I am enjoying the game a lot. Only thing they should tweak is boss HP a bit earlier on and taper it to where it is now. Earlier on you have so few abilities that it feels kind of weird to fight these bosses doing all these insane anime things. I also feel that all quest drops should be "well rolled". Other than that, the game is good HOWEVER, I will say that people who are prone to getting filtered will probably not like it. I didn't kill the act 2 boss until I actually got good and locked in. I think the majority of people who play these kinds of games do not get good and definitely DO NOT LOCK IN.

You can stack up (probably infinite) life and mana regen using life remnants. I have 60 spirit. Vitality and clarity don't work in life remnants for some reason despite me having 30 free. I was testing around and found out.

This is what I did:
30/60 spirit reserved
Raging spirits active.
Socket vitality and or clarity in life remnants.
Then:
1. Turn spirits on and off.
2. Pick up vitality and or clarity and drop it right back.
3. Repeat

I got up to a couple hundred. It resets when going to town and maybe when changing zone.

Here's a free tip: the quality on staves actually applies to the skill it provides, even though the UI still tells you the gem is 0% quality. Just tested it and the quality effect is applied regardless.

I'm liking the game so far, the slower combat makes me appreciate the skills way more, (using cold Sorc), wasd movement is absolute kino, act bosses feel fleshed out I feel like I actually have to engage with the game instead of just pressing one button for the debuff totem/brand and another for damage and the boss dying in 0.3 seconds, even the rare monsters feel like a treat, big maps are cool and finding caches feels rewarding (but only sometimes, shit gives 50 gold 60% of the time) I would like to be able to tp between checkpoints to make backtracking less of a chore, Jonathan put a Ranni MTX on the store you haired fucking retard, thanks :).
You can't reply to my post if you haven't 40/40'd at least one league.

I'm thinking of swapping to it. You need good regen to counter the life loss but the damage is definitely there. Needs some testing with various skills to see what is best for the buffs it provides. You can't run it with anything that requires a weapon is the only downside. Ggg said they were buffing that but right now it kills your weapon.

It took me a few tries to get into PoE. The first time the game managed to hook me in enough to get through the campaign (more like getting past a2 lol) was during Ultimatum, because Ultimatum shat out loot during leveling. Before that I tried to get into it during Delirium, Harvest and Heist, you can imagine why I wasn't hooked.
PoE 2... is slow, the maps are huge, balance is terrible, there is no loot, The game is very pretty yes, but that's really not enough.

One of the BIGGEST hurdles for a newfag (Besides realizing that they needed a starter guide to be even able to reach the endgame without bricking their character) was reaching high level and realizing that they have no Idea which one of the meriad of end-game activities they should do. This was the perfect opportunity to streamline the fuck out of this game, And what do they do? basically do the same over-saturated PoE endgame minus heist, delve and Blight.
Why? Why not get rid of pretty much all that shit? I know people in the last thread said a bunch of this is good, and I'm not saying any of these are terrible mechanics by themselves you fucking retards, I'm saying: STREAMLINE IT. You're starting over! Have a couple endgame options, This is too much. You're going straight back to: "The average player will need a guide to know which endgame activity to do"

Valley of the Titans is so cancerous. Does this fucking medallion even exist? I have the entire map uncovered but it is nowhere to be found. The shitty hitboxes on the giant enemies makes you get surrounded and unable to move to easily, its awful.

This is what I have right now. The bombs explode super quick and I can just mash them out into pack. Big things get Flammability for the res debuff and it works out pretty well. Everything else on my hotbar is just fluff right now.

And of course going for fire damage in the passives tree.
Shame none of the ascendancy nodes do anything for Fire except the crit stormweaver.

Oh yeah, whenever I reach a new zone, I just go right, and make a big circle around the edge to find the exit. I spend so long in the first forest map of act 1, because it's a pretty huge map, and the quest is hidden in like, one single corner. but not close enough to the edge of the map to run into it naturally. I basically had to full-reveal just for a quest. Maps like this are ass and annoying. SPECIALLY early on when you don't have dumb clear-speed and just run trough everything.

Ah yes Ledge, Western Forest, The Sewers, Aqueduct, Rooftops, Karui Fortress, Ashen Fields, Toxic Conduits, Boiling Lake are all HUGE and definitely in POE2 you can walk around mobs and not get stuck in place and be forced to engage with them, also theres the plethora of movement skills in POE2 to quickly traverse areas and the average movespeed being much lower. Yes lets forget all about that.

Map generation isn't all there yet, chalk up to EA shit. Dead ends are one thing but open maps can spawn massive lines of walls you hug while trying to find an exit. We don't have all the mobility PoE1 offers either which is something that gets glossed over as obvious as it is. No 3 flasks of quicksilver and a momentum gem slotted in.

I've come to the realisation that complaining about the difficulty is pointless because there's an army of people who either rolled lucky or are masochistic and will use it to remind you how great they are. I'd insert that /v/ image "i like having broken legs, the ground is too soft" if i had it.

they use up your regular skill points but just allow you to bind some of them to only be active with a certain weapon set.
if you don't have any reason to do that then just make sure you don't have one of the weapon sets highlighted in the top right of your skill screen and it'll assign points as normal

just hitting a single mob one time with basic attack is enough to prime for stun and then it blows up everything
in group play, I'm not entirely sure what the deal is, but every non rare mob is primed for stun at all times even without being hit yet

You can already tell there won't be any crazy builds in this game. There isn't going to be a wormblaster or ward loop style builds where the mechanics are pushed to their limits. It's going to be boring obvious shit. They said the reason you won't be able to use two of the same support skills is so they can design more interesting supports yet the new supports are either complete shit or just a basic number boost.

If you play ruthless you'll have fun. It's like an easier version of the mode, only bosses have actual mechanics so leveling is exciting.
If you think ruthless is shit you're probably not going to have a good time. A lot of things carry over on your first character, like the piss poor drop rate, lack of supports for your skills, and enemies scaled around players with traded gear.

The issue is that there are 3 camps of players:
- Casuals that get filtered by bosses
- ADHDers that want to zoom and don't want to spend 30 hours in campaign for each new character because it's fucking boring
- Autists who enjoy spending 1000 hours in acts just swinging their stupid mace
Now it's up to GGG to figure out a way to make the game work for all the these three groups before they start bleeding players next week.

This is fixed after your first character. Having the gold for gambles lets you instagib every pack you run across. The acts are fast when you have high MS, know where to go, skip trash packs, and can rush down bosses fast enough to skip mechanics.
So it's pretty much like modern day poe in that regard. Maybe closer to ruthless where tour first character will struggle but it's smooth sailing after.

I don't actually think this is a real issue. There's way too much bad faith in conversations here when I think PoE2 could keep all of its design decisions and philosophies if things were just tuned better. I really don't think there're that many people that're actually mad because it's different.

If we weren't at the mercy of the game's brutal RNG for gear, if half the skill classes didn't have retard skill distribution where some have combos at level 1 and some take 3 tiers to start accessing their tools, and if we weren't getting lost in maps trying to backtrack through a bunch of poorly generated walls, I really think people would bitch less.

There're random drops that upgrade gem slots. They're tiered, so the lowest tier only takes you up to 3 slots. You start seeing the lowest tier in act 3.

Died at lvl 39 rank 39 on the hardcore SSF ladder and I'm not having fun.

You are a shitter of course but getting stuck in such a long animation lock shouldn't exist in 2024. MMOs have figured this out years ago, I imagine singleplayer action RPGs haven't caught on yet. The player should always have control, being locked in animation is unfun regardless of genre. At most animation lock should occur for around half a second before the player is capable of canceling it via WASD movement or a movent skill like an i-frame or something.

I think honestly the worst part was how mobs drop NO LOOT.
The zones are fucking huge and it takes forever to just do one, so you outlevel the zone and barely get any exp. Meaning you are left with killing mobs that don't give EXP nor loot.

Like if the game would at least throw me some loot to make me feel good and excited it would be fine. But my entire experience is just using the same skill killing mobs and bosses that barely rewards me for I donno how long.

I am a fucking dumb ass? How do I beat the cemetery bosses as a monk? I avoid all the melee attacks, but there's no way I can stop every single spirit from getting vacuumed up and getting the bosses buffed.
I've been using Killing Palm, Falling Thunder, and Staggering Palm for most enemies, but my damage is really low, a magic level 8 quarterstaff is the best weapon I've found so far.

power charge generation is bad for now, it gets a bit better later. you'll better switch to using tempest bells with some sort of fast hitting strike ability, do you have that 5 hitting lightning one yet? don't remember the tier... anyways the bell is a huge multiplier and with your setup being effectively dead on single target it doesn't do much to bosses.
they really fucked up with lightning monk relying so hard on powecharges yet siphoning strike is like the end of act 2.

Same shit with summons. Can't make use of zombies or unearth because no corpses and no power charges. That's why raging spirits is the only viable minion build. You can actually resummon them when they die. Everything else either instantly dies and has to wait to respawn or requires corpses that you cannot create yourself. It's retarded.

Can't wait for GGG to get smart and hit raging spirits with the nerf hammer destroying minion "builds" there's just that one in one go. If this is how they treat minions then spectres are going to be dogshite.

I really hope GGG doesn't touch the difficulty. I have about 15 hours in the game so far, and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite games of all time. It's challenging, yes, but this results in me being fully engaged and having to learn the mechanics IOT to overcome—something that hasn't happened to me in years. Every pack of monsters has me engaged, something that was lacking in POE1 IMO. Having to do thoughtful combo, dodge, watch my charges, think about my POSITIONING (yes, I got killed many times because i corned myself like a dummy, and I enjoyed every bit of it, this gives importance to trash mob), and build up powerful finisher is incredibly rewarding. I can appreciate how much thought went into creating this constant feeling of engagement, GGG pulled it off amazingly well.

Difficulty will naturally lower as ppl get more experienced, learn monster patterns, and understand how to effectively build a character.

Yes, you'll lose some players that are getting discouraged, but those are not the type of players for this game. There are tons of other games out there for them.

I strongly believe that if you stick to your guns on this one, you'll build a strong and healthy player base for years to come.

It's going to be good for lategame ES stacking builds. The instant mana leech to energy shield thing is amazing, and easily getting to 90% Chaos resistance from the +10 maximum is also pretty fucking good. The other stuff is whatever.
I think it's the key to the most unkillable faceroll build which can sit there with 20k ES leeching off any chip damage.

Yeah, only really pop it for big tanky backs of enemies, usually ones with rares, shout + rolling slam is more than enough for trash mobs.
Rolling slam was too slow to use for that boss, Had to Shout, EQ, Roll, Shout, EQ, Roll to dodge his auto attack cleave.

Do you just lack any and all pattern recognition? Path of exile bosses all have audio cues. The act 1 boss in your webm reads his shitty poetry while you're in his add phase. After each stanza he pauses and charges you. You can dodge roll the charge. His adds deal no damage so you can take your time and pick them off.
