MODOK not being in already is actually kind of surprising, since famously there's always been one guy high up in Marvel's licensing department who INSISTS wherever he can that people put him in.
That's why he was in MvC3. That's why he was Wave 0 in MCP, and that's why of all people, MODOK was the primary villain in that awful live-service Avengers game.
It must have been that last one that finally got him ousted for doing that all the time. But yeah, this is actually a game where MODOK would be a really good fit.

The devs are Japanese/Korean/Chinese and it shows for that exact reason, they aren't afraid to add some sexiness to the game. The bigger surprise is that Disney allowed it. Prior to modern era, comics used to be known for having extremely sexy and attractive characters it's only recently that woke shit has ruined character designs in comics. Rivals actually captures what these characters are SUPPOSED to look like.

A generally fun 3rd person team based arena shooter with objectives. Kinda similar to old school stuff like Unreal Tournament but obviously a lot more cartoony and based around characters instead of weapons. It's a fun and addictive game, if balanced correctly. The reason Overwatch failed is because they couldn't balance the game to save their lives and it became stale with a lack of new characters. I don't think Rivals will ever have that problem considering they can pull from a near infinite roster of characters with unique movesets.

If you've never played a hero shooter before the only thing that will take time for you to adjust to is the speed and visual clutter. The game is FAST AS FUCK, you can be walking alone one second and then the next there are 7 characters on screen all ulting with visual effects everywhere and you die immediately with almost no reaction time. Even tanks can be bursted down in less than a second. It takes a while to get used to the pace and visual effects and learn wtf is going on

pretty much everything, your tracking might be a bit off but that's about it. the abundance of melee characters can kind of make the game feel a tad different at times, but in essence you still handle it all the same way. unironically the beta was just overwatch players coming to shit on players who didn't really play ow. it felt like part of the appeal in a way, people who don't make it to the top in ow getting their chance to make it to the top in this 'new' game, the skills transfer over almost exactly. and it being fresh plus the casual marvel audience just gives even mediocre ow players a place to shine.

Depends on what role but healbotting is way stronger in Rivals but there's also way less mobility especially for support. If you're a GM Ana or Brig player you'll be top 0.1% in Rivals easily.

DPS is kind of whatever, I think it's the same issue as OW where tank is just better in most cases.

I dont think it'll matter much overall though. 99% of the players in the beta were complete dogshit and it'll be even worse in the full release. It's yet to be seen how many sweats will stick with the game.

I think it'll eventually end up a relatively niche thing like For Honor but probably more popular than that. People who can't take overwatch's dick out of their mouth will drop it within a month if they even play it at all because the new game hype will have warn off and there will be some new current thing to shitpost about, Marvel fans will check in for new characters.

But I don't actually think you can really accurately predict how popular it will be long term or what audience it will keep. For all I know that Fragpunk game will come out and become Fortnite 2. I mean, it wont but I guess it's not technically impossible.

None of the strategists really have that. Loki is the most mechanical of them from the beta (so no idea about cloak and dagger.) The rest do have macro skill and need good positioning and CD management but on the micro they're mostly just spamming M1 to damage/heal. If you want an aimskill character you'd have to play Hela or I'm guessing Hawkeye/Widow (also not in the beta)

DPS/Damage. In macro terms they're the most varied because their kits tend to be more specialized. Like black panther and psylocke are built for getting into the enemy backline and doing burst damage to take out a healers whereas say Namor is more defensive and can lock down a flank route and hold space a tank cleared.

magneto and strange are slow push "main tanks"
peni is area of denial with mines but her biggest strength is a ranged 0.7s stun on a 3s cooldown
Groot is also slow but without shield. only spamming walls, great for chokepoints
venom is hard dive
thor and cap are beefier dps
hulk is a weird divetank, definitely the hardest to play well. he was used a lot in beta tournaments but the average(shitter) player feedback was that he sucks

The menu/launcher is the thing that drains performance.
Everytime there is a cutscene, game is sluggier than a mule.

The game is fun but it's unironically OW with a Marvel sugarcoat. Once you're done with the roster, it's getting unistalled sadly.
Also, OW2 wasn't running this bad. Optimization is clunky.

I havent played the offical release yet but magneto was hilariously broken in the beta so maybe try him.

He had an OP sword ability that dealt crazy damage when he was paired up with scarlet witch and he had a reinhart shield he could throw up for 5 seconds that was invincible and blocked all damage including ultimates. His weapon charges up in between shots to deal more damage and did a fuckload on a headshot but he could get run down pretty quickly if you missed.
