flasks were changed countless times over the years, one of the biggest complaints people had was the piano spam.
it's why they added ingame automation to them, in poe 2 they just removed the middleman.

The new new system also strictly removes any utility flask from it like progenesis, oriath's end etc, because it's just "Trigger when ignited, remove ignite + immunity".
There is no more power or "trigger when full" stuff.

It will just be a way less cool part of PoE. It was an added layer of complexity to build making, it had its own chase items, it had its own crafting
None of that will exist. Basically they just removed flask system altogether, effectively. Its nothing to get excited about at all

i understand now, so the more your base damage increases through whatever method i choose to scale damage on the tree and gear, as will the 25% of proc damage of your ignite and that 25% is multiplied by the magnitude of your flame mana at the time of the proc. its basically taking your base scale and adding a multiplier of 25% at all times during your levelling and gaining new gear but the caviot is you damage flame damage everytime from flame mana being full then you need to keep in mind demon form being similar

life recovery and fire resistance is a must in this ascendency and class with these nodes it seems

But igniting is not a 100% chance
If igntie was 100% chance it would be a straight up 25% multiplier on all your damage (over 4 seconds)
And if you have ignite magnitutde statlines it would increase this 25% multiplier even more

because the new atlas gives us a progression system that is independent of map tier, they probably won't even care or notice, except to feel like content is too easy (because they're not alching maps). it's genius.

It's so bad players are openly mocking d4 and talking about poe constantly on the d4 forums. They are joking that season 7 is the season of poe. It's pretty funny but also sad, I don't want diablo to suck. Some of my best gaming memories are from diablo. The only reason people hate on blizzard so hard is because they know how good they can be. I just wish I could see blizzard at their best one more time.

A while back I posted my first character I got to endgame here. I made a minion focused witch since then so I figured I'd put her down here.

It went a lot better overall. I eventually learned that I should have all 75% resists, which I achieved. Now I'm trying to get a 6 link armor for my raging spirits, which are my main damage dealers. I can make it all the way up to tier 6, but I sometimes get oneshotted even in tier 4 maps if I'm not careful (those fucking ores are a bitch). I'll probably continue playing this to see how far I can get in endgame, but I kind of want to try a marauder. I looked up molten strike and it looks really fun to play as essentially a walking volcano man, but I may just wait next league for that. I also got the first blood starter pack, which I then used to get a currency and gem tab, which has proven to be a godsend. I don't know how I was playing without it.

Either way, its been a lot of fun. I haven't been using much guides besides the wiki, but I feel like I've gotten a lot better. This character is already leagues more powerful then my first. I also wanted to ask, how long do leagues typically last?

in theory 3-4 months. but most activity is in the first 6 weeks as people reach their satiety and stop playing as much or at all until next league (which keeps the game fresh).

power is fine, when the developers have a handle on the extent. take a look at d4 if you want to see multipliers go haywire.
games usually use logarithmic scaling to avoid damage becoming too high, much like diablo 2. damage increases fast at first but slows down the more you invest.

one thing thats not very obvious is that the base stats of armour items matters an incredible amount. if you have capped resistances and a decent amount of life and still die a lot, you might be using some godawful armour bases that give practically zero armour / evasion / energy shield. also make sure to get a high life roll on every item if possible

You have to do 40% of their maximum life with no interruptions to get their concentration to 0, and we have no idea what the difference between 100 and 0 is in terms of attacks. Cull is 5% more damage on bosses
Decimating Strike is 5-30% on bosses at random, it is between 10-35% more damage. 35% damage is okay but has the major problem of being front loaded when they say bosses get harder at low life.
Witchbane/No Mercy is 30% conditional extra damage if you can deal 40% of a bosses max life without interruptions. If they regenerate concentration during invuln phases or moves it is useless.

Even if you're using a wand for a curse then I don't see how that takes so many points and where you'd even be on the tree that would allow for curse effectiveness.
I want to emphasize I am talking about EARLY ACCESS in regards to weapon swapping. I think when there are way more weapons and skills in the game it is possible you could make better use of the system, but it is like there is only 1 or 2 weapons in each area at this point and the travel distance seems to be too great for anything not in the immediate area.

anon... I'm saying people are going to use two xbows, e.g. one with pure phys and one with elemental damage, so that when a map rolls something like FUCK YOU ALL MONSTERS GET +40% DR they can just use the bow and skill tree that matches their ele skills.

active skill slots aren't at much of a premium unless you get loads of spirit and stack passive buffs and triggers, so you can easily have 2x buffs 3x build A 3x build B 1x neutral skill.

in that situation the xbows don't need to be perfect, each just needs to be better for one build than the other is. it's an approach that is already incentivized in the campaign because there are bosses and monsters which roll native high resists you have to either penetrate or take longer over.

there is almost no +% mana on the tree and ES isn't that plentiful in the monk quadrant, so like Archmage its heavily gear-dependent.
my guess is that it only becomes good endgame, until then you're much better off going for mostly evasion. people are going to brick their characters trying to go into it too early.

d4 is multipliers everywhere, the advantage of this is that it feels better to progress because it's much easier to increase your dps by a subsequent number, but then again the monsters you face increase just as much when you bump up the difficulty.
i won't say there's a wrong approach to it, d4's progression feels better but leads to more imbalance and builds quickly being left in the dirt because they have the wrong multipliers.

I think archmage requires endgame gear but i dont think endgame will go full mana/int stacking either
From what ive seen mana recovery is total trash, i dont really think a fully decked out archmage setup can upkeep the mana costs without scaling down on the max mana. Just a guess tho

D4 level scaling was bad because it meant there couldn't be any difficulty spikes other than when you chose to raise the world tier yourself. you had to literally ignore items with green arrows to feel like the content was getting harder.

GGG aren't retarded so they intentionally make the early levels of their games rippier so we start feeling more powerful once we escape them.

That's the angle they're going for. Culling has always been associated with the phrase "culling the weak". It was the opposite in PoE because Slayer's 20% cull was way more useful against pinnacle bosses.

By the way the white and blue monsters aren't going to instantly explode from multiple screens away like they used to.

Never played PoE1 but I like the direction PoE2 is going with combining abilities and focusing a lot more on spacing and timing of your attacks. From what I've seen of PoE1, you basically just build around a single skill and use nothing but that.

Is it possible or viable to make a character that plays similar to PoE2 (combining multiple skills together, focusing more on tactics and positioning, etc)? I looked at a few of the skills and, for example, would it work to use frost wall to stop enemies from getting close to you while you fully charge flameblast? Or maybe using minions to distract enemies while you prepare some other slow attack. I'd really like to just play something where I cast a bunch of support abilities and then trigger a nuke.

well yes but it comes right after culling strike, you have to get the culling strike node to get to it and they synergize well together as the more effective health you take away the stronger the effective damage increase. We don't know how much culling strike threshold is reasonable to get. All we know is you can get 25% from a notable, I'd imagine the small passives before it are 10%, if you can get it on gear or runes it may be reasonable to get 100% increased threshold. We also just don't know what is considered a good or average damage multiplier for ascendancy nodes in PoE2.

That makes so little sense, i think i lost brain cells from it. You CANNOT generate charges so you WILL have to somehow generate charges on the boss. Also, the multistrike multiplies the damge by x4, i doubt you'd wanna use that skill at 25% efficiency, be it to clear or to boss. The ascendancy point will not save you from having to generate charges some other way.

Again we don't have a full sense of the power scaling in PoE2, it may seem weak compared to the power you get in PoE1 but it could be considered good in PoE2 when compared to other ascendancy points

The setup is a pain, but this doesn't seem that bad. In PoE1, that would be enough flicks for the flickening to stop because you cleared everything a screen away.

Sure just play the game and find out. Puncture+Split Arrow bleed, Wintertide Brand+Creeping Frost+Vaal Cold Snap, chaos dot (soulrend/blight/essence drain+contagion), then there's also manual warcry piano like with Earthshatter (pretty meta build too).
People just choose not to play these because it's a lot of effort to press it all the time for hundreds of horus.
