I mean it basically is, the only thing I think isn't toddler mode is using the currency exchange, because sometimes your drop rates just get fucked so being able to exchange one currency type for another is useful. If there was a way to do that without having to rely on the currency exchange, I wouldn't use it at all and I wouldn't trade at all. Being able to just buy 95th percentile gear for every slot of your build with trivial effort makes the entire game a joke. It's no different than using a build guide, in fact I would say it's worse.

I am giving up on Boneshatter in the campaign. I'm at the end of Act 2 and I just can't kill the last boss because of the ZERO damage it does. It's great for clearing. Not so great when bosses barely get stunned and when they do there's some stupid ground hazard in the way so you can't even do your Perfect Strike combo.
I give up.
I lost.

Question for the infernalist demon form players,
1. what 3rd and 4th ascendency you going for? seems detremental if you go for any of the big nodes
2. since weapons are meaningless and damage scales with demonflame, do we invest in cast speed and AOE/the specific spell we are using i.e fire damage plus ignite and magnitude of the ailments?

yeah no shit boneshatter is a purely clearing skill
perfect strike is a decent pairing it doesn't really require you to combo anything else with it, but you can empower it and armor break for it if you want.
Boneshatter remains fine though for clearing, it just gets finnicky managing your stun build up % later on

Using Perfect Strike on Jamanra is always a pain. He attacks too fast and 2nd phase has so many tornadoes you have to dodge. Staying stationary isn't a good idea.

1) 4th ascendancy is going to come down to how I solve a couple aspects like mana, whether I'm going to EB+mom, and if I go for 90 fire res. But the obvious first answers are flame globe and phys as fire if non crit and (I'm a fire caster), and the crit node if I go for crit and am grabbing 90% max fire res.

Altered flesh is also a good pickup if none of these are relevant to you.

2) You don't need % damage but there's stats that you could want beyond what you stated such as the +gem level wheels, freeze build up if you're doing ice wall, also you need to solve mana if you go too heavy into cast speed.

Also ES since if you aren't doing EB+mom

I've done it before already. Shockwave Totem was my first warrior I built. I wanted to try Boneshatter in the campaign to test it out.
Shockwave Totem also is amazingly good in SSF where all you really need is + melee skill mods and nothing else.

Frankly, the fact that stash tabs will always be useful and are shared between two games, and live-service type of these games is PoE2's saving grace, because otherwise i wouldnt feel like EA experience was worthy of these 30$.
So far i had almost no fun playing this game, for rn its designed to be overly punishing, restrictive and to be the fucking slog in campaign part (which is uge and tediously painful).

the character customization comes more from customizing your build/style of play, you can really make diverse and unique builds which is imo more intimate or custom than a few character sliders, + theres armor and cosmectics too if you like

You customize what the character does, not what it looks like. You can be a templar running around with a bow or a ranger cyclone-spinning around the map or a duelist casting blood magic spells. Nothing about characters are predefined except their starting position on the passive tree. I'd recommend following a build guide from the start since PoE1 is a lot more punishing than PoE2 if you don't know where you're going on the passive tree, and you can get stuck hard in acts if you're just clicking random stuff. Google "PoE league starters" and see if anything on youtube looks interesting to you.

it's both better and worse, the mod pool is very small and there's no influences and meta crafting and 5000 different orbs
but crafting is dumbed down to like 4-5 simple steps without retrying
so it's better in the sense that it's dumber, simpler and easier to get the mods you need but only because there's like 20 mods in the pool for each item type

If it weren't for playing coop with friends I would've rerolled early but the experience playing warrior is so bad I don't even want to touch the game anymore. That was by far one of the worst action gameplay experiences I've ever had. That was subhuman melee game design. How you can't move at all while casting shit. The start and stop lag on everything. The lack of range. The lack of mobility even with leap slam or shield charge. Dogshit.

How much is +1 or +2 to minion skills worth next to spirit? Is it worth it to trade +2 to minion skills for +50 spirit and lose out on two arsonists?

I've had an amulet with +45 spirit on it for basically the whole game, and i recently gambled out two new amulets that are really good but have less spirit. One has +17 to all attributes and +15% to all resistances but only 15 spirit, and the other has +2 to minion skills but no spirit.
It's really hard to determine the best builds for minions because there's no straight up "dps" stat to work off of

I rerolled after getting to maps. My friends were doing fine and I was getting obliterated with one-shots coming out of nowhere every map despite having high resistances and using shield with the turtle charm gimmick. Armor is fucking useless in this game and we don't even have life nodes, so the STR side of the passive tree is absolutely fucked in defences. You have block and that's it. The opposite end of the tree can easily pull 4k ES as a second HP bar with full mechanics support and meanwhile the close combatants are supposed to get fucked from every side. The two hander or big dual wield warrior class fantasy is almost impossible to pull off in this game.

for grenades you want the +grenade base, idk if bolts care that much about the extra bolt, i only use rapid shot and the extra bolt ain't shit on that skill. i paid like 30ex for something similar with about 50 flat fire but only 50% increased phys but it was the grenade base

Radiant Grief + Fireflower does in fact hit you per enemy that walks into your aura of ignite. For whatever reason I thought it would be interesting to use Pragmatism and use the self-hit to proc free Ruby Charm activations along with 'on charm use' effects but the charms won't re-activate when they're active, which makes sense. Dumpster idea but at least the first interaction is confirmed.

Drops aren't affected by your level as far as I know, but are restricted by the level of zone instead. You won't get XP if you're around 3 or so levels above the zone(don't call them maps, the autists will come for you) so you could drop down to level 36 or 37 zones and be alright. Honestly that sounds really boring though. You probably just start a new character that you play solo so you don't have to worry about your normie friends holding you back.

I loved earlygame(up to T10) much more than endgame in PoE2.
I wish they scaled down everything, or provided "ruthless" mode that also scaled down enemies, but i don't see it happening.
Sad as all leagues will focus on endgame that i don't really like.

Merc is legit terrible. The crossbow skills are ass and you get duped into playing mines rebranded as grenades. You even have to use exploding arrow to detonate your mines, I mean grenades unless you end up waiting up to four seconds on certain grenades. Once I realized this, I quit the game. These retards used Merc for most of their promotional material just for it to be awful. I've never felt so baited by a build and I've played 4k hours of PoE 1 with some god awful homebrew shit.

Holy fucking shit I'm in fucking T6 maps and Lochlann is STILL the worst fucking boss in the game, all the way from fucking act 1. The fucking undodgeable untelegraphed half-screen AoE oneshot slam is fucking ridiculous. It's insane that you can play for 50+ hours and the enemy that was poorly designed at the start of the game is STILL poorly fucking designed.

There's literally no fucking counterplay to him other than kiting from outside of his (fucking massive) range. I got OHKOd by him once and I intentionally played more carefully the next time I saw him, and I still ate shit because it's just not a fucking fair attack.

I want to fucking kill whoever's doing encounter design at GGG, they're so fucking stupid.

I was going pretty slow and got to mapping a few days ago. Overall I had fun with this game but I dread mapping in it's current state. No noticeable power increases, no new spells, just trying to do little minmaxes on my build. I'm not terribly interested in doing that for 30-40 hours.
I did enjoy the campaign, especially the boss fights. Felt cool fleshing out my characrer. I'll wait for a few weeks or months until more major stuff is added

leveling up my second character and making it through cruel today and it's kinda crazy how fucked up the pacing is. act 1 feels great, the zones might be a bit big but there's bosses everywhere that break up the monotony of rolling through them. it starts going downhill once you're putting the horn together in act 2, like going through three nearly empty zones to get to the water goddess. and then act 3 is just a big fucking wall where even the optional stuff you want to do are in gigantic fuck you side zones that take a half hour on their own

I play with Pyromantic Pact and Zealot's Oath. I don't think Pyromantic Pact is possible without Zealot's Oath though. With 600-700 regen I can safely go up to 100 stacks and have ok regeneration and basically infinite mana. For my 1k mana, 4k hp+es and 90% fire res it basically converts mana cost to hp cost at 40% of mana cost. Feels playable even at highest tier maps, but not nearly as good as current most op builds in terms of clear speed because you only have dmg at really high stacks. Still demon form movement is so nice.

The issue is that it's 40%, not +40%. Most shields hover around 25% base block, so you end up taking a handful of block nodes at +50% value and suddenly you've made up the difference.

The thing about those stats is they're kind of bullshit. Most stats are multiplicative unless stated otherwise.

Say lightning damage has a base chance to shock of 5%. Don't know the number, just take that as a guess. A 750% increase would mean your shock chance goes from 5% to ~42.5% chance, and a 100% increase would mean 5% to 10%. And the funniest thing is if you have both they don't stack, so ball lightning will give the bonus 37.5% and conduction will just give 5% for an end total of 47.5%.

It sucks, the percentages are really gay and it's why I completely abandoned crit chance and went straight damage/cast speed and never looked back.

Jeweller orb prices have been going down and will probably continue to go down despite the inflation on everything else, presumably because people are getting rid of their spares after completing their build, but man, experimenting at the start of every league until we reach this point is going to be fucking awful. use trans/aug orbs very liberally, you will get tons of them

use regals on blues with 2 nice mods

use artificers orbs on any decent item, they arent too hard to come by from disenchanting items with sockets

use exalts on items with several good mods (at least 3), but also consider saving them and trading for much better pieces. You can find gear with 3 or 4 really nice mods that only cost 1 ex which will be a massive upgrade. Then you can use extra exalts on that item to finish it

alchemy orbs seem quite rare, I would hang onto them until you either get a nice white base or simply trade them. Trading them for ex or for better gear is probably the highest value.

vaal and chaos orbs are tricky because they can totally ruin an item, I have just been holding on to mine for now

Because they wanted to have two classes for each attribute/attribute combination instead of single classes with 6 ascendancies each. At least it brings some variety into armour looks.

Swords are confirmed to mostly be elemental damage focused. We can extrapolate that there is probably a physical build involving bleed and armour break though, and that there's probably a larger amount of dual wielding synergies than maces have based on the mercenary side of the tree.

Still wondering which between duelist/gladiator or mercenary gets the minion focused ascendancy on the south.

Targeting with marks is bugged with a controller, it doesn't target your current target, just throws it in the direction your character is facing, usually the mob furtherst away in that direction, pretty annoying.

Once you get towers going and using rare waystones (as in alc'd/regal'd) sustain becomes much better. I had the same issue with white maps constantly kicking me back to T3, then as soon as I started doing T7s I've been swimming in map drops.
