The annulment at Dairsmuid was a codex in Inquisition so I kind of like that quest.
Rowan is a dumb character though - even if her view of how the south treats the mages is clouded by the annulment of her circle I don't know how she thinks things are any better in the Qun.

I haven't touched Duelist but Veil Ranger was a lot of fun - a bit frustrating early on though when I had a hard time managing enemy aggression. Really stuck with a warrior on the team but I like Davrin a lot so it worked out for me.

his tragedy mostly. the idea of being (because of love) pulled into a world not made for you and becoming something you were not meant to be, and to then be vilified for the consequences of that. i feel sad for him and mostly i despise the writers for clearly having so much hatred in their hearts for him, i cant understand it at all. i am grateful that i can go back and replay inquisition and enjoy little moments with him in the hinterlands or any other beautiful zone, i unironically am bummed out i didnt appreciate him as much before though i always respected him, ive been a blackwall enjoyer first and a cole appreciator second. im sad nothing i did in any older game matters but i can still enjoy small tiny quiet moments out in them.

One thing about Veilguard I like was I could role play as city elf, worshipping the Maker and all, and nothing really contradicted that (for my run anyway I heard others got contradictions but dunno how they managed it). I think a modern elf is probably not immortal but could live for an extremely long time. The Fade is not quite like the old world but similar in how free the use of magic is and how potent it is so idk you can probably headcanon whatever you want. Also maybe time passes differently

They Veil was up when Solas, Ghil, and Elgar'nan were out of it. I don't see any reason why they actually have to be in the Fade for it to hold. I think Solas just has to be alive and healthy. He's in the regret prison to work on the blight and atone but I would think a Lavellan would help with those regrets so they're not spending an eternity in the prison.

I'm not sure. If the first elves made bodies with lyrium would that make them different physically and would that difference pass through their descendants? Kieran tells elf Inquisitors that they have old blood. If the answer is no then I assume an elf in the Fade would fare the same as any other mortal.

Both Fiona and Clarel are supposed to be desperate therefore making shady deals.
In Fiona's case there's time magic afoot so the magister kept rewinding until he got a favorable outcome. I forget if it's explicitly said or not though. Either way I usually just hear that Fiona sold the mages into slavery then go get the templars to deal with shit instead. Clarel does just come across as stupid though - even with the mega-Calling going on it wouldn't hurt to send some Wardens to investigate what's going on like the Warden contact does.

Fixed it for you. They still fumbled the bag with how they decided to end Solas' and the inquisitor's journey. Shafted him throughout the entire game because they're incapable of writing him as the main villian, shafted the inquisitor the entire game for god knows why. Likely because they can't handle the character? They seem to only write friendship junk. In the right hands your 'solavellan' could've been done justice.

Also, there's still plenty of future crpgs who could do what bioware tried to do except only better. Patience is a virtue for sure

That was honestly one of my biggest plot issues. Project Andromeda was a human created Cerberus backed escape plan from before ME1. There's no way they can make mass effect game without including other races. They're as much as part of the iconography of mass effect as anything else. They made Andromeda feel so small and boring which was an issue. I understand that for lore reasons, it's basically a tiny quarter but the Kett are said to have a large empire of different species but we just see ugly Angarans and wild animals. They got high on Inquisition praise and decided to make the hinterlands but for every planet.

I think Veil Jumper does incline you to being Dalish but I can't say for sure? My elf was a Grey Warden and never once mentioned being Dalish (she didn't have any vallasin either).

I've been thinking about inquisition and veilturd and the difference is truly insane considering that base DAI isn't that good.
It has so few main quests, they're all soulful but half of them are based on stupid premises like here lies the abyss. Wicked eyes is severely lacking in context and requires to read TME.
The game truly is carried by the vibes of building a huge andrastian organisation and how you make the inquisitor fit into it, the comfyness of haven and skyhold and its general capability of taking itself seriously.

i used to care about these choices but the characters stop mattering outside of their games, i doubted bioware would make anything big with these characters in futures games since crafting big outcomes in future games would involve too much dev time for way too specific choices, and then came veilguard where they just rebooted the entire setting, sucks but i was predicting something like this happening years ago

I actually think she looks pretty good here. Lighting and not scowling helps a lot. A tad older and cheeks fuller because she isn't constantly on the run line in W3.
