People bagged on the inherently dumb logistics of Garrosh's stupid time travel adventure but there's nothing within the context of WoD that was overly inconsistant with anything that came before or during that expansion. I just leveled a character through Draenor for the first time since WoD and I forgot how good the zones are. Shame Blizzard won't ever put the same amount of effort into their zones again but with the reception WoD got I get why they decided it's not worth it.

Horde can't be the black le evil faction and alliance the white le good faction, when Alliance invited literal demons that have been genociding everyone for over a millennia. It makes all the crimes the Forsaken or Orcs commit look small in comparison.

how come i feel so overwhelmed playing a warrior in tww despite also playing a warrior in classic? all the abilities are functionally the same or at least similar and yet i feel out of my league and have the sensation i have no idea what im doing. i fucking despise all of these gay ass 30-45 second cooldowns

I can't decide what I want to reroll. I main a frost/arcane mage and it was fun as hell for months and now it's pretty ass to play. It's not like they were super OP paladin-tier, but okay-ish enough to finally hold their own. I have a month off of medical leave and I want to take advantage of the exp bonus/anniversary while I can. I raid heroic and sometimes do mythic, but otherwise it's just m+ and heroic raids for me. Here's what I'm debating

teleport is one of the reasons why i find anything else so hard to play. pair that with engineering and you can quite literally go anywhere in a matter of seconds, it's awesome.

for professions i did alch + engineering just because of above, and because i like the increased flask time and being able to make my own shit. now granted this was pre-DF when professions weren't whatever the fuck they are now but overall it still works. i use a druid alt to farm herbs and shit.

as for mage tips i don't really have any. they're all kinda mid tier and they fucked them up pretty bad from launch. i hope they touch base on it again. i recommend just getting your 4 piece and picking a spec you like instead of going after FOTM. if you're doing frost i would ignore wowhead completely and do not do the death's chill build, it's so ass and makes your 4pc irrelevant

Once upon a time, the Stormwind Harbour was a place you could go to do actual RP. There'd be people chatting, there'd be stalls set up sometimes, it was a nice spot with a nice overview. Then it started to become infested with Shebull Draenei/Darkskinned Humans with nose-ring icons in their TRP.
The harbour became a place basically offlimits, and a lot of that extends to the Graveyard because that's apparently a great place to ERP in.
Lion's Rest was a nice, comfy little spot too, but recently it's just a fucking Dracthyr grindr spot for scalies and furfags to hook up. All the serious RPers who want to tell genuine stories left SW and went elsewhere and increasingly the server is becoming closed off into guilds and small communities because nobody wants to be around those sorts of people.

The PCU was a joke (is? idk, horde RP seems pretty dead nowadays) but ultimately ERPers do completely end up ruining parts of the server unless they're kept in containment, which used to be Goldshire but they've very much leaked out since unfortunately.
I don't personally have much of a problem with ERP, do it if you want, but don't shove it in your TRP and do it behind closed doors. Ideally on a different website or p-server altogether.

yeah, they always make the mistake of making these things prepatch only, in reality it should just be a set of gear you're given or can buy for cheap goldwise
MoP did this, you can get a set of adventurer's greens in the first or second town I'm pretty sure, it's worse than the quest gear but means you aren't fighting mobs designed for people with endgame gear of the last expac.
they also added it in MoP to Hyjal so you arent fighting the mobs with 4x more hp than in Northrend with your item level 170 gear (first quest dropped 272 if my autism memory is right)
It also lets them tune mobs to be more than one shottable for players who have geared up last expac without it being too hard for people who just dinged 70.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of whatever they've done to professions since DF
Like... if I bother with the more recent xpacs (DF, TWW) they both involve needing to earn Artisan's WhateverTheyreCallingItTheseDays and need to put points in specific trees and whatnot.

While it's interesting enough to me, I don't like that if I don't bother using alts at the same time as my main, they're just behind on that stuff. Like, I don't think there's much--if any--way to catchup for profs? I vaguely recall some currency/etc. stacks and you can trade with an alt for whatever if it's warbound, but... Gah. I'll suck it up and figure it out lol

have you taken the time to walk around the new zones on foot, one end to the other, since the expansion came out? they are actually quite impressive. but it feels like you just zip by it flying at 800% speed from objective to objective, you never get a chance to soak in the scale and the visuals.

have you ever actually walked into mereldar from the bottom of the grand staircase that leads into the city? taken a stroll on foot over and under the crisscrossing mine rails and foundry works of the ringing deeps? taken the foot path down the descent into azj kahet?

i dont think going full "lock flight behind some grindy achievment you dont get till the end of the xpac" is the answer, but maybe something like 14s aethercurrents that require you to explore each area on foot at least once.

i dont know. maybe wow players dont want that. maybe most dont give a shit anymore, everyone just wants to get into their 8 dungeon maze pushing repeats asap. but the more these expansions go on the more i feel like we've lost the journey along the way. you are shuttled so quickly into an endgame but once you get there its the most bare bones grind treadmill you can imagine with nothing but a rating to show for it.

parts of it were really cool, revendreth and ardenweald were high notes, parts of it were shit, it added some cool new characters but butchered others including several 30 year recurring characters final arcs. the main antagonist was a literal who thanos ripoff, the games second and third patch essentially destroyed wows afterlife lore and replaced it with deterministic robots.

that said, if you are just leveling and questing through it and dont have to actually utilize its brutal and sloggish grinds, then its not as bad as when it was current. visually it is a stunning expansion, wows art team pretty much ever since warlords of draenor has just been hitting home run after home run. its mostly the systems and story writers that have been dropping the ball.

Everyone was extremely skeptical of the lore and a bit sick of Sylvanus, but sentiment was high as the vibe looked pretty good

Peoples fears about the lore being butchered were confirmed, and diehard lorefags tried desperately to make sense of what was going on. Covenants were widely hated at this point since you could not easily switch and were often forced to be in a certain one due to the gameplay meta. Torghast was also hated because of changes made after beta that essentially made it incredibly slow and boring. M+ had a horrible kiting meta and a slew of awful affixes, but the new dungeons themselves were ok. Castle Nathria was beloved and remains one of the better raids to ever come out imo. S1 also went on for a long, LONG time with zero news about future content.

Complete despair on all fronts. Blizzard scandal is in full swing and 9.1 was a total flop. Korthia is a mess of awful dailies/world quests in the maw and a small area full of elites that made traveling around a nightmare. M+ was a bit better with some good balancing changes overall. Sanctum of Domination is a weirdly tuned raid where the 4th and 5th bosses were pure pug/guild killers, while the next bosses were comically easy, and then Sylvanus herself was long, boring, and had mechanics that the raid outplayed by simply stopping DPS. Domination Shards were the new player power, horrible RNG sockets that added 20-30% more DPS if you were lucky enough to get the right ones, unlucky players with no unholy shards found themselves at the bottom of the DPS meters by a fucking mile. Covenants and Torghast received a bunch of QoL fixes.
>S3&4
Zereth Mortis was a cool zone and I liked it alot. The lore continues to baffle everyone. Raid was ok and so was M+. Unfortunately so many people were just done with WoW by the time 9.2 came out that the entire patch is ignored and forgotten.

Im using Forge so I dont have the remacri one, I was using lanczos mostly but its results were bit wonky at times
after experimenting a bit esrgan4x-anime is somewhat better for traditional 2d as expected, but I think I prefer lanczos because it's a middleground between 3d/2d

It does take a bit to get into the fight but near the end of its duration is when you should be brining out your tyrant, which then extends the duration of it and your dogs who are getting a boost off the vilefiend, Then you will see the damage the two of them do.

the dawnbreaker dungeon i understand, the cultists and nerubians are well set up, but it feels like the whole priory situation comes completely out of left field, to the point that even the npc who's with you is like "why?", and then there's the whole light necromancers thing.

With power siphon and a couple shadowbolts you should be able to tyrant with your felguard, dogs, and vilefiend up. You wanna go into the fight with a couple of DB procs, so siphon. Get to 5 shards then pop felguard and vilefiend, dogs, and a couple hands. That should be able to give you about 8-9 imps on tyrant but you will have used your demons already for around 10 seconds, so the extra time with the tyrant boost then demonic strength after will give you good damage. After that manage your vilefiend and dogs so they will be ready for the next tyrant, you should have plenty of imps at that point.

If I ever could ask for one thing in WoW, I'd love if there was a little mini-scripted event at midday at the Stormwind Keep (or other cities) of a changing of the guard/review of the royal guard.
Imagine if General Hammond Clay rode his horse up to the keep, with a few columns of Royal Guards, with banners of the Alliance flying.
He inspects the guard, has a chance to call one out on their uniform or something.
Make this event have a chance for the Regent or in future maybe the King to review instead.
If you're present at the inspection you should get an 'Inspired' buff which increases your xp/rep gain by 10% for an hour or something.

I agree, game should have cool little things going on that make the world feel more lived in and real. Problem with giving these events real benefit is that players will optimize the fun and coolness out of it. You'll have websites like wowhead dedicated to tracking these events so that players can optimize their play. This would result in these events being just another way for players to pump up numbers instead of moments of immersion.

I haven't pugged one time this xpac since my guild does a lotta m+, but the new policy feels way too vague. What if it's a +12 and it becomes obvious there's no chance to time it? Not everyone is after a completion, some are just farming score. There should be no penalty for dropping then, because not everyone is playing for the same thing. Obv purposely griefing should be punished, but there needs to be some clarification here.

There's a small series of quests around the Braunpykes where it ends at the priory with the last boss showing up to go "come with me grieving brother I promise we'll go be fanatics" and then you investigate all the NPCs around acting fanatical. The meadery one is worse because there is literally no quest to make you aware of the events prior to entering the dungeon since it canonically takes place an undetermined amount of time after the campaign.
