Everybody plays arsonist skeletons + srs because all other minions suck
Melee minions are unplayable tier, they get stuck in corridors bodyblocking each other and you have no convocation to reposition them (and all minions die when you walk away instead of teleporting to you for some reason, a qol that even d2 had)

Bro I can't even get through act 3.
I tried the searing touch staff which gives +100% ignite magnitude and 100% fire damage, specced some of the ignite/fire/elemental passives. It takes like 5 seconds to kill a white mob. Every rare feels like an act boss.

Evasion is a trash stat because it doesnt mitigate anything, dodging 9 attacks taking 0 dmg and having 1 attack hit that does 50000% max hp deleting you in a split second is worse than taking 10 hits reduced by 80% that barely move your hp bar allowing you tor recover

I've unironically done more crafting in the last week than the 10 years before that. for me the mapping and skill tree are also easily upgrades.

the thing I get people not liking as much is the lack of a clear target "at the top" of the atlas. yet people didn't mind delve just being "go down", so perhaps GGG could just tell people that the endgame is about going to fight the wicked witch in the west and to go in that direction.

Witch has 1 bricked ascendancy, blood mage. Sorc stormweaver is really good. Play an ES based lightning archmage build and you'll have a good time. The items aren't cheap though, as good = meta = expensive.
You can also play ES based minion witch though... but being a minion cuck?

It opens a portal that constantly expands and spawns shitloads of powerful monsters that rush you. Right now it's a retarded event because it's pretty much the same event as in PoE1 but player characters are like 70% slower in everything unless you're doing some gamebreaking metabuild or you're otherwise very powerful. The extreme punitive outcomes are making me quit

I'm a 10k hours PoE1 player so I was really looking forward to this game. So far I share the sentiment that many people do regarding various aspects like visual clarity, clunkiness, etc.

I have absolutely LOVED that finding rares is rewarding and the loot overall has been really satisfying.

My problem however is how punitive it is to try and engage with the end game. You want your 4th ascendency but you hate Sanctum? Well you gotta do 3x 75/10 ultimatums. That's 30 waves if you fail none of your attempts. All to get ONE boss attempt. You want to fight a citadel boss? Spend hundreds of maps finding one. Attempt the citadel. If you die, you lose your XP, your T15 map AND you can't reattempt it. Now you've gotta find another citadel. You're doing a map with a boss and league mechanics? You stand to lose all of that + the map + XP if you fail once.

It is absolutely insane and demotivating. How can I justify putting that much time into something that leaves me with little to no reward and essentially not give me what I wanted ultimately? I don't get to learn the fights because they're so far between each attempt. I hop on to play, do an attempt and if I fail, all the fun and excitement I had is gone and I don't even feel like mapping.

This just isn't what ARPGs are supposed to feel like. It's supposed to suck me in and make me wanna play all day, but I've gotten to this point now where what I need for my build requires this tedious, long winded, mostly unrewarding work.

It's pretty easy to start with a +lightning skill staff, and with Spark+Firewall you're flying through A1. A2 gets a bit tougher and A3 is really not fun as a pure lightning sorc, you really shine late. Minion version is way easier to play, Infernalist is the top class in HC for now.

That's ~50ex and without it CI/Mana stacking loses a lot defense... it's a great build but if you start from zero and aim for CI, it's getting expensive. You can play just a regular archmage spark build and get good results but if you want the CI greatness, it'll cost you.

It's small things everywhere too. For example 95% of the uniques are dogshit and no one wants them even with high rolls for 1 exalt.

I dont even need to go far for an example - just started playing Sorc today - Sparks do shit ton of damage from Lvl1, one-two tapping the pack of mobs, then you pick up Orb of Storms and it removes 1/8 of white mobs HP bar per chain.
Same comes for boss damage.
The game has too many laughably undertuned skills.
There is no reason to play caster without going full cold, sometimes lightning, there is no reason to be minion cuck without SRS, there is no reasong to play ranger without LA, and its not that the difference between weak and strong skill is miniscule and its just players trying to maxx, no - the difference is enormous and weak skills wont allow you to even move through the campaign.

Realistically nothing should be worth anything except the few uniques that go on the top end builds, and mirrors (for the clout.) There are zero item drops in campaign and infinity item/currency drops in late maps. You get 2 ex per fucking map. What are you gonna do with them all? Shove them up your ass? There are only like 20 mods you can roll on each item type.

evasion isn't bugged it's just not good in poe 2 since you can't lifestack like you could in poe 1 so even if you have acrobatics + high evasion all it takes is one chunky hit to kill you whereas in poe 1 you could survive chunky hits here and there

i noticed with warrior that i was struggling like mad until i started using skills that directly complimented each other. like specifically a bunch of them are about using slams and activating each other, some are random fire damage stuff, but the easiest synergy to activate by far is heavy stun with leap slam + boneshatter. it feels like they tried to make a few groups of skills clearly usable together but only really balanced a couple just to make sure people had a reliable path forward. that or you just need to find the right skill balance to invest to make the clunkiness go away.

The bosses are very obviously not meant to be one-shotted like PoE1. Also, it's just a bad boss design all around for various reasons, the first one being that it will drive away more players who do not know how to make one-shot builds. Secondly, and this contributes to the first point is that the fight isn't even particularly hard, just time consuming. No one wants to play a cat & mouse against a boss that actively tries to avoid the player for no real reason just to slowly chip it's health away. The biggest reason why people hate the fight is because the boss avoids the player. It's just a completely retarded boss design.

I know but what's the point of the bosses then? Why have them at all if people destroy them instantly? It's very obviously not supposed to be like this because you might as well just play PoE1 then and the devs have been very adamant about wanting PoE2 to be slow and methodical. The funny thing about map difficulty is that it makes tiers not feel impactful at all. I notice no difference between tier 1 maps and tier 7. They're both just "kill things quick and maybe die instantly to some effect/monster you didn't see"
Maybe tier 7+ are significantly more challenging, I haven't tried them yet. But 1-7 might as well be the same thing.

The further the trade leagues goes on, the less exalts will be used to upgrade your 3 mod rare gear in campaign and more of making a 20ex 5-mod rare potentially worth 100+ ex. You also get enough ex in the acts that you can simply buy basic rares for 1 ex to blow past the final act boss and low tier maps so it's just a matter looking for different ways to gear up when inflation hits.

I'm getting bored with POE2 because even though I really love the gameplay and have had more fun doing pure no-mechanic maps than I did in juicer POE1 maps that just can't last forever
League Mechanics are the meat of POE's endgame satisfaction and I just can't do them because they're way too rippy for a game that punishes you severely for failing
Ritual was one of my favorite mechanics in POE1 but I just can't justify doing it in 2.

I think Poe trading site is broken with prices and has some fucked up weird value for divine orbs. It values divine orbs around 7-8 exalts I think which is very far from the truth (20+)
So if you put a price on the item like 10 exalts it will appear lower in the list (sorted by price) than 1 divine orb. Lol. Lmao

I haven't really been paying attention to the store but every now and then I'll read the dialogue that comes up. The water goddess story is actually fucking mind-bending. It fucks with my head. There's this goddess whose people are all gone and no one remembers her and she's just been fucking sitting there. They were waiting for her to awaken. Just in the room before you read about this woman who was doubting that one day the goddess would wake up but she had total faith. Convincing herself. But they never saw her wake up. They all died out eventually having never seen their goddess wake up. And here she was awake just wishing to die no one remembering her. And then you kill her and it's all just forgotten. This entire civilizations centerpiece, their goddess who they hoped would wake up. Dies in this fizzle having woken up and no one cares. It just fucks with me. It's amazing.

I think it's fine how it works, pathing for masteries never felt good. My problem is that the tree itself is just pretty ass. The south side of the tree feels so fucking ass with how many different modes are spread down there forcing you to travel for shit. The lack of resistances in general makes fixing annoying. A lot of options are very poorly tuned.

Since all my leech is based on physical damage did I go slightly retard here

I got frost blades, cold to fire, sweep increased fire, consecrated ground, herald of ash, herald of purity, precision

I like the range of frost blades, but would it be better to drop maces and do shattered steel or something since all thecdamage is physical and go all in on bleed and poison instead of some bleed and fire

Frost blades destroys every mob in 1 hit basically
