There is a camp of people who believe that Fors special moves are useless but that his normals are really good. He might personally find more success in not using the specials. If you're dropping smoke and inhaling smoke, or if you're cloning in "neutral", then you're not hitting the opponent.

the devs definitely should've invested in better in-game onboarding. I know they didn't have time and they tried their best with the video guide series and the wiki, but they probably didn't anticipate this many NEW eyes on the game. as in, people who have never played a smash game sorts of new.

in rivals 1's case though, it had the benefit of being relatively unknown for a long time and getting the opportunity to cook in early access for years. didn't have much of a consumer base to scrutinize it heavily because most of its consumer base came after it had time to implement all of its quality of life features and casual gamemodes. maybe when r2 gets a definitive edition the rating will increase.

I need to watch more Rivals 2 Fors but I remember in Rivals 1 one of his strongest aspects was forcing momentary confusion/coinflips. Idk if he still does that since his smoke and clone are a bit laggier though the game in general is a tad slower so maybe that doesnt matter.

Yeah I was reading Pikmon's thoughts in the Fors discord. He said he basically only likes to smoke at round start and after the opponent gets KO'd. You can also watch in his play he's content to just sit on 3 stacks and wait for opportunities to use combust. He's obviously a way better player than me, but I still just think that's wrong. You should be looking to set up smoke any time the opportunity presents itself and holding onto 3 stacks like it's a Samus charge shot seems pants on head retarded. People don't give a fuck and aren't scared of the combust or that your recovery gets buffed. You could be deceiving, but you're doing nothing. I think Fors players still need more time theory crafting and really thinking about their character. You have to remember he's only a month old while all the other characters have had a year of development.

Zetter has to work hard for relatively little reward. Compared to the guaranteed shit other characters can do at low %, on top of actually having a weakness in his recovery, he doesn't meet the bullshit factor that works best in this game.
That said I saw this one full agro Zetter that was really good, but I'm not betting shit in how this game is going to evolve.

Wrastor isn't really supposed to a fun character to dick around on. He's for tryhards who sit in the lab and meticulously grind combo flowcharts and study optimal combo strings on every type of DI situation and what part of your hitbox landed. If you don't know these flowcharts you're gonna just keep hitting the opponent over and over aimlessly and end up having to kill at 150-200% with a strong nair over and over. There's a reason basically nobody bothers playing this character, it's because he's such a bitch to get into. He's like Clairen minus the brain dead throw game and easy high percent kill moves like tipper fair, nair, up air and her smash attacks.

Fine by me. Neutral isn't even bad. You can toss magma and coax them into approaching then catch them up in the Lox blender with tilts and jab and regrabbing with the side special. As far as just getting damage and playing neutral he feels competitive with the rest of the cast. Problem is trying to finish stocks winds up feeling like playing Ultimate and that makes me want to end my life with a lawnmower.

Melee actually looked really good for it's time, and once you get used to the lack of an input buffer it plays smoother than any fighting game I've ever played. I think the graphics hold up pretty well, and the sound design and OST is top notch. It has all the trophies and a really sick single player mode. You should try it again if you haven't recently, compared to Rivals 2 it's actually pretty good.

Ludwig is a super big streamer with even bigger hair. He's basically like if Mr. Beast was more down to earth and fatherly. He's really rich and so he started a company to get even more rich and that company is called offbrand games. Offbrand published Rivals 2 and basically helped them get it sold really quickly so the studio can start selling skins. It's important to start selling the game now so that they can sell the game during the holiday season, after that people dont really buy games. That kind of explains why a lot of the game is unfinished but they are gonna finish it eventually. I trust Ludwig and Dan like they were my brother and I know they would never just sell a broken game and not fix it. It's gonna be a really good game once they finish it so don't worry, you can stop playing smelee and try a good game once they're done.

after forward throw, if they DI in you can go for a downsmash or an arial

upthrow goes into up air but if they DI bad you can also down air them with the front hitbox to throw them away

back throw doesnt guarantee a back air, but it can set up back air quite nicely. no clue about down throw to be honest, i dont use it much
