ALWAYS take HE. Use AP as a disabling shot on open tops and finish off with HE. It's also invaluable for taking out light/no armored vehicles hiding behind cover. I've killed countless light vehicles that thought they were safe until I popped them with an HE round to a track, top MG, or even the ground next to them. It's worth the guaranteed kill rather than praying RNG doesn't fuck your follow up AP shots.

depends
if it's a score/crafting event, then you can "play" it in the normal matchmaking, you just have to satisfy the conditions
usually it is vehicles over rank III with higher rank ones getting better score multipliers. You can find the specific tasks in the challengers/tasks/missions/whatever the screen that tracks that stuff is called (the one that also has the pages of history listed)
as for the meme events (like the current one) with separate matchmakers, you have to click on events and tournaments, and there you can find the special matchmaker (this current event also has a special task to keep track of your score/ticket)

It has less flat pen, but better angled pen than the MK 1 so effectively it is about the same. Vickers maxxing is the way to go here, Olifant just plays like a slower leo 1 imo

because there comes a time where you realize win/loss gives you about the same amount of rewards so there's no need to risk your neck, and personal performance aka playing it safe farming kills gets you the most bang for your buck
the people running around like headless chickens thinking objectives are the way to grind are usually people that started to play recently or havent but are stuck with a weird outdated mentality, and are generally bad
camping is the way to go, even moreso at high tier with thermals and drones and helicopters making things easier to spot and find

everything maxed you're looking at a correctly balanced ~$1500 build for something that'll run at 200+ fps at 1440p with your gaytracing and other mega taxing settings
if you want to just play on the "max" preset, I built a ~$800 a770 + 12600kf rig that runs it from 140 to 200 fps at 1440p but that's with an iffy intel card

i think i should clarify, i can confidently say i won't play anything besides war thunder or the odd retro (pre 2010s) vidya so i don't need to go overkill on it
i just don't want the game to look like ass, and yes i know it's a heavily modified 2009 game engine refurbished every 4 years to make it seem modern but still able to be played by 3rd world russian pcs

Every fucking time I spawn something like a Falcon or Gepard the ENTIRE enemy team is heavies and MBTs who play safe as fuck and refuse to be flanked. No helis or CAS either of course. Compared to spawning first in any lightly armored vehicle and I face nothing but 30+ mm SPAA and get turned to atoms instantly.

Honestly just play the same blatantly undertiered vehicles over and over for an entire session. The nukes I've gotten have definitely been somewhat luck based and aided by good vehicles but more than anything I attribute them to just getting in the fucking zone and not thinking about my actions. Being quick is better than being good a lot more often than you'd think.

some m&kb controls questions if anyone knows

1) in air mode when i press LALT to track the selected enemy with camera, it opens chat and gives me a cursor, which disables my controls. is there any way to disable that? i found nothing in controls anywhere.
2) also in air mode, sometimes (rarely) my camera randomly zooms in and there is nothing i can do to zoom it out... what could be causing that? i looked through every camera setting, and i can't reproduce it
3) is there any way to turn off the smoothing/interpolation on free-camera-look in air mode? it takes so long to look behind my plane then forward again. ofc i tried turning down all smoothing settings etc but it seems to only affect controller

Is it safe to assume that Russia will get the Tor when the BRs are decompressed enough that it and the Pansir are sufficiently far away from each other? The options you're looking for are under "Common", just select that tab then search for 'mouse' and you should see "Show Mouse Cursor" (your first problem) and options for mouse smoothing and mouse camera look sensitivity.

As for the second problem, check what you have bound to zoom (also under common)

lol. Il-2 GB is not your answer. The way HE is simulated is just a big explosion. You can get shot in the left wingtip with a single 131 round and all your control surfaces on both wings can get blown off. Meanwhile, they don't have API for US planes. AP damage to planes causes little to no aerodynamic damage to German planes. You can hammer a 109 with 1-2 seconds of sustained fire and if you don't hit their engine, they'll be able to out turn you all the same as if you didn't shoot them at all. I've actually had both of the above happen to me at the same time and I've never been more angry at a game.

There was something about models for BTR-82A and BTR-82AT appearing in the files
BTR-82A is basically a BTR-80A with a stabiliser. Possibly thermals (depending on BR) and maybe also additional armor.

Just turn away from them lmao. Their radar only has headon PD. They can only reliably lock you when you're flying towards them. You don't need to precisely notch. Just go fucking cold and you'll be invisible to their PD radar. The radar will try to swap to standard modes to maintain the lock but that's easily countered with chaff or ground clutter.

right now AMD is best price to performance for CPU's, GPU's are pretty close but AMD still is better dollar to frame wise for most games. I have a 2700x CPU and 6700XT GPU and I run this game on max settings (not movie) at close to 200 FPS, literally never dip below 150 even during arty and autocanon spam out the ass

I've definitely learned to have a lot more patience when it comes to doing well in matches. I used to get antsy when I didnt get kills right off the bat.

Round is good that's true. Mobility is only OK for a cheiftain but most other MBT's will round circles around you. Turret armour though is bad at this BR; it's middling in 8.7 at best but at 9.3 you just get lol penned by any apfsds round (not even top tier ones, the mediocre DM23 round just wrecks your turret crew). If you happen to face off against any conventional tank you just get wrecked, but if you wanted to flank instead of doing tratitional hull down, you'd just be better off in a light tank. It really just serves no role in it's current line up

The only reason i even got the thing is I'm a chieftain simp. The better top speed and reverse gear + lazer range finder and the only reason I even use the thing occasionally, but 9.3 is so punishing on this old slow girl I just feel bad for it
