I hate that I'm seriously tempted to swap to MoM or CI-based defenses on my Chronomancer. Even though my ascendancy gets 30% recoup and doubly effective recoup effects, you can't get enough life to make use of it. I could get 8000 mana or ES instead of this fucking 2500 life pool that I had to use MAX LIFE ROLLS ON ALL MY ITEMS TO ACHIEVE. No life nodes on the passive tree was so fucking retarded.

Reached t14 on poe 2 and came to the conclusion that I just wasn't having much fun. 2nd character really didn't feel a lot better even though I had a lot of currency to make good leveling gear.
Came back to poe and started to work more on my hexblast occultist. I don't mind playing mines desu, but I do hate that they feel so much better then regular hexblast. Revamped one of my atlas for beyond stuff because I've never really tried it. Completely worthless, haven't had anything worth any value drop.

It's okay. Probably will be better when more skills are available though I don't imagine significantly more support gems are gonna show up (minus brand specific supports or mine specific supports.)
The ascensions being more generic looked cool in theory but in play I'm not overly impressed with the idea.
Not a big fan of the skill tree. Maybe it is just building a functional character by defensives first for so many years that poe 2 system of learn to dodge and blast doesn't feel right exactly.
Honestly though hoping that with them trying to make things a bit more beginner friendly we might get some quality of life stuff like an in game showing of how big aoe skills will be with increased area of effect since they show the damage gains from a node (for some skills not all.)

Merc is just fine with a bow.
Witch can use Quarterstaves okay.
Monk can be a caster without much issue.
The only annoying part is that cutting gems requires you to change pages cause it always defaults to your "class-aligned" page.

If you're worried about new players missing new gems, make the other tabs glow when you reach a new tier of gem.

i don't think you can open it without a gem, i don't think you can really do much of anything with the gem system unless you are the right level/stats for said gem.
i really want a way to use high level uncuts to cut low level gems. i assume they will make it better.

All the broken interactions have already been discovered

Yeah the t0 items are overpowered as fuck but like I said it doesn't actually make the gameplay any different unless it's Queen of the Forest.

I think I'm just done until the next 2 classes update

in poe 1 they functioned the same way but the links were on your items not the gems.
if you wanted a 6 link you had to have a body armour or two handed weapon with 6 linked sockets.

Alright lads, 1488 frens told me to post this here for help.
I am not very good at ARPGs and this is the first time I've just done my own build entirely instead of following someone elses. I have ADHD-combined (not the e-girl cutesy kind) and concentration issues are a huge issue for me so trying to keep track of everything I'm doing with the build is hard.

I'm hoping maybe some other fellow autist can help me refine my build.

Level 60 witch in Act 3 Cruel, I am doing fine for the most part but am unsure how to make the build better.
My "rotation" is generally cast bone cage to stop mobs from advancing, then cast Vulnerability on stunned mobs, Bonestorm to kill one or two, cast unearth to spawn minions, and then focus fire mobs that are still under Vulnerability so I can chain that when they die and intermittently casting unearth for more minions.
I have cast on minion death, but only have enough spirit to run a single Skeletal Brute due to running Grim Feast and CoMD, who casts flame wall when he dies so I can launch Bonestorm through that for extra damage.

My bonestorm hits for almost 2,300 damage, with the unearth buff it does roughly 2,800.
My DPS against mobs seems OK, and my DPS against bosses was fine through act 1 and most of Act 2 but it seems to be dwindling pretty quick.

Any tips or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I have 7k hours in poe1.
Every achievement, killed all uber pinnacle bosses and t17 bosses.
Im lvl 83 gemling in poe 2 3 out of 4 ascendancies.
PoE 2 is inferior in every way. More locked down skill system, passive tree with very little comparative power inside it. Very boring crafting, the only fun thing to do is vaal craft a corrupted implicit or add another rune socket. Gearing is very boring. Uniques feel bad. UI is a huge problem. There shouldn't be a 10 second loading screen every time you open your map up. The campaign is a legit slog. Mapping is by far the best thing they changed and even that is only a side grade to the poe1 mapping system. But even within mapping, dying is way too punishing. You could die at a moment's notice and lose 2 to 6 hours of progress either from losing exp or losing access to a pinnacle boss. The randomness is also frustrating. You can go hours in a straight line and find nothing to progress.

The first one is rough but far from impossible.
Try to pay attention to afflictions when selecting rooms, picking bad ones makes it much harder.
You also kind of need decent DPS to do the boss without it being a pain in the ass so upgrade your weapons/skills where you can.
You can also just keep running the trial and failing it until you succeed, it's decent loot to run it repeatedly and the monsters are much easier than some of the stuff that's out there.

Deadeye is pretty much the best ascendancy in the game owing to tailwind, which makes every build feel better. The evasion aspect of it isn't negligible either, but skill and movespeed are fantastic.
On top of that, the projectile nodes can contribute a lot to the lightning skills you'll get in the future, such as Ball Lightning or Spark.
Pathfinder has some universally useful points (moving quicker while casting, flask effect, extra passive points) and has one that helps your build specifically (lightning exposure from the Concoction).
So both can help you a lot. I know the trial is a hassle, you can postpone it somewhat, but definitely get it.

This is partially why I've played a lot more Standard in recent years. Legacy items helps to offset the vision. I had forgotten about those non-curse aura cluster jewels until I was rummaging through my storage tabs the other day. It's actually kind of nice to have for a build!

I think the Path community crapping on Standard has done a huge disservice to many players. Standard is quite active but pootards don't believe that (obviously, because they don't play there like I do). Also, every complaint from having to re level or maintaining some semblance of pre-3.15 Path is solved in Standard League. To varying extents, anyway.

I mentioned the non-curse aura cluster jewels earlier and pairing that with a pre-nerf Ashes is pretty fun when slapping a build together. It may not be the perfect min-maxed solution but personally I use this combo for a Heist runner.

It also reminds me how I wanted GGG to rename Standard to Eternal League. I think that would have better communicated the concept to new players and casuals. For endgame players it doesn't matter 'cause we can figure things out and play Path like a sandbox game.

I'll probably end up playing ruthless in poe1. I love the poe1 campaign and poe2 campaign is dog shit in comparison. I also love running labyrinth and ascension in poe2 is gay. Love really, really gay. Performance in poe2 is also really bad. Poe1 runs at constant 60fps while poe2 is at 30 to 40 for no real graphical upgrade. Lastly controller support is way more solid on poe1.

I think its pretty good overall. Best campaign for these kinds of games in terms of engaging gameplay. Im holding off on telling my brother to play it until they add more content. I know he wont want to endgame but will play through the campaign. I cant wait for new classes myself.

your first mistake is using bonestorm (a channeling skill) for clear. Don't get me wrong, Bonestorm is amazing for single target burst DMG but for clear it's not that great even with powerchargemaxxing
the good news is that the fix is easy since you are already using most of what you need
>start using DD (detonate dead) with sacrifice. Replace CoDM with sacrifice and grab yourself a chunky minion sceptre with +2 or more minion lvls, spirit and maximum minion life
>link DD with spell echo, magnified effect and ambush
>link bonestorm with brutality, pin and faster casting
>get bonecage and link it with pinup, unleash and rippen (or whatever the 15% of phys dmg as armour break support is called)
>link your skelebrute with meatshield and minion mastery
I don't have enough time to check your mobalytics shit but you have to grab the physical spell dmg nodes, minion life and importantly the minion revive faster nodes AND most importantly "% chance to not consume corpses/recover % on life when consuming corpses". The "% chance to not consume corpses" nodes are big, it will allow you to have multiple "uses" of your skelebrutes without them dying. I would suggest investing into crit since bonestorm and DD have very high base dmg and crit basically turn them into nukes. The phys nodes on top that say "break % of enemy armour when you crit" are important too.
You don't need any fire dmg node since DD scales more with phys dmg and most importantly minion life, though grabbing that one fire pen line near the start of the witch tree is nice because of the +10 strength
Also, consider using bushwhack boots which will make it so all your phys dmg pins (big bone spikes that immobilises enemies) but you need to get some dex to be able to use them. Once you have them, you DD will also pin enemies which is big. Basically everything you hit wont be able to move. You can drop the pin support from bonestorm by then, and use inevitable crit if you dont have enough crit yet

Balance is whack, some ascendancies should be named descendancies instead. And when you take into account the shit you have to unlock them it's really fucking bad.
Hopefully they're fixing all that in due time and not in 10 years, I would rather have them focus first on what clearly doesn't work instead of hammering on what "breaks" the game.

Since all my leech is based on physical damage did I go slightly retard here

I got frost blades, cold to fire, sweep increased fire, consecrated ground, herald of ash, herald of purity, precision

I like the range of frost blades, but would it be better to drop maces and do shattered steel or something since all thecdamage is physical and go all in on bleed and poison instead of some bleed and fire

Frost blades destroys every mob in 1 hit basically

I can spam sweep and out leech the hard hitting rares at the moment

map size feels much more "correct" the second time round in Cruel just because you know where you're going and have a bit more ms. I think ggg will leave it and just add the new teleport to checkpoint system.

ideally, you want +3 skelebrutes with 10k max life each
I am currently at T5 maps and so far it's amazing, though I am a bloodmage investing heavily into crit. crit DD and bonestorm (specially with supercritical) hit VERY hard. Sometimes the brute DDs crits and it literally deletes rares without me even realizing they were rares. You WILL run into mana issues, so you better have a good mana flask and clarity. Also get some cast speed on your rings and wand. Forgot to add, you also need a +4 phys wand with cast speed, some crit chance and some spell dmg, which you can grab for 1~2 ex.
The whole point of DD + sacrifice is that your brutes will go toward enemy packs, you can cast DD on them and they will nuke the pack twice. From there, you can use enemy corpses in a chain reaction. DD has amazing AoE with magnified effect so the clear is amazing. again, I suggest going crit because of how much potential dmg Bonestorm + DD have with crit. If mobs get close to you while your minions are down, pop bonecage and it will most likely pin them.
Once you have bushwhack boots, even your DD will pin which is amazing. As for rares, blast bonestorm to pin them and shred their armour, and once they are armour broken, let your brutenukes evaporate them.
DONT try delirium because deli mobs dont leave corpses

In Path 1 or in Path 2? I would tell you to farm Harvest in Path 1 if you had zero idea on what to do. That's easy to do since it's just killing the monsters in the garden and collecting the seeds. Then, bulk sell those seeds through your premium tab.

I couldn't help you with Path 2. I haven't played and I doubt I will until the summer or by next Christmas whenever GGG actually releases the full game.

I'm not expecting patch 3.26 until February but I would be happy to be wrong. I don't have the currency for 1-passive voices so I loaded up on some Scintillating notables with 2-passive 8pt jewels and small mana ones.

20% Mana, 5% Lightning Pen. That and the little crit wheel helped with my DPS. Also be sure to grab Thrill Killer (north Scion area) for mana sustain while Delving or playing Simulacrums.

The rest is mostly uniques as I'm sure you're going to find from poe-ninja. Mjolner, indigon, ivory tower, etc. The hard part is that strength+intelligence+mana+es ring that you're going to want to use with a kalandra ring. Get crafting!

Path1 recommendation would be to try and get your chaos resistances to 0 or slightly possitive. This helps to combat what is mostly DoT chaos damage. There's also the Arakaali Pantheon that's effectively free. In Path2 I don't know other than to say, it's probably the same: try and bring that rez from negative to positive and go from there.

There's also CI (chaos inoculation) builds that makes you immune to chaos dmg.

In poe 1 it's about the item level of the base you're using it on. The unique will have 'requires level x' and you need a base of at least item level x to hit it. Hold alt while mousing over an item to see the itemlevel.

Lightning is absolute ass in Act 1 though.
You only have Spark (meh damage at low levels) and the microscopic AoE lightning bolt from a staff for damage. Arc somehow does even less than Spark because of Flame Wall and your other support skill is Orb of Storms, which is okay.

You can't make enemies or enemy modifiers that are designed to punish you for being in melee range in a game where you have dedicated melee builds

Choose the socket you want to use. Then click on any passive notables you DON'T want to have allocated. Choose lethal pride. Choose akoya. Choose stats, "gain # rage on hit". From the results, you can either manually look the jewels up by seed or hit the "trade" button to do it automatically.

Manually, you're looking for the mod that says "commanded leadership over x". Where x is the exact seed from the website.

Only the notables give mods that matter you can ignore the rest.
And only pick the notables that you actually want to path to on your tree. Most people put their lethal pride in the socket south of that one though, se corner of the tree.

Otherwise the pic you sent looks fine. Maybe deselect the mana and evasion nodes, but if you're on a budget you might need to settle for a suboptimal passive cluster for rage.

Its much worse now. You could use a crapp 6L chest early on if you needed the 6L badly enough.
Now with the price of a perfect jewelers orb, your build needs to be rippy as fuck with 4L and a 6L is extra once you're rolling in the cash.

Campaign gameplay 10/10
Endgame gameplay 7/10
Main issues with the endgame is lack of content and white mob tuning.
Main issues with the general game are lack of skills, simplified ailment scaling and weird item balance, but could be nostalgia on my part.
I like most of what people complain about like on death effects, 1 portal maps, kill rares to complete, ascendency being hard. Changes to dodgeroll made the game worse.
They are beginning to balance the game around endgame which will eventually ruin The Vision, so I'm scared.
I would prefer they keep poe1 and 2 mechanically very separate and actually develop poe1 more (new graphics and stuff)

I feel like there are moments through the game where it's super obvious your gear has fallen behind in defenses (incredibly noticable acts 1-3) by just not upgrading to the next base type and white mobs chunk you. Combined with the very annoying map design they have done for the campaign maps makes it miserable ( fuck You dreadnaught map with spear fags)

I've only been playing PoE a few years and always very casually. It feels gutted in Poe2. Less variety of uniques and the uniques that are there are 90% not even worth the inventory space tier.
Skill gem synergy cross archetype seems very anemic.
Passive tree feels kinda shit, too. Lots more nodes I guess, but rather than going "I can't wait til I get this cool node in six levels" its "Oh I've got an extra level.. I guess I can pick up this damage node"

I don't find your comments about the passive tree correct exactly, but I think generally it's a worse version of the tree because of your other points and that a lot of keystones are just worse compared to PoE1. I look at chaos nodes around monk, the only ascendancy for chaos damage right now, and it's nothing around, and have to travel 20 points into witch to start finding meaningful nodes. But if I was one of the 10 elemental ascendancies there is plenty of shock and shock magnitude :)

Yes, we are missing all the melee skills that usually could be equipped in multiple weapons, so hopefully the updates will fix this. That said having stuff like glacial cascade locked to staff is not promising. At least spells are still universal.

I think limiting the game speed by less MS modifiers around is generally a good thing, but it really shows that PoE monsters (probably true for PoE1 still) are way over tuned and when you can't simply out speed them the game feels way worse. I still think it's insane that half the campaign zones have mobs who deal chaos damage and or poison you, or zones that have ranged or melee with long range and it's like heist on release when 15 monsters attack you all at once, only this time you don't have a travel skill or 3 defensive auras to protect you

It should be either reduced movespeed or no moveskills, but not both.
Especially with these egregiously huge maps. If the endgame maps were PoE1 sized, it'd be fine, but one map is upwards of 10x bigger in endgame.
There's also the fact I feel like they fucked with the armor formula again, cause armor feels borderline useless even versus trash mobs.

You make divines by collecting things other players wish to buy. So, consider farming harvest seeds and bulk selling those. That's just one example out of dozens. There's gazillions of currency-making guides out on YouTube covering this sort of thing. Divines are a rare drop unless you're doing something specific like playing Sanctum which can reward divines more consistantly.

In fact I think we have to go back to patch 3.11's Harvest League to craft those old school bleed bows; before their subsequent nerf. It wasn't the greatest but it had a good league start "1 ex" starter tag to it. Wasn't great in that 20ex department but once you shifted a few hundred exalteds into the character and you're rivaling any other B-tier end game build. Which is, good enough considering DoT cap is 30-something DPS.

7/10 but I haven't gotten to maps yet so just campaign

- Plot so far is played extremely straight, somehow refreshing and tedious at the same time
- NPCs were pretty boring. My own character (merc) was also kinda bad, just that common lame-o snarky archetype, the type of dialogue where you expect them to say shit like "X, why'd it have to be X?" or "now it's personal"
- Difficulty was very easy in overworld, bit harder for boss fights but mostly just from getting 1 shot by big overhead slam
- The golem boss was bugged as fuck, hard to hit and I was constantly teleporting off the platform or onto his arm
- Third act maps were too big and boring as fuck, emphasizing flaws like low move speed and low enemy variety with all their reskins
>"crafting"
- Basically played solo self found in standard as a complete noob to the genre, 0 of my crafting interactions were fun and in every case I would have been better off just trading the raw materials, I don't know how many levels of gamba cuck you have to be on to enjoy this system
>loot
- Pretty sparse to the point it was almost a joke, my character would excitedly quip about finding a treasure room and the loot would be shit per usual
- all my unique have been shit, like literal joke items like "cobbled together helmet" or some shit
>audio/visual
- Really enjoying it, extremely Hyborian-pilled, would rate 8/10 if there was a bestiary

Any modifier that says "increased" will be summed together with other identical modifiers. Any modifier that says "more" will be multiplied after completing the previous calculations. 40% more is actually going to give you 1.4x the damage you had without it, so "more" damage is almost always better than "increased".

Don't get hit, retard.
Also depends on your build. You can easily stun the boss into boneshatter -> warcry -> perfect strike. Then play bullet hell until you can stun it again.
Or just overlevel.

Items always drop as tier'd rarity. Everything that doesn't explicitly say a tier is tier 1. Goes up to tier 5. The higher the tiers, the more 'bad' mods that won't show up, which means tier 5 items are likely to be good when they drop or at least more likely to get good mods when you craft on them. Essentially a form of a smart loot system.

I'd give it a 5/10 currently. There are a lot of rough edges and the content just isn't there. Mapping feels like shit and controller is bogged for a lot of shit. Also crafting, atlas tree, and build options are kinda shit right now. High points are boss fights, music and atmosphere is incredible.

Just did the Stone Citadel after going out in a straight line for 2 hours, realized that it was just a reskinned Doriyani fight so I finished the map, dumped the fragment in my stash and logged off
I don't think I will be logging back in, it's not very interesting, building a character feels pointless when it's 99% about rolling at the right time, like my damage isn't great so I ran out of manaflask and I was just rolling and basic attacking him for the last 15%
I haven't seen another skill I like yet so I'll probably drop PoE2 for a while and go back to PoE1 when(if) the new league drops

poe2 feels much more restrictive in a bad way. i really do not like that you can support gems only once and the stat requirements are massive.
the tree feels full but also completely vacant, with very vew stand out nodes, wich causes stat stacking to be my go to. offence and defence are less layered, less complex.
and the dodgeroll is used for 1shot bossmoves i guess, but the overall gameplay is just as cookie clicker.
i legit had a bad experience from the start because i picked crossbow, a friends said i should try something else and i did have fun sorta, but now that i´m in cruel the glaring issues are too big to ignore. i think i like poe1 more, and i quit that game years ago.

i also forgot how vile the arpg community is. you people, generally speaking, are a miserable bunch.

No it's still great for bosses. Sacrifice with 75% chance not to consume corpses let's you pop your minions 1-4 ish times before they die. That's using brutes but I think using warriors might be fine to get even more pops before your minions all die

As a straight action game, its actually a 8/10, it does play well and is super smooth. But as a rpg, its 4/10. Item stating is lame, a lot of builds are really simple to build out, not really anything interesting in "solving" the game, which in a lot of ways is a lot of the fun of PoE1.
Figuring out the meta yourself, or making off meta things as good as possible, or just making something you think is fun viable no mater what. This is a much more interesting type of game to play then one that is more about learning boss pasterns.
