There's no mass effect general here, but I guess this is the closest place to ask, what is the best advanced training skill to get on Soldier? Warp Ammo? Also is the collector AR the best one until some special one you get later one?

I know that but Templars have had incursions to Tevinter. The Circles have a presence in Antiva and Rivain. There are Templars in the Grey Wardens. Yet we see neither hide nor tail of them. It's almost as if the specific DAI ending where they were disbanded is now considered.

I think it has to be viewed in the context of their whole marketing push. The rebranding of the game to Veilguard and the first trailer released under the new title clearly meant to put the focus on the companions. Somebody had decided that the advertising would be carried on the back of the character gallery. And that was likely part of why the devs immediately went to talking up the party character dynamics and the colorful personalities and so on.

The widely poor response to everything about the Veilguard reveal may have taken them by surprise, and you can see some course correction in the marketing leading up to release. Compare the tone of the launch trailer to the reveal trailer. Everything from the visuals to the choice of music to the editing implies a much darker game than the one what they tried to market just months prior.

EA/BW marketing was just incredibly tone deaf.

To be fair you could quite easily explain that as city elves who haven't been raised to hate the dread wolf and suffer most oppression run to Solas while the Dalish who think he's Satan cling to their old gods. Religion on DA was peak.
One of my most DAO favorite runs was as a spiteful city elf finding faith during the ashes quest and doing the ultimate sacrifice as a desperate attempt to redeem himself for all the cruel and heartless choices he made during the journey.

Some you can buy, some are from quests eg a dragon skull is unlocked by completing the lords of fortune arena and some are unlocked by finding them eg the golden wolf is from unlocking the top of the lighthouse

I think the time travel In Hushed Whispers just drives me nuts that something as big as time magic gets introduced and nothing else comes from it. We even get Alexius' apprentice on our team but no more research into it (maybe a war table mission I'll admit I only pay attention like half of them). By doing Champions of the Just I can just avoid the whole thing. Also I think Cole's introduction works a lot better when you meet him in the Fade.

I like everything about the Templars. It's one of the few missions where the power mechanic felt decent since you are using the inquisitions growing power to summon the nobles to force the templars to so something. Cole guiding you through the Envy demon was well done and you learn about how/what/why the red templars are what they are. Learning about the Red Templars also syncs up very well with Cassandras later personal quest with the Lord Seeker which felt like a natural follow up. Calpernia was better than Samson since it gave so very much needed insight into Corypheus with the memories at the Shrine of Dumat and spying on their phone calls with the shard. Also if you care about loot one of the later patchs made fiona drop a really good tanking amulet at Haven.
