Holy shit, I cannot imagine doing this without god mode on, there's so much shit flying around. And he's so tanky too, I blow up t15 map bosses in seconds and here I had to wail on him for a while even though I did not have to worry about dodging.

When people say the passive skill tree funnels you, what the fuck are they talking about? If you start in a given area, there is a reason you chose to start in that area of the tree. In PoE1, all my builds basically had the same general skeleton because life nodes were involved but still. It was always use this skeleton and then branch off and take whats relevant to the build.

I am playing grenades but I can feel the slowness of my clearning because it takes so long for the grenades to come out and even then you have cooldown and mana

You can look at this as a kind of optional/auto difficulty in the same way that using the market is an optional easy mode for PoE, but I'm not a fan of games which expect the player to not engage with half their systems in order for them to present a challenge

Watching a streamer playing Chonk and holy shit what a fucking meme ascendancy. All the breach candies are are strewn so far apart to be borderline useless or they get blocked by a huge group of enemies so you have to fight through to get your reward of a buff you no longer need. It's absolutely baffling how someone thought this was going to be a mechanic worth adding, much less spend an entire ascendancy branch on.

For act 1 it's definitely crossbows with basic shot and juiced leveling gear. In act 2 you can make an argument for bows but I think a good rare crossbow will go faster.

As others are saying warrior is actually decent, you just gotta use normal attack, boneshatter and earthquake, use the charge attack once you get it on bosses. Monk is probably the worst in the beginning. Ranger is probably best.

This is a specific build using an armor, clan, and item set mix, literally min-maxed precisely to have it happen. You have to go out of your way to achieve this one shot. And if somebody switches to a clan, wears an armor set for low life, uses every single offensive buff, goes invisible, and uses one of the stronger single hit attacks inside an optimal backstab bonus they should have it.

The equivalent of linking the flicker one shot and saying that this is how poe2 is from top to bottom.

sure they are. If you change added attack times, you'll need to redo all of the attack speed scaling on the tree and gems. If you change attribute system, you have to change every item and system that relies on it (mana, life, pillar, astramentis, gemling, etc, etc). If you change weapon class restrictions, you now have to redesign all your weapons and skills to accomodate more flexibility, which means a redisign of the trees, of damage rolls on affixes, of how damage conversion and attack damage is calculated. If you want strong minions with non-dogshit AI that means re-evaluating spirit - and then having to accomodate those changes to the existing infrastructure for auras, buffs, etc.

The whole design is a fucking mess of shit

As a new Poe/Poe2 player, the current trading system is the worst I have seen in any game. Ever.

I understand how trading works, and have been trading for a little bit now, and have made a decent amount of money & gear for very little cost - but it is extremely predatory.

It is impossible to see what an item (of an EX value, not taking about DIV costs) is usually worth, because items that are higher in quantity have a ridiculous number of bots listing said items for 1 EX, and ignoring players - all while waiting for other players to list for 1 EX to snipe them ASAP to make a huge profit.

How did GGG combat this in POE1? We are in early access and it is already a really big problem. Why is there no Auction House, Grand Exchange - like system in game (outside of currency exchange, which is amazing.) that would completely take out the need of a third party like the website, and stop the spam that heavily manipulates prices?

I know this is obvious to most people, but to people like me who are new, if you are receiving more than 2 messages within 60 seconds, rethink your prices.

I actually don't hate this design because it removes the bloated "normal attack with slightly different modifier" skills. Why make them when you can turn your normal attack into a cooler skill with supports? Just need more support gems.

The only problem with this system is they locked certain spells to weapons like chaos, frostbolt etc. Should have had kinetic bolt instead and a slightly different one for staves then had those be normal skill gems. Retarded ass design.

That's always been the case and it's better for itemization. Unique should be weird and sometimes build enabling but not the BiS gear unilaterally. Otherwise you get diablo shit with required legendaries in every slot. They should be slightly more common though.

This is completely correct. The only use poe's currency system has is wasting your time on gambling. Clicking a map 3 times to roll affixes on it isn't good gameplay. Clicking a white item 3 times to see if you hit the affixes you want isn't good gameplay. Walking around to 3 different stations every map to sell, disenchant or deconstruct shit items for currency shards isn't good gameplay. All of it is to produce dopamine for the player when shit drops, but then waste your time for 100s of hrs in hope of getting something good. The only people that enjoy doing this are streamers who get paid to do it, 3rd world currency farmers. Everyone else is like a slave chained to the poe maze doing this shit because of addiction

No, the end game is absolute shit right now. I finished the campaign and started maps and was instantly bored. The rng variability on gear is too high drop rates on orbs may be good for bots but it sucks for the average player. Just to roll one item takes way too long. Diablo 4 even with it's countless useless filler item affixes had better loot.

I personally went poison. Gas Cloud + fire wall is still extremely effective once you're high enough level. Toxic growth does a shitload of boss damage too. You really can't solely rely poison effects until you've the first 4 ascendancy points in pathfinder though for the double poison stacks. I think lightning is honestly faster and stronger overall though.

There are some very strong builds with poison concoction now after the buff too.

Yeah I saw the meta is to have her hp at 200 so you can easily outsustain the damage from the form
I am a little worried however that it seems like you need 2 ring uniques or one ring unique and a body armor unique to do this so its an expensive build for sure

Why can't act 1 just be the whole game. Act 2 world map is gay, and the maps are boring. The town is badass, but that's it. Then A3 you can't even see the walls of the area in the very first zone so you die all the time thinking you can jump to the side, but it's an invisible wall. The fundamentals of MF have always been: you sacrifice affixes for more loot.

The fundamental problem with that is, and always has been since D2, ranged characters will never have a problem sacrificing affixes for more loot because they will always be able to clear trash.

Right now, Spark Archmage is the #1 MF character because we can demolish breaches which seem to be the most rewarding content in mapping. I am playing a character with 539% MF, and it is noticeably better at every increment. Presently I am dropping, with a conservative average, 8 exalts per map, 1 divine every 10 maps, and tons of higher tier rares which net me a lot of currency as well. I want to play with better gear like Dream Fragments and so on, but I mentally do not want to equip gear that will drop me less loot.

When GGG nerfs Spark Archmage, there will be another build that takes the #1 spot, and when that build gets nerfed, another will take it's place and so on. Meanwhile characters with 0 MF will always feel bad outside of bossing content.

The fundamental problem is MF.

Edit: Magic Find is an antiquated term originating from Diablo 2. In Path of Exile, the relevant stat is "Increased Rarity of Items Found" this affects both currency and actual items, meaning it can potentially upgrade transmutes to exalts, gemcutters to divines, expert altar robe rares to expert altar robe (tier 3) rares, etc.

Nobody is bemoaning that there's only 3 acts. It's always targeted shit towards balance and the endgame as it is now. They changed focus 8 months ago to tune up this endgame. It's obviously not finished. That's not the source of the complaints. It's how broken the systems are.

Just completed my first t16 map. I like the endgame, but it just feels like more of PoE 1 with larger maps. It doesn’t fit the vision of PoE2 completely. A t16 map retains the same difficulty and slowness of the PoE2 campaign with the floor effects and death effects and bullshit one shots of PoE1. The elements clash and it just doesn’t feel good. The bosses are really good however

I played an Infernalist witch and when I reroll, should I go warrior or monk?

The game is "okay", but there are a number of glaring bugs and a huge plethora of balance issues that need addressing. Leaving it in the state that it is for weeks while you go fuck off on a vacation is just irresponsible and disrespectful to the customers.
