The FGC has a complex towards Smash/Platformers but those games have more fidelity to fightan game skill than Tekken. The fact Tekken is considered one of the big 3 of the FGC by the oldheads is a joke, that game is not competitive or skillful at all.

If SF6 was good, there wouldn't be schizos on all sides fighting each other on 4chan over it. People would just be talking about the game or playing it. But its so bad that its fun to clown on it, which leads people to want to ironically defend it and be contrarian.

It's kind of sad overall though. Jive was bad due to incompetence, SF6 is intentionally and carefully designed to be shit.

They didn't do that for MH though. They chose to count Iceborne as a separate game. And in SF4 and SF2, they also have the various editions as separate entries. I think Capcom really wanted a nice high number for SFV. Doesn't matter. I just think people should realize why SFV stands at almost 8 million copies.

You cannot remove the system from its own game.
They will revamp it like Super SF6'' Turbo with all the DLC included and lots of art changes in the menus and HUD.

I think the very obvious solution for that here is a Switch 2 version. Synergizes well with the games popularity in Japan too, which is still extremely Nintendo dominated.

Why exactly is the loss of a normal or 2 more impactful than the benefit of various macro inputs like a one button dp? In theory it seems like it wouldn't be the case but empirical it is the case but why is that the case? For instance, I remember Punk saying on stream awhile back that Modern Cammy is garbage solely due to her missing crouching medium punch, he seemed to put zero stock in that M Cammy got a one button dive kick, dp, spiral arrow, palm, & lvl 3 and based on results we have from high level play, Punk doesn't appear to be wrong in his judgement.

But even as I express agreement with Punk's conclusion, it feels wrong to me. Like how can one normal have so much value over like 5 different macro inputs, what am I missing about how fighting games work on a fundamental level that explains why this is the case, because it's not making sense to me intellectually.

On paper Modern just doesn't seem like it should be as irrelevant as it is as high level yet here we are...C Cammy has placings & tournament wins since the game launch whereas Modern Cammy has zero results anywhere at any time during the games life and the only real difference according to Punk is cr.mp. That's all it took? I can't wrap my head around it.

25% of the playerbase uses them and based on core-a-games streams I have been catching lately, Modern seems almost as popular as Classic in Japan, atleast in the 1400-1600mr range. Watching Chris g dominant the west coast in rank of late has convinced me that we may still be in the dark when it comes to Modern. You have to understand Punk is speaking from theory when he says M Cammy is trash not from actual experience playing the char against the best comp and more importantly Punks theory is derived from years of experience with command inputs, he may not easily be able to quantify the utility of shortcuts like he can with the fg elements he is use too like damage output & normals.

And it's not just Punk. Our whole class of top players have a blind spot. It's far easier for someone in Classic to understand how it would feel to lose x button vs being giving a one button macro. This is why i'm worried that Nakayama may mistakenly buff Modern even though it's equal to Classic but we just didn't know it because the players who have the skill to bring out it's full potential like Chris g never used it.

I mean Nephew was literally caught by surprised by a random, mid level player on Modern Manon in Japan. Now what if it wasn't a mid level player piloting that character but someone on the same skill level as Nephew. Remember, Nephew beat the shit out of Idom so bad he started using his rusty ass JP for the MU and he was put into losers by a Manon that doesn't have access to cr.mp. Nothing is settled when it comes to Modern vs Classic imo.

Dominating is implying I said Modern is superior to Classic when what i'm saying is they're relatively equal or atleast it isn't settled that they aren't. Chris g is like the perfect test case since he plays so many chars on Classic you can really see if it is the case if Modern holds ppl back. At the very least, it's way too early to start doing sweeping buffs to Modern though I know Nakayama will probably pull the buff trigger when he sees no Modern at capcom cup.

It's true. Chun-Li's combos are very drive hungry, even one bar of drive is precious. Hell, the game is all about drive, it's more important than the health bar. And people at high rank can PP a slow fireball somewhat consistently. So if I'm going to commit and use one bar of drive raw or behind a fireball, it's going to pressure my opponent and put him in burnout.

I have worked with tech while doing college, and honestly, that PC is not something you should give to a costumer

Clients are tech illiterate idiots, they won't look at this PC and think "wow, that's a great power supply, nice cooler, good GPU. They will look at it and say "where are the leds, why are the cables all messy, what the fuck is all this dust on this black box with letters"

When mounting a PC for a client, you should let everything crisp, clean, organized, all the cables through the back, hide any HDDs because even though they're better for long term storage they're ugly to look at, maybe even wire some leds in the casing.

Arturo is obviously not a professional, just the a guy that got into PCs later in life, so shame on those people to call a non-professional expecting for a professional job.

I initially mained Vega in 5 and dropped him for Birdie because I just couldn't play a char with anti airs that bad it's the single worst weakness to have.

As someone whose main game is Smash and I'm just a shitter with 2 characters in Masters I never could really adapt to AA'ing in this game.
In Smash You can use your movement to whiff punish it, shield, or even trade with another aerial depending on your character. You got different options and different punish styles depending on who you fighting and who you playing, but it always feels like you gotta a choice.
In SF you got way less options and is heavily character dependant. Bad game design for me.

This, Ed is broken but you have to disrespect Eds that abuse flickergooning. Either with DI or jumping. Flicker is bullshit but you can't just let Ed crouching heavy kick into charged flicker or whatever and let him get away with it. I literally sit there and charge flicker until my opponent can prove to me they'll stop respecting it and 80% of the time they never stop me. I'm at 1750ish MR and only now do people not let me do whatever. Better Eds will absolutely abuse other things that make him broken (meter abuse, level 2 combos, cheat buttons) but the flicker itself has a lot of gaps the way most Eds use it

Unless the gams you playing already ended its cycle, a real fighting game should have at very least bare minimum 3 balance patches per year to change up the meta and force people to adapt/reward players who can learn new strats/characters and not 1 trick ponies.

Still disagree. 12 months mean you can have 4 months each of a big patch. That is enough time to most people hone and refine their skills while giving them enough time to also not become too obsolete/comfortable with not learning new things.
Maybe 2 big patches. But that would only be ok if it had a pretty huge roster, not in the case of SF6.
1 patch a year policy failed, and keeps failing, miserably.

The entire point of playing a game on current live service is to experience the meta changing.
Sure, a game already finished can have its meta be expanded even without patches, but thats because everyone has already been playing for 5k hours and since theres no more patches, everyone already knows what to commit and what to expect from the game.
A game on live service taking only 1 big patch a year is terrible for many reasons. If a patch is bad it leaves a sour taste in the mouth for way too long, and no matter how good someone is, at the early years of any game, people will always be scrubby compared to the later endgame. So having more room for different metas and experimentation is also more fun at this point.
