It just keeps happening. Established characters that people know and like keep getting sidelined for made up new and/or unlikeable characters and these characters are the ones that are front and center for every storyline and patch for the whole expansion. It's so fucking gross and annoying.

I'm just starting to level my tailor for the expansion now and its occurring to me that I only ever got Weavercloth from webbed mineral nodes and Wax deposits.
Does cloth even still drop off NPC's or do tailors really gotta rely on dumb shit just because they can take a few bits of it to make like 15 threads out of it?

Well good, but my point is I haven't even really seen that on my other non-tailor characters, did they change it to mostly just be tailor drops?
I mean I've got a fairly okay stockpile already just from having 4 miners sending their cloth to them, but churning through that pretty quick.

Also whatever is the ability that replaces Victory Rush they can use whenever that now actually heals for decent amount.

does this even matter, people do +19? The reason why m+ is shit is all the unavoidable dmg and how weak healer were/are and how awful the healing meta is, shaman being literally the best healer and stuff.

i almost like it, but i really dont care for fists of fury, it kills the momentum and vibe of the rotation for me. requires like twice as much chi pooled as any other strike just to then sit there for 5 seconds while your monk plays itself making some pretty unimpressive wooshing sounds and lazy animations (for a better comparison of what it could have been look at something like d3 monks thousand fists or seven sided strike)

everything else i quite enjoy, just that one skill bothers me but its so central to the spec there's really nothing for it. also dont care for the fiddly cooldown lineup to get dragon punch to light up, thats a bit annoying.

i like the fantasy, the mobility, and the strikes are mostly super satisfying and punchy, just that one move that really doesnt do it for me

dagran is just some bookish lad pokin around on a scooby doo adventure family vacation with his mom, uncle and grandad, and connecting with magni will no doubt have done him some good. i dont think he's ever going to be a warrior king thane like the other bronzebeards or a sorcerer king thaurassian.

he seems to enjoy tech and mechanics work since he built the airships, so i'll bet if they introduce the tinker class he'll be a part of that

Because it shows he may be bookish but he's not *squeamish* or *foppish*, which is what so many people accuse him of being. He's a nerd and kinda out of his depth but he's engaged with the world around him and he genuinely wants to get his hands dirty. The makings of a Warrior King worthy of the Throne under the Mountain are clear to see and all it takes is, firstly, a writer who wants to see it happen and secondly, a pivotal moment that hammers the iron.
All that said, I fucking hope they leave him out of the Tinker class quest or whatever. I can already see if they do they'll make him Iron Man or some shit, with Brienne's help he'll make an Earthen Harness or smth and they'll turn him into Roberty Downey Snark.

Sally Toes is fun to watch in the cutscenes. She's fun to listen to in the intercessions. Who gives a fuck if she has greater plans or just likes to fuck with people - The production is letting the VA enjoy their role, the animators are having fun living out their fetish, everyone wins except brainlets trying to come across as smart.

/say works in limited capacities in starting zones at low levels but idk the exact rules there.

They fucked up the ring. It's fine to gate its progression, but it needed to be very good out of the gate and it's just not. With shit gems avail and a max ilvl 642, it's gonna lose out to a lot of 626 rings. It could be a long time before anyone with good rings wants to wear it. I suspect there will be a hotfix soon, cuz it's just hot garbage now. Only reason to wear in SI is to find the chests.

The massive fucking size of all the 'new' islands (Kul Tiras, Zandalor, Broken Isles, Dragon Isles, Khaz Algar) still triggers my autism a little bit. I know some of it is for gameplay reasons, but even the 'official' maps in Chronicles make them way too big.

It's not the principle of large islands, it's the idea that the islands in the Great Sea specifically are so fucking big. They make the big empty area between the continents look less big, and make the Sundering less impressive. It came out. The content island is how all filler content islands have been since Legion.
The main quest is locked between 2 update drops, with the Harronir stuff live currently that takes 30 minutes at most and the Kirin'tor stuff not unlocking for 3 weeks.
The only thing currently worth grinding is the Stormcrow mount while the rares aren't locked to a daily lockout.
Everyone's waiting for the 11.1 PTR either tonight or tomorrow

Flying was a mistake, expanding flying was a second mistake. Dragonriding was a third mistake.
You don't even get the opportunity to take in the world unless you purposefully gimp yourself, and since 99% of the playerbase isn't gimping themselves, Blizz's zone designers aren't going to take the time to make little touches which make a grounded experience fun. The world needs to be grounded or else it is no longer a world. Flying over everything completely spoils the game and nullifies the gameplay of navigation. It's a net negative for the game.

If I could go back and change one thing about WoW I'd round up Frank Pearce, Tom Chilton, Jeff Kaplan and Rob Pardo and tell them to not add flying. Just don't.

No it isn't. It's even worse. Azj Kahet does NOT work with flying, the entire city was obviously built to try and be Suramar 2.0, It fails on multiple fronts but one of the major ones is that you can just fly over fucking everything and ignore anything remotely hostile to you.
There are means of travel across Hallowfall I reckon barely anybody knows even exist. There was time taken to make potentially very memorable experiences but everyone just flies over them. Future expansions will not have this same care because it will not be worth developing for the tiny minority who runs around on a ground mount. Flying totally killed the open world.

The 'open world content' you're talking about was a series of scripted, boring events which most people just seemed to afk because they auto complete themselves. You don't have to do anything to get the meaningful rewards and as soon as people figured that out they just hung around and didn't do anything. The pillars next to the Time Rifts just had people perched on them and not actually contributing. Same now with the Theater Troupe. You show up, get 50 points and afk for 8 minutes. That's not good gameplay.
I'm thankful they've cut back mostly from this asinine form of 'be at place at X o'clock' content because it was never any good.
I'm not comparing it to Classic, I don't want to go back to Classic for anything other than a brief tourism trip. I want the world to be full of life and detail and interesting combat encounters. Flying totally trivalises all of that. It trivialises having to learn about the world around you and it spoils any sense of immersion that could exist. Nothing feels meaningful because you just zip over it at 900% speed.
I am just concerned that because of how people interact with the game world, development resources will be stripped away from actually creating a lively, fun world to be immersed in and instead diverted elsewhere because nobody's seeing it anyway.
Which is why Siren Isle is good. You have to engage with the items and learn about ways of getting around. There are gameplay mechanics which are actually fun. Hopefully the Undermine zone will also have this with the cars.

Speaking of Suramar. In lore the Horde gets the entire Broken Isles under their control with however many thousands of Nightborne living in Suramar. Meanwhile, the Alliance gets the Telogrus Rift which is a couple tiny barren rocks floating in the Void inhabited by like two dozen Void Elves at most. I always thought that was an unfair trade.

Azuna is neutral territory with the Wardens based there.
And Stormhiem is owned by the Vykrul led by God Queen Sigryn from the Mage Tower and Odyn.

Besides the point, Nightborne were only ever given to Horde in the first place, because they wanted to give Alliance Blood/High Elves in the form of the voidspawn. But they knew that was going to be controversial to begin with, so they specifically wrote the Voidlings to stem from a cult so small, they shouldn't have even counted as a race. But here we are, in 2024, still suffering the narrative choices of Legion

They really should've at least made it a breeding population or something. This one pings a different autistic braincell, the same one that the Gilnean Worgen do, which says "You know this isn't really a lasting race, they're going to die out sooner or later." Just that instead of breeding out into regular humans like the Worgen, the Void Elves are all going to slowly die off from Void Lord whispers and nobody else being dumb enough to jump into that pit.

what you meant was Blizzard doesnt have the brainpower to create a good scenario that would lead into the faction conflict as per their history of shitting the bed every time they tried

you can build on an escalation of conflict from the decades of both the Alliance and Horde or their individual races fuck each other over, but its infinitely easier to make everyone friendly so they dont need to make faction specific storylines or zones any longer
everything can be grey goo so the poor overworked indians dont have to do double the work

Even without Garrosh being a retard, her aggression meant the Alliance would have to retaliate, which means the Horde has to as well to defend the fucking Forsaken. They're pretty much the main reason there was faction conflict at all in the main story outside of Garrosh deciding he needed to nuke a city.

It was never even mentioned at all. They seem to be scared of covering any topics associted with reproduction for races.
I noticed the same thing happen in Dragonflight, where the fact that the Aspects and the Dragonflights lost their ability to reproduce following Deathwing's defeat was just handwaived/ignored entirely with how many new whelps and eggs were shitting up Valdraken and the Ruby Life Pools.
They got their powers back anyway so I guess they felt they didn't need to address it. However, between stuff like this, the worgens, the velfs etc it does feel like they are scared to even broach the topic anymore.

There's a massive lack of nuance in WoW's worldbuilding and storytelling. Things are usually told in sweeping racial motions and there's not usually much insight into disagreements within the societies of particular races, which is a shame. Yeah the one who backstabbed everyone later. This is less about why the Blood Elves might get along with the Horde, and more about how the Blood Elves signed up to genocide all humans with the Orcs. Here's the thing that Blood Elves in the Alliance players seem to forget.
They joined the Alliance of Lordaeron due to a debt they took with the humans of Arathor millennia before the first and second war. A debt that was towards the bloodline of Arathor and the Arathi people which died with Anduin Lothar.
Once the second war was over, their debt was paid.
Post the scourging of Quel'thalas, Kael'thas led his people into service of the what was left of the Alliance. Garithos ruined those relations and the Elven population became so addicted to Fel, that when Kael'thas fucked off to Outland with his group of survivors, those left in charge of what remained of Quel'thalas were left with allies as they saw it as who betrayed them. And then the other option, was the people of Lordaeron who were primarily turned into Undead and suffered the same undead slaughter of Quel'thalas, being now led by Sylvanas Windrunner. A very important character, from a very important family in their culture.
So they make allies with their neighbour and old friend, Sylvanas and by extension the Forsaken. The Forsaken then are the ones who bring them into the fold that is the Horde

It's really not that hard to understand how we got to the point that the Elves joined the Horde, over the Alliance led by Stormwind. People who they had no loyalties to.

I remember the manual from WC3 explaining the relations between the Alliance and high/blood elves well enough.
The high elf units like the priest and sorceress were described as being genuinely friends with their human and dwarf comrades, and are likely the ones who are still around in the Alliance as part of the Silver Covenant today, along with Alleria's rangers from Outland.
The blood elf units like the spellbreaker didn't give a shit and had no real loyaly to the Alliance.

The context of TBC is that Quel'thalas was previously ravaged by the events of WC3. The whole north, was ravaged by these events.
Both Dalaran and Gilneas were having 0 contact with outsiders in the northern lands, Stromgarde was hardly even a working capital in Vanilla, with the lands being over-ran with bandits and Ogres.
The only proper civilization still in the area at the time, was the Forsaken who were led by Sylvanas and allied with the Horde.
When you're a population that clearly is struggling with fel addiction, recovery and getting supplies and you're told.

cast bars are not a vanilla feature.
auto shapeshifting for druid is not a vanilla feature.
aura duration is not a vanilla feature.
little things like that. the details are lost.
a lot of these are tbc features, but they still have things like the 20y nameplate range in the game. it just makes no sense. they have no idea what they're doing. blizzard is just extremely incompetent these days.
and the camera issue is that when you move the camera into terrain objects, like a tree, your character will become hidden behind the tree because the camera won't clip onto the tree allowing you to maintain vision. this is not a thing in any version of the game. these objects still have collision too so it makes no sense to me how this would even happen.

Yeah and you eject the minute you find out your neighbor takes "baby back ribs" literally, especially when you fix your fucking well. The only reason you can justify the Blood Elves tolerating undead is because the Forsaken can argue "We've changed, we're people too, not the Scourge," but that doesn't work when you look at the situation on the ground and realize they ARE basically the Scourge under new management, they're just pointed away from you. The Blood Elf populace isn't going to be big fans of that shit after all they went through, even if they don't personally care about human kingdoms.

the thing that strikes me as the most out of place is them siding with the horde, and the orcs. Some of which took part in the attacks on Quel Thalas in the second war. But hey its all good, they can forgive them and work along side them, even if some of those agreed were alive and survived the orcs attacks back in the second war.
Honestly nobody should have gotten the High/Blood elves. They should have stayed a non-playable faction like the Ogres or Vrykul.

Vanilla WoW was the last 'canon', everything after that is just some fever dream. Setting Warcraft 4 after the expulsion of Naxxramas and Kel Thuzad would have been a great canvas. All the major names from War3 and TFT are still alive, you can easily say the Horde and Alliance rebuilt their armies from the adventurers (ie the players) and use some bullshit bronze/infinite dragon nonsense to keep the WoW "story" and existing expansion happening and easily handwave it as the no-longer "prime" timeline and go from there.

Well he canonically introduced Azerite in the setting. Which basically kicked off the Nuclear arms race both sides. He was still on the Horde's payroll in BFA, but after Sylvanas left Gallywix left as well. Gazlowe then took up role of the Bilgewater cartel and brought out all his assets in the Cartel iirc.
Most of the Horde leaders didn't really like Gallywix to begin with and were pretty much fine with him fucking off and doing his own thing now they didn't have to deal with him.
He somehow wound up in Tazavesh in Shadowlands, talking to some Brokers.
And is now back in 11.1 working a deal with Xal'atath using Old God blood powered machines and aiming to fix the Dark Heart for her, which is possibly implied to be some racial debt given

The real answer to this is that customization has always been in the Alliance's favour and Horde's just not allowed anything cool.
>Dark Rangers get stolen from the Horde and given to Void Elves and Night Elves, Blood Elves are the afterthought
>Void Elves get High Elf customization options and options stolen from Blood Elves
>Human's and Kul'tirans now get Half Elf ears
>Draenei get an entire questline dedicated to recruiting the Eredar and unlocking red goat customization for blue goats, that Horde has to do as well for some reason with 0 reward
>Nightwarrior themed customization given to the Night Elves at the end of Darkshore.

BFA was 6 years ago which kicked off this trend and so far the only big customization option anyone on Horde got, was Blood Elves having to share their new options with Void Elves.

Project was probably scrapped in 2022 desu. Likely they had plans to follow up Reforged with WC1 Reforged and WC2 Reforged as addons for WC3.
But those plans got scrapped when the RTS got downsized and they went the Remastered route.

They had to announce Legion at Gamescom in August 2016 to stem the flow I think, they'd never done that before I'm pretty sure, I think waiting until November would've crippled WoD but the legion hype train got people coming back and trying out Tanaan and probably kept the game relatively healthy
I wonder how deep that crater went in WoD.
We know it went to around 4 Million in BfA before Classic came out because of the John Hight GDC Talk
And it dropped to 4.5 Million during Shadowlands even with Classic

We're stuck on a roundabout and blizz keeps swearing the next turn is going to be an exit but then we just do another couple of loops before promising the next exist then doing more loops. It never ends.

This is literally repeating the exact same situation we were in with the Onyx Annulet. The ring is literally identical. The gems function the exact same way. The ring is massively underwhelming and shit because of it. Blizzard buffs the gems by 70% and it's still a dps loss over a regular ring of a lesser ilvl. They're going to do another round of buffs and it still won't be enough, the ring will still barely be better than a regular ring with 10-20 less ilvls just like last time.

To get just two sets, you'll need 100 tokens. To get three sets, you'll need 120 tokens.

Counting this week, you've got three weeks before the event ends (January 7th).

In theory, you can get 175 tokens in a single week (181 in your first week) if you do all the token-granting weekly quests. That's content ranging from solo and open world PvE content, to world bosses, to dungeons and raids, to battlegrounds and ranked PvP.

So the answer your question, potentially you could resub during the first week of 2025 and manage it. But for most folks, that's a bit much, I'd think.
