Games are boring?

No.504576213 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Hey guys, I'm not historically a gamer. I haven't played games since I was a kid and had a Nintendo 64. I'm in my mid 30s now.

Here's the thing: A couple of days ago I got an urge to start gaming on my PC. I got Steam and bought a bunch of games that I researched was supposed to be the "best games".

I bought:
> Red Dead Redemption 2
> Elden Ring
> GTA 5
> God of War
> American Truck Simulator
> Hitman

I've tried all the games now, at least a few hours per game. Here's what I think:

> Red Dead Redemption 2
Incredibly boring. It's like no gaming at all. You just watch a bunch of videos/cutscenes and then you press/hold "A" while your horse goes in a straight line. I don't get it. I have uninstalled it.

> Elden Ring
I didn't understand it. I got about an hour into it and I kept getting killed by some NPC, and couldn't progress further. I requested a refund and have now uninstalled it as well.

> GTA 5
This was really cringe. A bunch of cutscenes just like RDR2 and then shitty controls. The character moved really slow and the fighting just wasn't fun. Uninstalled after an hour.

> God of War
I've just played for 20 minutes but this game seems really boring, just like Elden Ring. A bunch of cutscenes.

> American Truck Simulator
Everyone on Reddit said this was an epic game. I tried it a bit (did one delivery) but I just didn't see the appeal. It felt like work having to drive that slow truck around.

> Hitman
This is the only game I've gotten some enjoyment out of so far. I've probably played for like 5 hours now. I'm still on the second mission only. But it's been pretty fun.

Now, can you guys recommend me some games? I want something that I can just fire up, play for 30 minutes or an hour and enjoy. Not watch a bunch of cutscenes or storytelling. And I want nice responsive controls.

I want either some action game (although not Tekken-style games, I find them really low IQ). Or do you have an other suggestion? Or is gaming just boring in general?
