There are so many fucking Monks. I don't blame them though, it's the only melee class that feels good to play right now. I really hope axes/swords are as fast if not faster to handle like the quarterstaff is. Mace is just straight dogshit.

when you get hit, whatever hits you gets frozen or freeze buildup as if hit by cold damage equal to 10% of your mana.
though it's not clear whether it actually freezes you or the enemy but I think it is the enemy since it says "dealing" instead of "receive"
it could be interesting with a cheap meme manastacker as some sort of budget defense but it seems doa for anything past that

you are supposed to pick up expert white bases or blue items and upgrade them if they have good mods
you wont see good raw rare drops (unid tier 4+) until you are deep into maps

You missed out the part where the bolt will sometimes bug and not reload. Or the bug where switching ammo too quickly prevents you from attacking. Or the bug where stuff directly in front of you will miss.

I don't understand how the values on modifiers work. How come they are pretty much the same on lvl 10 items as lvl 60 items?
How come sometimes the value is like 10 HP and other times 150 HP?

either you disenchant all your shit, pick up any promising magic items, regal and then exalt slam. or you sell all your shit for gold and buy from vendor/gamble. or you trade. or you get lucky with drops.
i also took the essence atlas passive and those have been really helpful in getting some upgrades in maps.

I can't see myself using maces ever again in the future, unless they double the speed. It's so unbelievably slow. My main skill is now volcanic fissure with an occasional sunder to explode lava streams.

sanguimancy is still shit initially but honestly it isn't that bad once you solve mana and get good gear and good crit + spell leech node
been farming T15s with low lvl DD + sacrifice with skele brutes + bonestorm for single target, full crit investment. Pretty comfy, I have perma 6k life (WITHOUT the ES to extra life node) and 6k ES with grim feast. Going hybrid life + ES
My only gripe is that using bushwhack boots limits you to 25% ms but I think you can corrupt them for more. That would mean buying a few 25% ones and getting lucky
havent died since last gear upgrade

Same here, my first character was warrior and it becomes very obvious how cucked mace once you look at other weapons and how they don't need windups to do the same amount of damage or can do it from the other side of the screen. There are also some bosses whose design specifically punish melee by either sitting in some bullshit or moving around in way that you can't actually hit them consistently and it's very annoying.

It is a big mistake with maps to make the different tilesets not tied to mapping tiers. Previously mapping had a sense of progression because when you reached new tiers you were doing new ones, and you didn't have to do the old ones anymore unless you liked them enough to uprank them. Now you just do the same fucking shit maps at t12 you were doing at t1 and it feels awful.

So, apparently, during the Molten Vault fight, if you stun Mektul right as he starts to run into the lava to do the lava wave mechanic, it bugs him out and he does nothing for the rest of the fight but walk slowly towards you. Like 0 mechanics. Not even the waves spawn.

Act 3 is very overtuned compared to literally the entire rest of the campaign including all the way to act 6.
you'll have to muscle through it somehow but unironically gets a lot easier.
Use perfect strike for bosses, stampede with devastate+armour explosion+overpower for clearing.

look for a good weapon if you dont have one.

The platform is bugged too and you will clip through the floor while dodging attacks. If you clip your hit box becomes the size of the platform and you die. yeah you need to be autistic though or have all your time to yourself with nothing else to do at all. or be a streamer and make endless content out of it. hardcore was already a stretch in older shorter arpgs, was just a nod back to roguelikes but somewhat enjoyable, now every character expects you to put ungodly amount of hours into it and it's just not feasible especially coupled with the fact that playerbase has grown up and most of it has responsibilities now.

Presumably more weapons doesn't just linearly add builds around their skills and thus add good builds proportionately, but actually give us more by filling up gaps in tools that exist. Most classes can't comfortably travel to other sections of the tree and making their nearby space more playable should help. You see a lot of skills that are unplayable only because their synergies don't exist and not because they're actually bad

Cruel in PoE2 feels to me like D2 Nightmare, which is often easier than Normal if you have a decent build. And in PoE2 I think most people (who didn't get filteted by skills and passives) would get decent build by just picking relevant items and skills. Now, it's true that PoE2 devs could crank up the difficulty to the level of the Chaos trial, for example, it won't be unreasonable.

I'm addicted to rerolling probably because endgame is nothing special.
Think I want to go SSF this time if only because it'll be a completely fresh start that way. So far I've played Chronomancer(no particular skill didn't make it to maps), Lightning Crossbow Witchhunter, and Demon Form Infernalist.

The baseline advice I like to give is
>disenchant rares that you have no use for

>salvage superior and socketed items once you unlock the salvage bench in act 1

>if you have a blue with 2 good mods you can regal it to turn it into a rare and also add one mod
>later on rares with good mods and less than 6 mods can be exalt orbed to add mods
>for attacking weapons you're looking for high physical damage and attack speed
>for caster weapons you're looking for +spell skill level and some applicable damage type or cast speed
>for armor and jewelry you're usually looking for life, resistances and rarity
>for boots you want movement speed

These should hopefully help you avoid some of the common noob pitfalls

Feels like I hit a brick wall at t8, my 'build' is as glass cannon-y as I can get and if anything looks at me I'm dead. I was hoping I could use this character to farm perfect jeweler orbs, but I have yet to see one drop and that is with 121 + 20 rarity find. I got 2mil gold, so I could respec, if I ever find a build that would help with my survivability.

If you haven't played anything similar, I'd say, pay attention to what other people consider important. Like, elemental resistances are important, but it's hard to get a feeling for it, because the game never gives you a breakdown of the damage you receive (unless this info is hidden somewhere). Forgot to add that the vendors refresh their inventory every time you level up so make sure to check those for some potential upgrades

It gives you shards based on the rarity of the item but transmute orbs drop plenty so there's no point in disenchanting them and you need gold

Rares disenchant into regal shards, 10 of turn into a regal orb which are important for crafting
Bad uniques can be disenchanted into chance shards but I'd ask or pricecheck before disenchanting those

Uncut Spirits and Supports are way too rare in Normal acts right now. Hope they change the drop rate or let low level uncuts have a drop chance in maps

I'm not here to dodge roll.

I'm here to min-max the hell of my build so I can go to any boss and tell THEM who is the boss.

I don't mind being one-shot from time to time. Because I'll build my character to one shot the monsters in return.

I don't mind the slow progression. It builds my will to come back to the content and do it FASTER.

I don't give up on my character until every possible upgrade is only on the realm of mirrors. No, I never dropped a mirror in 10k hours, but I never felt that mandatory.

If I can kill a boss within a second, I'll aim to kill in a fraction of second next time. And then in a party of 2. And then in a party of 3. And then 6.

I appreciate the effort the devs take into making the combat slowpaced and meaningful. It makes the progression also meaningful.

But I'm not here to dodge roll. I'm here to become the 1 monster remaining.

And I'm glad that I can still reach my goals in PoE 2.

Simply put you don't. There's about 3 good shot skills right now. Galvanic, Shockburst (exclusively single target) and Explosive Shot.

If you can stand the gimmicky buggy nature of Glacial Shot and ammo swapping you can play that with Frag.

Do you think that warrior has one of the worst starts in PoE2 as far as feel etc? A friend of mine almost quit the game because he started as warrior. What would beef up the skill gem drop pool is making it so that uncut gems could potentially drop with quality already on them. So the gem you cut would already have some quality on it etc. Not sure why uncut gems just drop raw like they currently do. Early on, you want a lot them and later on you don't ever want to see them drop after a certain point because you are rolling in them. OR they should bring back the fucking GCP recipe.

Myself, I disenchant all blues I won't use and this way I get more or less the same amount of transmutation and augmentation orbs. If I did not, I would not get enough transmutation orbs to hit white items as often as I'd like.

How manageable is SSF in PoE2 compared to PoE1 in your opinion? So far I like SSF in PoE2 more than SSF in PoE1. Mostly because the skill gem link shit doesn't really exist in the same capacity. I felt slaved to whatever 6 link I could make or find in PoE1.

Hopes for the other classes? I think shapeshift druid will be dead on arrival if its as ass as demon form shittery. I think human form druid might be interesting though if he has cool elemental based attacks. Huntress I think will be fine also whatever they decide to do with her. In the future, I think Marauder will overall be better than the warrior because the marauder is for sure going to have the berserker ascendancy. I am curious what the warriors 3rd ascend might be though. I was surprised they even gave him a totem ascendancy. It is weird though that the warrior and the marauder are most likely both Karui.

It's literally 1:1 from the ranger footage they showcased and the Q&A after it.
Unless they went back on what they said or changed their design plans which currently don't seem to be the case considering mounts aren't in.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a high spirit cost gem in the future or the rhoa unique armour chest from poe1 being redesigned into providing a mount with similair benefits.

Time travel never works in fiction unless it's not explained.

I hope they don't lean too heavily into it and just use it as a weird way to turn poe2 into a prequel to poe1 instead of a sequel.

Damn, they really went hard on the gems belong to a category now. I think I like and hate that. On one hand, it gives more identity to the gems. The other, it kind of reduces mixing and matching BUT then that lends into utilizing the weapon swap mechanics. The weapon swap mechanics are actually very good but people are just super lazy to use them well. If you think about it, its more efficient to use as many weapon swap points as you can that make sense.

It just means div is a very good currency compared to the rest, which means that uniques dropped on the ground are better or at very least have a wider range of power.
The market simply readjusts to what the value is of items.
Now I hope they buff divine drop rate in the future but I think it's more of a matter of exalted orbs dropping too frequently and the current crafting currency having a limited use case because of the lack of a crafting bench.

It's poebrain. You don't think about mirrors in the same vein. "Mirrors are 100 divines this league" (note: haven't actually checked mirror prices).

Really depends on what they do with the tree and support gems. As is now, I agree, the way gems and the tree work is incredibly restrictive. Dot scaling, penetration, and support gems not scaling or getting quality is also an issue. There isn't a lot of power to go around so things that are currently strong will stay on top unless they change their design

There may be some people giving advice on Youtube based on their experience with PoE1, but I'm not sure how important it is in the campaign to really optimize the build (and the campaign is hours and hours of play time). The way I see it, you should be able to make a decent build by selecting a few offensive skills you'll focus on and stacking bonuses to those from gear and the passive tree.

You have to aim a bit to the side, the character likes to hit empty air if you just mouseover the enemy. It doesnt actually lock onto anything and the perfect timing is a small explosion so you have to rotate so it hits

That's the tricky part. Evasion nodes are nearby, but that's about it. You won't be able to focus a lot on energy shield without losing some of the magnitude/damage nodes. I haven't really figured this out myself. Defensives just aren't great, so positioning is very important.

Evasion + Ghost Dance + Wind Shield should be pretty good maybe? grab all the poison stuff and a few generic attack nodes along the way and path immediately for the big ES or ES/Evasion hybrid nodes

I don't think you do but it doesn't really matter. Let's say you have a level 80 character. You have 103 skill points, round it down to 100 or whatever.

If you spend just 1/4th of those skill points travelling, which is certainly low balling it with how the tree is designed, you get 25 points to distribute between attributes. This means you get 125 attribute points to play with. Divide that by two, and you have +62 to each of strength and dexterity. If you start with like, 10 of both attributes, you're at 72 in each. It would take a single piece of gear to bump both of those high enough to qualify for all your equipment.

This is all of course making some very extreme assumptions on the low side. Realistically you're likely to overshoot all your requirements as long as they aren't extremely greedy.

Yea but the totem playstyle being as flexible as it was in poe1 essentially meant 99% of the spells weren't selfcast viable and had to be balanced around being able to be totem supported.
You could probably already make a chaos damage effigy build btw with Limit increases
The Effigy seems not bad number wise at all

I was typing a response but ailments seem so confusing in poe2
How does withering touch work in this scenario? it increases the chaos damage taken by 50%, so if you hit with 100 chaos dmg the hit will be 150, and then apply a 15 dps poison. will that poison then be increased by 50%?
If it doesn't, then what impact is despair?

That's what I'm using. But I don't play HC, so I don't know what works best there. You'll never be as survivable as deadeye with tailwind, but the one advantage you have (once you set up your gear/build properly) is that a lot of the time you can just walz away and let stuff die/wind down instead of going into the danger head on. But I still imagine relying mostly on evade could be harsh on HC since it's basically RNG.

Peruse craig's list for $1 items. Next go look at eBay. One of these two examples shows you the format of PoE's trade system while the other does not. Maybe that'll give you some real world perspective on how bartering works.

just before anyone says it was made up for poe2

yes when there is projectile spaghetti messing up the screen on boss fights i do that active block skill that lowers armor and just tank everything. it lowers your stun threshold but its very hard to run out of that with a shield up, espeically if you use the 200% stun threshold support gem on the block skill. its basically like an "i cant lose" button.
