Is there any way to get cast on freeze to trigger on every freeze? I've got it set up for cold snap with the more energy support right now and it still feels pretty bad. My frostbolts are doing like 0 damage, my dps all comes from frost bomb and walls.

As long as you aren't some absolute braindead "I'm going to pick nothing but defensive nodes and expect to do great damage" type of retard, you'll do fine. The start is a bit slow though because you don't have many skills.

It'll help when they put in the rest of the weapon skills in but yeah, it's not that bad really.

That's it. Loot is fine, balance is mostly fine and all the nerfs have been warranted. They are clearly giving themselves a wide berth for adding a fuck ton of other skill and support gems associated with the other weapons along with space to powercreep the hell out of the game during the next 52 leagues.

Almost done with Act 3, someone help me decide which direction to take my Merc crossbow build, I cant decide.

Bleed+poison+armorbreak build built around Frag Rounds with envenom and that poison armorbreak support. High-Vol to cash out on armor break but that may not be necessary. Maybe throw in a freezing ammo? Will probably build crit later too.

Shock build using galvanic for trash clearing and shockburst for single target. Very standard but I know it works because ive been ripping through all content with this without even speccing for lightning or shock yet.

Some kind of ignite fire build using explosive shot, oil grenades and rapid-fire. Dunno if that will scale well though.

I'm having serious problems with clearing packs starting at T6 maps
I've playing a grenadeless physical/armor break witchhunter, and while I find the build EXCELLENT at killing bosses and rares, I'm not sure if I should reroll because killing trash mobs just seems so slow

Maybe it's a DPS problem and I should just upgdare my crossbow, although a better one would cost me like 30-50 ex at this point, or maybe grenades are just mandatory for merc in which case I will reroll because that shit is so slow and clunky

Reaver minions with +5 minion skills (2 hat, 3 scepter) and 3 passive gems - 30% more damage, 35% more damage, 25% faster attack and bone offering will kill everything stupidly fast. In cruel act 1 I would kill wolf before his fog if he didn't get massive damage resistance while casting fog. He died during his first attack (there was one more before fog) after fog phase was over.

They don't die in seconds but even when they eventually do respawn time is 5 seconds but I agree, normal mobbing is slower and for this you can run few ravers for tanking and fill other slots with arsonists and storm mages for their aoe/chain attacks, chill mages with their skill is option as well.

The thing is, you can put attack speed support on a single shot skill like frag rounds etc, and its definitely faster. But how can attack speed be affecting the speed of 1 shot being fired? It must be doing reload speed as well.

Yep it's massive. It somehow out freezes spell echo Frost Nova with +50% freeze rate. Slap that support gem on the wall and it's absolutely nutty. Huge spike in power for freeze builds, going from basically impossible to ezpz. I think that means the earlier options should be better.

There is a speed associated with the shot animation itself. It's hard to notice on some of the shots but if you pick a really slow one like explosive shot you can definitely tell the difference, especially with the amount of notables on the tree that wanna reduce your attack speed for some fucking reason.

GGG was too incompetent to effectively railroad people into the playstyles they were encouraging so there's an adversarial relationship between them and the players.

they made a new game where they can (for now) temporarily force you to play the slogstyle that they want, but this will only last until there's a few leagues out and they overcomplexify their game too much to keep up with again, then we'll be back where we were in poe1.

Which "it". I'm using a full barrage of bone storm to trigger the crystal explosion if I wall off the enemies right, but if stuff is already dead underneath it you can also use detonate corpse with spell echo to wipe the wall, getting the giga explosion damage and the damage from the crystals.

If by "it" you mean cold snap I'm just convinced it's a meme or isn't working right. The damage is just pathetic unless you're using it on regular mobs... So what's the point at that rate.

Blood mage would be good if it did 2 things: Healed you more straight off the rip so it'd be worth taking the first 2 nodes, and if you got a buff to your next spell after collecting an orb. Would fit the "power from blood" fantasy and would give you some form of momentum build to compensate for the fact that you will be draining your own life when you cast big mana cost spells. Right now there's too many downsides.

My theory is that he's referring to Alva and that the Alva in PoE 2 is Past Alva and the Alva from PoE 1 is Future Alva. It also explains why she hasn't aged in 20 years. Basically Alva finds some way to consistently time travel in PoE 2 and meets us in PoE 1.

The expedition guys say they know you when in our continuity our player character has never met them before. I'm gonna guess that there is time fuckery going on and our player character ends up traveling back to the future, becoming the PoE1 character.
That way our character is technically also the guy that went to Atzoatl and slaughtered all the vaal there, even if we haven't technically done that yet.

PoE 2 follows a lot of Diablo 2 logic when building your character. Also the main source of damage comes from skill synergies this time around so do those combos. Luckily for you every single Skill Gem has this small video showing what it does. Because they're "bundling" them with characters that match the attribute type and "theme".

Gladiator (Formally Duelist) will release along side Swords, the "theme" of this class will be centered around Swords.
Both Gladiator and Swords are Str/Dex.

Templar will release along side Flails.
Both the Templar and Flails are Str/Int.

Marauder will be Axes, his alternative starting class counterpart the Warrior which is already ingame is Maces.
Both Classes and Axes/Maces are pure Str.

Just telling you that getting the highest base damage crossbow possible should always be your priority 1, and once you get a good one everything else will fall into place. I managed to craft a 60-160 dmg one in Act 3 and have basically been cruising since then.

Was scared about Ultimatum because you guys kept talking so much shit about it but Sanctum was way WAY more infuriating. There is no restrictions, If axes were currently in the game, all you could do is auto attack with them.

In the early betas all weapons dropped, but they disabled them dropping in later updates because it was just confusing new players as most of them didn't have any abilities in the game.

when you save doryani in act3, in the post game he mentions that the beast was destroyed by the new cataclysm

But that came at too great a cost so the only way to save "wraeclast" is to go back in time to stop Sin from ever making the beast in the first place
It's why the hooded guy no longer appears in the hideout/post-game and cannot be placed in your hideout.

I can't zoom out enough but I've also specced the lightning tree & rare mob damage tree directly to the south, the basic combo is barrage -> lightning rod -> magnetic salvo (you'll get this at rank 13 iirc). otherwise it's really slow going, good luck friendo

Both sanctum and ultimatum can only be done with dedicated builds in PoE1 so by this extention ToTA which also required a dedicated build that doesn't work in any other form of content

in act3 we bring doryani from the past into the future, then go find mcguffins to get a doomsday device and essentially nuke the shit out of the planet to get rid of the beast as a last resort

the process of getting a 6-link was stupid and having to do it every league at least once was definitely grating. I don't mind them doing away with it but I would have preferred they kept gem slots in armor and just made linking less terrible.

do the auras are still affected by the curse nods for area of effect in the passive tree?
can i socket in another slot a copy of the curse thats already converted into aura, and that copy give it some support gems, does the curse that the aura apply get the effects of the support gems?
