wild how the entire challenge goes from almost impossible without the right relics, to literally nothing with them, wish someone would have told me earlier that you're meant to farm perfect relics first, before expecting to beat it

My build came online and it's starting to feel really good in maps, but maps feel so soulless.
Herp derp you cleared 10 maps here's your 2 points.
The atlas tree sucks. Here's your +3 rarity and +20% waystone drop chance.
The atlas colors and visualization are awful.
There's nothing meaningful or exciting inside maps.
The clear condition for maps is dumb. It feels really shallow just hunting a few rares.

Level 84 Sorceress just had my first Divine Orb drop. From a white or blue mob (I wasn't paying attention) in a t9 map (I have t12s unlocked) towers.
Was using a blue t9 map just to breeze through a tower map because it's not worth it spending any good waystones on it.
it's so fucking weird and feels like a complete gacha rng.

Recoup effects stack infinitely. If you have over 100% you can't die from sustained damage assuming you don't get oneshot. Recoup being slower does harm it somewhat but it's still a fucking strong mechanic.

I clearly did the wrong build when playing my first character when I played a shock monk. Ice monk's abilities feel and play so much better together than shock monk does. I don't know how much better it is in the end, all things considered but ice monk also has the benefit of being able to use that aura that gives you frenzy charges, and then use the keystone hat converts frenzy to power charges.

There are easy fixes to this. Need to spend gold to buy stuff on the auction house. Gold is only generated by playing. They already solved this with the currency exchange.

Bone hybrids don't work because the bone spells require a heavy cast speed investment while the minions require the life and damage investments so you end up spread too thin and nothing works.

Bone spells need Reap.
When Reap becomes a thing the boner kit comes together

The physical kit simply feels incomplete. BS legit feels good to charge up and chunk the bosses witb, bone cage feels good to pin everything that runs at you, but there is no spell for the quick short range attack on the pinned mobs, and there is no big single hit attack to chunk the bosses when you stun and armor-break them BS.

That and Sanguimancy needs a direct buff like
>-25% to all spell costs.
Then the bone mage would actually feel good to play.

Bone Blast is just ass. No damage despite the tiny AoE and having a delay.
Unearth requires corpses, does no damage and has serious targeting issues.
Bone Cage is nice but deals no damage and there's no way to utilize the pin other than to charge Bone Storm while they're pinned. It also has some serious deadzone issues. The spikes should start at the center and roll out to the edge of the circle pinning anything they hit. Or maybe the opposite?
Bone Storm misses a bunch of targets, even bosses and there is no good way to generate power charges. The aiming of that spell is seriously fucked.

All the utility plays around corpses or minions which simply isn't feasible.

Also no Herald of Bones or some shit like that? Give us a bone themed herald for fucks sake. Release a bunch of bone shards on killing pinned enemies or something.

Unearth is good if you're doing breaches, that's about it. One cast and you get a dozen minions. Use: Unearth; Controlled Destruction; Minion Instability; Physical Mastery. This is assuming you're a full minion character.

It's not so bad if you invest into speed and have a full charge in under a second you dunk int onto a boss and it rips a good chunk out of it's health bar, it also builds up good stun.
The AOE gets big if you use a power charge and nuke the entire pack of mobs.

But when the boss is stunned, bleeding and armor broken you just think to yourself

Bone Cage is good with the pin support, spell echo and duration. Give it the duration support and it becomes a wall you plop down in front of the mobs, they walk in and get pinned.

Unearth and Boneblast literally don't fucking exist. The damage is so fucking shit you will do better trying to DPS with bone Storm.

Trading is important because it ads "value" to items.
Finding a divine orb would be a lot less exciting if you couldn't trade it away, because at most stages of the game a divine is less valuable for actual use than an alchemy orb.

First bit was about Bone Blast.

Storm charges up decently fast with Scattershot since it gets 3 projectiles per stage but I'm not a fan of it will miss a bunch of projectiles on anything that's not the width of the volley. Makes it feel kinda fucked as a bossing skill because of it. And for clear it requires pierce so you're in for a bunch of gem swapping if you want to use it for both.

I've realized that the most powerful minion summoning class in the game is Warrior with Titan ascension. It get a node that increases all small nodes by 50%, meaning those 10% minion damage bonuses are now 15%, and the 12%'s are 18%'s.

I went chronomancer + quarterstaff but with stats i realized I'm kinda shoehorned into evasion/ES for defensive options. Can't really stack max life/str to go with massive amount of recoup.
Currently I got the dmg bypasses ES unique to make use of my recoup, basically 20% DR and then massive ES ontop against those onehits. But there has to be a better way, no?

At least if I could play the POE1 jugg in POE2. I didn't try the POE2 melee yet, and the balance is obviously not there, BUT I can see what they are going for. The intention is obviously to allow different builds to run different challenges favorable for them.

It didn't even have to go to end game you get value off of it extremely quickly. The biggest issue titan has is its position on the tree locking it out of a lot of strategies practically but it chumps merc on most crossbow builds

Don't get me wrong there's a lot of things I'm liking about the game so far and I have hope for the future of it. My biggest disappointment was with how few skills they shipped with and how many groups seem to be missing pieces. Didn't help that some of the stuff I was most looking forward to wasn't included.

I have to admit I am a bit worried about what the game's going to look like in a year. It might take a couple years for them to add all the content they promised.

Why does everyone use crafting items for trading? wouldn't it make more sense to use gold? It's the standard currency in pretty much every other game and also that stuff is in high demand seeing as how that's how you get gear upgrades from the gambling npc.

Because crafting was the norm on poe1, it's called "currency" for a reason.
Also because farming gold is much easier than currency. For example, in D4, you can buy a full gear for a few tens of billions, which translates to about 4 eurobucks.
A mirror sells for around 600, a divine for 4 and an exalted for 10 cents.

Currency is defined by being useless outside of trading. When you exchange useful items it's called COMMODITIES.

I was considering that route. Instead, I did an entirely new build for poe 2. Only cost me around $4k plus got a nice oled monitor. The game looks incredible on it and not one stream out there does it justice. I have all settings at max with 120-130 fps stable in 4k windowed mode. It's great. I never experienced poe 1 like this.

Yeah, it works until cruel. Totems don't scale with your own stats, only passive totem damage nodes/jewels. Therefor they have a damage hard cap that gets weak long before mapping. You can only have 4 totems up at a time if you have the right unique item for it. The spirit for totems keystone is useless because you can't use totems with a sceptre.

Even so, it's a numbers game and you make RNG work for you. You should be picking up every good base and transmute augment it on the fly then drop on ground if it's shit. Craft more on it if good. There seems to be some hidden smart loot system where you have a higher chances of getting related mods sometimes. Just have to get lucky and roll it. Like when you have a staff and roll spell damage lightning damage lightning levels all with exalts etc. Not a coincidence.
Gambling also seems to give well rolled rares by chance.
