>spend 15 minutes fighting white mobs and walking to the first boss encounter
>default attack is my highest DPS skill but if i spend 3 seconds in an attack animation I get to combo for a massive 5% DPS increase
>20 minutes of rolling and default attacking later I almost have the boss to half health
>already salivating about the 3 magic items I might drop
>if im lucky I might even find a rare!
>it wont be for my build but I can disenchant it for 1/5th of a usable currency item
>pausing every 5 seconds so I can react to the telegraphed 15 second long boss attacks in between my damage windows
>30 more minutes go by boss has 10% HP left
>chad has already gone for round 3 with my wife in the other room but I dont care
>it will all be worth it for the fun and engaging gameplay
>bring the boss down to 5% hp
>server crashes and I have to restart all over
>atleast its not diablo

Do NOT play Crossbows without Grenades, it's straight up dogshit and I did less dmg than I did on my Warrior with literally just auto attack while actually trying to execute the combos where you switch between synergistic ammo.

The hardest part of the game is just act 1. Everything after that is not that bad unless you're playing a shit build. So probably the act one boss. But he's not a big deal if you have a regenerating pot and some cold resist/hp. The game is a borefest slog tho with no rewards so who cares.

Mektul for being a time limit DPS check with more health and resistances than Act bosses. Its not a coincidence that Act 1 bosses are the most balanced ones because that Act has been tested to death in Alpha. Meanwhile most people haven't played Act 3 so most of the broken shit is still there.

Nah act 3 is easily the hardest part, it's obvious they rushed it because the boss difficulty is all over the place, some of the bosses die in 1 minute while others are so overtuned you come back 10 levels later and they still steamroll you.
Not to mention the fact there's a literal DPS check boss that is clearly out of tune compared to how strong the average player will be at that point.

you just have to have 1 cold staff and 1 fire staff, set up your skill to automatically change between them, and then setup your skill tree to swap a few points when you swap weapons.

when you get cast on freeze you can also slot arc + another flame wall or two arc gems and you'll go faster.

I went from 80 fps on DLSS Quality to rock solid 158 fps cap (I'm using gsync+vsync with 165hz monitor) with no upscaling memeshit. Same graphics settings.

I went from my mobo's version 1 bios from 2022 to its version 11 bios from September 2024 lol

I just tested Cyberpunk 2077 and I gained about +90 fps with the same settings as well. What the fuck did the BIOS update do

If you think that's bad you should try high velocity rounds and an armor break archetype. You can literally do more damage slapping armor break onto your basic attack with brutality and martial tempo than you will do with a high velocity round using hourglass and execute. The damage numbers on almost everything are completely fucking wack, especially when you look at what other weapon classes can do. I could probably quadruple my clear speed by swapping to bow, and that's comparing to galvanic bolts or whatever the fuck it's called with the chain lightning and a bunch of gems to boost damage.

good lightning skills unlock late, lightning monk is pretty strong, you will be merging into using everything at once anyway. early game your best bet is to use whatever you can to get mobs low ho, killing palm for charge and whatever that lightning skill is called that benefits from it, with 50% chance to get double charge and 30% chance to not waste charge support skills.

im playing attack lightning monk and i cant tell if its op or shit
with all conditionals in place i instakill bosses and rares in low tier maps but sometimes i end up in the middle of a few white mobs and i just die because i need a few seconds to set up before i do real damage
its a lot of fun though

my only real problem with the character is that you have to constantly cast a buff with a 0.75 sec cast time, its so much dead time on a playstyle that already needs ramping

its like
generate power charge (either apply shock + consume shock or dodge and have the illusion thing die) -> cast buff -> attack 3-4 times to get combo -> put down the bell
and THEN you start doing damage
you can pre-ramp the buff though and then its not as bad

The crazy part is that other than the single-digit number of 'WTF are you thinking?' number balancing, the rest of the game isn't particularly hard. A1 is slow, but once you get a decent build cooking most of the bosses are total pushovers (albeit sometimes bullet sponges)
Anyway, another rip at level 39 in HC. Not sure I'm going to try again until there's a wave of balancing, unless it's to exploit the gas cloud shit.

Calming down from my day 1 melty i think the game and difficulty is ok (till i get shitchecked at the next boss atleast). The only real problem i have is there is vision of some endgame i'm working towards. In PoE1 you have some goal and when you achieve it you get a big powerspike. I dont feel that in PoE2, legit feels like i'll just be doing the same shit till the end of time. Atleast when i had .9 attacks per second in PoE1 i cleared 2 screens. Now its .4 attacks per second and i clear a pack

They should change how garbage loot is used by the player, so you only feel the need to bring rares to town.
>Blacksmith no longer buys regular or magic things from the player, instead more gold drops.
>only rare or higher items can be disenchanted/salvaged but it gives more materials
for example, disenchanting a rare gets what it gets now + 4-6 of what a blue gives.
This way I dont feel the need to pick up every blue to sell or disenchant. If i see a blue of an item i want to craft on i might check it, but picking up every blue is mildly annoying.

In diablo 2 if you wanted gold you really only needed to take to town Chest armor, caster weapons, jewelry, and gems/runes. Other than that you could ignore anything that was below a rare, and by endgame you would even ignore rares at times. People complain about having to go to town to sell loot in diablo 2 as well but when you know the above it made it much more chill to handle low tier loot.

Cyberpunk 2077 was a disaster at release but is now considered one of the best games ever made, Path of Exile 2 is ALREADY amazing but just needs some touching up. Patience children.

there were 3 closed tests prior to release, the game was largely in the same state and the core shit being complained about is not patchable content. the game needs a comprehensive restructuring from the ground up, and also the devs aggressively ignored mountains of feedback telling them that exactly this reaction would occur if they released the game in its current state.

is anyone else mapping yet? how do you feel about it?

i think the maps themselves really fucking suck.
if you havent gotten to maps yet, imagine underground sea but around twice as large. and then imagine that you have to slowly walk across this gigantic map with a nonlinear layout with lots of dead ends until you have found and killed every rare mob. theres no indicator until theres less than 50 monsters remaining, so you really have to just fullclear every map.
i dont even mind the maps taking a long time to complete but its just not really enjoyable to aimlessly walk around the map. i very strongly think it should be either a completely different completion criteria or there should be a way to know where you have to go. either a straight up indicator on the minimap or the monsters coming to you or the zones looking more like mesa than fucking maze.
theres like.. 10 maps in total in this game? maybe theres more variety when you get further away from the start but right now im doing the same few maps over and over. the maps themselves are also pretty unbalanced, at least for my character. some have extremely strong mobs that are threatening even as white mobs and other maps have what basically amounts to target dummies.

theres also a general feeling of being a little lost and unsure how to progress and what to farm towards but it was the same when i was new to poe1 so i think thats just a symptom of being unfamiliar with the game. logically i do have a good plan on what im trying to do, its just not very internalized i guess.

t. did like 30 maps (8/10 t2 quest progress cause i ran out of waystones)

what is he doing wrong? his character does no damage, the game drops no loot to do more damage. the enemies run twice as fast as him, he can't run away or avoid them, he can't build into regen or defense and he already can't kill white mobs. this looks like a completely gay and unfair way to die
