No, listen guys - this isn't an issue of GGG hating the playerbase.
They have failed to nail down the very basic core gameplay of any ARPG (leveling, loot, itemization, skill balance, defensives, map layout) that they themselves have figured out 10 years ago and industry have figured out more than 20 years ago.
There is no conspiracy in here.
It's specifically the blatant skill issue.

unfuck ult/sanctum. my 4 floor crashes at the twins so i can't finish my build.
probably tone down ultimatum considering the average players gear.
i would love a temp move speed buff if you are not near enemies for more than a few seconds to make doubling back in maps less of an issue.
other than that i'm pretty happy with the game, looking forward to leagues and expansions.

I don't want recycled poe 1 league content for ascending. Sanctum is the worst league mechanic and game design they've ever done.
Crafting is really gay now.
There's no exciting loot. Even if a bunch of good currency drops, I'm not excited.
Uniques are boring.
Weapon lock is retarded and has to go.
Need pathing through the center of the tree to open up build variety.
Camoaign is too long and boring to do more then once every few years.
Add regret orbs back. Settlers gold vs regret was perfectly balanced to use gold early on and regrets end game.
Make the damn quest alert button quit popping up. I never want to see it. I can't help right clicking it to hide it.
World map loads so fucking slow and has gears when loading in certain scenarios. Sometimes it's instant. There's no excuse for there to be any load time on this thing. I have pretty much the most up to date hardware possible and it's awful.
Bump base movement speed up a bit. Maybe 10%.
Remove dodge roll. It adds nothing to the game. Movement skills are a lot more fun.
There's so much more, but this is off the top of my head. The game has a long way to go and I know they won't change most of this. It's not looking good.

I just spent 5 minutes browsing the poe subreddit, boy that was a mistake. It looks just like the d4 subreddit after launch. They want to turn the game into d4.
Blizzard listened to reddit and completely fucked the game up, turning it into diablo 3.5.
I sincerely hope that GGG ignores all of those cunts.

i dont think this game is that hard. im pretty much a certified retard and act 1 was a cake walk. maybe Monk is OP or something though because that's what i'm playing as. i'm on act 2 now and im still having no difficulties, literally just walking through the campaign killing everything as i go

Whirling Assault feels like it's doing weirdly low damage. I'm counting at least 9-10 hits in 2 seconds based on my combo counter, which should be like 400% dps (same as my current skill), but it feels like I'm doing half of that. Some of the hits feel like they're whiffing weirdly or something too, I count anywhere between 6 and 12 randomly. It's really annoying that I can't consistently get Mantra back up to 10 after each use.

The mapping system is a straight downgrade.
How do you look at the perfect sytem of 1 and decide no I want to throw that shit out in favor of the system prople hated in D4. This was supposed to be the boss fight game why have a boss every 4 maps. If the combat is good people are going to clear the maps out of their enjoyment you know you don't have to force it, they also want to drop loot. The amount of times I had to open the map and search with the arrrow keys where that last motherfucker is is too many.

alright, so i'm not totally batshit crazy
finally figured out why my bolts/unearth/contagion is aiming at seemingly random shit when i'm trying to do boss fights - it's an untogglable lock on feature
if i have to switch targets, i have to ensure what i want to hit is red, and i can't be near bodies
i didn't show in the video, but i tested this: if you are aiming at an enemy and attempt to unearth while your mouse is near a corpse, your aim will lock to the corpse *even if you don't have los of the corpse (eg your unearth can just go into a wall until you stop holding click, regardless of how far or not in the direction of the corpse your cursor is)
the fact that i can't explicitly stand in place and direct an ability in a specific direction feels really weird to me coming from d3 and very limited poe1 experience (dropped d4 day one and never came back to it)
i've found no way of forcing ability direction like in d3 where you can hold shift and so long as your cursor isn't on an enemy, it will aim at the cursor
your cursor also will lock if you're aiming at nothing while holding an attack and hover over a corpse, and again, if you don't have los, you may end up attacking a wall until you release your button, no matter where the cursor is on the screen

I think gear/skill requirements should be dropped a little, you're forced to all-in on your type so you're completely starved of anything else, particularly very early on and mid game, or maybe add more attributes on regular nodes so you can spend traveling nodes on filling out your other needs. Either that or bring back some form of the crafting bench. I don't mind if it isn't as strong as it was but just something that gives some of the more common "fixes" like attributes and low amounts of resistances (currently your only option is investing socket currency and runes which feels horrible during acts because you're out leveling your gear quickly).
They need to fix some annoying bosses, like the Chimera and (for melee) the Act 2 boss. The Chimera in particular is a huge time waster, he just won't sit still so you chase him around the whole time trying to chip him down (much worse in Ulti).
Zone sizes needs a rework, some of them are just unacceptably large and empty. And while they're at it fix those zone quests that have been bugged since the start.
Chests (particularly rare chests) should give more, gold would probably be the safest bet.
Defenses feel like they aren't there at all, but saying that I haven't tried armour yet.

Probably tons more I'm not thinking of.

Having played a Warrior to level 80 and easily able to do t12 and up maps and face tank pretty much most content.

I now understand why people are calling Warrior shit despite that.

Playing a Witch now, it feels like I'm playing PoE 1 again. Just Contagion, Unearth with a Scepter with Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Archers, I am able to clear everything in seconds. This is a completely different game compared to playing a Warrior in the beginning. Contagion and Unearth pair so god damned well with one another, in seconds I can have an entire screen filled with Contagion while my minion army body blocks everything and keeps me permanently safe and if that's not bad enough, I can just hide behind my shield while they kill everything for me.

People say X skill is useless or Y skill is useless and i think there is some way to make a build around it you just need to be creative.
Look at this though, what is this? these are placeholder stats, no doubt. The weapon skill page has skill locations that say "coming soon" as well. Crossbows arent even done. They have like 11 other weapons to add with a bunch of ascendancies too and the ones they have out now are placeholder. They really scrambled to release this after 5 years of dev time? Makes me feel like they arent even sure what to do with some of these classes. I am having fun with the game so far, merc ammo system is a bit cumbersom though, idk im hoping xbow + sword on switch will be good.

My prediction is that the campaign will be the cool PoE2 "vision" but devs will say fuck it and let people do zoom builds at endgame by full release and switch to buffing things that cant zoom rather than nerfing the "fun" builds.

I just rolled with my self made mercenary build without looking up anything to this day
I do have 50 hours in the game though but it's not hard to figure out what you want to do in this game compared to POE 1

What's the fucking point? Crit is such a shit stat. I don't know why they added so many gems that function with crit when it's completely worthless.

I was struggling very hard in cruel 1 and got hard filtered by geonor. Then, I went and just spent 60k gold to respect most of my tree into lightning damage + lightning penetration instead of crit. What a difference, I actually started dealing damage again. Not nearly as much as my friend who's playing Merc but that shit seems overpowered so it's expected I'm not shredding as hard.

Resist balancing is pretty torturous. I'm sitting at maybe 40% fire/lightning and a pitiful 8% cold/chaos, despite every piece of my armor having resists on it. I don't know how I'm supposed to get better resists really other than checking vendors every once and a while and praying for a decent rare.

For Chronomancer, I absolutely love the time rewind. It's hard carrying me through so many fights, just because you can reset big hits you take or reset your mana after dumping it all. Plus, you can put reduced cooldown gems on it to get it more often. I just hate that it has a cast time so I get caught and die even if I'm spam pressing it. On the other hand, time stop is comparatively fucking worthless. I don't know what they were thinking with 60 second cooldown on a 3 second timestop (more like 2-2.5 with cast times between the stop itself and the skills you use). It's just a worse panic button than the time rewind, with 10x the cooldown. I think tomorrow I'm going to refund it and just go for the cast speed/recoup part of the tree, because cooldown reduction doesn't really make sense when none of my spells have cooldowns.

I thought it would be cool. Turns out, when a node says +10% additional crit chance, it means off of the base value. So when arc has 9% crit chance, the ""+10%"" is actually +0.90% overall. Hence, despite having ~20+ different crit nodes on the tree I barely hit 40%. Then, nothing even scales off of it. It's a shame

As for lightning, yeah I am discovering that now. I respecced into cast speed and damage, and since I'm almost out of damage nodes I'm heading for more cast speed and mana next.

Overall i liked grim dawn but i dislike the skill system they went with. Although it does allow for a lot of creativity its awkward from a balance point of view. Easy to abuse or almost brick your character depending on what you do. Its kinda like D2 where you can put 20 points into a skill, and some are not worth putting 20 points into and some will carry much of the game for you if you focus on upping them first. One summon might carry all of act 1 if you put all your level ups into it, another summon might be a piece of shit and waste of points because it is meant to be played in a mid game build as a support for other skills.

it's just taking full advantage of your ascendancy nodes. you also get 10-20% free extra duration for stuff like arcane surge.
enemies are always around you in poe2, the slow combined with your stupid cast speed trivializes a lot of stuff, lightning also really likes weaving into packs with the warp which you can combine with temporal rift

Lightning gets this which makes going non-crit on low budget a lot more attractive.
Lightning has a much larger damage range than other elements so being more likely to highroll is more impactful than you'd think.

Curse is always a dps boost. Penetration only penetrates resistances, so it goes down to 0% resistance.

It would be cool if it applied after penetration. Here's an example

If it reduces by 40% first, then the monster is left with 20% and you penetrate that resist so it has effectively zero. The curse would be useless because you were going to penetrate the resists anyways
On the other hand, if it penetrates first, that would mean it goes from 60 to 0, and only then subtracts 40% so you'd be getting 40% increased damage

I didn't get all that into poe1 - how exactly are you supposed to progress your gear? I get some exalts and regals but it feels like I don't want to use them because it would be a waste. And yet I desperately need more resistances and defense but I don't want to use my crafting mats. I typically just check vendors to find rates that are already decent but I'm at a point where I can't just wait around until a vendor sells something. Is there a "proper" way to do crafting? They could've fixed resistances. Right now in PoE1 you either have max resists or you basically have no resists. This should've been changed so that resists get better the more you invest in them, but the investment diminishes, so there's no hard cap every build has to have.

Don't bother saving regals. They're not worth that much. You just want to regal items with two good mods for your build, but you might have to ID blues or transmute/aug white items to find good regal candidates.

You can use the exalts on the item you're going to keep the longest if you're playing SSF, or just go buy shit on trade with them if you don't mind killing the challenge (trade makes the game trivially easy).

I haven't traded for anything yet but I've been making do with drops and crafts
This is my current loadout, a lot of it was self-crafted but I don't have many Regal Orbs so there hasn't been a lot of room to experiment with yellows, all of my attempts at making a yellow Dualstring have come out very poorly with much lower % Physical. I ran out of gold gambling last night to try to get a better ring (successful) and a better belt (unsuccessful), but I'm back up to about 20k now.

I'm not actually sure what stats I should be looking for because I don't know what can roll on what, like I checked the trade site for +% Chaos damage stuff and it was either jewels, foci for Witch, or like +3% on rings and stuff. Outside of Chaos damage, what other stats benefit poison?

I've been fumbling through various setups and haven't really found anything that felt good. Any setup that requires you to swap ammo in combat sucks because it has a huge delay.

If you can shock reliably with shock nades the lightning rapidfire one is great for bossing but it's worthless if the target doesn't have a shock or electrocute.

Poison deals chaos damage.
The explosion would deal fire damage (though you might be able to double dip since it's physical to fire conversion, check what "Converts" says).

No, it says the Poison Cloud does not Hit.
The Poison Cloud and the arrow Projectile are two different things, you can fire it at any enemy and see a large hit of initial projectile damage before the ticking from the cloud starts

if you watch is slow enough you see 3 tnt throwers standing close together and dying, once they die 2 of them drop tnt at their feet, which explodes shortly after.
i have no idea why the 3rd one did not explode, might be that they only drop them if they are in the throwing animation.

50% is a big number that doesn't really change the core principle. I use this support gem on crossbow basic shot currently to use after gas grenade armour break buildup. However the damage doesn't seem too good. So i'm considering using longshot for a more stable damage boost against bosses. But then again 7meters distance is quite long so i'm not sure if i could use that consistently as well to get more out of it.
I guess Explosive shot + blowing up another nade would be the combo to be used to consume with a big hit so it's probably depens on the build one is going for to be able to properly utilise this support gem.

It was right to nerf the triggers they just overshot. Comet isn't strong enough on self cast to really justify it being nerfed directly while hitting it would just have it replaced by the next best skill on the same trigger. They'd have to balance every spell around being triggered like that for all time.
