Like said before, the long downtime on its buffs make Widsith not so great unless your char can slot most of it's damage inside the buff window (like Ayaka, but currently no catalyst user comes to mind who's kit is like that). Though it still is the best purple option in most cases of course. But if you look at weapon rankings, always look for the unbuffed Widsith ranking as well, since majority of the time you won't have the buff.
