>>504422771>Titans are a bad mechanic because you have a single minion that can do 3 differents things and do one of them immediately, plus a bonus effect written on the card. It's just too much shit for a single card and impossible to balance, which is why titans are either useless or incredibly obnoxious. You'd need to change so much of the rest of the game to make them balanced (less copy effects, less removal so you get to use more than 1 ability...) it just doesn't work in modern Hearthstone.>Hearthstone already has a problem with cards that do too much at once and titans definitely don't help.and the mechanic itself is perfectly fine, you're complaining about the total package. They are not impossible to balance you could essentially call the warrior titan completely balanced which is why barely anyone uses as it's too fair.
Again the actual problem isn't the mechanic or the design it's that the effects do not allow any real counterplay. The two worst offenders are primus and nigger titan, due to needing a specific kind of removal or losing a large amount of resources. The next worst is aman'thul due to priests ability to generate more of them.
A big threat on the board is fine and requires a response, a threat that requires a specific response is where the balance problem stems from and a threat that has no counterplay (reproduction) is also not desirable.
Though the reproduction problem also applies to zilliax and reska respectively.
It has nothing to do with "how much they do" since for the most part they will do their 1 ability and then get mercd if you're not shit at the the game and entirely to do with the degree of the specific effect.
Flexible costly minions are perfectly fine.
