That's part of positioning too. You want to hold good defensive spots so you can hit a character like Venture or Genji on their way in and at minimum needs to use CDs to get in.

So I was taking gooner screenshots like the degenerate faggot that I am, when I just so happened upon a mercy getting doinked mid flight that I found hilarious. Normally I don't give a shit about seeing the Mercy lifeguard skin because it has jorts on but I decided to peek under the hood this time because why not? The buff doesn't seem that huge on paper but she does feel way better to play. I think it's a bit of both since you don't have to force Ashe or Reaper just to cope with the enemy tank as much like when Dva was deleting everyone in 1 second.

The overall balance feels pretty good except Mauga exists.

Yes, but if you queue your black man jump or punch before you land, ana will only have a few server ticks to hit you and she will have to prefire you within about a 50ms window. Sleeping doom coming out of meteor strike feels more lenient than shooting tracer coming out of recall before she blinks or shooting reaper after shadowstep, but before he wraiths (both of which are 1 tick i think).

Well I too wish there was a better Overwatch than Overwatch but every other shooter is worse. I gave Rivals a good amount of time but got tired of the terrible maps and balance and more than half the roster being throw picks and goats x10 healing output. It's horrible to sweat in. In OW I can play pretty much whatever and still put up a fight.

Also if I wanted to play a TPS I'd just play Fortnite which actually has decent mobility and gunplay while rivals you're lucky if you get a long jump on a 10 second CD.

Yea lol I told you they should hire the seamless guy and let him make a coop soul, but a coop soul with actual loot, that's everything I wanted. I think Souls games were always missing the loot part.

I don't think we'll see another role based hero shooter dethrone OW. OW has had too much time to ameliorate the severe inherent flaws.

If someone wants to make a successful long lasting hero shooter, they'll have to make it like TF2 where there's no explicit roles/classes and bigger teams. Part of why Valorant didn't immediately fall over is exactly because there's not really a "tank" or "healer" role even though some characters have abilities suggesting that you don't get the situation with with Rivals where you have 6 dumber gayer versions of Sigma or Winston that nobody wants to play.

Yea and the weapons with other bloodgems slots, but there was really no reason to grind chalice. Which is sad because I loved them.

Probably because you feel like you're actually trying hard to win, while your teammates are bumbling around staring at walls. Something that helps a few times is to look at the replay and see what your team was doing at certain moments where it was supposed to be a win. Often times I see my dps shooting in the air and realize the game was lost from the start

Yea now classic works fine but in 2004? It was normal you couldn't play for days/week on launch because the server were bad, but you got that playtime back, that was old blizzard.

I'm under the assumption that the daily "For You" section would choose a random assortment of cosmetics from the pool of heroes you played the most recently with most being stuff you can normally buy but on occasion you'll roll a shop exclusive item but how come some "shop exclusive" skins like Lifewaever's Black Swan skin just sitting available for purchase in the Heroes tab every day?

It used to do that, but people bitched that things didn't rotate back around fast enough, so blizzard just enabled the purchase of some (not all) shop skins via the heroes tab. You can also buy the good majority of "exclusive" skins that were in the shop at some point but not available in the gallery, so long as you know their item code. There's a recent plebbit post with like 80+ shop skin codes.

It's fun but fucking busted and I don't think people are going to stick around long unless they make some big balance changes. People are starting to notice and complain about quite a few things about it, the balance, the lack of role queue, the fact it didnt' learn from overwatch and everyone wants to queue DPS, and the excessive cost of skins. But it still has a lot of players a week later, probably because it's both free and belongs to hugely recoginsable IP.
