Can someone please explain to me the purpose of rangefinders outside of naval? Why would I ever:

Well you see the anything above say 9.3 sometimes 9.7 needs to have a button that allows people to engage in 1/2 a second at any range as fast as possible. This is also why Sinai got raped into oblivion by red ((((((((( zones so people couldn't sit on the high ground and cheese the entire map and now it went from one of the better maps to one of the worst in a single update.

the problem with Japan is that despite having a solid line up at 9.0, you'll feel miserable regardless because every game is an uptier, if you want top tier quickly, you HAVE to premium time and some premium vehicle, with that being said, 6.3/6.7 is very fun for Japan.

Without premium vehicles but time it will take you about a day (4 hours per day) to reach tier 2. Another 2 days to reach tier 3. A week to reach tier 4. Two weeks to tier 5. A month to tier 6 and another 3 months to get the TKX/Type 10 and Type 81c.
Japan also doesn't have the best ground premiums. You can get something like the Chi-Ha Short Gun or the Chi-Nu-II. Which will shave 1-2 weeks off your time.
The Type 74c and Type 16 look good on paper but that line up is a bit strained.
If you want to spend money the biggest time saver would be a talisman on the TKX Prototype.

It's an over tiered Type 74, in the pain zone of BR 9.0(guaranteed up tiers) with gen 1 thermals.

I like it a lot, with the penumatic suspension you can exploit very steep ridges and snipe from very unlikely positions, but like i said, the 9.3 br is really finnicky, and even though its got a solid lineup, i'd rather save the money for the Fuji, simply because you'll get more value out of it in the long run.

It depends on who else queues into a match. Say everyone else will be playing 1.7 vehicles. So they all go up and fight against you having a 2.7 vehicle. There are some BR brackets that are more likely to downtier or uptier, depending on nations and what vehicles do the nations have.
In the end, it doesn't matter that much. Play what you want. Your 2.3 vehicle would likely be as effective fighting a 3.3 vehicle as 3.7.

You're still better off using an F-16 for CAS at top tier. The Kh38 is a better missile, but the total package is worse since the Su-25 is so shit. It doesn't even have a thermal pod that can look in one direction while the plane flies in another.

It took me about a month of semi-regular play using the Chi-Nu II and Type 74G to make it to the Type 90 back when it was THE top tier tank for Japan.
Probably take longer than that now even with premiums, and double or triple that without premiums.
The biggest problem is that once you reach about 7.3 you have a very limited number of vehicles to put in a lineup until 8.7.

this is the super short version but my dads friends were all literally the 1%. His top 5 friends had a combined wealth of like three billion dollars. My dad felt threatened by that so he aalways tried to posture like we were doing really well to keep up appearances to his friends.
I had to eat top ramen for 6 months because we bought a 42" 720p flatscreen in the mid 2000's so my dad could show it off to his friends at a party.

the don that my parent used to work for kinda got pissed off that my parent tried to cut the tie and break off from him, but it was more of his fault since he already been trying get his kids to replace them first. I was so bewildered by the sheer impossibility of the death that I left the game and switched to the M26 to see if I could replicate that same kill.
Not only could I, but when I went back to the IS-4 someone else was complaining about the same type of death happening to him. Though I think he was playing a different nation altogether. Did they update their already awful ballistics again?

GNSS is satellite guided, it will (try to) hit the position your sight was pointed at when you dropped the bomb. Laser guided will go for whatever the laser is pointing at and will miss if it loses track of the laser.
