I play Cammy I just dont think she is ideal for a complete beginner, Ryu is how the genre started and is worth understanding.
Luke is ok too but has some odd stuff I dont think would be ideal for a complete beginner.
Cammys specials are all unsafe combo filler and I dont think we can expect a complete beginner to understand how to effectively strike/throw/shimmy, space divekicks and whiff punish, he needs to learn how to input specials and do a basic combo first.

If they're stuck in stance to either avoid fireballs or because they had to go into stance to try and hitconfirm into slide, cool, she's locked out of 90% of her kit now and a jump in will destroy her since she can't anti air unless with stance HK (lol). Or chances are she'll just be counterhit trying to exit stance if you do anything.

If you hit a punish counter HP you can go straight into heavy cane twirl for the wall bounce into medium ghost into spike and then portal setup. Alternatively you can drive rush (not cancel, the crumple gives you enough time to regular drive rush) into another heavy punch or crouching heavy punch into heavy cane twirl for the same combo and setup for more damage and minimal investment. Lovushka can be parried with the worst happening is taking a punish throw.

You can rank up with a low win rate so over time worse players hit higher ranks and beating them in placements will skip a lot of the grind.
You are better and can more easily deal with scrubby shit so you do better in placements.

If you amnesia'd a DI you're probably better off going for heavy kick into crouching medium punch then light spike, which should give amnesia enough time to trigger and let you juggle them to fullscreen so you can set up portals. Fighting higher rank players is so much more fun. When I get hit by shit there's actually a chance that, instead of being angry at the game for making the scrub shit I just got hit by so hard to deal with, I'll think "oh man he really did that? That was kinda nice I gotta start thinking about countering that now". When should one tech a throw in 6?
Isnt it always better to backdash?
Backdash can sometimes punish throws, not as vulnerable to shimmy (I think)

I suppose backdash is probably not great as it can only punish poorly timed throws/non meaty ones so maybe jumping is the best choice.

Id prefer no guests but Mai and Terry are good guests because they are from a much smaller company whose audience largely overlaps with Capcoms.
Guests that play the same dont have a negative impact on gameplay, no one is forcing me to play KOF in my SF game, and if they look like they could be a character from that franchise they dont have any negative impact on the visuals.

A big issue with a lot of other guests is they look alien and break the rules, these are usually from bigger franchises and this is essentially cucking the existing fan base to bring in outsiders.

So why would you not parry a fireball? did they even think this through?

Fireballs should drain your drive WHEN you parry them, and when you block them normally, they do REAL CHIP. Then you have to PROTECT YOUR HEALTH with your DRIVE. Perfect parry can make it parry neutral so that there's a chance you're eating their drive if they miss.
