I really hope they start communicating on what their vision of balance is and hopefully start giving out those full respecs. Because a lot of players are going to be affected by a lot of these rather sudden changes to what is considered powerful, honestly for a test period like this they should lower the gold cost of respecs.

As well as starting to nudge up the lower end of a lot of skills, and ascendencies.

Demon form being equivalent to a decent level 50 staff at level 50 isn't exactly exciting when it disables weapons and comed with a rather powerful life degen.

A lot of that is harder to implement than tweaking a few numbers. Especially when people aren't in the office, they've been doing crash fixes but if you want sweeping balance changes you're going to have to wait. Some stuff does take work

Every class seems to break the game and is 1-2 shotting bosses. There's more power here relative to the top end content than there is on poe 1. And it's easier to get since it's all on the tree and a basic magic weapon. People just don't realize it yet.

I unironically hope they make the game harder. The mystique of slow progression is great. Bosses feel dangerous. I want to immerse myself more into the world and lore when I dont just walk over everything that breathes like in other arpg's. Its great, and the salty tears of the brainrotted only makes it better. I think I love this game so far, exactly what I needed and what the industry needs more of.

My 2 cents after 6 ssf acts with the Jonathan-approved pathfinder build
Major issues
>exalts stopped dropping after saturday afternoon
>not a lot of skills
>ultimatum
Minor issues
>weapon rolls seem bugged? No way we are supposed to have a +3/4 weapon in act 2
>is poison actually shit? Might be knowledge issue on my part. Dont know how I feel about just scaling damage
Every other complaint i see here are unironically expectations/skill issues from poe1 trademazies
>expect to get showered in drops and rares in act 1
>unable to adapt to visioncrafting
>unable to accept grinding 30 minutes to overlevel the boss if they get their shit kicked in
>unable to fix their support gems if overleveling did not work
>"le maps are too big" is retarded, the game feels as small as poe1 in cruel since you know the zones

So far I really like the game, the moment to moment combat is quite fun once you get the hang of toxic growth and stop killing yourself with it.
If omens are good and if they fix exalts to actually be like jonathan said in the interviews the game is a great base for future updates, definitely fixes a lot of the issues i had with poe1

I find myself playing POE2 for over 14h and just want more

I get I'm not even in the endgame, but the campaign is slow, there are basically no drops, crafting is basically slam and pray. The areas are basically gigantic labyrinths winding all over the place. i get it, it is EA and we aren't even 72 hours into its release, but god damn I'm surprised by how fun I am having.

What is the best, easiest, most brain dead "let me watch anime and youtube on a 2nd monitor" league starter build?

I've tried every class now till about level 10 and some of these fuckers STRUGGLE HARD with bossing. Like if a boss can just 1 shot me but I'm a melee it expects me to learn the noises and animations to DODGE or RUN AWAY from the attack.

I don't want to do that. I just wanna hold a button down till the boss is dead while I eat snacks and watch anime. What league starter lets me do this?

The number of weapon skill points is how many points you can assign to different setups, but you still need passive points to do it.

You click to assign a point to weapon set 1, then put a point, then you can assign the same point ina different passive to weapon set 2, and it will switch between the different setups when you switch weapon

The number shown is the maximum amount of points you can do this with.

These points would have to be dead ends, you couldn't put "normal" passive points after them

Act 3 overall feels really good, not counting albino monkey instakills and forge boss. My gear is all socketed rares and I'm destroying mobs comfortably again. Act 2 really suffers from lack of drops and spotty monster density, it needs some more love.

People bitch about River Witches but after the first death I grew to appreciate them. They're super slow and easy to kill, the reason why they're dangerous is because theres a mob of zombies blocking your way. Suddenly zombies are dangerous again just because theres a blue Ringu woman behind them trying to drown you to death.

The bosses are retardedly simple and utilise the most basic of mechanics (get out of the way and dodge) and yet people are constantly complaining in global chat and in these threads. I genuinely don't get it. It is the most simple gameplay. I can understandaybe dying once or twice getting caught out by a previously unseen move, but fucking hell. The wolf boss is fucking easy too. Literally just roll occasionally? His lunges give time to react and everything outside of that is easily avoidable and exploitable.

your levelling slows down while the quantity of dropped skill gems goes up and you just have no use for them
same thing with runes, the drop rate of runes eclipses the rate at which you replace items
if you map for 100 hours you will end up with tabs of runes and gems

A lot of people also seem to think that because there's no life on the tree they can just full send DPS on the tree and turn into paper.

It's alright, it sucks that your character progression is essentially 99% determined by how lucky you get with loot drops
I used the same wand from level 12 to level 67 when the game finally decided to drop something better for me, and this is with me constantly checking vendors and trying to ""craft"" on every white base wand I found.
The skill tree also seems really bad, there's so many unneeded travel nodes, and I feel like there's way more noteables that are non-stat neverpicks like stun threshold, and the fact that you can't get any real life or life regen and you're forced into slurping flasks feels like shit

The loot could be fixed by just turning up currency drops a bit, crafting would improve if essences would spawn more often throughout the campaign, and being able to use them on magic items to add the missing affix would also help a ton, as it is now you're just slamming transmute > is the affix good > augment > is the new affix good > regal
And if either of the magic affixes are bad you trash the item and start over
The tree needs a complete rework IMO, ideally adding in some life nodes, currently there's a total of 20 max health and 6% increased max health on the entire thing so again you're completely at the mercy of the random items that drop having good defences on them

Just started, didn't really get into PoE1 it was kinda dogshit but I'm loving this :) Died a couple of times to a bigboy then I rethought and retried and I was able to win :) Maybe you just suck if you can't do it :(

The number of weapon skill points is how many points you can assign to different setups, but you still need passive points to do it. You click to assign a point to weapon set 1, then put a point, then you can assign the same point ina different passive to weapon set 2, and it will switch between the different setups when you switch weapon. The number shown is the maximum amount of points you can do this with. These points would have to be dead ends, you couldn't put "normal" passive points after them

why not? I think that will work pretty well. Hand of Chayula for ST, any one curse with impending doom for aoe. Mana lech as a support gem for basic quarterstaff attacks, spell blade node, MoM. I don't see reasons why it wouldn't work. It could not be as effective as an invoker, but playable. Acolyte is not meta op busted but it's not broken shit like blood mage either.

It really does, the fact you have to waste 2 points getting FUCKING stun threshold to get to the 3% (THREE !!!) percent maximum life is actually a little insulting
I managed to get my witch to 2.3k life by just stacking strength and sprinting for Beef and the str-stacker damage node
It's not great, but I basically can't die anymore with my flask-regen, orbs, massive armour and block values plus resistances, so I can just slowly attrition stuff down
Iron will (and strength not giving damage in general) not being in the game except on that unique which also makes strength not give any life is very limiting and boring

And you just know theres two factions in the ggg office, the ruthless crowd and the blasters, and the ruthless crowd got too uppity because of the PoE2 hype and are now getting assblasted because the player numbers dont matter if no one plays beyond the 3rd act

It's pretty bad, the spell life leech is a giant bait and you will be leeching absolutely nothing by act1 cruel
The progenesis effect is pretty good and you NEED a power siphon wand, as it has a good base crit and really fast cast speed, so if you ever need to regen in a boss fight you can just start spamming that to generate blood orbs
I'd also recommend blood magic since then you don't have to worry about mana anymore
In general you need tons of recovery for it to be even remotely decent and not just a giant detriment to be playing blood witch, and since GGG seems to only give a shit about nerfing everything I don't expect it to get too much better, so just play sorceress instead

IMO, the main difference in difficulty between this and PoE1 is that there are tons of great build guides for PoE1. Anyone coming from PoE1 who's having trouble with PoE2 definitely relied heavily on build guides without having an understanding of what every decision in their build was. They only know how to blindly follow guide, and they're totally cooked without one.

You can augment the dodge roll into a Blink or Dash currently in the EA, with prob more options coming.
If you're using flying MTX, or an ability which makes you float, you don't roll, you do a swoop instead.

So,
1. There are ways to augments is gameplay functionality of roll for your preference.

But I do, i cast vulnerability and have a pain offering, and bone storm still outclasses the shit out of the minions despite the fact i put no points in physical damage at all.

It seems like the offering minion is destructible BTW, one thing hits it and it's gone.

I unironically want to get off the Mr. Bones wild ride, because any boss wipes the minions with one attack and then i'm naked.

After many hours of misery I've dropped my witch. The initial idea was to be tanky Blood Mage with 2hander, but then I found Bone Cage with double cast and crit fun and stronger than the rest occultist and elemental skills to not feel myself like a total gimp. Minions utterly disappointed me so Ive stopped actively using them. SRS was stronger than the rest skills barring my Cage but I quickly felt it was both boring and not really as OP without going full minion passives with them.
Long story short I faced Trial of Sekhmet or whatever and while I myself steadily killed the boss without even using life flask I realized how fucking slow and unfun this whole thing is.
I went on killing some more trash and it felt miserable as well.
Gambling was fruitless. So, bosses are tedious to do, trash as well, there is no loot, gambling is an ass, I don't feel the sense of progress for hours and days even. What is the point.
Then I found out Blood Mage is pretty much bricked ascendancy and I came to conclusion there is pretty much no reason to play the Witch unless you are SRS infernalist enjoyer.
I rerolled.

Frostbolt and Ice Nova both deal pathetic damage. Not even exaggerating 1/10th the damage of Eye of Winter and 1/20th Comet damage. Never use them except in super earlygame you can use nova to keep mobs off you.

I'd be fine if the charge infusion was the baseline, so having 1 powercharge would give you the same amount of crit as 6, and you then also could spend them to empower your skills like the only point of them right now
As it stands it feels like charges are useless outside of extremely specific niches, generating them is a pain in the ass and takes a ton of spirit for inconsistent performance

Because the nodes associated with INT weapons and general sorcerer shit are in the northern quadrant. You can go south, but you'll have to take the small passives and travel nodes around the center of the tree.

Like poe1, they've made specific design choices that hamper real build exploration. Chaos dot has really spread out nodes for damage and I don't think any dot multi. Something like cold or lighting damage probably has more than triple the scaling. Devs are fucking retards
