Monk before they nerf it. Amazing clear with both heralds and you can basically insta phase any boss once you have bell + flurry strike with a good weapon. Only the early leveling with glacial cascade is a bit bad.

There's only ONE time you actually need to roll and it's during the final wave of spears.
You need to stand close to one border so you only potentially get hit by ONE side. Then you just move out of the way or dodge that one side and ignore the other.

I didn't even know about the buff but the big gap is how well you can hit her while flying. It always puts her into heavy stun if you do enough during it so the fight is highly build dependent. I had explosive shots so it was free for my first character then aids on my perfect striking warrior

I just wanted the buff because it gives a rarity boost
I couldn't really hit her while flying outside of dropping a vine arrow in the middle (I use them to heal as well) but her second phase is really easy once you realize the big fire tunnel's safespot is directly behind her and she sits still while using it

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, there were some nice parts but the campaign zone layouts are still very obviously procedural and soulless, it's no Elden Ring
I will give them props for some of the Aztec vistas though, they look great until you walk another 10 meters forward and realize you're in another gigantic chalice dungeon made of the same pieces copy and pasted

We were promised slow, methodical combat and meaningful loot that took effort to get. This has gotten way out of control. Damage is out of control at higher levels that are easier to get than poe 1 and we're getting showered with loot. Game is quickly getting cheapened and ruined.

GGG, free idea to solve the 40 hour slog on a new character problem. Once you've completed the campaign during a league you get the option to enable "every campaign map is fully revealed" on new characters, that way you can beeline it to objectives/etc if you want to, you can run it normally if you want to, and you aren't just teleported to maps.
It's not bad since it's new but no one's going to be making multiple characters 1-2 leagues in.

I only play true ethical SSF hardcore. I delete every meta unique I find because it is unethical to keep it. When my character dies, I delete every item in every stash tab because it's not true ethical SSF hardcore otherwise. I Vorici break every six-link I land because it is unrealistic to ever six-link an item in true ethical SSF hardcore. I skip the Labyrinth because Ascendency Classes are unethical powerhouses. Every time a Vaal Orb drops, I immediately use it on a randomly equipped piece of gear to increase the challenge. I've had global chat and trade chat disabled since I got my beta invite back in 0.9.2d, the Merveil fireball optimisation and curse duration patch, because player interaction gave too much advantage. I've sent at least 84 emails to GGG support over the years asking for unlimited ignore player space so I can make sure that no one talks to me when I'm in town. I read and listen to every lorestone, notes, books to fully immerse myself in the true ethical SSF hardcore experience. Every time I go into this general and read the word "meta", "trading", "blade flurry", "clear speed", "Headhunter", so on and so on, I make sure to thrust my giant vibrating dildo one to three times to punish myself accordingly for tainting my TESSFHC experience. I've stolen at least a dozen credit cards from my parents to pay for the 3,250 normal stash tabs that I have to show my support for GGG and the true hardcore game that they have developed. It deeply saddens me that PT left, he was the only one that spoke only truth. Why do you self-proclaimed SSF hardcores even try to pretend that you're truly SSF hardcore? You make me fucking sick.

It's actually just about the same relatively speaking at all levels. At higher levels, you make far more gold, but each refund costs more. It's a bit silly how it's done. Like 1 hour of grinding gold at level 30 might get you 1000 gold which can refund 5 points. 1 hour of grinding gold at level 60 might get you 10000 gold that can refund 5 points. Just made up these random numbers but it's to demonstrate what I mean.

It is. Really, the only bad thing is starting with rolling slam. It's pretty garbage as a noob. But once you learn about mace strike and putting gems in it, you can dump on any boss in act 1 with it. After act 1, other skills start to get better. And then you realize rolling slam is actually good early on when you learn the mechanics and realize you're supposed to use it for stun build up so then you can unleash massive damage on a boss.

I just finished the tier 8 maps missions, I had already specced my atlas tree for more/higher map drops, yet I find myself with 0 t9 maps and a single t10. Why. I've already played 50 hrs of this slog why should I beat my head against the wall grinding just to let me proceed as I am right now not limited by anything except actually having the maps
I think I'm just going to peace out for now. Really strange we've reverted to pre synthesis league style where ggg thinks maps should be hard to come by

To be fair it needs to be removed, poison arrow through flame wall is way too good during campaign progression compared to anything else available on bow or xbow
They've mentioned making the explosion damage scale based on the damage of the detonator which is a sensible way to do it. I should be rewarded for managing to get off a charged exploding arrow or using exploding shot to detonate vs just having all the gas instant explode because you used a rank1 wall

Ironically its not, because every time it lands, it has long windup animations which gives Warrior a lot of time to Perfect Strike and take like 30% of the boss health with one attack. Only problem attack Chimaera or the Ultimatum Chimaera has is the Frost Breath because you can't get behind the monster to avoid it. You just have to run away, no other option.

The poe 2 Atlas and passives are far worse than poe 1. Am I alone in thinking this or no?

I absolutely hate this procedurally generated atlas. I much prefer poe 1's atlas. You could target maps you liked. You could target mechanics you liked easier. There were bosses in every map. You just had way more control over the way you want to play in poe 1. The atlas was the best innovation poe ever created for endgame imo and they abandoned it to copy the only reason I quit last epoch.

It being infinitely sprawling makes it get unruly very quickly once you've ran even 100 maps. If you travel far it starts to get very easy to get lost visually, and it will only grow the more you do it. With no search function it's a mess. But even with one it would still be awful.

Being that you can't rerun nodes it gets super messy. Not to mention actually navigating around the quests (apart from run x tier maps) isn't even remotely straightforward what you have to do.

Atlas passives are also very restrictive and getting more mechanics you actually like (from nodes) is going to take ages. Map sustain is pretty poor so you are going to have to take map drops where you can and ignore other nodes you might want or you'll start to have to run low level maps or have to buy them.

I'm really loving the game overall (and I'm even melee) but this Atlas sucks. I could live with the 1 portal maps and low sustain, but I don't know if I could do many seasons of this procedural map nodes crap.

Am I alone in thinking this?

The easiest way to add more support gems, keep the current 1-per system, and encourage combos between moves would to literally just make combo gems. Generic combo description says something like, [if X-type combo gem is used after Y-type], then do [gem's unique effect]
Suddenly I have a reason to press 3 buttons and they aren't all 25% multiplier gems so it's not overtuning the individual abilities

That doesn't make much sense because they have multiple dedicated detonator skills and crossover with crossbow gas grenades
What I could see them doing is removing the ability for gas to explode when hitting Ignited enemies, because Ignite is way too easy to trigger and as soon as it's on you get to spam instantly exploding gas arrows 5 times back to back. If gas can only be triggered by Detonator skills generally then things would look more sensible, but Exploding Arrow still needs more help to be in any way viable so I think it's still a good idea to have the damage be partially based on the detonating ability

A cheap solution would be after removing Ignite to have a gas explosion also double the damage of the detonating attack once so you get the gas explosion damage plus extra damage on Explosive Arrow

take the herald node, its probably the single strongest notable on the tree
you will probably also need some evasion wheels later, monk has absurd damage but struggles with survivability

Even as someone running two (2) Heralds, the Herald node is still weaker than the elemental damage per chill/shock/ignite nodes. For the same 4 point cost investment (there's no chance you're getting Herald unless you're just pathing off the gem node) you get 70% global elemental damage vs Herald's 24% + single element 50%. And if you have a way to ignite them, suddenly it's 1 more point for another 30%

I haven't got galvanic burst yet so my main dps against bosses is high velocity shot. It might be good once you get there and have the shock unique but otherwise it feels mediocre levelling.

Combine this with

I really don't know honestly, I was/am having some issues where some storm waves just go completely off target. I thought maybe I didn't have enough accuracy for long range skills like that, and it did get better.

Evasion has honestly felt pretty garbage so far desu, I'm probably just gonna focus more on ES. I do need more AS as well though yeah.

because the poe1 league has been out for 4.5 months and all of those streamers have played it for 500+ hours.
it also doesnt help that settlers is an awful league for endgame. once you have upgraded the town, settlers gives you a tedious idle game (shipping + mapping) and an extremly unpleasant crafting method (recombinators). nothing more. it doesnt add anything to the experience of running maps

People are taking instant massive aoe abilities which hit everything on the screen passively and then they're using them to kill single target bosses
Attacks which hit all of the things all of the time with zero commitment should fucking suck on single high health targets
If your build involves hiding behind 16 minions who do all the damage for you then your build should be underpowered meme dogshit, period

The game has a design space problem, because it puts slow and vulnerable charged up single target attacks in the same space as instant low commitment screen filling AoEs but then people expect to just be able to use the latter for everything and never have any downsides
If your instant low commitment screen filling AoE does good enough boss damage then you can't reward the player for overcoming the limitations of the slow and vulnerable charged up single target hits

just dodge everything and burst dps him when he's on the platforms if its the first chimera
if its the trial one, just use the arena to your advantage and do the same. burst dps then bail out and wait for him to resurface. he makes a lot of noise so you can gauge where he is based on that and position yourself properly
and as I said, you don't need to waste pots if you have regen, because you can do the same as him and run up the stairs or back down to the lower level and wait for regen, and he won't attack you

That sounds like a good solution. I think limiting supports just ends reducing the desire to use multiple skills anyways. When only a few skills can have the best supports that's all you're going to us. But maybe that will change when they add more skills and supports

I had the level 4 trial of chaos boss down to like a quarter when I fucked up and walked into a lightning circle that killed me
I was thinking god this is so bad there's no way I'll finish 10
I went back and tried again 2 more times but didn't get past 3 each time due to some truly awful detriment choices
With 10 seeming more and more impossible I gave up and went to bed
Later on I found out that all you need to clear the first time trial is to beat that level 4 boss
Which I had down to a quarter of life
Motherfucker I was that close to first trying trials of chaos blind
And then I got discouraged due to not knowing I only needed 4
Like seriously, motherfucker.

Early leveling is trivial, all you have to do is equip a mace and boneshatter. Use your staff to use vaulting impact, then hit them with boneshatter. Later you can use that one wind staff attack i forgot the name instead of vaulting impact, it is safer and stuns even more.

What are you guys doing for the mana situation on your monks? When I hold down left click with all the attack speed nodes I'm burning through about 500 mana per second so I'm constantly mashing the flask.

As someone that fucking hates this game, but I'm still playing for now, I agree. But it did help me understand the iframes a but better.
I ended up staying near the top and dodge rolling through the top row of spears when they all lunge in, which was the only thing killing me.

Totem warrior feels strong. I can now place three at a time and the only enemies I have any trouble with are very fast moving ones that aggro on me instead of my totems. I destroy rares in seconds and bosses in less than a minute while hunkering behind my shield and taking literally zero damage.
Stack melee damage, totem damage, totem placement and stun threshhold.

Yeah I'm really liking the way different playstyles. Poe1 and other games kind of felt just like diff flavors of same char, this game its like the chars are completely different. I've already rolled 4 characters and am having a blast.

This, 1200 hours in poe1 (I know that's not as much as many autists) but I'm loving the game. Poe1 last league was pretty damn sweet too, first time I felt like rolling multiple characters in a league. I'm having fun even releasing zones for testing and boss fights in this, and rolling new characters for testing too
