The only thing that really worries me about PoE2 is the skill tree, it really doesn't feel like PoE

It's just way too big, making the class you choose very build defining. If you want to do something creative, and not just what your class is "made to be" – you're gonna spend 70% of your skill points on traveling.

Previously this was just an issue with polar opposites like Marauder and Witch, but even then it could be done. Now it's just impossible.

Most passives are just boring and give very few "build defining" nodes. There's so many cases where the major node is just a minor node with bigger numbers.

Things that go together, are really spread out. So you can't really specialize on one thing if you want to. If you want to pick up a lot of fire damage nodes you're fully locked into a set path, because you're gonna spend all your points traveling around to them. This gives the illusion of choice, while in reality, most builds are gonna end up exactly the same.

All these things really hurt creativity and build diversity. With so much focus on combos and skill interaction, it seems like the skill tree interactions has been left out.

I hope the gems and ascendecies we're missing will somehow balance things out, but it still won't feel as good as having a good old GGG-style passive tree.

Trade for now because they disabled SSF ability to migrate to Trade because its bugged somehow. Otherwise SSF for campaign because you don't have any currency to trade with anyway.

I can't get past the bird boss in the chimera trial. It trishots me and I'm level 45 and the zone is level 38. My frostwalls do nothing and there's a ton of traps and other deadly stuff everywhere.

Now that SRS got nerfed GGG wouldn't nerf them again would they?
I've been using flame wall to summon SRS which I've slotted burning legion and minion instability on, so they burn up and explode dealing ok damage
They also count as minion deaths for the "cast on minion death" support since they die from minion instability explosion
Sadly I can't make infinite SRS anymore since the cast-on nerfs.

The best way is to complete the entire campaign SSF(self limit) and then when you start mapping and doing endgame consider trading.

Personally I like selling my stuff and gambling with the currency I get. Never really bought a good item

One of the biggest problems with poe 2 is there's zero build variety between classes. It doesn't open up until level 65+. They've turned it into a mmorpg on that regard. For example, if I want to start a warrior again next "league", my only option is literally starting with rolling slam slop. Even if axes or swords are added, there's still only going to be one skill / combo set to start with. It's very on rails. There's just no variety. The weapons shouldn't be locked down like this and it shouldn't take so long to unlock everything. We need like 5 more viable skills per weapon at low level to even begin to solve this.

Leech is dead man. I got % leech on my gear and then specced into a ton of leech nodes and it tickled my life pool. I refunded all those nodes so fast. I think you have to have like 10m damage hits and all the nodes to start to feel leech.

Minecraft Dungeons gear and skill system is a bit weird but it highly encourages trying all manners of different weapon and passive skills almost every map while playing the story. There's nothing to build around, the tree is just %damage. Even the HC players have given up trying to make actually tanky builds and are just running around with glass cannons because it's all you can do on anything that isn't warrior.

Really? Crossbow skills aside from grenades (which is really only one build of gas grandes+oil+flash+detonator of your choice) feel like they're not quite finished. Related I'm trying to figure out the endgame for chrono. Currently have 33% cooldown ignore and temporal rift, not sure what else I want to grab. Spamming 3 ice wall charges and 2 frost bomb charges with cast on freeze comet is pretty insane, so I think I will go for the slow aura and the full cooldown reset, but I can't help but feel I would just be better off as storm sorc

In poe 1 you have every skill unlocked by like level 28 which isn't even an hour probably. In poe 2 it's like 54+ and that's many hours since 54 takes so much longer in poe 2 than 1.

Titan is stronger so far. More like a stat stick and more raw damage. But no one has really discovered warbringer tech yet and we don't know how important shields will be at the absolute top end content. The block nodes might be gg if it's needed. I've been experimenting with some armor breaking stuff. Nothing great so far.

Is anyone even going for what they had in mind? I had two main paths in mind, but then I found something that is just objectively better and now I need to invest in it. I think the problem right now is mana (not sure what the non-mage's equivalent is). I never run out no matter what, and that makes certain abilities OP and others simply something fun to do, but doesn't actually do damage when compared to another ability that thrives when it can be cast an infinite amount of times since mana is not an issue.

It's definitely super strong earlier, doubly so with SRS (it's a spirit gem skill) + flame wall (each cast summons 5 skulls at a time so two casts gets you all 10), I feel like that SRS + flamewall will get nerfed though but for now it's really good

I don't know how far in you are but my personal experience with witch was that by the end of act 1 my purely dps spec'd minions were all dying constantly such that it feels like the expectation is that you spec minion health right after filling in the first minion dps line

It would be easy to fork and fix; PoE Trade just sends its copied items to poe-prices.info, so if poe-prices.info has been updated to work with pathofexile.com/trade2/ then all you need to do is add in the poe2 league names ASSUMING the program doesn't automatically do that via poe2 league API

PoE 1 was made by a handful of guys with no experience and no hindight at their disposal and it was an actually interesting game in beta.

Anyone here had luck with cold spells from the elemental section? I can't seem to make the damn things work well. The most obvious combo is Frostbolt, casting Frost Nova on slow moving projectiles for tons of freeze buildup, the detonating frozen targets with Cold Snap.

I've put extra freeze buildup on Nova, slow projectiles on the bolts, and threw a bunch of damage on cold snap and it just doesn't seem to work. I don't build up freeze quick enough, even if I hit a group with 3-4 on a single pass of frost bolt. The little dudes freeze but it seems like the mobs I actually want to keep off me are either too resistant or too fast for it to matter. Furthermore, the cold snap damage seems bretty bad. It'll chunk SOME rare monsters but not all of them and again with the freeze buildup already being an issue it's kinda not worth it. I have also augmented this setup with Frost bomb underneath where I think the groups will run into my minions, but this whole setup feels so conditional and falls apart the second the crowd closes the gap and I can't set anything up anymore. And forget about trying to freeze/cold snap bosses. Their resist is just stupid high and the damage is pathetic.

The cope I've been rolling with now is trying to path into nodes that give extra damage against targets with elemental ailments so that I can do more damage vs chilled enemies, as I can definitely chill an entire group quickly. It's kinda working but I feel like this isn't really a build.

Am I just a brainlet? Level 35ish btw struggling on Act 2 boss.

I'm about to spec out of ED/contagion, before I literally fall asleep while taking an hour to clear one zone. I'm not in any way invested into it, with either gear or the tree, and firewall + srs does like 2x the dps.

I don't think I have access to any conditionals yet. I know the cold snap can work on frost bolts but when I was trying it, the timing was all fucked and the damage radius was tiny so I didn't really see results. Maybe I need to try it again. Does boosting the AoE with a support gem help it out? I'll be honest I abandoned cold snap a while ago and have been rolling bone barrage or whatever for damage.

Even king slurper Alkaizer is starting to crack. Every day he gets more and more angry at random dogshit, you can see his face twist in disgust every time he opens the passive tree and is forced to pretend like he's making a tough decision between picking 2% damage or the other differently worded 2% damage. You can feel the disappointment when he talks about how his gear sucks but he's still one-tapping every mob pack in the game and nuking map bosses in seconds.
I give it a week or two at most before he's logged back into PoE 1 to play ruthless again because it has actual progression and difficulty.

it chunks big bosses because every projectile can hit the enemy
also it applies a critical weakness debuff on the enemy that increases their chance to be critted by 0.5% per stack up to 20 stacks aka 10%, it's a massive boost to the comet damage if you invest in some crit.
i've unsocketed frost bolts once i got eye of winter and never looked back, it's numbers suck on paper but it's good in the actual game (except for tiny enemies that get really close to you, it doesn't do shit to them)

That shit happens in the last zone of every act and it's really annoying. It's insane that you can find weapons in act 2 that will last you basically to maps but if you aren't replacing all your other gear constantly you will massively fall behind on defenses and start eating shit when you hit these spikes at the end of the act.

Some of these bosses are really annoying with oneshot mechanics.
Same here with previous boss I had issues with having animation that's difficult to read.
Trick with her felt like it was best to dodge into her, to make her run around more, but the pixel of oneshot can move around faster than your reactionspeed.

Killed her but didn't feel good.

What was the percentage of the loot drop buff? 500%?
Imagine how shit it was that it too 500% for a bosses now dropping magic items at least and sometimes one rare one.
Ebin balancing.
Still waiting for skill gem BUFFs and normal mobs tuning.
Its also funny how my monk clears the map 4-5 times faster than my Witch.
Its even more funny how the power of the character depends on the weapon quality alone. I can tell how overtuned content is by just replacing my rare quarterstaff with magic one. I immediately feel myself getting fucked by the normal mobs.
It shouldnt fucking happen like that.
Also Passive Tree feels meaningless at the early stage of the game for how overtuned content is.

What do you guys think about the new passive tree? I tried to plan where I go with my build and it feels so underwhelming, like you get a little crit, a little proj damage, a little attack damage, a little lightning damage, some pen, +1 grenade, modes boost to armour and evasion and.... It really depends on the chosen skill.
I first tried it with my Bone Cage Witch, just running around the boss and spamming it.
Adds simply got stopped without touching me and died.
Really fucking easy.
But i can see other builds stuggling significantly.

The beetles especially were the bane of my existnce. There was a room which spawns like 40 of them all at once in all directions around you. It's literally impossible to get away so if you can't tank the damage until you clear a path you will die with 100% certainty.

I actually legit like this new watered down tree, you can freestyle it with little to no planning and have like 95% of the stuff though out and optimized tree has. Unlike poe 1 when you take a wrong turn and suddenly you are like 50% life and 200% damage behind.

It should be way easier to complete it for the ascendancy but the mechanic has to remain for the endgame djinn coins.
The only thing I’ve had fun with is sanctum so far. The mapping is experience is so ridiculously bad right now

They had no idea. It's not like they planned this. They're basically brute forcing builds through the playerbase to figure out what they need to change because they have no idea where the numbers are supposed to be otherwise. They're going to prioritize nerfing egregious shit at first so that people don't abuse it and break the game, but they're probably making a list of what they need to buff as well.

Oh yeah how fun it is to reload 3 different bolts that all do fuckall damage and don't reload properly half of the time
It's just way too janky and bolts should auto-reload after a few seconds if clip isn't full
It's too tedious for too little payoff

I'm a warbringer using wind blast to prine stun then dual 2 hand mace to boneshatter, only level 39 though so got a lot of upgrades left. Fantastic clear, dogshit single target so using tempest flurry and bell for st.

I want to do crossbow monk next, stack skill speed on shotguns skills... maybe quarterstaff with the freeze then frag rounds.

Any other wacky combos you guys thinking of?
