Messed around in Settlers a bit earlier and I know everyone can have a different opinion but I don't understand how the current Map system and Atlas was the best they could come up with. Unless the Mapping system will lead to a new expansion for PoE2 where we actually retake noticable amounts of the world I much prefer just having a map that I juice up and insert, rather then make my towers buff the node, find nodes that have the "affixes/mechanics" I want, then put a juiced waystone in it.
Also the Atlas just feels bad in comparison.
The gameplay though grew on me a lot, playing Chaos Dot witch as a first character was probably the wrong choice, both warrior slams and totems + ranger/bow feel much better.
With that said I'm probably out until the next update for the time being and I leave y'all with some schizo babble image that I realized.

Theres still so many bugs not reported which almost makes me quit until they fix em,

I can't run some of the fully juiced maps with deli or other multi-pack stuff like ritual as my FPS/latency tanks to single digits and then like speeds up and I die as the latency catches up with 500x gameplay speed, it isn't my gpu as I run 99% of maps just fine,

I cant tell what to report it as

the act of hitting enemies as your character in poe2 feels great. its genuinely cool as fuck.
the other side of combat, which is monsters hitting you, feels fucking awful thoughever. not because its hard but because you have so little control over what the fuck is going on when you are just a little turd getting chainstunned and pushed and frozen by enemies while an archnem rare is conjuring a thermonuclear warhead on your head and a pack of 3 white mobs is shooting you for thousands of damage.
and aside from combat everything is a downgrade so severe that its not even worth discussing. "crafting" sux, gear sux, passive tree sux, ascendancy sux, gem system sux, mapping sux, literally everything is terrible.

i just tested it and yes it is global. you can try it out pretty easily by going to alva in her crackden and buying weapons until you get a pair with the same phys dps where one weapon has wed and the other does not. you will see that the wed weapon results in much higher damage.
global damage mods on a weapon are shit because they stack additively with everything else, you get hundreds of increased damage on the tree so another 100% wed only gives you like 20% more dmg.

Fix leech, the majority of enemies in the game have extraordinarily high leech resist for no reason
Leech is kind of like Cast on X right now where they buffed the shit out of it as a bandaid because it was borderline nonfunctional before and I presume they intend to do actual rescaling at a later date

What's the best build that I can just start from level 1 at, doesn't cost anything, and don't have to respec outside of minor things like attributes, but can scale well into t17 maps? No gg gear needed.

if theres a cap then you still have to reach that mf cap on every serious build. it should just be removed. instead of gimping your build with mf you should be able to make maps more difficult but also more rewarding. you can do that very easily in poe1 but not in poe2 because its a shit game made by retards.

yes and its a terrible form of difficulty increase. you trade tank mods for magic find, meaning overpowered ranged screen deletion builds can stack mf on every slot because they can kill everything instantly anyway. the game would be better if magic find was a prefix on weapons but of course then there would be builds which dont need weapon rolls to do damage and its the same problem.
like i said, poe1 has already solved this but of course poe2 regressed because none of the lessons learned from poe1 carried over to the development of poe2.

I have a 5800X3D and a regular 4070 and the game runs at 144fps all the timeand never crashes. I play on 1080p though. It's very badly opimized for CPU, check if it's getting sudden thermal spikes. Mine jumped to 92c in town and I altf4d the fuck out and put the temp limits lower.
Rather have lower perf than a fried cpu

They just went to kill it in poe1 and had a 23 minute tirade on how mf just doesnt work in arpgs and that they want to swap it over to sources outside of gear as much as possible

Your specs are roughly as good as if not better than mine and I keep a consistent 120fps with very few crashes (like 6 total CTDs after 157 hours) so I dunno man. Anyone actually running a full mf char with 400%+ IIR? How often do you see divines/perfect jew's/T0 unique drops, if at all, compared to, let's say, 100-200 IIR? I actually had some fair and fun fights against boosted rares. I forgot the mod names but I can only attack them when i'm close so I had to fire my grenades, wait and dip in right before they exploded. Multiple times I fell below 30% health but never died. I wish there were more fights like this in Poe and Poe 2. I like almost dying not going from 100 to 0 in a split second.

For Breaches do I run with the edge as it expands or does it expand to a set point and I should just be focusing on mobs more towards the middle?

For Delirium I dunno wtf is going on. I assume you want to move with the fog but I can't tell where the fog is going at all. At first I thought it was like the wind that moves along pointing you in a direction but that has steered me wrong multiple times. Am I just looking for those crystal areas that spawn like 3 shitter white mobs? How do I stay in the fog is there some tell that I'm not seeing?

Honestly though there's no reason to not take a break for a while. All our characters and stash items are going to be sent to the shadow realm before the official release anyway, so there's no real reason to stick with this through thick and thin.

I figured out why I hate this game's loot system.
D2
>Low level runes have guaranteed drop spots
>high level runes drop off any monster, and aren't impacted by magic find
>runes can be upgraded to higher ones
>many unique items which have a lot of value and can be target farmed
>because runes aren't impacted by MF any build can farm for them
>runes guarantee a good item
Compared to POE2
>no guaranteed drop spots for low level orbs
>divine orb drops really only drop from elite mobs so there's no point in clearing a map
>orbs cannot be upgraded into better ones
>basically every unique is worthless, and they can't be target farmed
>because orbs are impacted by MF only 2 builds can farm for them and now more than 75% of the player base are just those builds
>orbs don't guarantee a good item
The loot in this game is really just not fun for the player. It's designed for RMT.

Hard disagree with you there. If I have to slow down and interact with a regular rare in ny endgame I'm going to be pissed. I should be zooming at the speed of light, chaining my maps, pushing for repeat uber kills or fragment farming, without a second thought. If my hyper focused autism is taken out of the zone by a fucking random rare the game's shit. At that point I'm pushing out the last edges of power and speed from the character and have zero tolerance for slow bullshit after having dedicated who knows how much currency specifically to avoid slow bullshit.

In PoE1 it was just about staying in the mist, and the mist moved across the map. But now the mist seems to stay forever? I've had maps where I literally just stand still and go grab food for 5 minutes and the mist has changed. Dou you get bonus times for breaking the mirrors or something?

Pretty much. It sounds good on paper but it's best practice to halve the value and compare it to regen. So like if you have 15% recoup, halve it to get a more realistic number, 7.5% over 8 seconds is like 1% regen per second. It's eh.

but that's not what's being asked about. I'm running an Evasion/ES chest with probably wors overall gear and I have as much evasion and armor. I have almost all the evasion/ES nodes in the Monk tree and I'm barely getting 1.4k. Even if I did take every single one and gimped my build for it, I wouldn't be even half of that 4k. It's the chaos node at the top right of the tree that also gives 11% extra damage as chaos
I'm running Ice Strike, Whirling Assault, Bell, Vaulting Impact, Mantra of Destruction. For normal trash clearing I use Ice Strike, for anything that matters I just bell and spin. Vaulting is good for stun buildup. I use Mantra either before bell or before Vaulting depending on what I want to do

Keeping Darkness up is just about treating it like ES and avoiding damage for a few seconds. But I mostly use it as a health buffer rather than the damage component. The damage is just for initial openers on bosses or when I'm slamming through packs with Ancestral-boosted Vaulting. Otherwise there's just too much shit hitting you to keep it unreserved

I've played around with it and now I'm just doing shit for fun. Darkness is hard to make work if you use it for the damage. But I just like the health buffer to avoid oneshots since everything's permanently stunned anyway
I've got the initial points in Darkness but nothing beyond that. The other stuff I said was just my experience from when I used more than just the nodes that gave you it in the first place. I prefer the leech nodes and chaos res over all the things to buff darkness

Act 1 and 2 were good. Act 3 is where it sucks. Maps are too big and a lot of ranged mobs. But that ranged mob bullshit starts at act also but I give it a pass since 90% of the zones are linear so it's easy to find them.

next best mod is +merchant options, you can either buy +water boons at the start of the run and then buy a crazy amount of boons over the course of the run or just buy a few of the really strong ones like scrying or +speed or +damage

which is weird because it took me a lot longer to burn out on d4, i played a couple hundred hours of that shit when it first launched

your character is designed to move slow unless you have 25+ms. the dungeons are made very large to extend gameplay and you're made to do countless maps to get points to progress your atlas. its artificially made to extend gameplay not to prolong fun.

Darkness isn't good but playing like this is still fun. Between leech and darkness I'm effectively unkillable. I always played zdps builds in PoE1 but the screen is still popping right now so I'm happy. Chaos already gets retarded amount of damage from the tree and the HP buffer felt more consistent than Wind Dancer + Ghost Shroud, so I'm not actually noticing that big of a difference to my Invoker. Even the loss of Grim Feast doesn't feel like that big a deal in breach, etc, because I just tank through everything with leech anyway
It also helps that I actually wanted to use more than one ability, so I have slots now

But yes I've also played with Spirit and it's its own thing. Heralds popping the screen make the game easier, but I'm also popping the screen with Mantra + Vaulting so I don't mind

That is like the last thing people give a fuck about. There's not enough support gems to even matter most of the time, and the game isn't meant to be 1 button builds so even if you had the extra damage, it just means people will get burned out even faster when the 1 buttons are gutted
Maps are undercooked and that's all there is to it. If people had more variety and more choice in how they approached the maps and content in it, no one would give a fuck about 4 links unless they were simply dying on repeat. Then it'd be their cope excuse

There is your problem, because mapping is actually enjoyable there, Due to map types, tried and tested overall size and layouts, and the sheer amount of pre existing map mechanics you can literally build around to swap to on a whim. The current waystones and designs of these maps are fucking trash. Only ones like Crypt or Sandspit even resemble Poe1.

ES is considered significantly more valuable than Armour and Evasion because it is a number that directly mitigates all damage. Even with the super low numbers on gear, with the right mods, you can get thousands of it, way more total ES than Life builds can get Life.
Which honestly is kind of a big flaw in PoE2.
With no HP on tree, builds automatically gravitate towards ES and Str stacking because it lets you get a real HP pool.

I use the helmet on my Stampede Warrior. It helps dramatically making Warrior feel less shit.

Attack Speed doesn't do much for Warrior, but Skill Speed does on certain skills. Rolling Slam, Stampede are the two best. It does almost nothing for Sunder though, I think that skill has a built in timer for the skill.

Yeah, I tried Bone Shatter for a while, but hitting, then breaking the stun with that for the AOE didn't seem as fast as just putting Devastate, Armour Break and Stun into Rolling Slam. Then cancelling the recovery with a roll. Same as Leaping then cancelling the recovery of the leap with a roll. Actually faster than running with some skill speed and attack speed.

Last week I realized that crafting was all about resistances. Prefixes on armor all rock, but suffixes suck ass, so with essences and regals and shit you just want to focus on the suffixes and then slam 2 prefixes and it'll turn out good.

But I've started thinking that resistances don't even matter any more. Like don't run around with negative res, but I'm not getting oneshot with 50% fire res like I would be in poe1 or even the campaign. I just focus on es/evasion/armor, whatever item gives me the most, and it works out.

what class? equip bases that are relevant to your stat spread and level, get a little bit of increased armour/ev/es on tree, preferably have increased % defences on their prefixes. get as much resists and life rolls as you can. you shouldn't be getting one shot by anything but the biggest telegraphed slams, if that.

This game punishes too hard for sub-1% optimal choices with Itemization and build.
Good game would just reward good build and playstyle harder than poe2 does instead of assfucking for having the weapon 3 levels lower than required and some suboptimal nodes. Because currently the character building balance is off way too much to afford such a tight tuning.
So GGG should either balance passives, skills and items perfectly or not design the game in the way that underlines current balance fuckery.
