I'm playing a Monk with a mace and it's fun. Specced into the reduce duration nodes so my Earthquake pops basically instantly and my Ghost Shroud is getting charges constantly
Next I'm going to play fire Warrior with a quarterstaff because his nodes are honestly just ten times better for it than all this forced dual-element shit in the Monk zone

poe2 music has some peak kino moments. the music in the act 1 fight together with the poetry during the dog phase is genuinely 10/10 and some other fights like crowbell or the sanctum bosses are top tier as well. its a shame most music is just not on that level of quality.
the voice acting in poe2 is huge downgrade from poe1 though, almost none of it is good

At the start of the EA I said I was going Warbringer totems and got shit on for it. Someone asked why and I said because I want to fight with the cute blue turtle. I got shit on further for everything under the sun, between thats gay and the build will be shit.
I'm not out here blasting things down instantly and pushing the HC ladder or anything, but I'm having fun. Which was more then a lot of the posters were while being filtered by the first two act bosses.

The game is designed to be grinded forever. Tradies just fool themselves into thinking they're doing something more meaningful because they skipped to the end of character progression and accumulated more meaningless digital currency in their stash. Either way you're still on an endless treadmill.

The only valuable thing you can do in this game is finding or doing something new, and then publishing your results. If you play someone else's build and grind currency to buy someone else's items, then you're just a hamster on a wheel. Someone else played the game for you.

it was by design so people didn't live in the auction house and actually played the game.
you don't NEED to buy the absolutely lowest priced vendor trash unique, you can pay a premium or 1 or 2 extra exalts to buy one instantly.
if some ground found piece of junk has been sitting in a public dump tab for 2 weeks for an ex, they probably aren't going to bother leaving a map to sell it, look for something listed the last day or two.
if you are using the trade sit to buy in bulk, buy in bulk. don't message someone with 400 essence asking for 3 of them.
and a general rule of thumb, the lowest priced shit listed probably isn't selling because they either don't care or are trying to fuck with the market.

Fire spells do seem weak however, all they get are SRS and you probably have to spec into minion damage to make that remotely usable.

click on the orbs, do maps, try to only do the tiers the quests ask you for, go to the towers and do those, put special items in the towers to force certain things on surrounding maps. when you complete one of the map quests, you get atlast points, start off putting them only in things that give you more maps of a higher tier or more frequent maps, by the time you hit tier 5 or 7, you should be swimming in maps and be able to slowly move your points into things you want. finally do your last ascendancy or two, and then do the pinnacle bosses.

Nothing is wrong with the economy though? Currency drops quick with mf investment, and there's no real use for crafting in a trade league since GGG never balances towards single player style. You're always better trading for your gear than crafting it, so the currency is just accumulating server-wide. With such massive player count still and with how common currency is for everyone we're seeing big numbers.
But even then the numbers aren't that bad. Back in poe 1's beta shit like kaom's heart or a shavronne's went for like 50-70 exalts initially.

This character has average gear, but really good gems. I don't have any 4 slots, just one 3 slot. Which is rolling slam, for Devastate, Armor Break and Ancestral which is my horde clear. Everything else is twolink only. But they have some level 2 and level 3 supports. Which make a huge, HUGE difference on Warrior. Maybe more so than anyone else.
If you don't have;
>a way to AOE effectively, i.e. like I do or with Boneshatter + Impact Shockwave and maybe also Herald of Ash
>a way to heal / sustain yourself like using Cannibalism or gear with +health on kill or hit
>And a big boss / elite nuke like Boneshatter with Close Combat when they are primed for heavy stun or Perfect Strike with Window of Opportunity and Heft
You're basically playing a subpar build.
It fucking sucks, but Warrior kinda only works one way until around... Act 2 maybe if you have good gear or when you get your second Ascendancy. Then you're more free to do different things.

In retrospect releasing the game only a few weeks before the holidays so they don't have enough time to collect player feedback on the endgame and make adjustments to it was probably a bad idea. The endgame could be made 100 times more tolerable with just a few changes, but as it is its just going to frustrate players and turn them off of the game.
They should have maybe just waited until early next year

I don't understand the Resonance interaction with Monk.

I know you combine it with Combat Frenzy to get charges without using Siphoning Strike or Killing Palm, but how does taking Resonance not fuck up all your Power Charge buffs? Does it make Charged Staff consume Frenzy Charges instead of Power Charges? What about all the other nodes for Power Charges, are you not getting the benefit of those at all with Resonance?

The flask mods are the 'unique' affix for the item. Outside that it has the renaining mods as always recurring for it. It's a solid leveling item with the potion buff, a ton of early dex, and cold res.
If you pick up socketed items you can dismantle them using the table in town for socket fragments. Get 10 and you can use the iten to add a socket to that chest. You can do it a few times to slot in resistance runes to make it even better for leveling.

Third merc ascendancy is almost certainly themed around minions and ballista turrets. We have a datamined ascendancy node that belongs to either mercenary or duelist, and in the case of the latter, we ballista support that isn't supported by the existing ascendancies.

Witch Hunter needs to be reworked more than anything. The nicest things you can say about the ascendancy is that it's playable right now, but it's extremely poorly designed and will become weaker and weaker as the game develops if they don't buff it. It has viable builds but the only one that isn't just totally outclassed on other ascendancies is galvanic shards.

I'm not having fun at all. I'm progressing through maps smoothly enough and I'm ready to challenge 4th ascendancy but I can never play too many maps in a row without getting tired and thinking of rerolling in hopes that it'll be more fun then getting annoyed at the thought of repeating campaign.

I do think the game has a good foundation and that it'll be good later so I want to learn and engage more with it now but holy fuck it's such a goddamn slog.

Ready to shelf the game on my lvl 87 merc who is in t16 maps. Don't like having to constantly be rolling and focusing on every single mob I encounter less I get one shot by some random projectile. Elon Musk streamed PoE 2 from someone elses account

Around 4 days ago Elon Musk streamed PoE 2 from a plane to showcase starlink, getting pretty much the entire poe section on twitch, including asmongold, to react to him struggling to kill +1 arbiter on stream.

Well turns out the character he played on isn't actually his, and is mostly played by someone else, playing from Asia.

List of evidence:

At 15:46 in the vod, we can see that his character name is MonkEBiznizz

Looking at the trade message when trying to buy items from his supposed account, you can see that both the stash tab name and message are in chinese, which is a telltale sign that the person is using the HK client.

Getting invited and going to his hideout to actually do the trade, you can see Elon is playing on Hong Kong realm, despite being in Florida and using the Texas realm on stream? Impressive for starlink to let you use a realm on the other side of the planet!

While i'd consider the evidence above conclusive, it is completely unnecessary. Its clear to anyone remotely familiar with the invoker playstyle that if Elon actually did play an invoker to level 93 AND farmed enough currency to have HoWA and 3 complete arbiter sets, he'd probably not struggle to do the most basic rotation on a stationary target, while walking into a stationary beam (15:20 in the vod, endgame boss spoiler warning.)

In conclusion Elon probably loaned the account from someone. Unless of course can read chinese, prefers higher ping and got very nervous and lost all mechanics as soon as he turned on the stream, maybe turbulence?

Zarokh is sanctum in a nutshell on top of that. He's absolutely obnoxious for a lot of builds and he has a massive amount of health. The experience I've had with him is spending half an hour on a fucking sanctum run even though I delete everything inside of it including bosses in under 5 seconds, then getting to Zarokh and getting fucking fucked up by him after he survives my burst window.

You get a rare drop. You do a quick search to see what it sells for on the trade site. You list the item at a similar price for sale.
Only the prices you see on the first page are fake. They're listed by people for the sole purpose of buying them from people who get them as drops like you, then they relist the item at its actual price.
It's a trend called price fixing in this game.
A general rule of thumb is if a listed item either
A)immediately gets a trade offer
Or
B)you get spammed by them like in your picture
You're listing the item way too low and are about to get scammed.

Considering how unusable ballista turrets look, and how minions are on the other side of the tree, that looks like a very bad idea.
Yeah there are a few ascendancies that need a rework.
Acolyte is probably the biggest of them, it's just a mess.
Witch Hunter for the reasons you described.
Pathfinder literally only exists for poison (though I've heard concoctions are usable now).
Blood Mage is CBT, but honestly the biggest problem is your first ascendancy actively hurts you at a point where you aren't in a position to mitigate it.
Titan/Warrior are only brought down by melee desu.
Chronomancer is a little awkward but I've at least heard of people using it to some success.

There're actually a bunch of minion nodes on the south side of the tree. They're not all skewered towards the top and top-left like in PoE1. It can be hard to notice because half of them aren't labelled as "minions" but labelled as "allies" which covers party members, minions, and totems like ballista. You can scale minions pretty far on south side alone actually since the values are so high.

I'm not sure if Acolyte is actually so bad or if the tools just don't exist yet and including it was fucking retarded because it's clearly designed in a way that it'll be much better with daggers than quarterstaves.

Mathematically concentration is okay. Lowering enemy CDR is a double edged sword though, it actually makes a lot of enemies more dangerous rather than less, but the values on it are competitive. The big problem is that it really means nothing on packs who die so fast you don't have uptime on it, and 9/10 bosses have forced downtime mechanics meaning that you either delete them so fast they don't get to enter those phases and concentration has contributed very little, or they erase the progress during phase transitions and concentration ends up doing nothing.

Witchhunter suffers primarily from over-balancing. A lot of these nodes would be better if they were more reliable but had weaker values. Sorcery ward is extremely strong when it's relevant but you don't want to invest ascendancy points into a node that'll make you invincible against some enemies, and make you easier to one shot for others in the context of rapid firing maps. Literally every node they have available has downsides that make them inconsistent.

I have doubts about GGG's ability to deliver but to be fair, we've seen a fair amount of gameplay on some other classes that it's most likely that they're pretty well along and they just decided to withhold them to tune or just to space content and keep interest. I think every weapon type except for claws has full values and effects in the data already and ascendancy nodes and weapon skills have been been discovered as well. Spear has a full suite of skills complete off the top of my head, I haven't seen any other weapon types dumped yet.

The really iffy part is them getting acts done and filling up post-game. I'd bet we actually do get them in 6 months but they're just all much emptier than the first 3 acts and padded out with filler. I don't think they'll miss the estimate, I just expect a huge amount of the stuff to be half-assed and need to be fixed post-launch similar to what we're seeing happening with the current stuff. Just force us to play through iterative leagues for two years before the game is actually truly ready.

The issue is that I don't really like what half of Warbringer looks like.
I don't want to be totems. I'd rather just play a Witch if I wanted that sort of playstyle.
I don't like the look of the Jade skill, being locked in place is awful. I don't really understand the Shield thing because my own Shield already has a base of 39% because of a modifier on it, making that worthless. And the second one after it reduces that, and while making it so you can block everything sounds amazing, I don't like spending two Ascendancies for defensives.
The Warcry thing is interesting, but exploding dead bodies sound eh, and no CD on warcry might be okay for stacking Corrupting Cry, I have that on my own Warcry already, but it says it's based on STR which would force me down a STR stacker route, which is cool, but it looks limiting.

I know some people have complained about people not responding to whispering to buy an item, or vice-versa where you invite someone and they don't respond. I had it happen just now where I whispered someone to buy, and they invited me but I didn't see the pop-up. Only when I opened the social tab did I see the invite there. I don't have multiple monitors, I specifically watch my screen when I whisper to get the trade done ASAP. I've had it multiple times where I invite someone after they whisper me, and later they go "where's the invite" or some shit. Anybody else had this?

It's clear to me that this game was designed to trap two different playerbases into buying the EA. Gamer dad souls fans that will beat the campaign and drop it after that and POE1 cookie clicker addicts for everything after that. They ought to fix the fucking server lag first. I can't take this game at all seriously as a "souls-like" arpg advertising focus on bosses when every few seconds my game is freezing and stuttering. Like I can put up with it during the campaign because you just respawn right there, but during maps who the fuck thought it was a good idea to mix souls-like bosses with stuttery online only servers then decide to only give you 1 attempt. Oh yeah and if you die who the fuck know when you'll see the boss again.

People will always look for the most efficient way to achieve any task they are given. It is literally human nature. That's just how people are. And these games, to be good, need to offer a great deal of customization and options, otherwise people hate them (Diablo 4 for example). But the issue with offering so many customization options is it's hard to balance and hard to figure out every single little interaction. The alternative is that you do something like Nioh and make most bonuses garbage, the issue with that is that even then, people will be people and continue to look for the most overpowered crap to optimize until they're insanely powerful and break the game. Which is what people did.

Even if look at tabletop games that have been going on for 50 odd years. People continually find ways to break those games even til today.

NTA. As much as I agree, this isn't a case of people 'figuring out the best shit' through trial and effort. Basically every one-button map-deleting retarded cancer build, the complete opposite of the "vision" they parroted in every single trailer and Q&A, was clearly created by design. Flicker Strike with Charged Blade were clearly made to work together, and Flicker Strike was intentionally made to bounce off the bell for bosses too. Cast on Freeze with Comet was always intended because the only downside of CoF, the energy being based on cast time,was circumvented by Comet having the 'extra cast time' modifier not be part of its base cast time. They knew those would go together. Deadeye and its gay spires were literally buffed this patch.

None of the current one-button map deleting builds were breaking the game. They were just the game as intended, and anyone who thinks these things so blatantly going against the vision aren't going to be gutted pre-release haven't paid attention to the fact that everything in this beta is overtuned on purpose. We're stress testing the cancer because retarded gamers are incapable of holding back on using the most bullshit options available. They left them in these states on purpose. There's no way not a single dev ever just loaded up a pinnacle boss and dropped every skill on a boss to see what happens, and all of these things were guaranteed to be the first things any troglodyte would pick when trying to make a build.

Flicker Strike, CoF, Deadeye's everything, armour break explosions, gas clouds stacking for a big bomb, etc. They're quite literally the first things any person would try on any of these classes. Devs included. Maybe the only thing that's gotten through of all the meta shit thus far is Gemling and that mostly comes down to one silly unique and a character made for stat stacking so it's not exactly difficult to gut it if it gets consistently retarded results.
