Ngl bros, I am starting to feel the vision. Picked up pic related with only 15% rarity and life, after which I started picking up exalted orbs from the ground. Slammed some orbs, and now I have this beauty. If you get a good amount of currency (and are lucky), orb slamming is actually very fun. You definitely have to get rarity increase though, I didn't know it's this mandatory before.

So if you click the "always attack without moving" button on Tempest Bell it won't even turn and attack toward your cursor. It just goes off in the direction you're facing.

Just in case any of you reflexively hit that button from poe1 experience and assumed it was a good thing. It will fuck you up.

IDK bros, I feel like the novelty is wearing off. The game is kinda boring. The skills just don't feel strong. It feels like I have to press 100 buttons to deal minuscule amounts of damage. I know my gear isn't the best but that is another issue. Drops don't feel good, im not really getting any stronger despite progressing through cruel. I regret going infernalist minions but I can't change my ascendancy to try a chaos blood mage. Maybe I just fucked up starting with minions.

Honestly, it sounds plausible given what we got. I'd actually say that 3 years of development time is too much, unless you're counting all the dev time put towards improving the engine. In terms of actual gameplay design and balancing, it feels like maybe a year to a year and a half.
Jonathan is absolutely a lying piece of shit, half the fucking things he was talking about during the hype and marketing phase are just flat out wrong or massively skewed so that he technically wasn't telling a lie but absolutely was not telling the full truth.

I did that to patch up the slots that were either empty or could use a better base. None of those were meaningful power or defensive spikes

Slam skill purpose is to stun enemies, after which you use abilities that do real damage against stunned or about-to-be stunned enemies. Best use for Earthquake is if theres 2 mobs coming at you from two directions, put Earthquare on left, Rolling Slam towards right, you stun them all for easy Boneshatter domino effect.

The fact that weapon upgrades are tied to acts is really really silly. You can just build yourself a new powerful weapon at the start of act 2 / 3 and you're good to go for the next 5 hours.

The endgame is awful

Having reached maps and done about 30 (T1 to T3) by now, the endgame seems really bad. At least they decided to not pull through with the decision of failed maps blocking certain paths - you can just retry them.

The things that are super unfun and need to be addressed ASAP.

Crafting: There is no crafting in the game currently. At least no deterministic crafting. I'd be fine with that if the crafting currency would drop at 5x the rate is currently does, but it doesn't. In endgame mapping I get enough currency to try and craft A SINGLE item in about 2-3 hours of raw farming. And it could turn out to be utter shit because it's FULLY RNG.
Losing maps on death: Bad decision. Mobs are too hard and you die way too fast. Losing them sucks and is not fun. Portals are already in the game. Let us use them.
Loot in general: Way too little. Not only currency orbs, but also raw items. Most maps don't even give a single rare item. What the hell?
Balancing: Some of the league mechanics seem extremely unbalanced, totally wrecking you. I've tried everything but Breach by now and especially Delirium was horrible, but it seemed like the mobs of every league mechanic did way more damage than regular mobs. Also certain mob types are extremely dangerous as well.
Gearing: Getting decent gear is brutally hard. Getting your resistances up is even harder, as there's no crafting bench and no deterministic crafting. The best thing you can do is check out vendors for items with sockets and buy them to salvage these for Artificer's Orbs, so you can put some extra res on your gear.
It's really not fun in a state like this. There may be people who enjoy this Ruthless nature of the game, but I assume it's a small percentage. If GGG wants to keep the current playerbase, they need to do drastic changes to all of the mentioned points soon or I'll bet the majority will quit once they reach maps (if they even do, because campaign can be a pain at times, too.)

I cant find a single build in this I like. I am not used to this genre. I like playing games with friends as tanks and healers and this game has none of that. iam starting to hit endgame, this game feels extremly short lived. iam already walking around with +6 staff with over 200% damage and 25% cast speed and i made 3 good ones in less than around 70ex buying bases and just slamming. the odds to hit a good mod are so high, especially with essence. the uniques are all worthless, even for poe1 they are mostly bad and because of how much power has been shifted into rare gear they are complety unusable. the white mobs being tanky takes one of the greatest satisfying feelings from poe1. and there just isnt much to do on the map, like the events are few and common. i want to like this game because it feels really accessible but i have played a lot of ruthless in poe1 and this is straight worse. i never played diablo games (unironically) but i think this is exactly what people mean with no endgame. there is no rush grinding 10 hours a day on a hyper optimized build on the best currency strat to affort mageblood and mirrors. i think i drop this game and wait for the next poe1 league.

dont reroll buy better gear or craft it. look on the market you probably find a weapon that triples your dps for 1ex. of course a problem if you have 0ex just the issue with this game. some farmed bosses on league start but it looks like they nerfed currency drops on act bosses because apparently they dont know how to fix all the bugs so they just start doing random bs nerfs.

What were you trying to do there anyway? Passive nodes are called "bridge" nodes for a reason. You only pick as much as you absolutely need to use your skill and weapons. Especially now when in PoE 2 Attributes barely give you any stats anymore.

No. Spells and Attacks are two different things. And usually Melee-taglined skills without "Attack" scale off from your weapon stats. Unless Monk has some weird damage conversion gimmicks going on, Spell damage and Melee skills are different.

Also it doesn't affect Totems either unless your Totem specifically states that it does.

I have 11 different Unique items. Every single one of them is absolute fucking garbage.

Also, I've been trying to play my warrior again which I ditched because he is dogshit. Spoiler : He's STILL dogshit. Totem build is complete fucking trash. Shockwave Totems do no damage what so ever. I've got mine to level 7, I've got gloves which add +1 to their level and a weapon which adds +3 to their level too. They're still trash.
My monk kills things in a fraction of the time. Every boss is a slog. It takes like 10 minutes to kill any boss. I think the totem build will eventually be 'okay' but I'd need Ancestral Warrior Totem which you need to be like level 52 for lol....

Also, another complaint, the Ancestral Spirit passive that Warbringer has is probably shit, since it counts as a minion and not a totem, you know, the thing I've been scaling into all build....

Fuck sake, what a dismal experience, no wonder I dropped this sack of shit the first time. Completely unredeemable with this build.
Guess the only thing that's viable if I want to play a warrior is some gay cookie cutter slam titan build. Y A W N.

Also the game is very combo-focused so pay attention what the skill gems are saying. If the skill gem says "It does extra damage if you do this"; then try to do the extra thing, thats where the real damage often comes from.

GGG completely blew their load early and fucked up. Full release won't get as many players as this just had.
All those "new players" they hoped to court just tried the game out, and think it sucks.
They didn't return to the game on day 3, they're not returning ever again. It's officially old news.

They played the act1, they killed main bosses and got glass bottles and quivers instead of unique amazing cool rewards. They felt the sluggish shit combat that is barely more functional than Silent Hill's melee combat.
To them this game is literally just a worse Diablo 4 as far as they're concerned and they're not half wrong about that.

GGG could've had Wukong/ER numbers 10+ mill if they waited for a full release with an actual good polished game. They just scammed all of us and we paid to be their QA department because they're a chinese company who doesn't want to spend money on wages or hiring people to do the actual job. A proper functional QA/testing department would've redflagged literally everyones issues with the game not 3 months ago, not 6 months ago, about years ago.

Congrats, they scammed about 2mill people for $30USD and made alot of money. They could've made alot more money if they made a truly good game and just fucking released it when it was done and stopped bloatcreepmaxxing the development. Focusing on Endgame content was 200% the WRONG decision, they should've instead spent that dev time making sure all the classes were there. I'm sure most people would be fine to play Act 1 > 3 with EVERY BUILD and every piece of gear available.

Was it necessary to make PoE2's endgame just reskins of PoE leagues? 99% of the players who have quit and will never return never even finished Act1. I would say that's a worse retention than the original game, even PoE1 I imagine most people can kill at least Merveil.

Back when PoE1 had just three acts, the act 3 zones were fuckhuge. When they added more, they streamlined them a bit and scaled the zones down. They'll most likely do that when they add acts 4, 5 and 6.

the specifics are a bit convoluted but basically %phys on a weapon is much better than % phys anywhere else, whereas %ele on a weapon is identical to % ele anywhere else

in poe1 if you converted dmg from phys to ele that portion would benefit from both phys and ele scaling modifiers. so often you'd use a pure phys weapon but then convert all to ele and you'd still be able to scale of phys modifiers.
but in poe2 if you've converted to ele you only benefit from sources scaling ele.

The 33% increase is already calculated on the weapon. Physical is easier to scale due to that % increase mod since it doesn't exist for elemental damage. That flat you have there is pretty much what you can get, that and % elemental damage with attacks skills which has lower value because it doesn't get calculated on the weapon. Also lightning is an outlier because of its huge range, take the median for it.
I assume you are talking about weapon damage purely, on the tree yes you should click elemental nodes if you can.
You're not retarded most people don't bother to do the calculations that you did, it's just quirks of the game.

My totem warbringer is starting to finally feel good in Act 3 and after the horrible fucking slog that was act 2, about damn time. Only thing I hate is that it seems you really need to focus on armor break as much as humanly possible because the other warbringer ascendancy nodes are fucking dogshit. PoE2's numbers are just goys who got tricked. If anything, PoE2 just poisoned it's potential max playercount.
It will never top the EA numbers unless they really put in alot of work remarketing the game and showing off actual good melee combat this time.

If I was them I would course correct massively and focus on duelist and making him the star of the show and try one last time to trick all the souls fantatic with some berserk looking greatsword gameplay.
I think they also need to redo act1 or change it or something so it feels new again for full release. Maybe add a Prologue section of the game and instead make the riverbank section no longer a tutorial but a main boss encounter and a intentionally tough and varied zone.
Maybe we can play as a unique section for each character and it shows how we got captured by Geonor in the first place?

Not really completely useless but after each League, characters are thrown into Standard which no one plays. But yes, you HAVE to complete the entire campaign again each league.

No. You play the SIX acts again and again, remember this is EA, and the new content is typically some map mechanic that only really takes into effect once you reach post campaign mapping. So yes, now you see the issue of taking days to reach maps.

Identify mechanic made sense in D1 because of the slow pace and limited inventory space and fewer more meaningful items and it was apart of the aspect of being excited as fuck to return to town to see your ole mate Cain to find out what cool shit you got.

But now, it's archaic garbage that doesn't work in the context. Identify scrolls would only make sense if you instead identified an item one mod at a time. Say you find a rare, you hit identity.

It gives you one mod, and still says unidentified. That means, you can get more mods. Maybe this one goes up to 6, maybe not.

This way, full respect via hooded mentory would be "cheap" but also potentially bad because it full reveals immediately and maybe this is less preferrable in general for good mods.

At the current juncture i don't see it being fun long term. You need to offer a reason to keep showing up. In PoE1 you have a bunch of wacked out build archetypes and establishing yourself isn't hard. In PoE2 the meta is more restrictive, there's less build enabling uniques and levelling is a bigger pain. I don't see people spending 30 hours running through the campaign so they can try sunder to find out its shit
