Are sunshine / galaxy really that good on Switch? I haven’t tried it yet but not having the pulse triggers for FLUDD sounds like it would be awful. On gamecube there wasnt just “weak” or “strong”, you could have the pressure be anywhere in-between. And adjust it with just how tightly you pressing the button. And Galaxy, using gyro for a cursor also sounds. Not sure how that works in portable mode which is how I play majority of the time.

Anonymous
>>503523929 I did not have trouble with the lack of pulse triggers, but that might be because I've played this game so many times across my life that I have pretty much all of it memorized.
Anonymous
>>503524579 >no trouble I mean, im sure the game is perfectly playable. But was it less fun having less control of FLUDD? Im thinking also of bosses and enemies, i would no longer be able to adjust the pressure to attack them in the right spot. I would need to stand in the perfect stop for weak or strong button to it. Just sounds awful

Quoted By:
>>503523929 >I haven’t tried it yet but not having the pulse triggers for FLUDD sounds like it would be awful. I prefer the GCN controller still but it actually makes spam spraying 10x easier and less exhausting since you're not required to pull the trigger down all the way which I find it be a lot better. That being said there is a bit of nuanced lost with the lack of the analog triggers like you speculated, imagine trying to do Sirena Beach's puzzle shit (without clipping) and the doors with full sprays, a little annoying. You also have less control over when the rocket nozzle will go off since you can't slow the charge up. It's very much playable but things like this did irk me, also an odd choice of making the button to talk to NPCs be the jump button instead of the B button. One last negative thing to note is them lazily editing out FLUDD saying which button to press in the tutorial cutscenes. You can use the GCN adapter though to use the original controller (it even makes NPC thing the B button again), it's what I did and I think it's one of the best ways of playing Sunshine due to the widescreen support and it's actually less graphically buggy than Dolphin which I find not many acknowledge.

Im listening to Symphony of the Night's soundtrack again and for some reason I think Peach wouldnt be too out of place in a setup similar to SoNT, at least artistically speaking. Some tracks and places feel quite regal and eccentric with a touch of fantasy and dream, it makes me wonder what would be of a game that explores the "royal" aspect of Peach while adhering to those tropes and without going full "Disney-Princess-core" like -I assume- Showtime did. Luigi's Mansion had a treatment like it, putting Luigi in enriching themes and magical sceneries that move away from the standard Nintendo vibe... I want to see Peach have it too. Then again, wouldnt expect this from Good-Feel...

>>503529315 Art's pretty difficult, and it's easy to get overwhelmed by all the millions of tutorials out there. Unfortunately, there's no quick way to learn anything, but don't let that discourage you. I'd recommend just getting a feel for the pencil first. Fill a page with circles and squares so you can learn to draw curves and straights, then maybe dedicate another page to something like line weight, etc. There's not really any set rules on what you should start with, but trying to jump right in to drawing fully detailed stuff is a great way to burn yourself out, so start simple and work at a pace that's most comfortable for you. Also, don't expect to master anything right away. No one ever does.
>t. someone still struggling after years I'd suggest checking out /ic/ for art books and other free tutorials. Having art from artists you would like to emulate can also be good for inspiration. Best of luck!

/lozg/ is still dead and I just finished ALBW. Great, now I have no place to talk about it. Got a question, is it REALLY that big of a deal we have the occasional offtopic about other Nintendo games we play? I know one or two idiots gets pissy about offtopics, but is it better to leave offtopics out even if they are brief? Cause I like bringing up about the games I play and the general normally doesnt get derailed out of control due to offtopics (unless its dramafagging), so I figured I could just ramble for a bit about some Non-Mario. Screw it. About A Link Between Worlds... I honestly didn't expect to get so fond to the game as I did. Visuals were beyond charming (way better stylization than the newer games), music was magical, gameplay was engaging and fun all over (albeit piss easy, didn't Game Over'd once), puzzles and exploration was straightforward (save for Ice Ruins), and the story was very touching, specially at the very end.
I hold that ALBW has nothing to envy from ALTTP, cause both have wonders of their own and maintain the "pick up and play" feel that makes Zelda so charming for me (when most games tend to drag on for ages). ALBW is debating the title of my "most favorite Zelda" for me both in title (against ALTTP) and... Princess Zelda (I like my ST Zelda, but ALBW Zelda is objectively the cutest she's ever been).

I am playing through the classic Sonics right now and the highest praise I can give the series is I would rather play Sonic 2 than either version of Mario 2. Sonic 1 is easily the weakest first entry of all the big-name 2D platformer series. The Sonic 3 portion of 3&K isn't quite as good as Sonic 2, but the & Knuckles half is actually pretty good and might elevate the package to the most respectable of the Sonics and a top class platformer, but SMB3 is still the king. The idea that Mario and Sonic were ever "rivals" was a marketing stunt that only becomes more laughable the more time passes since those days.

Those movies are entirely carried by the involvement of legendary fanartist Tyson Hesse who fluffs up the games representation however he can while the suits let him do it because he saved the franchise with the Sonic redesign. These touches are never more significant than setpieces, however. The movies are fundamentally full of shit nobody asked for or bought tickets to see because they can't afford as much of the Sonic cast as they should be able to, due to the asinine live-action direction.
The Sonic OVA is the best video game movie, though, I'll grant you, and the 1993 Mario movie is a better movie than the 2023 one, even though it's a worse adaptation of the games.

>>503628070 I like it, it's a pure fantasy adventure, like The Wizard of Oz with Mario. The ending aged worse than just about anything ever could, but taken as a product of its time, it works. Mario's motivation for the whole journey was his shallow and presumptuous infatuation with the princess, and in the end, he learns to be noble and step aside. It still sucks ass because we know how cruel it seems with hindsight, but as far as the people who made the movie were aware, the Mushroom Kingdom and its denizens were never going to be seen again, and Mario's next adventure would be something else entirely. It's otherwise a good adaptation of SMB1, silly meta humor aside.
>>503628375 The DK stuff was the best part of it but I really enjoyed the whole thing. The beginning is genuinely strong. The montage of arriving to the Jungle Kingdom was the most rushed it felt, and they really needed more breathers and character moments throughout, but we know the screenplay was essentially gutted to meet Illumination's 90-minute mandate. Sing 2's director fought for more screentime and got it, and I hope this sequel will be longer and better paced, too. If it just had even 10 more minutes I think a lot of complaints about it would have been resolved. If you want a movie that actually is way too fucking fast from start to finish, see Godzilla vs. Kong, which somehow scored much, much higher with critics despite having the same flaws to a much worse degree.

>Yes in an obvious AU Movie, >Though you've been pushing this whole time that there's only one Mario. So why are you saying that there's two? Pick a side. Is there only one Mario or multiple Marios? Miyamoto only said that it was always the same Mario. So if it's always the same Mario then the movie Mario has to be canon. But if it's not always the same Mario, then you're going to run into problems. It's an AU Mario Movie.
It was a Game interview for Link and Mario, that means Miyamoto was only referring to the games. Your cope attempts get more pathetic every time, kek.

I don't like playing Yoshi's Island all that much anymore. It's like an anti-platformer. So fucking slow, and the autoscrollers are even slower somehow. I hate constantly stopping to throw eggs.
