Morrigan: So have you changed your mind, Sten? I dream about you and I, if you must know.
Sten: You would, even were I interested in a small thing like you. The Qunari act is… unpleasant.
Morrigan: Unpleasant? Unpleasant how? Now I really am interested.
Sten: Deadly.
Morrigan: And what if I didn't mind? I enjoy a little… animation.
Sten: You'd be less animated afterward.
Morrigan: It sounds as if I am arousing your passions already, my dear Sten.
Sten: Parshaara. Why do you pester me?
Morrigan: (Chuckles) Because 'tis amusing, that is why.
Morrigan: You seem so deep in thought, my dear Sten. Thinking of me, perhaps? The two of us, together at last?
Sten: Yes.
Morrigan: I… what did you say?
Sten: You will need armor, I think. And a helmet. And something to bite down on. How strong are human teeth?
Morrigan: How strong are my teeth?
Sten: Qunari teeth can bite through leather, wood, even metal given time. Which reminds me, I may try to nuzzle.
Morrigan: Nuzzle?
Sten: If that happens, you'll need an iron pry bar. Heat it in a fire, first, or it may not get my attention.
Morrigan: Perhaps it would be better if we did not proceed.
Sten: Are you certain? If it will satisfy your curiosity…
Morrigan: Yes. Yes, I think it is best.

>The Qunari in charge of the Antaam in this area. Used to be a military officer, but when the Antaam went rogue, he became something like a warlord of cult leader. A powerful warrior with a booming voice. He should sound like the paragon of big dangerous evil masculinity, and he makes his warriors go through painful rituals to prove their devotion. He's strong, blunt, and devoid of mercy or empathy. Will likely kill anyone he doesn't see as useful or entertaining to him. Basically, a bad guy doing his evil bad guy best. So we got people like Andraste (leading a war and being betrayed), Tyrrda (leading a war), Flemeth (betrayed as well). Andraste was probably 100% sure she was hearing the Maker, it's heavily implied she was a mage who lost controls of her powers, accidentally killing her half-sister and having health problems all her life, while Flemeth was clearly told what she needed to do.

Anonymous
>>502847731 It makes no sense, yeah, but Gaider confirmed the Black City was always supposed to be the elven god's prison, ever since DAO's conception. I guess he had planned for the reveal to go differently, while the new devs just wanted to confirm this years-long fan theory without wasting too much time explaining how it worked. We know the gods were "slumbering", "sleeping", while in there, so perhaps they could only communicate with the sidereal magisters in dreams; when they reached the Black City, the humans got blighted so quickly they didn't have time to look around and find the elven gods.

It's confirmed in Veilguard, Harding even has a small crisis over it because it means the Chant of Light is basically meaningless and she doesn't know what to tell her mother. Solas says it was an elven castle into which he trapped the Evanuris with the entirety of the Blight, and only a small portion of it trickled out when the magisters from Tevinter entered it.
>>502849024 He was trying to move the gods from the Black City into the "regret prison" because the Black City was becoming unstable. >>502849560 >What's even more impressive, or exciting, is that back then he also envisaged a potential end state for the entire Dragon Age series - a point at which it would make no sense for the series to carry on. "I always had this dream of where it would all end, the very last plot," he says, "which I won't say because who knows, we could still end up there. But the idea that this uber-plot was this sort of biggest, finite... That the final thing you could do in this world that would break it was there as a 'maybe we would get to do that one day'... There was just the idea of certain big, world-shaking things that were seeded in that arc, some of which have already come to pass, like the return of Fen'Harel." Oh so Bioware did pretty much intend for this to be the DA finale then. Nuking the setting wasn't accidental.
Anonymous
>>502850048 The nuking of the world might have been more accepted if it wasn’t off screen. Narratively a new age following what happens after Veilguard is a logical idea. The dragon age is over but the “x age” is dealing with this fallout. Though it still leaves me feeling pissed off. The south for DAfans means a lot esoeciallt Fereldan and to have it reduced to ground zero with all our characters and locations wiped away is shit.

Will we crack the big mysteries of the world and just make them answered finally? And does that ruin one of the central precepts that Dragon Age is founded upon? Maybe," he says. >"Ultimately, that lore, when you make it big and you hint at it and hint at it and hint at it, it becomes a Chekhov's Gun of sorts. Eventually you got to pony up." And that's exactly it. There's no more room for doubt. Everything is known and everything is elves. Elves created the Blight, elves fucked up the dwarves, elves fucked themselves up, elves, elves, elves. The Maker isn't technically disproven, but Andraste is heavily hinted to be yet another Mythal fragment or whatever this game calls it.

So Veilguard's pretty damn good if you consider it as the standalone reboot it is. With the death of Keep and world states, do you think Bioware will actually give a shit about any of these decisions made in this game though? That is, if we even get another Dragon Age.

>>502831784 Issues in DA are superficial mostly. Over using same areas. Having to run back and forth. Enemies appearing in thin air. how some areas look. Overusing same assets.
This all make game incredibly booring really quickly. Writing and companions are good. But game just gets too stale.
Game could have benefit from not having it take place in same areas whole time.
If act 1 was dust town. Slums. Quick visit to docks and low town. Once visiting high town for chantry. And it would be off limit for you otherwise.
Act 2 then take place in low town. Docks. More visit to high town and gallows.
Act 3 for whole town. Free access to gallows, high town.
Then each Act would have unique outside of city areas. And your place of residency would be dependent on Act. In Act 1 I would be in dust town. In Act 2 hanged man. Act 3 in hawk estate. You would see progression through out the whole game.

I just realized the only time we actually GET INTO Minrathous is during the beginning and end of the game, and both times the city is getting destroyed. We spent most of our time in Tevinter in fucking dock town. Quite literally the excitement for Dragon Age after Inquisition is that we fucking finally visit Tevinter and see how fucking ass backwards it is compared to the culture in Ferelden and not single bit of that was touched at all in the entirety of Veilguard.

What "real necromancy" is depends entierly on the setting.
If you go by the greek origin of the concept nekromantia is the "divinition though the dead" like throwing knucklebones or reading in entrails, so if you want to be anal about it the Thedas-Version of Necromancy and the communion with spirits through the dead is closer than most other settings so far.
