 11 with lives left (in progress)
- Getting 1800 solo shuffle
- Felcycle secret
- Slowly ticking off quest/exploration achievements for TWW
- Fishing derby when it's up

Professions were fun at the start of the expansion but they feel meaningless now

Here's my list:
KSH - boring, but relatively easy. By far the most unfun thing I've done except the raid.

Zekvir ?? - did it at 613 was fun.

Delve cheevos - did a shitton of delves. Was really fun and good to gear some alts.

Farming gold - gathering and tinderboxes were amazing from the start. Some of the best feelings I had was farming box s for a few hours and getting up to 900k in my mail 1 hour later. Now professions are fucked by bots, whales and the mafia.

Getting all treasures, rares, sojourner, rep cheevos - did all first week except the rep ofc, was really fun.

Felcycle - except the pet battle, everything else was great.

I had a great time this year expansion, but that is because I did as little M+ as I could and almost entirely avoided the dogshit raid.

It's not that they haven't learned, they just refuse to accept that raiding needs a complete overhaul.

mythic difficulty doesn't need to be removed, but it does need to be tuned down, it's gotten way over the top as of late
levelling does need to change somehow, although I'm not sure how they could do it
i remember when they made it take longer and let you explore the world in a more meaningful way in 7.3.5 and people shit up and complained that they backtracked on much of it in 8.1 and then made levelling totally irrelevant and incredibly quick in SL with the level squish

i agree with that r.e levelling, I think the quick rate of levelling is okay considering how long it's been out and it's also a problem which you can't really put back in the bag once it's out
They do need to improve the new player experience for levelling up though
But I think some of it is pretty achievable? They absolutely need to do something about addon bloat. Ovi'nax mythic this tier was one of the worst bosses for that I've ever seen. They already are doing his 'introduce new dungeons' point but...
They only add new dungeons now because they actually get played. They didn't add any during MoP or WoD's patch cycle because you'd hit max, do dungeons for like 5 days and then never touch them ever again, Challenge Modes weren't anywhere near as repeatable as Maze+ and only appealed to an extremely small niche and a legion of boostees

Any Preservation mains ITT? New to the spec and not sure what I'm meant to be doing with Essence Burst. Casting Disintegrate seems like a waste of time compared to Chrono Flames, using it on Blossom feels weak as piss without all the supporting talents, and casting it on Echo with no plan just results in a gorillian overhealing or the Echos expire. Agreed. They don't really add build variety that wasn't already present in the MOP talents and they introduce a shitload of new problems with pathing, 2-point talents and dull passives. At worst they involve talents that change your stat prio, meaning optimal play now requires 2 sets of gear for raid/M+. They add a few minor options and preferences, but that could've been handled by bringing back Glyphs or adding a row of Minor Talents similar to PVP talents. The problem with the MOP talents was that they never got updated. Most of the rows had a 100% no-brainer pick that had been locked in for years, and they didn't add new rows often enough.
Talent trees overall were just a ploy to win over Classicfags fleeing their dying game - Blizz knew Wrath Classic would be the end of it. Everything else about DF was perfection though.

I liked WoD up until I realised there was nothing worthwhile to do at endgame other than raid.
The levelling was kino, the dungeons were great and the raiding was peak.
But outside of the 6 hours a week of raid, there wasn't anything to do. I tried the apexis dailies but they were awful and unrewarding, it took months to even get one piece of useful armour, and it probably had awful stats on you couldn't even reforge.
I at least made a lot of gold through garrisons although it's all dried up now, I made more in Legion through Bacon/Felwort/Felhide/the mining world quests and mission table there desu
I miss that about Legion, I'd put a follower on with the 150g follower equipment per world quest and just full clear the map for AP anyway, I'd just make a ton of 'passive' gold for something I was already doing. It was comfy.

Yes they would. Cope less. I played the game back then. I replayed through classic. Efficiency has always been the strat and the only time it wasn't was when you were running the content for the first time without friends or with randoms who were new to the game. Xp farming groups have always existed and "speedrunning" dungeons for loot/xp isn't new. You just weren't very good at the game back then because it was a brand new experience.

The upcoming sets aren't that bad. Yeah, a few need iterating on which abilities activate it but to be honest i've been over the idea of set bonuses for a few expansions now anyway.
The really fun ones always suck nigger shit and are gone the next season anyway and the really good ones break class balance for the rest of the expansion as they yoyo nerf buff.

Why do we even need tier bonuses still? If you just want us to use tier armor, make them like 10 higher ilvl or something. +10% spender damage is bland and i'm bored of it. Glad they're trying something new at least.

do weekly quests in dornogol, awakening machine, theater, weekly world boss. you can do all that in like an hour and that will net you 50 or 60. from there, the new siren isle quests and rares all award some and they are pretty quick to do. you can also get another 15-20 from the event fairground quests

after that, once you have your first 100 under your belt, you can farm repeatable content for more like timewalking dungeons.

Runescape is never going to be a perfect comparison because OSRS and RS3 have completely different combat systems and UIs. The worst part about datamining is the time it takes for a lot of it to see the light. If a patch was datamined like a day before it came out it wouldn't be so bad, but because you see datamining of content and then you don't even see that content get released for another 6+ months, by the time it is released you're just annoyed by it cause it's some shit you saw 6 months ago and you know has just been sitting there the whole time.

Baseline from their expansion launches I want to say TWW has some 80 less quests than DF but keep in mind a lot of those are just breadcrumb quests and in practice it probably has maybe 2 or 3 less side questlines. The content is pretty 1:1 with the exception that the actual zones absolutely 100% feel smaller and less varied in terms of exploration. I understand why you might think it has less content vibeswise but it doesn't really. Hero talents are very subtle but are still legitimately a new system to "play" with and even if it's not something I think anyone is still doing delves didn't seem to detract from the base experience even if I would have preferred anything else. The two main things that I think play into it are that the main story does not even take you to a lot of sidequest hubs (DF was bad with this but it still did it better) so if you just do the main story and maybe do the big chains in Gundergaz it looks like there's 50 fucking quests in the entire expansion and the changes from DF meaning you're only doing four new dungeons.

Also the big .5 being the anniversary kind of fucked things. It was "content" but the vast majority was secret discord autism not a lot of people like to do and the new raid (which I feel conceptually was a good idea) died within a week because of tuning and rewards. A different .5 with more appealing and longer lasting content would have paced this a lot better.

Depends entirely on what you consider content.
War Within isn't getting a new mega-dungeon so far, but that's because it's getting 2 new dungeons instead.
It had the anniversary remixed boss fights for BRD which they probably count internally as well as new content.
Delves are basically Island Expeditions when it comes to content, so it's on the par with BFA there.
There's no Warfront equivalent this time around, but Visions of N'zoth are confirmed to be returning.
Quests are about the same, but they've basically cut down the main quest a lot to throw more shit into side quests, which used to be smaller amounts in the last few expansions. Mostly do to feedback from people who've been playing in recent expansions.

Awakening the machines weekly event was supposed to be a whole infinite repeatable minigame that was scrapped into what it is now.
There was supposed to be a whole other zone called the rootlands which is the Harronir's home and was going to be about them that was cut and is now being drip fed.
Delves were supposed to get a brand new companion every season, that's cut now too.

Pretty much all I know from the setting is from hearthstone but I looked through the race tab on the website and read through the basic info snippets for each race. Lightforged and Void Elf looked the coolest but they are both locked.
Normal Draenei also looked cool but lightforged seems to be the perfect race for paladins.

Does anyone else have an issue with NVIDIA where after minimizing WoW the overlay pops up for a second and steal focus from whatever text box you're typing?

I turned off notifications from the NVIIDA overlay thing but it still does this
