I used to do this with Magic: The Gathering. Loved the game, didn't care at all about the collecting aspect (which in hindsight lost me a lot of money) so I'd just immediately sell off all the cards I'd pull in a draft + what I won to fund my next go around.

You did not understand the question, anon. Ken after level 3 can only meaty with DR into medium, or with EX Hadouken. Anything else can be mashed. So if you're at sliver health or at sliver meter, they won't DR into medium, they will just toss a EX Hadouken to safely kill you/burn you out. Some characters can punish that with level 3 though

The question is, if you're on that position, do you level 3 and survive, but now have to endure like 15 seconds of trying to survive, while Ken can basically kill you with DR into EX DP, or do you just give up?

The first step to break free from this cycle is to understand this pattern.

SFV was made with a shoestring budget when Capcom was circling the drain. If they didnt make it at all the franchise wouldve probably been gone by now.
Despite the rough start the game made money down the line and kept the whole capcom cup infrastructure alive. For that the suits, specifically the son of the capcom boss and guy in charge of MH, gave them another shot at it with proper funding.

I dont like what they did with SF6 at all but ignoring the circumstances going into SF5 and 6 is retarded. As if that fat fuck told the devs to make the game not run well at launch. Moronic.

The problem is that hurtboxes can completely warp and suddenly change distance depending on what normal they press, which is why DR is basically a fullscreen random mix up that cannot be countered consistently. They could fix it but adding a big forward facing hurtbox during DR but they won't because they're never going to fix this shitty random game.

I think other characters with drive rushable buttons are fine but I don't know. What bothers me is that the nerfs they gave to DJ were warranted (IE his ridiculous damage, knee being such a good air option) .....but then they release Akuma and Bison, who both have all the traits that made DJ so strong on top of having way more tools + having a way more generically cancellable set of normals. But I guess 9k and no reversal lol. Like I'm not a schizo about this stuff usually but Akuma and Dictator feel purposely overpowered because they cost money and are popular.

No they don't. Modern hasn't been remotely relevant in tournaments for over a year now and outside of Japan, there is maybe 5 to 10 players at the 1700mr+ level globally. So top players literally only experience Modern when they visit Japan and play rank over there, other than that, its simply not apart of their game experience, let alone something they'd complain about.

It's really only gold and plat shitter that piss and moan about Modern and it's typically out of protecting their bruised ego rather than Modern being a design issue.

1700mr+, even this early on in the reset is well over a thousand people. I agree that in top level non-japanese its non-existent but theres definitely people in ranked who use it (obviously significantly less than in japan).

Weird that SF6 didn't get a PS5 Pro update. Not that I give a shit about that flop of a console, but it would've been a nice time to introduce some updates and fixes to the game for the PC version, like contact shadows, Subsurface Scattering and improved input lag.

If you look at games like Street Fighter Alpha, Alpha 2, and Alpha 3, they sold very well. And as you already know, they had familiar characters like Zangief, Blanka, and E. Honda that the fans really wanted to see. Just having those legendary Street Fighter 2 characters was enough for those games to sell very well. But because Street Fighter 3 had started out as an entirely different game, they had a totally new cast of characters, which nobody liked. The problem was that the characters had very uninspired designs, and I would say they were quite strange in comparison. If you think about the fact that we moved on to the CPS-3 arcade hardware for this game, I think people wanted to see Vega, E. Honda, etc. created on that new hardware with the technology it offered.
