I used the TWW 70 boost on my character who only got halfway through SL. Can I go back to do all of Dragonflights story on that character or are the quests all considered complete. I'm an autist and I feel like I NEED to do the quests and story to really play a character. I can't just jump an expac and believe I've been through everything in a sort of RP sense.

i dont know about sod, its like vanilla with changes, many from retail, so arcane mage could work there
i would say overall frost mage > warlock >>>>> arcane mage

Warlock and mage specs are roughly the same difficulty to play with notable outliers destro being easy and arcane have a little nuance. Warlock is much easier in terms of overall gameplay though since it's defensives are more passive in nature. A mage can live more extreme punishments but only if they use their kit appropriately whereas a warlock can often get away with facetanking things. If you want to put in the effort to learn the kit, mage will serve you much better

they did raid themed sets in bfa/shadowlands, and granted, it wasn't 1 for every class, but i can see why they would shift away from that considering everyone was sperging out and begging them to stop doing it
making 13 sets around the theme of a raid can lead up to all of them looking samey
i prefer this way desu. like this tier, rogue, mage, warlock, dk, shaman, monk, all look great

What I think is funny about this entire thing is that the entirely of this shit is based on the fact it's a "new area" you to go to. DF had nothing patches where the totality of what you did was go do the new archives thing in a small section of Azure Span for five minutes a week to get some transmog and nobody cared one way or the other. They could have taken the totality of the siren isle shit and thrown it on the southern section of Isle of Dorn and nobody would have cared but since the context is "you loading screen to a new map" it's being treated as if this was supposed to be a major new area. This is the equivalent to losing your shit over doing Molten Front dailies.

No, Ethereals are the race who's known for teleporting. They've already shown up in the prepatch Harbringer quest and Nerubar Palace using teleporters.
Rootlands is guaranteed to happen at this point because that's where Oreweyna's plot is pointing to and they've already began updating skeletons for Dinosaurs and boars again.
What's more likely to happen is that it'll be the Ethereal's leading the invasion of the Rootlands, because currently Xal'atath has no known forces left and they'll have their raid, be it something akin to Nyalotha or a giant Ethereal space-ship in the middle of the zone, in said zone.

Lowers the chances desu.
They won't pull k'aresh off in War Within and any assets Ethereals have, will be used for both this expansion and midnight. As pointed out by someone else in the thread, the only known allies Xal'atath has left are the Ethereals. If she's going to go for the world core, the Ethereals will be who she sends in to cause mayhem.
The only reason they're getting so many new assets now in the files, is because they're planned to be used in 11.2 and Midnight

If they were going to do K'aresh, there'd already have been files leaked for it, be it assets directly for a void planet, or a map filename.
Rootlands info got purged in the same filename batch that purged some areas of the Ringing Deeps in the alpha
The Ringing Deep areas have returned back on those maps with the latest PTR.
Rootlands is likely going to be the same, because everything in the narrative points to that direction, instead of suddenly you're going to space to deal with the Merchant Guild

You can start in the little villages but retail is definitely doomed, so.
Retail leveling is just dumb it doesn't even feel like a game. In classic every mob you're fighting feels like an actual battle and most mobs feel like a tangible threat. Even mobs you can easily farm, shit can go sideways due to a weird spawns or bad RNG. You at least feel invested and connected and tuned into the game and your surroundings.
Retail is just going through the motions. Nothing is a threat, you have infinite health and mana, everything dies in like 2 hits before even touching you half the time, none of your abilities have any real cooldowns or costs you can just spam whatever anytime, you can fly around at like level 10 and shit, the world scales with you as you level so you never really feel any progression and if you join a group mobs scale with added players so it doesn't actually feel easier or better or anything. It's all such a mess.

This can't be overstated. The issue is that we see so many of old characters return in places like Maldraxxus and Bastion where they do NOT belong (Uther belongs with the Light, Draka belongs with her orcish ancestors) and the central plot is about how opressive and mechanical the Death system is, that it paints a narrative where the Shadowlands being these 6 zones is the only thing that makes internal sense.

Like they didn't even mention other realms or covenants or gods. Not even a mention or some clickable tablet in the raid environment.
Blizzard can say there are other realms all they want, but nothing anywhere in game or outside indicate this at all so it might as well be entirely bullshit (it is).

multischool damage usually behaves in a way where it will benefit most. this is why flameshock deals volcanic damage but lava burst deals pure fire, for balance reasons. example my DK friend told me Paladins can nuke him through AMS now because it behaves as physical damage if they're fully absorbing the holy component, but I'm not sure if mastery scaling is then nullified from that damage.
this game is a mess tho, attack type matters too. ex. rogue shadow or nature nukes don't go through blessing of protection, chaos bolt won't pierce cloak of shadows.

there are spell schools (fire, holy, ice, etc) and then there are multi-schools which combine multiple schools astral (arcane+nature, druids use this), elemental (frost+fire+nature, shamans use this) and other ones like holystrike (holy+physical)

so since your mastery boosts holy damage and holystrike is part holy damage

Seems to be the new Darkfuse company which are some separate sub contractor you can get rep with and may or may not be a retooled remnant of the blackfuse company. The goblins gallywix employs in the raid previews are just kind of wearing whatever but all the darkfuse mobs in the new delves and dungeon kind of have the overall theme.

Because it's old content from three expansions ago? The equivalent to this would be if the Timeless Isle in MoP was just a scrapped TBC zone reused. Not to mention that the Timeless Isle had like 10x the content of Siren despite them having to make it from scratch.

Can someone tell me why the new island from a tiny .07 patch intended to last a month or two before the major patch keeps getting compared to the timeless isle from the final major patch of pandaria that was designed to last like an entire year? It's crazy to think that if Blizzard just hadn't included the island in the 8.2 PTR then no one would have known it was reused and they'd probably have gotten a ton of praise for making an entire new island for a simple .07 patch for the first time ever. And no Forbidden Reach isn't the same because it was there ingame since day one of DF since it was the Dracthyr starting zone.

Not in Classic, no. In Retail you need to know the mechanics ahead of time but in Classic there are barely any mechanics and the ones that do exist are simple enough that you can just wing it anyway.

When I was in a classic guild the raid leader would say the mechanics before each boss.
As a Warlock you might be called to do something once or twice every raid, like banish a trash mob.
To get into a guild, you will probably need to follow a guide to get your pre best in slot gear by doing endgame dungeons first. The class leader for the raid group will probably be up your ass if you don't have the right items.

Use them as opportunities to do stuff like large sweeping balance changes. Actual ones with tree reworks or ability changes etc. Something like a darkmoon faire update. A large dump of new customizations for all races, there are so many things that can be done humans and elves can't even use war paints. Take it as an opportunity to do a sweeping system change like an update to the mechanical animations for visual clarity or update lacking player animations, etc.

I don't know there's a ton of stuff i'd rather them do than another island with rares and dailies.
