How the fuck do solo people climb so high in Blitz? And no, don't call it skill. They have to be paired up with 7 random team mates. There's so many RNG and variables

Everyone says it's so easy to climb in Blitz. I've been playing for hours for weeks. Still can't get above 1700. I'm geared, play objective, CC healers, nuke targets down, and try to win, but I lose like 2 out 3 games because my team mates are clueless chickens.

Anyone know when I should be using Rain of Fire as a destro lock rather than chaos bolt? 5 targets or more? Or still use it on 3-4 targets? I've mostly been spamming it if there's at least 5.

Also should I be applying immolate to all targets I can? Feels like a waste of time as I don't use cataclysm talent.

i know they can "technically" wield it, but they cant actually wield it. none of its specs wield a weapon that can mog it. resto and ele have to give up a pretty massive chunk of armor, like cut their armor in half for no reason, and enhancement shaman im pretty sure just straight up cant push its buttons with a 2 hander equipped these days, i think they locked stormstrike and lavalash to requiring 2 weapons or they're greyed out.

so yeah, you can technically use it to walk around town with, but you cant actually use it

Solo shuffle is the hardest as it requires actual personal skill and blitz is just rng. 2s or 3s are easy because you can just find good players to play with and get carried.

I got set on hpal after playing 7 games of solo shuffle, one where a guy ragequit after round 4. I ended 21W-19L. the last game I played I went 6-0, it moved me from 1300 rating to 1800 rating.

Look at heritage armor. That EASILY could have been a cash shop $20 a set premium skin, but instead you get it for free along with a beefy racial storyline quest (tauren even have 2) and they are still adding new ones every year.

There is also the tendies. They could have made tendies a cash shop purchasable item but they left it specifically only unlock able via gameplay as an incentive to just play the fucking game (you could consider it a sub incentive but it's a sub based game so not really any more than any other event or weekly offering)

They make so much fucking money off cash shop mounts that it allows them plenty of padding financially to do player focused quality of life and cosmetic features.

I mean hell they made the barbershop free, straight up axing an old payed character customization change service to give it to everyone for free, it doesn't even cost gold like transmog

I'd make a hermit hut in terrokkar for my shaman, off by the outskirts of the bone wastes. I'd build a humble place but make it a cool piece of scenery, experiment with a ton of small set pieces and props.

I'd really like if there was an "explore" feature where you could visit a random players house, and a "favourite" feature where you could request to favourite their house and have it load in every time you visit the zone.

So around October 10/11, Tinderboxes were going for an insane amount of gold. I think around 10,000 each.
I was online very early in the morning for EU, when Blizzard put up a bluepost saying that they were about to add a vendor to allow you to turn in 3x Viridian Gloomcaps, Gloomfathom Hide and so on and turn them into 1 Tinderbox
3 of those Mushrooms was worth like...50 gold? They were barely anything at all. I bought as many as I could (and I was a bit too risk-averse, unfortunately), and I was the first person at the vendor when they finally spawned it live-hotfix style
I rushed to the AH, put up as many tinderboxes as possible, they sold immediately
This was because people hadn't read the post yet and assumed Tinderboxes were still worth 10k
I repeated this 3 times more before everyone else had realised and EVERY SINGLE reagent you could turn into tinderboxes had been bought up.
I made ~4 million gold in 1 minute. I could've done more if I had been the jew who bought all the mushrooms, rather than just some of them.

DF's dynamic flight was the first new mode of movement since wrath. I sometimes wonder what the game would look like if "new movement" became a standard of new xpacs. if wrath's vehicle & siege mechanics were just an accepted part of gameplay now.

either way, we've finally got back to the timeline where they make iterative improvements on WoW instead of deleting 2/3rds of your binds, HP bar, movement options, old item functionality, and healing capabilities like in WoD and every xpac since.

They recently caught a week ban because of spamming "FAGDUIN KILLED WOW" in trade chat, lol.

disc is an exercise in self flagellation in a pug environment. play holy until you get the feel for healing, then learn disc after you get more experience. disc is a convoluted dps->heal transfer spec, but unlike something like fistweaver, its heals are not smart. it requires buff setup and tracking alongside burst dps windows and if your party gets its dick punched in while either of those things are down you will S T R U G G L E to get them back up, and disc basically doesnt function pre-70. not to say that disc isnt perfectly capable in the right hands, but the learning curve is significantly steeper than a normal healer or even a fistweaver, and dont let the tryhards here tell you otherwise

holy is very simple and straightforward, push heal, get heal. it gets a bit more tricky with holy word cooldown reduction, and things like trail of light and lightweaver slightly alter the way you play. you may want prayer of healing and circle of healing while leveling, but by the time you get to 70 and start unlocking hero talents you can drop them. holy has both great on demand instant heals and mana efficiency, especially if you are diligent about using prayer of mending on cooldown, which you should always do. it has good tank cooldowns and a solid group aoe cooldown, and buckets of free passive healing via halo talents, cosmic ripple, and divine image, as well as a simple and straightforward but effective dps rotation.

NTA, but is there much of a difference between Resto Sham and Holy Sham in terms of difficulty? but for that effort, you get significantly more crowd control, smart heals, mobility, and status cleanses, shamans can cleanse poison, disease, magic, curse, fear, charm, sleep, and also have both personal and group root clears.

it still offers that straightforward healing button is the healing button gameplay like holypriest, but with a more robust toolkit. on the downside mana management can be a bit more tricky with resto shaman in prolonged fights, and they lack that big instant cast heal that holy priests enjoy with their powerwords so emergencies take an extra second or two to recover from, though cooldowns like spirit link totem can help smooth it out. shamans also heal, cc, and cleanse with ground based physical totem objects, so scenarios with a lot of long distance movement can cause them problems, though they have a talent to mitigate that if you need it

but shaman do still have tank dna, a whole line of spells revolving around shields, shield proficiency, earth element, aoe crowd controls and good interrupts, the bones are there, but it should definitely be a separate spec.

if i had my way, it would lean into the elemental shields, totems for CC and damage reduction/shields (bulwark totem, capacitor are already both spells that would be great on a tank), and summoning earth elementals and doing a spirit link style damage splitting effect with them for mitigation. like maybe the "warder shaman" version of barkskin would be a 12 sec duration earth elemental that spirit links with you

idk, there are tons of fun things you could do, but people have been rabidly asking for a shaman tank for 20 years and its long overdue, but i'd hate to see them kill enhancement as a dynamic and fast paced melee spell dps just to make it happen when druid and evoker have proven you can just straight up add new specs to a class

its mobile, it can be very good on efficiency if played right, and it can quickly spread long term heals to a large amount of players, but its kit is dated, it lacks throughput (you will feel like you are putting out a housefire with a water bucket), and it lacks anything resembling a good immediate group heal that isnt on a 1min+CD, which is too infrequent for the current encounter design.

its dps options are also hella clunky to use (multiple dots that dont have the same target count, long cast time aoe spell with crap output, a bursty single target cooldown hit but no corresponding aoe hit, dps rotation generally contributes nothing to healing)

it can be flexible if you get into shapeshifting kung fu and really sit down to master the class, but it has to work 3x as hard for half the payout as pretty much any other healer.

It sucks when you carry a pug all night and it just doesn't pay off. The pull before the kill I was doing 1.7mil going into the last phase but we wiped, then on the kill we got up the platforms too quickly and I didn't have cds for the first set of hatchlings and got a shitty parse. I finally see a seal drop and lose it to a shitty warlock 96 to 98. That's probably as close I am ever going to get to that ring. Whatever, at least I still love Ansurek.

Former Final Fantasy Tranny here. How does this game compare to it if someone played both here?

I only played FF because my friends got me into it and promised me a good story. They lied. So I dropped that game pissed off after putting so much fucking time in. I did however learn I might like MMOs. Now obviously I only ever played FF 14 but to me it felt like that game kept holding back on a lot of shit to make it a safe console and user friendly experience. Like there were for example placed where you couldn''t jump down to your death because an invisible wall prevented oyu from jumping there like in the middle of a city not at the edge of the world. Also there were loading screens between all areas which really didnt make it feel like a huge world to lose yourself in.

Hard to get up to speed on the current narrative quickly If you are new because of the decentralized 20 year story. Watch some lore vids to catch up

Gearing is a bit of a treadmill, but the game has an excellent glamor system, better than final fantasy except that you can hide weapon or helm easily

No player housing yet but on its way

Tons more mounts, and better mount mechanics

If you want it to feel socially alive try a high population rp realm like moonguard. Otherwise people barely talk or leave the auction house hub area

Oh, and always play on a full population server for the best experience, and it might be worth asking around which server is good depending on if you want to play horde or alliance, because most servers skew heavily to one side on their population, like 95%. This used to be one of the most lively generals on this board - dozens if not hundreds of people posting their characters and what they were doing in the game no matter how trivial it was and discussing little aspects about the game. Looking at it now after the shadowlands meltdown its a real sight to see just how wracked with despair and apathy everyone is. I don't think they will ever recover from having a captive audience in lockdown and then blowing it this hard.

Only half of them seem to want to make any effort to improve. But the most fucked part is how bad players actually approach gitting gud and improving. I've never seen such dysfunctional views and methods in all my time playing. The sheer cope some of them are making about getting bad rng on gear when they're running around in fucking 375-380. Or even knowing they need better gear but their efforts to get it are doing soup and then asking monday night if anyone wants to run a +2 key. And despite all this, not one of them seems aware that just reading how to play their damn class and sitting in a training dummy and actually practicing it would do more than gear ever could. Or god forbit actually using a flask or enchanting their gear. I'm sure if I piloted their character I'd at least get a high green or blue in their gear.

And the other half I wonder if they even thought or assumed they were included in the "git gud or git out" speech because they don't seem to have done anything. Especially this one bitch who is the most insufferable cunt I've raided with in at least expansions, who made numerous copes about why he couldn't be active until this week, and then still hasn't been online since the tuesday raid.

Ok so I am trying to optimize my keybinds. So I chose on using the buttons 1 - 4, Q,E,R,F, including Shift and CTRL Modifier keys to put my abilities on.
My question is what other keybinds are used commonly. I mean stuff like Tab for Targeting or F1 to F5 keys for targeting.
Is it necessary to have a keybind for just auto attacking? I mean I usually engage with an ability anyways so I don't need that right?
And whata bout an interaction key. Am I fine with just right clicking or are there situation where it would be advantageous to ahve a dedicated interaction key bound?
