PSA to noobs. dont try and melee attack colossus body, attack his left arm (his left) and when he lifts his arm in the air then just attack the empty area where his arm was. his body seems to go invulnerable every 5 seconds or something, sometimes i could hit with melee and sometimes it missed no matter what, attacking arm area worked even when it visually looked like it shouldnt.

I'm not sure I understand the Warbringer.

First is his Ancestral Totem.
It's a Minion. With seemingly no way to scale it's power, well, no, you can scale it's power through minion stuff, not totem stuff, since it explicitly states it's a minion.

Second, is the block nodes.
The first one is kinda shit. 40% base can be gotten from a simple roll on a Shield. The second one is good, but you need to take the first one. So that's two Ascendancies used for Defensives.

Third is the Jade thing.
It locks you in place. Sure it has a passive defense on the same node, but it's only 10% and it only stacks 10 times, so that 10% is practically always gone. So you don't get anything from it and instead lock yourself down even more, making the game feel even shittier.

No Warcry Cooldown is great for like two very specific builds, one of which is highly dependent on gear, the other being just "okay". But even that is locked behind a garbage node of exploding bodies for 25% of their HP, which is just okay and it's usually better just to kill shit on your own instead of relying on that.

Armor Break nodes seem like the only thing worthwhile for that whole Ascendancy...

It's bizarre how imbalanced nodes are on the tree. Like a lot of the time it doesn't really matter much but there're a bunch of nodes that just have double the value of other nodes for no discernible reason. 8% accuracy vs 8% accuracy and 8% critical chance

the existence of quality on currency in poe1 has no bearing on their attainability as you can just buy all of them at the end of the campaign and you don't quality them during the campaign but you still need to progress to get them, all poe2 needs to do is put a vendor at the end of the campaign to let you buy gems. supports are still a progression tool for new and fresh characters thats always what they have been, you do not understand poe1 fundementally if you cannot fathom this.

A lot of skill issues here all around.
Warcry build is one of the best and can clear all content with no issue.
I pull rares into some corpses and 1 shot them.
Knockback is pretty gay fine I'll give you get that.
Armor break is good all around.
Both shield nodes are great. Allows you to use any low block shield you have. Blocking any hit makes you insanely tanky.
Ancestral spirits are ridiculously good on hardcore. They body block and block projectiles.
The only other one you're right about is jade, but that's only because I haven't used it to see for myself.

Who gives a fuck. You can put basically any weapon on any class and get more or less the same results, albeit with some being better for it
You could Flicker Strike as a Witch and still make it work if you just take the outer ring - which you will, because gems are busted as fuck

well yeah thats what i mean, once you beat the campaign on one character have a lani equivalent where you buy all your gems from for the next characters thats literally the only thing thats missing, i'd rather poe2's system overall where you just pick a support instead of either muling supports from other classes or waiting to do the library for the 90000th time. if anything a more important change would be lowering the insane level requirements.

I'd actually argue flicker monk is a bit stronger than flicker deadeye, most of them stack several CoF and use lightning warp, I've seen them clear much faster than that webm. and it's not just that webm, I can't find any examples of lightning warp or CoF on deadeyes

Support gems don't need to level in the current system but it does feel a bit weird that the only progression in them is to unlock level 2 and 3 categories by playing far enough that they start dropping. Quality being gone doesn't make sense.

Almost everything in PoE2 can have quality. Support gems are an exception.

Quality on them would've been a way to scale those stats that they give further. They provide a lot of stuff that you can't otherwise get and it's weird that you can improve them at all.

Picking up every crossbow I saw and slamming it with mats. scaling player power isn't automatically a good thing, and the result would be that different supports would benefit more/less from scaling, creating a myriad of balance problems.

I shouldn't even have to explain this to you, BTW. if you're a reasonably seasoned ARPG player you should understand how changing the balance of one thing changes everything else. before you know it the hardest content in the game is trivialized even in SSF and GGG have to add more tiers of maps, then people complain about endgame being too grindy. fuck that.

in particular: PoE2's support gem system is a REACTION to PoE1's support gem system, designed by the people who dealt with the earlier system for a decade and had experience with everything wrong with it.

I've gotten to tier 12s in ssf despite only doing 4 bossfights (got one-shot in 2). honestly now I regret not doing them from earlier just for the practice, but if every map had a bossfight people would complain about that too.

there are changes, e.g. Lachlyan's arena doesn't have a big monument you can kite him around. its possible to reach endgame having simply forgotten the telegraphing of their one-shots, especially given the amount of sleep I missed reaching endgame.
GGG also set the early map tier grind numbers too high and 10 tier 1-5s required, and the result was that I felt I didn't need an extra obstacle for completing maps. I just did irradiated content instead, and its gotten me to tier 13s so far.

The thing about the bench is it doesn't help you get amazing items but it lets you build usable items. The huge gap in the game right now is that there are no reliable tools to fix your progression gear. You largely progress on low exalt cost gear you trade for because every avenue is way too cozy inefficient while crawling up then avoid upgrading like the plague since it destroys your resists, and then at end game when you start hunting bosses you take the plunge to gamble away until you get something usable because decent items go for a couple exalts but great items go for 50 divs.

Off the top of my head, runes really shouldn't be permanently affixed so you can adjust resists and not have to hold off on slotting a piece in case you want to go for a soul core later. Investments in this game are often high risk low reward.

I just watched a video by Raxxanterax where he made the same request, and every new arrival in his chat agreed. but runes were added to replace the crafting bench precisely BECAUSE they are not unsocketable: you have to make a real decision when to use a socket.

the mindset you have of the game is currently a list of jobs to do to acheive the next arbitrary goal, and that even though GGG created both the goals and the obstacles, removing the obstacles will leave the goals just as meaningful (it won't). you really need to start playing SSF and leave all the whiny shitters to bitch about economics.

the design intent is probably that decrepit mercs are no problem for Warriors who have Phys DR, but need to be dodged or taken out at distance by non-armour builds.

The mindset I have is that I'm playing a game of character building and I want to try things out and see how they play. There are many other ARPGs with a fantastic SSF experience, Grim Dawn handles it extremely well, PoE never has and people who want the game to be a challenge and punishment on all fronts are only looking to boost their own ego. Having to replace large swathes of your gear to fix resists because you crafted an upgrade is not fun or satisfying, it adds tedium onto a task you've already proven you're capable of accomplishing. I'm very obviously capable of crafting my own gear that we're having this conversation to begin with, I'm just not ass to lord it over other players even if I like to flaunt the piece.

The whole question of "why complain about the game you're engaging" is always answered with "why complain about other people complaining". The systems at hand do not prove mastery, they prove luck and a handful of free time where they're at. Your choices should punish you when they're mistakes, but they shouldn't punish you for factors you've established are out of your hands.

I don't want to SSF. I play trade, I craft when it's more viable. My point is that the limitations don't help anyone and economic issues created by the game systems bring down everyone. The only reason to want a high entry barrier is to look down on people.

If you needed to fix shit up in PoE1, the crafting bench enabled that. Those tools don't really exist here. Progression is largely locked to buying until end game then RNG slamming when you hit that wall. Players who steal a guide every league and play the same shit everyone else is playing while buying everything because their build is powerful enough to run on low investment should be supported as much as players who want to play weird jank ideas that require highly specific crafts. They're simply not incompatible ideas. And you should be rewarded for progression when you drop, craft or buy upgrades instead of it being an esoteric process of rearranging everything so your EHP doesn't go down until you complete two other pieces.

yeah: its an ARPG. the whole point of procedurally generated content is to give infinite extra playtime. finding usable RNG loot on the ground is meaningful because the devs didn't put it there.

My point was that unlike corruption, you can concisely describe what increased/more means, and unlike corruption, its actually very important to know that increased/more words are actually used very specifically despite the fact that to a new player, they just look like two words that mean the same thing.

buy some more stash tabs cause you should keep everything. if something is halfway decent for an alt or a different build, keep it. keep all uniques. salvage every quality/socketed thing u dont need cause youll need the orbs/scraps. engage in every mechanic. forget everything you know about the value of things. you will use divines to get a slightly higher roll on an item, cause that's what they do.

Big thing for PoE2 is that they're changing them to be less gimmicky to use and supposedly all monsters are designed to be spectreable. In 1 you had a spectre limit so you only wanted to raise the strongest spectres but 2 is supposed to have their spirit cost balanced around their power level so you could in theory play a bunch of weaker ones or even have multiple different types of spectres with the way the new bind spectre gem is supposed to work in that it transforms to raise the monster you chose to bind in it.

This is false. The first mob that can one shot you in the campaign is that ape boss in act3. And that monke calls you the day before to warn you about the slam is about to do.
The only rough part of normal Act1 is the count if you don't have strong mobbing for the fog phase... Until you start using 2% brain power and slot some ice res.
After that it's smooth sailing, I don't know why people keep touting the campaign as some sort of "dark soul difficult game", campaign and cruel are not hard. Post campaign is degen stuff.

shock chance scales the effective lightning damage of your hit, but if the total is still less than the monster's ailment threshold (which would give you a true 100% chance to shock) there is still a chance you can fail to shock them. lightning damage also has high varience so you're probably never going to be able to shock 100% of the time, and that's intended.

I tried to get last 2 ascendency points:

>great run, -50% vendor prices at the beginning

Titan's +50% small passive nodes effect is the king imo if you're planning a build in that area of the tree. Don't get too excited about 20 extra inventory slots though, it's buggy as hell (I know, what a surprise).

Most are playing SRS which is quite active. Without SRS minions would be less active but the minions still have command skills unless you go full skeleton warrior. You can have ~20 skeletons out with proper gear unless you mass the more expensive ones.

DD "minionbuilds" run with a couple high health brutes that are used for DD with the Sacrifice spirit skill.

I would recommend staying away from them until they patch the despawning. It's super annoying to play with.

Early game SRS is basically mandatory because the skeletons are too weak and die one shot to every boss and most normal mobs.

Okay anon I'll explain it more simply.
Notice that in Poe, most strike skills have a long wind up and very short ending lag. That is very unconventional in action games, and there's a reason for that. With a short wind up lag and a long ending lag positioning is a lot simpler, but you still have the opportunity cost of actually making the swing and limit the rate that players can attack.
There are also aesthetic benefits, it feels nicer having a quick swing with a lot of overswing since that gives it a feeling of momentum and dare I say, weight.

I hope the campaign gets better as the EA gets closer to release. I love the campaign in PoE1 and I usually quit once I hit maps, but in PoE2 the different locations feel lackluster and the story has weird details overly elaborate while lacking in coherence elsewhere.

I don't have anything against Warcries. I'm just not sure of their use outside of Corrupting Cry, which sounds cool, but I can't see it scaling insanely well since it builds on STR. But I could be wrong, I'm relatively new afterall. Oh and Earthquake exploding, but that sounds kind of tedious. In PoE1 I played an auto shout build with shattering quakes which was crazy fun, but I don't like the extra button combo stuff.

I typically have to "pre-slam" once to make sure I'm not namelocked, otherwise you can't control skills like vaulting impact and the slam's center often ends up inside an obstacle dealing 0 damage to anything

Crossbow skills start using up mana later on compared to the pool of mana you get as a bottom of the tree crossbow build. The main way of scaling them is attack speed. Grenades take a lot of mana from the start.

Crossbow in other parts of the tree works as a leveling tool but you really need to get those reload speed nodes if you wanna endgame with it.

If you could cap your block, Turtle's Charm is probably the most defensive Ascendancy in the game. HOWEVER, the cost is two whole Ascendancies used on pure defense. Anvils Weight and Imploding Impacts are powerful, but not powerful enough to make up for that in my opinion.

At the very least, from my experience they weren't but I didn't take my Warbringer that far and I didn't touch on Warcries. So I could be wrong.

I died to an on-death effect that I couldn't see trying to farm tabula in blood aqueducts
Why is GGG obsessed with on-death effects? Why can't they just remove them completely?
Well over 90% of all deaths I've ever experienced in PoE1 has been from corpse explosions and enemies leaving either a pool of blood that insta drops you or they leave a ball of fire, poison or blood that follows you and pops you

I'm so fucking sick of this shit, playing 2 was a breath of fresh air, but even there you have on-death effects, some with incredibly poor visibility. I am starting to regret ever investing on these guys' games.

Crushing Blows is top tier for helping with clear on things like Armor Explosion.
But 2 and 3 make clearing even more insane.

Unless your totems or warcry memes. I'd argue Titan is leagues better. Since you can still cap block on Titan.

Is this how mindless consumers are like? I mean, I'm playing trade and items I paid an arm and a leg for are valuable to me.
The more I read SSF posts the more I start to think they have no discipline when it comes to consuming and they have to restrict themselves or they will go nuts. In other words: they're projecting their mindset to tradies. When they say
