Are there any high level uniques besides stuff that drops from pinnacle bosses, or is it all just act 1-3 uniques because those are the only bases currently and the rest (advanced and expert) are obvious placeholder?

Combo skills could work, but it clashes with the rest of the design of the game, why take time to set up some sort of combo with a big pay off skill when a white mob will teleport behind you and shank you to death in 5 seconds flat

Most of the combo skills they recommend are straight up shit or weaker than something you can come up with. On the off chance you do find something good it will be nerfed. Gas grenades immediately got nerfed cause of Ranger instead of altering them to only work with grenades. The worst combo has to be freezing something than using fragmentation rounds to shatter it. It deals less damage than constantly firing your shotgun.

it isn't, higher level stuff drops, and its listed on poe2db. I found Dusk Vigil and Earthbound as random drops, which have level requirements in the 60s and 70s respectively. your assumption is incorrect.

its because it wasnt intended in the first place. chris erik and jonny wanted you to literally talk to other people in stuff like trade chat to trade. eventually the community got them to put in trade API with premium tabs, which was done through a 3rd party trade site. then they released their own site.
so the VISION all along was to make trading a pain in the fucking ass because the d2 boomer mindset of the old way of playing games. so they try as much as possible to still hold their stupid VISION while implementing the most backwards ways to appease the community.

You can currently see all the class names in game if you use a spirit gem. They’ll show up in order of attribute on the left like the weapons do when you use a normal skill gem.
Duelist and Shadow are still their base class names.

Levels are very important for spells so make sure to get +spell levels on your weapon and make sure to upgrade the spell as you can.

we could theorize that the endgame starting at level 65 is a temporary measure to make repeating the first 3 acts easier and therefore more palatable. maybe when there's all 6, the endgame will start at level 68 like in poe1 and the curve will feel more consistent across the campaign.

The forge boss is a puzzle boss. Don't fight it when it has lava buff, but instead just run away. While it is buffed, it has insane damage reduction. Pretty much the strategy is to first just DPS it down, then when it goes to walk in the lava, shoot at it and dodge the lava waves. Then once it runs out to fight you, run away from the lava until it loses its buff and DPS it down again and repeat the cycle.

That's literally how I beat it after dying to it multiple times while trying to kill it while buffed. The lava moves at the same pace regardless of what you do, while the lava buff gives the Forge boss an insane amount of defense. Unless your DPS completely outclasses current content and you're killing bosses in 5 seconds, your best bet is to fight him while he doesn't have the buff.

It's funny how "slow and methodical" really just meant no movement skills and automatic screen clears. You're still expected to be blasting at least half the screen in maps or otherwise you're completely fucked in content such as ritual and breach.

doing more or less damage isn't an aspect of your build either.
poe2's campaign is intentionally balanced so you can just get all damage and zip through it, dodgerolling boss attacks.then in endgame you have to actually make decisions regarding how your character is going to avoid simply exploding to white mobs.
GGG saw that people want to build as glass cannons and balanced the tutorial around that.

How exactly does spark work? I was under the impression that spells that create multiple projectiles can only hit an individual target once per cast but I can clearly see targets getting hit more than once, and yet I can't shotgun enemies by standing in their face with spark. Do the projectiles have to first bounce off a wall before they're allowed to hit a target that was already hit once? Is that why people are running +duration and projspeed?

you just can basically just get damage from the tree until maps and only defenses if you path through them. bosses are a challenge but its difficult to get enough gear to trivialize their one-shots so you have to just learn to avoid them (preparing you for maps when you have to). it's all intentional.

t. struggled in act 3 normal because I had actually got defense from the tree instead of max damage and assumed it was because my weapon was bad.

your entire campaign run is determined by how good your gear is. and since gear is now just RNG slop that you cant fix via the crafting bench, you have to trade if you dont want to kill yourself. there isnt enough damage on the tree to make up for shit gear. this isnt poe1 anymore.

you don't need to use the highest level 2h base type to get a weapon with more DPS than the best 1h you can find. respeccing isn't expensive either.
FYI, it's also actually non-trivial for a ranger to get 212 Dex to equipe the highest-level bows. stats are in the game to add depth to gearing.

it's not worth investing in crit on any class until you get lots of crit chance from gear, unless your skill's base crit chance starts higher than 10% (which fire skills generally don't). better to just get increased damage.

Im still getting no exalted orbs and even regal im not getting much. I've gone through act 1 cruel and at the end of act 2 in cruel and i've gotten maybe 1 exalted orb. I thought an update increased these significantly, is there some potential issue with my character or something? I'm not sure how im supposed to be getting any better gear. I'm level 60 at this point but half of the stuff im using is from under level 30.

Check vendors every time you level up, gamble some of your gold, use common currency to try to get some good mods on decent bases. You're going to be in gear hardship mode in the campaign but once you get a few decent slots and your build sorted out life gets much easier.

But this game is particularly shallow coming from POE1 which did have some interesting things going on here and there. unfortunately it was all explosions and zoom zoom which this game is but with less / more steps depending on the character choice.

Yeah I kind of feel that way with warrior right now. I never wanted to do the giantblood shit because I don't like stat stacking and having to manage stats that closely is annoying. Change one piece of gear and your shit cracks. However, giantsblood actually seems like the only way to go so you can use a two hander and a shield.

Did GGG kind of fuck up in determining which classes should be in the early access at first? Its hard to mix and match anything on the str/dex side of the tree. It probably would have been better if warrior and duelist were out instead of warrior and mercenary. Or perhaps warrior + templar or marauder. The witch and sorceress got released at the same time because GGG wouldn't have been able to launch early access without either of those because so many minion cuck players exist. This why the only stat that had both its classes released was the INT stat. Every other area only got one of its classes. STR/INT got zero of its classes.

the design logic is that if one player has 100 life and 100 ES, its the same as if a second player having 100 life with 50% armour DR.
of course if both players take 180 damage then the armour user dies because armour is bad against big hits and the other one takes half a second to flask back up to 100 life.
the real issue is how well ES scales with minions and CC to keep you from needing to worry about large numbers of smaller attacks.
ALL of the Beidat's skills ought to reserve both 25% of life and 25-50% of ES. it's guaranteed that GGG is going to need to nerf ES in general but summoner survivability needs to be no higher than a generic character, there should be no extra defensive synergy with minions when they are already taking 80% of the aggro.

I don't think so. The flashy crossbow and melee staff playstyles did the job and got casuals' attention. But they also didn't want to blow their load in one update so they staggered the release of Druid and Huntress (another 2 new playstyles for poe). They are probably cooking something up for 1.0 if they're releasing all returning classes last.

Just keep doing maps until you are at t15.
1: Take every single +waypoint quantity and waypoint level node in the atlas tree before anything else.
2: you can use currency items on waypoint to make them blue, and regals to make them yellow. It makes them better and slightly harder. You should always blue them for every map. Yellow if you can handle that map tier. You can also vaal them and regal them but save that for t15 maps.
3: save your BEST map for maps with bosses in them.
4: the pinical of flame is not bugged, you have to get there THEN doryani will speak to you about it. You can see it in the clouds it the fire looking thing.
5: way stone fo into towers, you want to stack their effects if you can

belts with +charm slots are more common now so you buy/craft one and start running a stun and freeze charm. the ideal would be a +2 belt and a chaos charm as well.
you also might be short on a couple of combable skills that would help like pre-casting Earthquake so the monsters also get stunned and give you a timing window.

I think the point of a lot of endgame mechanics is for us just to dodgeroll them and play very actively if we want to keep advancing without stopping to farm for gear, but it only gets really obvious in high-tier. e.g. prowling shades which are probably freezing you have an extremely long windup with tracking, and then won't use that ability for a bit so you can dodgeroll it then just beat them to death with basic attacks.

eh, it's not that bad. you basically only want one thing on your gear. either life or es. you have unlimited portals and free identify. loot all your magic items and then disenchant. then loot the base items you need then you transmute them. if it's good then use an augment.
and always check vendors every level or two.

i know what i need but a lot of campaign gear is still so solid with res gear, but its just not ENOUGH resistance gear is the issue. so any upgrades needs to have a dick load of resistance off the bat or its not worth tryin to "slam"

It's hard to believe. With those defensive stats, you're getting one-shot by white mobs in T15 maps. Just cap your resistances and max out energy shield. You can easily reach 5k ES even with bad gear.
