Could be useful then, it's a secondary stun of sorts. I've found I already stun quite often so a doubling the stun (possibly more/less depending on how much generates) would be nice.

I just wanna chill and kill monsters but death penalties kinda kill the vibe.

Dying in poe means:

You lose your map
You lose xp
You lose whatever mods you added from precursors
And you lose any loot you didn't hurriedly pick up
Honestly it feels a little oppressive.

I'd also like to try the end game bosses but they're so rare I know that I have no space to practice/learn them since after 1 shot you're done.

If you die a few times too you feel like you just undid all your progress for the evening.

Playing maps kinda feels like a constant state of anxiety.

Loving the game and playing it a lot but would like to relax a bit with it and not always be sweaty.

NTA but ball lightning fucking sucks. Arc until the first mob is able to be culled, then chain lighting warps together to clear the pack. NEVER use ball lightning.

Far too many skills are absolute shit and the "combo" meme is frustrating. Why would I use frostbolt or ice nova to freeze enemies when they literally can't do enough damage to do so even with heavy tree investment? It's better for me to clear with arc or spark and only ever use frost wall and comet as my cold spells because the others do 1% of a white mob's HP. And if they nerf comet then cold is dead because it's the ONLY skill that does damage other than cold snap, which doesn't do any form of dps on a boss

I feel like this shit should have all been found in the beta tests, but for some reason here we are with a terrible set of abilities

I didn't say you use ball lightning for damage, you use it to teleport.
Faster projectiles + scattershot and you get 3 teleport targets every cast. It's faster than walking too.

they should add the maze modifier back to maps at least, so you can skip 15 minute long maps if you just want to blast or push out your atlas.

yeah this is just making me less hyped to play
doing bosses with expensive fragments already felt kind of bad with 6 portals if you didn't have a character good at bossing

Either way it's a pretty bad decision. I dunno if their spells scale the same way but on my sorc I was doing like 600 mana worth at the start of the fight before cruel act 2 even ended.

What's the best bow base? I want to try to craft one. Crossbows have been treating me well, except for the times when they decide not to fire for five full seconds after reloading. I'm getting a bit tired of that and want to try something else.

Just learn the systems bit by bit. It’ll take a while but the game and the community gives out enough info for most players to figure out the rest on their own. PoE1 will probably take a year or longer to figure out for a complete noob at this point even with build guides. PoE2 is not on that level yet

Why do people get offended when someone criticizes this game? Genuinely. The game isn't perfect. There is a LOT wrong with it. It is a good game, but it's no where near what it should be and WILL turn into. This is the point of early access, to criticize and complain about the shit they don't like and find bugs. I have screamed at the screen multiple times, "fucking fire the fucking weapon!"
Combine that with the built in delay to start firing rapid shots and its agonising sometimes. Hope they address this at some point

That isn't the issue retard. Bolts are loaded on the icon, the reload animation already happened, pressing reload doesn't do anything. The gun just will not fire until five seconds after you press the button sometimes, randomly.

if you dont have an idea of what things should cost then you're actually in the boned zone because pricing things is legitimately tricky. you can ctrl c your item, though, and then actually ctrl v it into the trade site, and then just copy whatever price that thing is going for, but it's unlikely that you'll have a 1 to 1 match like that. obviously life and resists are what will make an item expensive, but how expensive
the alternative to this is to make a dump tab where you select that drop down of individually priced to just everything goes for five chaos, and then if you get eight billion whispers in 2 seconds on 1 item you can go and look that up and then price it better

People ran the numbers and they weren't as good as you'd think.
22.5% more damage to bosses (more for rares/magic/normies obviously) between 2 ascendancy points. Plenty of classes give 10% more damage as nodes.

Witch Hunter is unironically a melee ascendency. Culling and devastating are traps, the best nodes are Sorcery Ward and explosions, and concentration isn't bad at all if you're bossing. Sorcery Ward+max block+armour stacking is absurdly tanky.

Remember when they nerfed Chayula between the trailer and release to not reset the timer on orb pickup? It's awesome that they were able to nerf an ascendancy's offensive power by ~80% in the last week before release. I'm really glad they got those last minute fixes in to make everything except the 3 good ascendancies complete dogshit. Imagine how hard it would be to get feedback if everyone was playing the other ascendancies. No balance to those nodes until after Christmas, by the way. Still need more feedback from Deadeyes.

It's not obvious what GGG will do. It could be that early access just means that some classes, skills, and items are missing (which is true) but otherwise the game is in its final state of constant nerfing and buffing to create an ever changing meta.

i've got 34 hours in the game and i'm only a little bit through act 2 and i've come to the conclusion that all of the starting skills are kind of hot garbage.
like crossbow not grenades is probably really great when you get to like level 50 and you dont have to bolt / galvanic shard. and there really isn't another option there until then outside of, like, just auto attack
rolling slam bad, but cool looking. earthquake bad. you get to auto attack to set up boneshatters because you dont get leap slam / stampede / sunder until waaaaaaaay later. so have fun in act 2 and 3.
lightning arrow and rods is good though and then magnetic-ing later is kind of just the same thing.
and i guess spark is an endgame skill but firewall spark by the end of act 2 is zzz. you can't do anything fun with electricity until oh great level 50 too.
maybe poison is good? maybe chaos? i've heard no and oh would you look at how far off hexblast is

Im having a hard time progressing through maps because I can't get enough keys to drop. Occasionally i'll do a T7 map and get 1 T7 key on a full clear even with near 200% key drop bonus. But usually I'll get a T5 or 6 key and a bunch of T3s to drop. Am I just infested with the worst RNG or something? I'm nearing the point where i only have T3 keys left

at least in poe 1 you had combos like edc or situational attacks/spells. poo2 it feels like an arbitrary restriction forcing you to press another button just to toggle your damage on.

I sincerely think the GGG people consists of people mostly the kind of people who think Souls games are like uber punishing game for hardcore gamers (IE they fell for the Western marketing, they're not meant to be like that at all lol). How the hell do poison ticks do damage? I understand it's based of my physical and chaos damage, and that things like projectile damage increase it. However when I have 8 stacks of active poison, how is the damage being dealt? Are all the stacks ticking at the same time? Is each stacks damage calculated independently or are they all doing the same amount of damage? If they are all each doing the same amount of damage, how do crits work?

Please help I am just trying to figure out what is worth specing into and what I should gear for.

Right now crit's mathed out to be about as good as regular +attack damage nodes if you invest into it. The point is that you get big SPIKES of damage, which is good for applying ailments. It's pretty easy to get like 2-300% crit multi and a bit of crit rate and while your average hit damage hasn't gone up a TON, your DoTs are now doing twice as much damage because they landed on a big crit.

I die like once every few maps due to not paying attention or because I juiced a map way too much and decided to do breach aswell
Btw breach is like the one very bs thing I have ever experienced in the maps fo far. Expedition has the detonations go way slower than before and so does opening strongboxes but breach is exactly what it was in poe 1 if not worse due to the map layouts being tight hallways all over

"Slowing the game down" at this point would involve a complete rework of most skill gems and half of the ascendancies. Buffing monster health by 200 or 300 percent wouldn't even be enough and would just make off-meta builds unplayable.

The game in average is designed to agressively make your character feel weak every half an hour. Its demoralizing and isnt something thats common in an ARPG.
I emphasize on the word AGRESSIVELY.
Becoming weaker is a motivation to get better gear, but other arpgs (D2, PoE1, TQ, GD, Sacred etc) did it carefully and moderately so you didnt feel so weak that you cant take on the fucking campaign without wanting to kill yourself every new zone.
Character feeling as weak as LvL1 toon every half an hour unless he replaces his lvl 20 weapon with lvl25 lvl is BAD game design.
Feeling that your defensives mean shit because the content is overtuned is BAD game design.

You using one of the few OP builds doesnt make the game easy in general. Its just your build is even more overtuned than the content and will soon be nerfed into the ground. Billions whining about their builds getting nerfed would do that way less if they didnt feel that the content suddenly became fucking shitty to handle.
They absolutely should unfuck power progression.

the endgame isn't really like poe 1. you don't have anything to target farm, juicing is shit, maps are too large, and completing them takes too long. bossing is way too much risk for no reward.

Darkness also is bugged and gets fully deleted on any non hit-based DoT and prevents you from seeing your true HP value until it regenerates.
I like how mobile chonk is though so I guess I keep using it. Leech to ES is my next step forward until they fix darkness.

What game are you playing? This is maybe true in the first 3 acts but in cruel and maps upgrades to your build become more rare as progress is slower in general
You need way more exp and way more tiny adjustments to your gear that cost more currency to upgrade
This only gets incremented the further you go into maps and then you inevitably quit because you reached your limit of enjoyment
Then you move onto another game until an update happens or play another character and repeat
These games are not meant to be beaten or have some kind of end goal

I barely have any additional Spirit on my gear now and I can do ~T10 bosses comfortably on a 5 link Arsonist and 4 link SRS. Either either switch to an Omen Sceptre and get some crit or just pay up for more Spirit on your gear

Yeah. One that walks back and forth to checkpoint. He spawns small bettles and most of the time he's right next to checkpoint when you respawn. Which let's you kill it instantly, take loot, destroy corpse (dd, unearth, raise zombie, whatever), respawn at checkpoint and he's there again.
You can do this in few seconds, that's why it's so unbalanced. Also, some item rarity would do even better
