Worst part is that companies like Activision can look at the abject failure of their game and think that their practices are therefore good. Mind you they wouldn't change anyway, but still. Can't wait for S1R to hit and the game to get mostly fixed only to immediately break again at S2, sure is a good thing nobody can make a viable alternative to fill the niche because modern devs are literal retards.

I swear it's like this game was made by hundred different small groups within the studio. Like group project at school where people put shit together at the end and stuff doesn't fit because there was no communication between groups.
For example, you get challenges for killing "rapidly", but those have completely different timing than badges for getting multi kills. Or some challenges that are worded incoherently but when you actually collect them during a game, the pop up has a clear description.

I'm absolutely on his side on this one because there is literally zero incentive to risk tanking your reputation by making a system explicitly designed to fuck with people, and while SBMM does somewhat accomplish that there's at least a few layers of plausible deniability you can work through. Also, if it was real it would disproportionately affect higher skill players, I've dealt with godawful hitreg where my gun shoots peanuts and I consider 2.0 E/D to be a good match for me.

Im so tited of this. Why cant the MP remain disconnected and the campaign stand on its own? Like, Crimson One should have been in the campaign. There should have been an actual CIA hit team you have run-ins with throughout the game. All the Pantheon Elites should have been Crimson One operatives with unique abilities serving as minibosses.

Furthermore, giving the notIlluminati their own fucking army is comic book tier dumb. They should always be using puppet forces that serve their interests. Every instance that Pantheon troops show up could plausibly have been something else

>capitol station: CIA operatives in the blacksite, SWAT/FBI in the station and during the escape

Sounds like the servers being shit and either dropping inputs (when it doesn't shoot) or triggering animations to show when your input actually got processed server-side (when it shoots fast).
Reminds me of all the times where I've hit the grenade button, the throw animation fully plays, and then I just haven't actually thrown the grenade because the animation was playing client-side but server-side the input got dropped.

Unfortunately that's not a bug, that's a "feature." If you save before the end of a round it resets your in-match progress to the exact point it was at the start of the round, however this does not apply to stuff outside of the match such as challenges. It's a two-way abusive relationship.

I have the G7 SE and I just bought another one because they're only 36 dollars right now. Nothing is wrong with the other one but with my luck with controllers rather just have one waiting. Has an app you can do all the stick and pressure adjustments on or increase the frequency. Has a mute button and volume adjust on the controller too which is nice when using it on the xbox. I disagree. The burst guns in this game are operating as if it's 2009 where killing in one burst is impressive, it isn't. The godawful hit detection coupled with the insane movement not present in older style CoD games is already working against the burst rifles, their anus-tier handling and massive burst delay outright cripple them. Sure there's a lot of potential there, but that's like saying snipers are OP (they are) because you could theoretically hipfire someone from across the a sightline and kill them.

I dunno what all the YT reviews complaining that the SCUD hunt mission is boring are smoking, the SCUD hunt might be one of the best missions in a COD game to be honest. My only problem with it is that the game keeps insulting both my aim and my attention span by giving me the option to teleport back to my Land Rover or the base camp (they're so close literally what is the point, who has so little patience they can't sprint for 10 seconds or drive for 30?) and my teammates keep telling me not to snipe enemies because the devs apparently think I'm a retard who can't hit sniper shots beyond 100m.

You can only get away with it in the campaign, but using gyro aiming makes sniping feel way more real because you actually have to hold your hands steady and not jerk the controller when pulling the trigger in order to hit your shots.

Scud hunt was amazing for a one time thing. Doing side quests rewarded you with air strike from Delta forces, pinged enemies for each camp and so on. It was very enjoyable though I can see it getting tedious very fast if they built the entire game around that. Which is why BO6 campaign is great, it always changed its set pieces and gimmicks to keep that 8 hours run time a non-stop entertainment. Raven cooked

This shit is so sad. COD2 was the last good COD to play online when we were able to build our own servers with how we wanted to play the game (maps, modes, how many snipers etc. each team can have etc). Now these fuckers talk about "playstyles" yet you can only play what the game allows and gives you, you don't have a real option. Plus not to mention how every real game dev has left this dreg and unqualified coders are just copying and pasting old code ever since ogMW, but probably even longer (as the screenshot posted here says, some code goes back to quake). The spawns are the best indicator - they still use the cod and cod2 system yet it was already broken in OG MW since the movement kept getting faster and faster so there are no "safe" spawns available. And building retarded open ended maps worsens everything as the "aim assist" controller players, which i am forced to play with, can just lock on across the map an pre-aim every spawn point.

It's depressing being a 40 year old gamer that liked FPS games brahs. UT99 or Q3 are still the best probably and cod2 is okay. Now all you get is endless battlepasses, challenges, camos and metas. I just wanna kill all of you young millenials and zoomers for being so fucking stupid, fuck you faggots.

This sucks because Vanguard would've been interesting if it stuck with its vision for an alternate history WW2. it's hard to say how bad it is since the netcode is broken, servers are shit and you can't really experience the actual game since what you are seeing on the screen in not actually what the game registers and processes so sometime you already stopped shooting at the other guy yet you get a kill and sometimes you empty a whole mag into someone and you don't even get a hitmarker,
i found out that worsening my ping makes the game experience better - i start downloading stuff with dl limit and the ping that the game shows me goes from 20 to 35 or 40 and it is easier to get kills and harder to die lmao

No that's not actually what happened. Blackout was made quickly in one year and a half just because the campaign was so bad it got scrapped and thrown out. You can thank Jason Blundell for that he sabotaged BO4 and ran away from the studio

the issue is strictly with battle net and i am fucking furious with myself for buying the game via bnet instead of steam

The ultimate issue is that it'd be pretty easily verifiable if weapons just weren't doing the right damage for no apparent reason and would have far worse consequences for player retention than letting some newbie get dunked on. Hell, with 2boxing especially it should be very easy to test. And even if it does go under the radar, there's gotta be a really small margin of return at best for making your game feel like shit to try and get a purchase. Nobody's saying they can't do it or that they're too nice to do it. They're saying it's not a profitable enough decision to justify the immense risk and generally making your game feel like shit.

Granted, they could probably get away with it because CoD players have zero standards but I'm pretty sure there'd still be enough blowback to make it not worthwhile.

i hate how connection issues really fuck with the overall feel of the game compared to any previous cod i've played. for example, lets say i'm using the Krig which has really good recoil for the first 10 or so bullets but then goes completely crazy after that. when the connection is great and the netcode actually works, its a laser beam of a weapon. but when the connection is shit and you're forced to use over 10 bullets it makes the gun completely unviable. so i've found i've had to make several classes not based on preference, but based on connection quality. XM4 seems to excel when the connection is poor with great accuracy and TTK, but is worse than the Krig when the connection is good.

I wish they fixed shit shit already. I never had this issue with MW3 or any previous cod that i can remember.

they're owned by microsoft who are the 2nd biggest data centre provider in the world. but even saying that, i don't think it's a server issue. i'm assuming cod has been using the same provider for decades, whoever it is. many recent cod's don't have this same netcode issue that bo6 has. the last one i can think of was cold war, another treyarch game. it's definitely a treyarch issue.

black ops 1 netcode was awful for a long while because treyarch wanted to write their own netcode rather than use the one from modern warfare 2 or something along those lines. it's still pretty shit to this day.

black ops 2 launched a bit spotty but by the end the connection was pretty damn good.

didn't play black ops 3 or 4.

cold war had a shit netcode where it felt like your initial bullets would hit but when the enemy was on the last tiny bar of health, your bullets would just phase through them. no idea if that was intentional or not but it was annoying.

i'm wondering if it's because treyarch moved to this new engine and they're having teething problems again. but in that case why couldn't they just borrow tech from IW/SHG rather than make us suffer through these awful connection problems for another treyarch game.

Matchmaking is still the same it ever was: they control it to drop feed fun/normal matches. It's not really anything else. This is how you make people coming back because they waste 4-5 matches suffering and then feel "good" when they finally get a single normal, more lenient match instead of sweat faggotry or something.

Every step should be preceded with a character giving you some hint. It can be as simple as directing you to a specific area to investigate but I hate how a lot of this shit is spam the use button everywhere on the map or shoot random shit

For example the bottom left most symbol. If one of your computers has that symbol lets say x for arguments sake, x = 22. 2 on the left and 2 on the bottom combined/ If you got the top right circle it would be 0.

Double XP was working for people, right? I’ve seen so many posts on r*ddit that claim it was never working or that Treyarch actually dropped the XP gains so it would be less overall while still claiming double XP was active. But I think they’re just being retarded because a lot of people also seem to think that challenges should be rewarding double XP when I don’t think historically they ever have across all the previous CoD titles. Secondly, they did nerf XP amounts in the FaceOff/Stakeout playlists so maybe people are being clueless there as well? I managed to almost go up 2 prestiges and I only played about 15 hours during the event

Should have had 50 base damage but much lower range than the dmr 10, and dmr 10 should have gotten a 1 hit headshot with chf to be the middle ground between svu and goblin.
As is, there's no reason to ever use goblin in normal game modes

I don't think it was double xp in stakeout. Base stakeout is .6x xp (and nuketown .8x xp) but it didn't feel like 1.2x xp, felt more like .9x xp
Weapon xp was definitely 1.2x though, and nuketown was definitely 1.6x

Correct, 2XP has only ever doubled kill/assist/objective/etc XP, never the bonus XP from challenges/camos.

SBMM is pretty fucking gay, and I say that as a 1.3 K/D shitter back when it was kills and not eliminations. SBMM makes it more annoying to play with friends, less consistent connection quality in a game already suffering from massive connection issues, and sucks the fun out of doing well because you've become conditioned to expect dick-flattening lobbies if you do too well too often. Imagine defending a system that makes you feel bad for fucking winning?

If you use your best class against trash opponents you might go 40-8 or something and have SBMM swing you to extremely high level lobbies, then you get trashed and get swung into trash lobbies again.
Meanwhile someone that's normally elite might do some tough camo grinding like pistols and find themselves in mid lobbies, so when they switch to a good weapon start steam rolling since they're punching down.

For me it was the dogshit hitreg and general desync, same issue BO6 is supposedly having but they feel totally different
i played it recently because friends wanted to try it and its pretty solid
movement still doesnt feel good sadly and the majority of players left playing are megasweats
