Very happy with this expansion. Going to play hardcore (on EU) until I slowly grind out my ring and cheevos on the isle. The total maze rat and raider cleansing this expansion is only an added bonus. Have a good winter break, bros.

okay how do you actually get into mythic plus?

i just hit level 80 with my first healer and got my gear up to 605 doing delves and heroics and caches and stuff. i decided to watch a mythic plus video of my spec to see how it plays.

what. the. fuck.

how do people play this game mode? everyones healthbar is constantly dropping to from 100 percent to 10 percent instnantly like every 2 to 3 seconds. i dont have that many emergency buttons, and the whole time there are airhorns blairing that im assuming is some addon? and then you only have a half an hour to finish the dungeon?

do i have to play this game mode? why do people play this game mode? being honest, it looks fucking miserable

what spec?
currently M+ is just nonstop AOE healing checks so a LOT of pressure is put onto the healers while dps players just drool as usual
It's fun once you get good and actually have friends to play with but solo is miserable

spirit link totem currently has a bug due to scaling that causes it to instantly kill or near instantly kill players, and then cause everyones health to randomly jump between 1% to 100% unpredictably for its duration. it only appears to happen in the timewalking event dungeons.

Where does Preservation Evoker rank in the current state of healers? I'm currently playing Holy Priest and Resto Shaman, the leap of quality for R-Shammy over H-Priest is pretty damn substantial.
Only 79 on Prevoker at the moment, I'm feeling like there's plenty of movement utility, but hard to say how effective the heals are being until I can gear it, but is it worth the commitment or should I dive into Aug instead?

It's just funny because it's a book conceptualized around "what if they had a fucking war crimes hearing for Garrosh" and even with Golden's bad writing there's a legitimate and funny attempt at a court room drama. But it can't actually have a real ending because it was written with them already knowing "Garrosh is going to escape and do fucking time travel shit" so you have the very awful August Celestials being the single worst characters in the entire series up to that point I guess and that can only exist in the context of "we need a book where expressly nothing in it matters". It reads like a bad in universe movie.

i dont think its going to be big all at once. i think they're going to do what they've been doing with ret paladin and shaman and monk. just here and there slowly removing an ability and turning them into passive effects that trigger automatically or into transforming buttons that use the same keybind to access multiple skills.

i think the talent team has a new model, instead of doing nothing but minor tweaks all expansion and then doing big reworks at the start of the expansion, they are now doing 1 or 2 specs per patch, streamlining them or providing alternate builds that give the user the choice to streamline them. like with the new enhancement shaman. you can still play ice strike, lavalash, flameshock multispread primordial wave funnel shit, or you could play stormstrike stormcaller 2 button white monster energy on a lawnmower chill.

Cata lead into Mop > WoD > Legion > BFA > SL, but Dragonflight does not have any relation or build up from Shadowlands.
It is also a very "safe" fantasy of dragons.

But to answer your question: it genuinely doesn't matter. All classes are viable in TBC unless you really don't want to be shoehorned into one specific role, like Paladin (who are again, dress-wearing healsluts in TBC but even more extremely because they're actually extremely good at it)

I hate to say it but I think for the health of the game there needs to be an overall defensive gutting. Beyond that I don't think there's anything overall that makes me go "literally every single spec needs a pruning". A lot of specs are in a pretty good spot right now and the outliers can be dealt with as they have been with a rework mid patch here and there.

Mind you, the only reason it exists is that Blizzard, in their infinite wisdom, had managed to kill off every single noteable red dragon other than Alexstrasza prior to Dragonflight. Therefore, the troons in charge were allowed to make up that horrible OC character to fill that role as her new majordomo, a role that should have been filled by either Korialstrasz, Calen etc.

Honestly, I think this is my biggest issue with the game right now. Rotational/Prioritizational MMO gameplay has its limits, and I feel like modern WoW has gone way beyond it. I will not pretend there isn't a degree of skill issue, at least in my case, but the sheer amount of abilities and passives every class has access to is just stupid, especially in PvP.

eh, i think some of the new rotations are some of the best they've done. people shit on ret but in my opinion templar ret is one of the most satisfying rotations in the game in terms of button feel, spell effects and sound design, its mobile and easy to play so you can better pay attention to mechanics, it doesnt have an absurd amount of setup like some specs that feel like you need to set up 12 domino pieces before you start actually doing anything.

If its Shadowlands, then yeah. Pretty much everyone but Night Fae have their success percentages borked because their actual followers are garbage and their footsoldiers aren't great either.
Necrolords have great ranged footsoldiers but they're made of paper, and their tanks can't protect them properly.
Whereas Night Fae followers and footsoldiers are overpowered as fuck and have a much higher success rate than the percentage implies.

I found a totally random average ret pal +2 key to compare my run to (i'm player 9, he's player 4). he has less ilvl than me but does 727k DPS to my 482k.
the question is what i'm missing. i understand the holy power generation + the two spenders that are for single target or more than one target. i think i got that down pat, my total number of casts per skill seems comparable to his.

racial bonuses are so negligible that you should just pick race based on aesthetics and vibes, dont worry about the racial powers, the situations where they make a difference are so minor and niche that it doesnt matter.

as far as class/spec goes, try a few out, do you want melee or ranged? fast or slow? tank, dps, or healer? demonic, holy, arcane, natural, or physical?

pretty much the only problem with it currently is that some of the quests are a bit bugged or janky. they fixed the frostwyrm quest, the worst one now is mostly just the miners ghost quest which for some reason just absolutely will not give you ghosts until like the end of the cave. it completely stalls the pace.

but otherwise it is still one of the best starting zones in terms of flavor and theme they have ever done, and bugs aside holds up really well.

Low keys aren't good for testing your "sustained" DPS. In low keys, mobs die extremely quickly. Most of the time before you can even touch them, someone else in the group melts them. In higher keys, the mobs last much longer, so you have more of a chance to dish out your damage as well. This is because the total damage pool of a dungeon is set on stone and someone doing considerably more damage means someone else is doing considerably less damage. Doing low damage in low keys basically only say that your reaction time and your dungeon pathing knowledge is low.

On the other hand, if you do low damage in higher keys, then there can only be 3 reasons: 1) Your items/stats aren't good, i.e., you have to stack mastery/critical but you stacked haste/vers, 2) you do not know your class, and 3) you do not know specific mechanics of the dungeon, i.e., where to press your defensive/offensive CDs. But you can't know or learn any of these, before starting these higher end (8 and above) dungeons.

I have hated almost every legacy character for a long time. They've sandblasted all the turmoil and ambiguity off them so now they're all these gray blobs of friendship and understanding.
It's why I actually liked Tyrande the last two expansions. She got some edge back and was fucking pissed. Then she had her tender moment with Shandris and Malf at the end of the last expansion to wrap it up.

Partially correct. You have to remember that any group content is by definition a group effort. Everybody together makes or breaks parses, keys and such.

Not really, paladins are really powerful right now in general. You should be good until extreme high end keys.

Most classes have several different builds with different play styles. For example for hunter, you can play survival AOE with both pack leader (PL) and sentinel (S). PL suffers less from constant movement but deals slightly less damage compared to S. However, S suffers quite a lot from constant movement. You can also setup your talents so that you can play both PL and S as fully AOE, fully single target (ST), or a mixture. It depends on the content you are doing. For example, in raids, some bosses don't have adds or alike, so you can just fully go for the ST build. In keys, I generally go for the AOE or mixture builds depending on the key I am doing.

tankbusters will just outright oneshot you from full health on a +12 if you forget to defensive cd it the second it hits - main example is first boss in CoT who chunks your health from the pull in and then starts up his tankbuster one second later
if you've messed up your cooldown usage or lose focus for just a few seconds, you're fucked and your group wipes
if the other people in the group die its just ok no biggie run back/brez but the tank is almost just as suspectible to dying as the rest of the team but their death is insantly key bricking

Just checked the prices on Amazon, though, and the damn things have spiked like a motherfucker. I got them for the equivalent of 40-50bucks. Now they're going for double to ten times that price. Christ.

New player experience is atrocious and even if you're a vet it's clunky. I really think every character should level in the current expansion whether it's a fresh level 1 or level 70 from DF or 60 from SL. They can absolutely figure out the xp scaling and curve so it's an even amount of time. Leveling is just an outdated mechanic for the game IMO, as much as I like learning a new class by starting from level 1
